I read a text about a potential new Enlightenment in the twenty-first century. It goes around a specific international community "Knowledge Management for Development", in short KM4Dev. The main idea in this community is that knowledge should be able to help evolve the third world countries. On their website people can post texts or refer to their blog dealing with economics and other related world problems like poverty. Everyone can discuss with one another their sources, motives and objectives. In other words, it's about sharing valuable information. The posts on KM4Dev were compared in the text to the British Enlightenment of the eighteenth century. This Enlightenment of the eighteenth century was a source of inspiration for integrating knowledge as a separate aspect in management by which it became a macro-economic fact. The result of the comparison is that KM4Dev can be seen as the frontrunner of a new enlightenment in the twenty-first century.
