    Saturday, August 9, 2008

MVP vs Jeff Hardy match on SummerSlam

The tension between Jeff Hardy and Montel Vontavious Porter has been mounting for weeks, and will finally explode at the Biggest Blockbuster of the Summer.

Their dislike for one another began on "MVP’s VIP Lounge" on the July 25 episode of SmackDown, where the Ballin’ Superstar described Hardy’s risk-taking behavior as “wreckless” and a “detriment” to both his friends and family.

The Legend Thriller, not taking kindly to MVP’s harsh, personal criticisms, responded by tossing SmackDown’s Franchise Playa from the VIP set. (WATCH)

One week later, Hardy positioned himself at ringside to watch MVP take on Jimmy Wang Yang. After the match, a furious Hardy again took out his anger on MVP with a Twist of Fate. (WATCH)

Then, at Saturday Night's Main Event, MVP retaliated by brutally kicking Hardy in the head, costing him his match against Edge. (WATCH)

For months, MVP has complained to SmackDown General Manager Vickie Guerrero about wanting to renegotiate his contract, claiming that he was underutilized on Friday nights. Now that he has the limelight in a major pay-per-view encounter, will Porter shine and get the credit he has been craving?

As for Hardy, who has undergone many challenges this year – from losing his home and dog in a fire, to undergoing a suspension, then moving to a new brand – what kind of ring performance will the four-time Intercontinental and seven-time Tag Team Champion offer?

The time is right for both Superstars to earn a victory, but who wants it most?

To catch the Biggest Blockbuster of the Summer, tune in to SummerSlam, Sunday, Aug. 17, only on pay-per-view.

Edge defeated Jeff Hardy on WWE Saturday Night Main Event

    Most Valuable Interference
When Edge squared off against Jeff Hardy, there was a lot on the Rated-R Superstar’s mind, such as his rocky relationship with SmackDown General Manager Vickie Guerrero and his impending Hell in a Cell Match against a returning Undertaker at SummerSlam. And after his brutal attack on Mick Foley on SmackDown just 24 hours earlier, a reinvigorated Edge was ready to make a statement. Though there were several near falls throughout the match, neither Superstar could get a definitive upper-hand. But as Edge recuperated outside the ring from a missed spear, MVP emerged from the crowd and delivered a crushing kick to the head of Jeff Hardy. This was just the opening that the Ultimate Opportunist needed, as he rushed back into the ring and speared his opponent, gaining momentum for SummerSlam.

MVP crashes Jeff's match agains the Great Khali

    Crushing the Legend Thriller

In perhaps one of Jeff Hardy’s most lopsided matches ever, the Legend Thriller was completely dominated by The Great Khali. Toward the end of the match, however, Hardy had a glimmer of hope when he was able to topple the Punjabi Giant with a Whisper in the Wind capped off with a Swanton Bomb. But just when things were looking good for Hardy, MVP approached the ring, forcing Hardy to divert his attention, kicking MVP back away from the ring and onto the floor. As Hardy and MVP tussled outside the ring, Khali forcibly ripped Hardy back into the ring by the head. Next, the 7-footer locked Hardy in his painful Khali Vise Grip, forcing the referee to call for the bell to stop the punishment. After the match, MVP came back into the ring to gloat over Hardy’s lifeless body.

The Great Khali w/ Ranjin Singh vs. Jeff Hardy

The bell rings and Jeff Hardy is looking serious about this match. He better – he’s in the ring with the #1 Contender. They stand toe to toe and Khali puts his hand over Jeff’s head to show the height difference and then he pushes Jeff into the ropes. Jeff comes off the ropes and pushes him back! Jeff kicks Khali in the gut and delivers two right hands and goes into the ropes and goes to hit a jumping clothesline but Khali just stands there. Jeff Hardy comes off the ropes again and ducks a Khali clothesline and goes for a jumping clothesline but again Khali just stands there! Jeff comes off the ropes again and runs right into a big clothesline from Khali. Great…

Khali picks Jeff up and smashes his head into the turnbuckle. Khali is stomping a mudhole on Jeff in the corner. Charles Robinson, who only a few short weeks ago was destroyed by Khali, makes him stop! Is Khali afraid of Charles Robinson?? Jeff Hardy is crawling on the ground and Khali picks him up and puts him in the corner and delivers some back elbows to his head. Jeff Hardy falls to his face and the referee checks on him. The match continues. Khali defiantly raises his arms in the air and picks Jeff up and tosses him into the corner. Khali goes back to the back elbow strategy. Jeff Hardy is out of the corner and Khali picks him up for a body slam, holds him impressively with one arm and then slams him hard to the canvas. Khali stalls and then does the exact same thing all over again – then he defiantly raises his arms in the air again. I think that’s definitely a finisher.

Khali picks Jeff Hardy up and head-butts him, causing Jeff to crumple to the corner. Khali delivers another back elbow to Hardy in the corner and then delivers a huge slap to Hardy’s chest. Hardy crumples. Khali picks Hardy up again and delivers a back elbow. Khali goes for another one but Jeff Hardy starts kicking Khali in the gut! Hardy is up to the second rope and Khali slaps him off to the outside of the ring!! Time for a break.

    :::Commercial Break:::

We’re back from the break and Khali is picking Jeff up and delivering a short arm clothesline. Khali has those arms up again! During the break we see that Khali had thrown Jeff hard into the stairs. Back to “live” action we see the cut on Jeff Hardy’s shoulder from the stair shot. Khali has the nerve hold locked in on Jeff Hardy (yes, the same one used by Umaga) and he has it locked in tight. The fans are willing Hardy on and it’s working as Hardy gets up to his feet and starts elbowing Khali in the stomach only to get clubbed down to his knees by the behemoth. The nerve hold is locked in again. To Jeff’s credit he is making some great facial expressions and doing some good mannerisms while selling this boring move. It’s also to the credit of the crowd who is red hot and chanting for Hardy.

Jeff is up to his feet and elbows and punches out the hold and goes to whip Khali but he whips him into the corner and Jeff runs up and hits Whisper in the Wind, taking the big man off his feet! The crowd in Hershey is wild!! Jeff Hardy is quickly up to the top rope and hits a Swanton Bomb and this crowd is insane!!! I love it!!!

All of a sudden Jeff Hardy runs up to the ropes and hits a swinging baseball slide on MVP! He then jumps over the top rope and delivers a Pescado! Jeff Hardy goes to pick up MVP but MVP shoots Jeff into the ring apron and they’re just duking it out. Inside the ring, Khali is up to his feet and grabs Jeff Hardy by the head and brings him up to the top rope where he hangs him and then clubs his chest, making Jeff Hardy do a back flip into the ring. MVP asks Khali what he’s waiting for and Khali shouts for Jeff to get up. Khali measures Jeff Hardy up and locks in the Khali Vice Grip. Jeff Hardy tries to fight it but eventually the referee calls for the bell.

Winner by Knockout: The Great Khali

Jeff Hardy vs Matt Hardy ended in a no contest on Friday Night Smackdown

    Matt Hardy vs. Jeff Hardy

The wedding party is completely upset because of the shenanigans before the commercial break.

The bell rings and the two brothers shake hands and get ready for the match. They lock up and Jeff takes his brother’s arm and wrenches it. Jeff gets him in a hammerlock and Matt reverses it and gets him in a headlock. They go into the ropes and Jeff gets out of the hold by whipping him but Matt hangs onto the arm, wrenches it and gets Jeff in a headlock. Jeff Hardy breaks the hold and wrenches Matt’s arm and he wrenches Jeff’s arm, which flips him over and he kicks up to his feet and wrenches Matt’s arm again. He begins driving his shoulder into Matt’s and then locks in an arm lock. Matt pushes Jeff off into the ropes, Matt goes to his belly so Jeff jumps over and Matt hip tosses his brother. Matt does his hand signal and smiles. Jeff gets up, goes to lock up and Matt hits a school boy for a two count!

Matt goes for the Twist of Fate but Jeff counters into a Twist of Fate attempt of his own and Matt pushes him off into the turnbuckle, which Jeff promptly climbs and hits Whisper in the Wind on his brother! Jeff takes Matt’s legs out from under him, lifts Matt’s legs over his own head and does that leg drop compression pin for a two count! They’re both up and Jeff comes off the ropes and knocks Matt down with a forearm to the face and comes off the ropes again and hits a spinning neckbreaker on Matt for a one count. Jeff goes to Irish whip Matt but its reversed and Matt goes to throw him out of the ring but Jeff “Skins the cat” and comes back into the ring where he’s clotheslined out by Matt! Matt rolls out of the ring and puts Jeff back in and begins signaling for the Twist of Fate. Matt tries to go for the finisher but Jeff tries to get out and Matt wraps his legs around Jeff for a guillotine choke and Jeff drives Matt hard into the turnbuckle. Matt is down in the turnbuckle and Jeff does his slingshot dropkick for a two count! Jeff goes to hit Matt but Matt gets him in position for the Side Effect, Jeff elbows out and then hits the Side Effect on Matt!! Jeff is now going up the top rope for a Swanton Bomb but Matt rolls out of the way! Matt goes up to the top rope and hits a moonsault for a two count! Now La Familia comes in and puts the boots to them and the match is thrown out!

    Winner: No Contest

Hardyz defeated Miz and Morrison on ECW

Miz & Morrison v. The Hardy Boyz

Both teams make their entrances, and the match is up next!

    ****Commercial****

We come back and the match is already underway. Matt Hardy and Miz are trading blows back and forth in the ring, and Miz finds himself in a side headlock. The crowd is very strong behind the Hardys tonight. Miz tries to get out a couple of times but keeps finding himself in the same hold. Jeff gets the tag in and flies feet first into the ring. Miz manages a kick which allows Morrison to get the tag that is followed up with a swift uppercut. Jeff blocks a backdrop and plants his legs into Morrison’s gut. The Hardy Boys hit “that maneuver” (credit Adamle). Matt locks Morrison up in a side headlock. Miz manages a distraction which allows Morrison to drive Matt into the corner but Matt dodges the splash only to be taken out by the freshly tagged Miz.

Miz locks in a headlock square in the middle of the ring, but gets blasted with a jawbreaker. Morrison gets in the tag and Matt is starting to look like a dazed dummy. Both Matt and Morrison end up face down on the mat and Jeff and Miz get the hot tags! Jeff seems to have the upper hand as the two go corner to corner. Jeff hits some nice quick moves and then leaps off of Matt’s back into the Miz. That move has a name if I could only put my finger on it. Apparently I am having a Tazz and Adamle night. I could look it up online, but that would be cheating. Jeff goes up to the top for the Swanton but Morrison pulls Miz out of the ring.

    ****Commercial****

When we come back, Jeff is on his stomach and Morrison has a headlock applied. Jeff is fighting hard and the crowd is in his corner. Jeff hits a spinning kick, but Morrison gets the tag first, and Miz is able to contain Jeff from getting the tag to Matt. Miz drills his knee over and over into Jeff’s back and then applies a headlock of his own. Jeff dodges a splash attempt but Morrison gets in before Jeff can get the tag and once again Jeff is contained. We see a nice backbreaker and Russian leg sweep by Morrison, but Jeff kicks out of the pin attempt. Jeff gets in a shot that drops Morrison, but Miz now gets the tag in before Jeff! Matt is getting really frustrated but the ref keeps him out of the ring. Miz puts Jeff in the tree of woe then pulls his neck back towards the ring post. Miz takes Jeff to the top rope and goes for a suplex of some sort, but Jeff pushes him off and hits the Whisper in the Wind!

Miz gets the tag to Morrison, and Matt Hardy gets the hot tag! Matt backdrops Morrison and goes for a pin attempt, but no ice cream. Matt takes out Morrison and proceeds to go after Morrison. John hits a nice roll through cover but no pin. Matt Hardy hits a powerbomb, but Miz saves the match for his team. Matt gives him a Side-Effect for his efforts. Morrison hits the Midnight Drive but before he can even cover Matt, Jeff hits the Swanton! Jeff throws Miz out of the ring and Matt gets the cover on Morrison!

    Winners via Swanton: The Hardys

Jeff Hardy interviews Lost Prophets in WWE'sS2S

In the latest Superstar to Superstar, Jeff Hardy talks to Lostprophets’ vocalist Ian Watkins and guitarist Mike Lewis. The band’s single, “Rooftops,” was recently used in a video montage on SmackDown, highlighting Hardy’s high-flying moves. The Welsh rockers’ song is off their 2006 album, Liberation Transmission, available on Columbia Records.

Hardy: tell me about the song, “Rooftops.”

Ian Watkins:We wrote it years and years ago when we were on tour and we just never used it. It always had a good melody and a good vibe, but we never ended up using it for anything. On the last record, we worked with Bob Rock, who worked with Metallica and Motley Crue. We were messing around and said, ‘Hey, we’ve got this song, what do you think?’ When we played it, he just loved it. Working with him, we just kind of messed around with it and it came out of an acoustic thing. When we play it live, it’s insane. During the chorus, everyone always screams their hearts out. It’s really good live.

Hardy:Cool. Are you guys familiar with wrestling? Did you watch as kids?

Watkins: Yeah, but Mike did more than me. I didn’t have cable I was too poor.

Lewis: I used to watch all the old WrestleManias with Ultimate Warrior, Hulk Hogan and Bret Hart. He was always my favorite.

hardy: Yeah, he was one of mine, too. So why is “Rooftops” a good fit for me and WWE

Watkins: It’s one of those anthem songs. From what I’ve seen, when we play it live, when we get everyone singing, it’s totally a crowd participation song. The chorus is really simple, so anyone can sing it. The song is kind of about releasing frustrations and all that rage inside just getting it out. Definitely with you, you’re always jumping off of stuff. … We were watching the montage and we were like s*** … it looks amazing!

Hardy:Music plays a big role in WWE programming. What does your partnership with WWE mean to the band and why do you like working with WWE?

Lewis: It’s cool because the kids who are into WWE are obviously very passionate about it. For them to get into our music … it’s kind of a cool thing, too.

Watkins: A lot of people, especially in the United States, maybe wouldn’t really know about us because we’re from the United Kingdom, we’re big in Europe and Japan, but not so much in the United States. So it’s cool to have our song in WWE. Like Mike said, all of the fans are so passionate, and we’re just as passionate about our music. … Our songs are very pumped up. When you’re passionate about something, it’s a really good fit.

Hardy: I hear the band is playing a bunch of music festivals in Europe and Japan this summer, tell me about your upcoming shows.

Watkins: Actually we just headlined our first festival for 80,000 people, which is insane. It was the Download Festival at Donington Park, which held Monsters of Rock. It was three days. KISS did Friday, Offspring did Saturday and we closed on the Sunday, which was insane. It’s one of those things, like when you were a kid, you could never imagine doing. Obviously you fantasize about it, you jump around in your bedroom. Also, we used to watch it on TV. We’ve watched Metallica headline it, we’ve watched AC/DC headline it, and all those bands. Then for us to do it, it didn’t even seem real until halfway through the set.

Hardy: Right. Like me, for Hogan and Warrior to take part in WrestleMania, and now for me to take part in WrestleMania, it’s like, “Woah, this is real.” It’s crazy how it happens.

Watkins: It’s so bizarre. When you’re playing with bands who were your heroes growing up, and you see them backstage and they’re saying hi to you, talking to you on the same level, and you’re like, oh my god!

Hardy: Right on. I feel you, totally. What’s next for Lostprophets? When is your next album coming out and how different will the record be from Liberation Transmission?

Watkins: We’re finishing up the record now with Rob again. I think it’ll be out in late January or early February of next year. It’ll be much harder. When we first started we were a lot harder. We’re still melodic, but with a metal edge. On the last record, we purposely put a lot of pop mentality into it. Whereas on this one, we kept the tunefulness and the anthemic hooks, but we kind of put the metal back, as well.

Hardy: Cool. Do you have any messages for the WWE fans who heard “Rooftops” on SmackDown and became fans of Lostprophets?

Watkins: Thanks for taking the time to listen to us and go out and research it and check us out on the Internet. We don’t really care if people download our music for free. All that matters to us is that people are listening to it and kind of support it some way. If you can’t afford to buy an album, then yeah, download it for free. Or come to our shows and buy a T-shirt. Spread the word to your friends. As long as people support us in some way, that’s what matters to us. Fans of yours can watch your stuff and listen to the song and say, “All right, I like that,” and then go check it out.

Jeff Hardy wins against Morrison on Smackdown debut

    Flying onto SmackDown
The 2008 WWE Draft brought big changes to SmackDown, including Hall of Famer Jim Ross’ arrival on the blue brand and long-time announcer Michael Cole saying his final goodbye to fans as he heads to Raw. Making his SmackDown debut, after being drafted from Raw, was Jeff Hardy, who fought WWE Tag Team Champion John Morrison in a valiant back-and-forth battle. After avoiding a Moonlight Drive from the Shaman of Sexy, the Legend Thriller delivered a facebuster-powerbomb, followed up by a Swanton Bomb and the pinfall.

Jeff Hardy is on the cover of the latest issue of WWE Magazine (August 2008 issue) and they're teasing a possible title run. Like a spy, he's hanging by a rope from the ceiling over the WWE Title enclosed in glass. The headline reads "Black Ops Exclusive! Mission: Possible - Jeff Hardy's Covert Strike To Seize Gold...Exposed!". You can see a larger view of the cover at our Jeff Hardy gallery. The magazine also features an apparently controversial interview with Randy Orton that they "almost didn't print."

Hardy defeats Carlito on Monday Night Raw

    Jeff Hardy v. Carlito

The two exchanged not-so-niceties around the ring until Carlito caught Hardy trying to get back into the ring and caught him in a swinging neck breaker. Carlito kept up the pressure bullying Hardy back into the corner. Hardy fought his way out and came off the ropes but it was all in vain, as he crashed into a Carlito drop kick.

Carlito slapped on a rear chin lock and kept it cinched in on the mat while the crowd tried to rally Hardy to his feet. Carlito connected with a back elbow for a two count before slapping on the bow and arrow.

Hardy of course, fought out and hit some kicks to the gut followed by the mule kick. Hardy went for his catapult drop kick but completely whiffed and Carlito capitalized. He went for a full nelson variant but instead ate a jaw breaker.

Carlito tried to stay on the attack but was quickly met with whisper in the wind. Hardy hit his inverted sit out suplex before he went to the ropes. He looked for the swanton but Carlito leaped to his feet and Jeff bailed on the move. Carlito tried the back stabber, but Hardy countered it into the twist of fate followed by a big swanton bomb and that’s all she wrote.

Jeff Hardy jumps over Triple H and John Cena

All across the nation, the only thing on the minds of WWE fans is how to get a piece of McMahon’s Millions. For WWE Champion Triple H and John Cena though, the number one thing on their minds is championship gold. In just a few short weeks The Game will be defending his title against John Cena at Night of Champions, but on Raw he squared off against Jeff Hardy. As The King of Kings and the Legend Thriller beat the bricks off of each other, John Cena sat at the announcer’s table. Triple H was in the process of getting counted out when Cena pulled The Game off the apron, resulting in a win for Jeff Hardy by count-out. The two Superstars stared one another down, inches away from a collision, when the high-flying Hardy launched himself out of the ring, taking down both Triple H and Cena.

    Triple H v. Jeff Hardy

Triple H grabbed a headlock to start us off before Hardy pushed him off only to eat a shoulder block. Triple H stared down Cena long enough for Jeff Hardy to capitalize and hit a swinging neck breaker. Hardy hammered away at the champion in the corner before hitting a take down for a two count.

Hardy hit his mule kick and the catapult drop kick in the corner for another near fall. Hardy looked for a twist of fate prematurely and paid for it with a big Triple H spine buster.

The Game struggled to his feet before gathering Hardy and reigning right hands down on the head of Jeff Hardy. Hardy got sent into the rope and got bashed with a Triple H high knee for a quick two count before Triple H dropped a pair of knee drops down across Hardy’s face.

Triple H slapped on the abdominal stretch. After a struggle, the hold was broken and Triple H kept up the pace, sending Hardy into the corner with a hard Irish whip. After going for a cover, the champion whipped Hardy to the corner but was met with a Hardy high kick. Hardy came flailing back with right hands before eating a face buster for yet another near fall.

Triple H connected with a big right hand before bringing Hardy back to his feet to only send him careening back down to the mat with another. Hardy fought back again though and backed the game up and was able to squeak out a whisper in the wind attempt that Triple H barely side stepped.

Hardy struggled to hold himself up on the ropes as Triple H came bounding at him with a big clothesline that sent Jeff clattering to the floor. Triple H followed him to the outside and smashed Hardy’s face off the guardrail. The match would take a turn for the worse for the champion however, as Hardy managed to reverse an irish whip and Triple H was sent smashing into the barricade.

Hardy charged Triple H and the Game countered with a hip toss that sent Hardy smashing into John Cena, who was sitting in the commentary area. Hardy made his way back into the ring and while Triple H attempted to climb back in the ring, Cena returned the favor from earlier in the night and tripped up Triple H while the official’s back was returned.

The official counted to 10 and Hardy’s got himself a big win.

Winner: Jeff Hardy via count out

Cena and Triple H faced off on the outside, but not to have his big night turned upside down, Jeff Hardy came soaring off the top rope and took both out to celebrate in the middle of the ring.

Hardy loses to John Cena in a #1 Contenders Match

WWE's Monday Night Raw started with WWE champion Triple H coming out to the ring and started talking about how the Age of Orton was over. He put over how Orton was in the hospital with a broken collar bone and he was still WWE Champion. He said he didn’t know who was next and frankly, he didn’t care. Then John Cena’s music hit and he came to the ring.

Cena came out and said everyone wasn’t wondering about the future as Triple H said. He said the Future was Now. He said he didn’t hate Triple H at all. Heck, they agreed on a lot of things. Except the WWE Championship. Cena said Triple H had conquered them all. Except for him.

With the next WWE Draft coming up, they might never get the opportunity again, so he had a question for the fans. Are they ready?

Triple H said a big star in the wrestling world looked at him dead in the eye and said ‘if you want some, come get some’. That was before Jeff Hardy’s music hit.

Hardy interjected himself by saying that three guys won matches last night, and he was also one of them. Hardy said as far as he was concerned, he AND Cena were in line for the title. Triple H said he didn’t care which one he beat. He said he was pretty much done here. Jeff said that was fine. He just wanted to make sure he got his. He challenged Cena to a shot at a shot tonight.

Vince McMahon came out on the Titan Tron and said he knew what everyone wanted. Vince said Jeff’s idea wasn’t bad, but he had a better one. What if Triple H defended the WWE Championship at Night of Champions and what if we had a match, first time ever, between Jeff and Cena.

    #1 Contender’s Match
    John Cena v. Jeff Hardy

The two locked horns and Cena grabbed a side headlock. Hardy couldn’t toss him off and rode the hold for a little while until Cena took him off his feet. A fan tried to jump in the ring and Cena and Hardy chuckled a bit before getting back to business.

Hardy grabbed a head lock of his own before he took Cena down to the mat. Cena struggled before tossing Hardy off the ropes and nailing him with a hip toss and a few elbows before going to the trusty rear chin lock of doom.

Hardy tossed Cena off and he’s got some hip tosses for Cena and then uncorked a snap suplex for a quick near fall before going right back to the side headlock.

Cena tossed Hardy off the hold and tripped him up looking for the STFU but couldn’t hit it and fled to the outside. Hardy wasted no time in going right at him, drop kicking him through the ropes and launching himself over the top rope, crashing into the former champion on the outside.

    ****Commercial****

We came back just in time for a Hardy near fall. He gathered Cena and pushed him to the corner only to eat two big right hands and find himself on the bad end of a John Cena suplex for a two count.

Cena charged Jeff in the corner and whiffed badly and ate a mule kick for a two count. Cena hit a kick to the gut and connected with a snap mare for a two count. Hardy reversed and Irish whip and hit an inverted suplex before signaling for something big. He went to the top rope and missed a Swanton bomb but Cena was too wasted to capitalize.

Cena ducked under a clothesline and went into his victory sequence and the crowd’s amped. Cena hit the five knuckle shuffle and prepared to hit the FU. Hardy fought out of the hold and hit a forearm and now he’s in victory sequence. Hardy hit a vicious catapult drop kick in the corner for a two count, but Cena’s the one kicking out now.

Hardy connected with whisper in the wind and got a 2 and like nine million tenths count on the cover attempt and the crowd is INTO it. Cena caught Hardy in the FU out of a twist of fate counter, but Hardy wiggled out again and drop kicked Cena to the mat. He went for a cross body block but Cena caught him and rolled through into a UNREAL FU for the three count and the win.

Winner: John Cena via pin fall

Hardy/Cena lost to JBL/Umaga one week before One Night Stand

Just days before WWE One Night Stand, wrestling superstars Jeff Hardy and John Cena teamed up against their One Night Stand opponents Umaga and JBL.

The combination of Umaga & JBL’s physically punishing styles was too much for the mixture of Hardy’s high-flying offense with Cena’s brute strength. JBL took advantage after Hardy missed a Swanton Bomb, delivering the Clothesline from Hell to get the win.

Jeff Hardy & John Cena v. JBL & Umaga

Umaga and Cena are starting things off here. The two started throwing some bombs before Cena went for an early FU, only to face plant under the weight of the Samoan. Umaga laid the boots to the former champion and beat him into the corner but missed a splash attempt. Cena went for a cross body only to get caught and slammed hard to the canvas for a near fall.

We came back to Hardy getting a hot tag and he went straight at Umaga. Umaga caught him in the corner only to miss a splash attempt. Hardy fought off JBL on the outside before leaping into the ring, only to get knocked out of mid air and clatter down to the floor.

JBL hit an Irish whip before gathering Hardy and clamping on an abdominal stretch. Hardy broke the hold barely before JBL picked him up and smashed him down to the canvas with a forearm smash and bit boot, earning himself a two count.

Hardy fought back with right hands and hit whisper in the wind to buy himself some time. Hardy got the hot tag to Cena who began dropping shoulders and a side slam. He knocked Umaga off the apron before lining up the five knuckle shuffle and connecting. Umaga stopped the party and took Cena to the outside but hardy grabbed a tag. He fanned on the Swanton bomb. JBL quickly recovered and smoked hardy with a clothesline from hell for the pin and the win.

Winner: JBL & Umaga via pin fall

What will happen when Umaga and Jeff Hardy do battle anywhere in the arena come One Night Stand? Will the Samoan Bulldozer put an end to Jeff’s hot streak since his return, or will Hardy defy the odds as he has time-and-time again during his career?

Jeff Hardy against Umaga on One Night Stand PPV

Though he’s overcome an amazing amount of adversity in his career, WWE wrestling superstar Jeff Hardy has had a mountain of an obstacle placed in front of him: Umaga, who Jeff Hardy will be facing in a Falls Count Anywhere Match at WWE One Night Stand PPV.

In one of his last acts in power as WWE Raw General Manager, William Regal responded to a hellacious wrestling war between the two in which Jeff Hardy’s high-risk maneuvers came up against Umaga’s wrestling brutality. Despite the aggressiveness of both Superstars, however, the match ended without a winner, as both men were counted out of the ring.

The two wrestlers have clashed since fall of last year, when Jeff Hardy faced off against Umaga for the WWE Intercontinental Championship. Though the Samoan Bulldozer had been used to running roughshod over any type of competition, Jeff Hardy was able to stand his ground, utilizing the acrobatic moves that have made him a fan-favorite, defeating the wrestling savage to become a four-time WWE Intercontinental Champion. More recently, in his return to WWE Raw, Jeff Hardy obtained a pinfall victory over Umaga, proving that even after a two-month wrestling absence in WWE, he still has what it takes to derail the Samoan Bulldozer.

Though they’ve battled back and forth for months, their match at One Night Stand will end only with a decisive win for one of these Superstars, as a pin outside the ring will be as valid as one inside. Both men have unorthodox styles and are sure to carry their fight all over the San Diego Sports Arena, from the ring, to the entrance ramp, the audience, and even the parking lot.

With complete freedom of where to take the carnage, what insane risks will we see Jeff Hardy take with his body? And will even that be enough to stop Umaga at his most brutal?

To see this match-up and more, be sure to tune into One Night Stand—the one night where WWE goes extreme.

Jeff Hardy Returns to Monday Night Raw

Monday was a night of returns as both John Cena and Jeff Hardy appeared on their first edition of Raw after lengthy absences.

Hardy began his comeback by addressing our fans, explaining that he made a mistake and he paid for it.

“Now that I’m back,” he said, “I have a lot of things to do.”

Hardy said he didn’t want to be away from any of the fans, but he made a mistake and he paid for it. He said now that he was back, he had a lot of things to do. He went to speak before the mic cut out and here comes our king William Regal. Regal said no one wanted to hear what was wrong with his mic, and they didn’t want to hear his apologies. He said he wanted a match right now.

    Umaga time.
