This post
is about the first time I left Europe. I went with my uncle to Bonaire for 10
days during autumn break. We left on Friday and came back on Sunday. Normally
my aunt would go with my uncle but she couldn’t because of medical reasons. So
I took her place. I needed to buy a new plane ticket because hers was not
changeable.I bought it with another airline because it was much cheaper. That also
meant that I had to travel alone. It was a 10 hour flight. We stayed at a B&B
from people of the diving club. They moved from Belgium to Bonaire a couple of
years ago and own a villa. They have a dog that became instantly my friend. Bonaire
is a Dutch island in the Caribbean Sea. Everyone speaks Dutch but pays in
dollars, which is very funny. Bonaire is famous for diving so that’s what my
uncle did. I don’t dive so I was snorkelling while he was diving. I got to swim
with turtles. That was one of the prettiest things to see and do. On my birthday
we went to the Goto Lake and saw a lot of beautiful animals. It was so cool
that I took selfies with flamingos on my birthday. We saw birds, eagles,
pelicans, lizards, salamanders, geckos, lobsters and crabs. Donkeys and goats
just stood in the middle of the road. We also saw parrots next to our villa if
we got up early. We also hung a lot by the pool. It was so hot in Bonaire that we
only wore our swimming suits most of the time. Sometimes we needed to lie down
on the bed in our room with air conditioning. Make sure you protect yourself from
the sun with sunscreen because I was already burned on the first day.
I'm 23 years old and I'm a student from Belgium. I love to travel with my family and friends. In my blogposts you will read about my travel experiences. I will also share some tips and tricks of my recent trips. In this blogpost I will write about my most recent trip with my friends.
I arranged us a short trip to the happiest place on earth. We went to Disneyland Paris for three days the first weekend of February. I drove the five of us with my mother's car back and forward. We arrived on Sunday and left on Tuesday. We stayed at Disney's Davy Crockett Ranch in a log cabin for six. We had a kitchen and made the food that we brought from home. That saved us a lot of money. We also downloaded the app to make a schedule. It contains all the essential information. For the major attractions we got a fastpass so we could come back and skip the line. We also had extra magic time so we could go in before opening hours but we didn't need it. It's important to plan the shows, parades and events first and then the rest. In general we visited the park two days and the studios one day. The park is way bigger so takes more time. On our last day we shopped and ate something in the village because it stays open very late.
