Yesterday, Wednesday, Wim finished the second prototype PCB. There are no special components on this PCB except for the TI µ-Chip. Wim used his Spartan FPGA board to create a clock of 27MHz needed as clock for the TI 1110. After coupling the TI µ-Chip to the development kit and the FPGA board, the development kit showed us that he had recognised the TI µ-Chip. Now the real programming and debugging can begin!
Today Benny has been granted permission by his mother in law to use her American Express card for the payment of the antennas and enclosures. Yes, we are going to order another 52 enclosures since we haven't heard a thing from Andreas in Germany in about three weeks. Tomorrow, we'll go to the bank to settle the transfer.
Also today I've written a press article as it is my duty to write press articles as a commercial manager.
Today Benny, Ivan, Kevin and myself went to Genk for the public selling day at Shopping 1. We received more positive reactions of people walking by then we could ever think of. Lots of interested people found their way to our small spot in the shopping center. For the ones of you who have missed this selling day, saturday 24 february there will be another selling day in the Wijnegem Shopping Mall. More info about this soon...
Friday we were finally able to make the order of the PCB's. The PCB is 3cm long and 2.5cm wide. We've chosen for SMD technology to keep it compact. Via www.makePCB.com we can order the best PCB's for the lowest price. The PCB's should arrive within 2 weeks from now on.
A couple of days ago we got the opportunity to rent a stand at the public selling day for SBP's at the Wijnegem Shopping Center. I immediately subscribed for this event. Ivan will do the financial part later on this week.
Today I finally received a mail from Andreas, who is willing to make the order of the enclosures from www.mercateo.de. (type FB-20) Fedex will deliver the enclosures at Andreas address in Germany. Andreas will bring the box with him to his work at Bosch Tienen and hand over the box to my father. This process should take max 7 working days.
Thursday Wim and Ivan made contact with the two development kits. They've managed to turn on an LED by turning on a switch on the other circuit board.
Yesterday, I found an interresting antenna on Digikey. It is called "The Splatch" and uses an 50ohms copper strip on the PCB as antenna.
Since there is a slight problem in the shipping of our enclosures to Belgium, I've proposed my dad to ask a colleague of him, who is living in Germany, if it would be possible to ship the enclosures to his address. Monday I will receive his answer to this question.
Goals for the next few days are ordering every necessary component so that we have gathered everything by next week and the assembling can begin.
