Day 40
This was the best day of my life!!! I met Neil Patrick Harris today!!! Can you believe that!! For those who don't know him, he plays Barney in How I met Your Mother. This is the best show ever, so please, do yourself a favor and watch it :)
So, directly after class finished, I went to New York. It was a around 5.30 PM, me and a good friends arrived at Barnes and Noble (A famous bookstore at Union Square), Neil Patrick Harris wrote a book and he was there to promote it and sign it. We bought our book and went in line. We waited four hours and a half but it was worth it. I wasn't allowed to take a picture with him, but it was amazing!!!
I had a great sunday at New York, with my amazing friends :) First we went to The High Line, it is beautiful to walk there. Later we rented some bikes, and biked through central park, wich is only getting more and more beautiful in tha fall. And than we went to Brooklyn, to have dinner at 'thai thai'. It was so good, finaly good food again!
Because it is EF's 50th aniversery, there is a competition between all EF school from all over the world. Every school has to make a dance video, on this song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1U9dQS5mqks&index=55&list=WL I was one of the dancers, we went to New York to flash mob dance. It was so cool, but there were a lot of place where we got kicked out by the police, like Grand Central and Rockerfeller Centre.
I did some amazing things in New York. First me and my friends had lunch in an amazing restaurant. Ellen's Stardust Diner is a restaurants where broadway actors work if they don't have a show at that time. So the waiters sing broadway song while they give your food. It is amazing. We also wanted to go to Central Perk ( the cafe from in 'friends', it opened very recently) but when we got there you had to wait for 3 hours to get in. So we are planning to go back an other time.
FIELD DAY!!! We didn't had any class today. It was the fourth annual field day. We
were put in groups, the theme was monsters so I was in the group called
'The Mummies' and in those groups we could choose between; body
(sports), mind (quizzes) and heart (dancing). I chose heart, I liked
it but we didn't get enough time to think about a routine and we had to
perform for the entire school, wich was a little awkward.
But I also got amazing news. My next door neighbour and I really wanted to go to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. We
knew that the tickets for november, would come online at 11.30 AM, the
tickets are always sold out within two minutes BUT WE GOT THEM!!! Two tickets for november 25th! We're so excited!!!
Hey guys, I know it has been a long time since I posted something, But I have been enjoying the american life. I can finally watch The Ellen Degeneres Show like it is meant to be :) on television!! The classes are nice, we even had class outside because of the beautiful weather. I've learned a lot in photography class. I'm having a great time here!!!
First of all we had
the coolest ride ever, the typical yellow school bus. In America
everything is 27 times bigger than it is in Belgium. So, also in Six
Flags it was 27 times higher, faster and impressive as it is in a
Belgian theme park. I went on the
highest roller coaster in the world, which was 456 feet (140meters)
high, and the top speed was 128 miles per hour (208 km/h) It was just crazy!!!
Just had a lovely saturday in New York City. Went shopping, got some ideas for my first real Halloween costume and much more. Can't wait for Halloween!
After some fun classes, me and two friends went to the movies. We had an amazing time. First we ate pizza, and later to the movie 'The Maze Runner'. Great movie!!
I've had an other amazing day, today. After winning the scavenger hunt, we got free frozen yogurt!!! It was just absolutely amazing. And every single day I meet amazing people.
It's my 10th day in New York, and I'm still so happy I've made this decision. Over the last few days there didn't really happen much, where I could have taken pictures of, so I'll just tell you.
The classes that I've already had , are general english classes. They are fine, have nice teachers, nice classmates. I like it. But Monday, I'll finaly have my first Media&Art class. I can't wait. I'm so excited.
In my freetime, I have to make my homework. But there are also a lot of nice things to do, like go shopping in Tarry town, go to New York City, go for a nice wallk around the lake, make tie-die t-shirts, go swimming and much more.
Tarrytown is so lovely!!! It's so peaceful and the houses are like crazy beautyful.
I went on the welcome tour today, on top of the rock (Rockfeller center). It was breathtaking, the most beautiful view I have ever seen. I am seriously falling in love with New York, I love everything about this city.
I've had an amazing day today! My first day at campus, It was great.
I woke up at 6.30, to go swimmig and go to the gym with a friend. A girl from france, my nextdoor neighbour, she is so nice. I have 2 roommates, a girl from hongkong and a girl from russia. After a good work out, we had breakfast. It was a buffet, I didn't know where to look first. It was delecious. And in the late afternoon, we got free icecream. So yeah, It's pretty awesome here.
