COLUMBIA, Md., July 12, 2012 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Retailing for under $45, each ring is inspired by birthstone colors
The
fashion and accessory forecast for this summer? Color. From sporting a
color block top to mixing a brightly colored dress with shoes and a
purse in contrasting tones, the ways to wear color are endless.
Just in time for the color trend, PANDORA Jewelry
recently launched 12 affordable, sterling silver rings inspired by the
colors of birthstones. Each birthday bloom ring retails for only $45 and
is designed to be stacked with other colorful or plain sterling silver
PANDORA rings. A semi-precious solitaire stone is perfectly rounded and
surrounded with delicate, hand-finished details set atop a textured band
of sterling silver beads.
"Accessories, such as jewelry, are the
most common ways for a woman to alter her look to match her outfit,"
said Angel Ilagan, Vice President, Marketing, PANDORA Sale
North America. "PANDORA's great-looking and affordable birthday bloom
rings can be a fun and easy way to add hints of color that can be worn
from one season to another."
The 12 semi-precious stones that can be found on the PANDORA birthday bloom rings include the following:
Garnet (deep red)-- January
Amethyst (light purple)-- February
Aquamarine (pale blue) -- March
Quartz (clear/white) -- April
Chrysoprase (bright green) -- May
Grey Moonstone (pale grey) -- June
Carnelian (orange) -- July
Peridot (pale green) -- August
Lapis (deep blue) -- September
Pink Opal (pale pink) -- October
Gold Citrine (deep yellow) -- November
Turquoise (turquoise blue) -- December
Just as every charm on a PANDORA bracelet
tells a unique story, birthstones also have stories and folklore beyond
their color. Birthstones are believed to bestow luck or healing powers
to the person wearing the stone during its assigned month. For example,
lapis (September/blue) is believed to promote openness, truthfulness and
creativity, while citrine (November/yellow) encourages success,
abundance and clear thinking.

The News that Thomas Sabo launched two new jewellery ranges in an elegant affair at Sydneys Queen Victoria Building last week.
Around 120 media and a handful of celebrity guests celebrated the launch of the new Thomas Sabo jewellery
ranges, which included the Sweet Diamonds collection and an addition
to the Sterling Silver collection, Glam and Soul Dance.
Sweet
Diamonds marks Thomas Sabos first foray into diamond jewellery, with
pieces featuring sterling silver and yellow gold. Phil Edwards, managing
director Duraflex Group Australia, which distributes Thomas Sabo, said
the brand would remain affordable.
Sweet Diamonds signals the
entry of the brand into the genuine jewellery segment, Edwards told
Jeweller. Developing the existing target group, this collection will
also see expansion to new target groups, who are interested in genuine
materials. Sweet Diamonds is an extremely affordable luxury range and
is priced from $100 to $300 and will be available from jewellers
nationally late August.
Australia is one of the few international markets selected to sell the German brands Sweet Diamonds collection, and Thomas Sabo Sale international representative Hanny Freund helped to present the collection to Australian media.
Sweet
Diamonds, which is the fourth collection offered by the Thomas Sabo
brand along with Sterling Silver, Charm Club and Watch collections, was
also given a glitzy display treatment on the night. The display cabinet
featured a bevelled mirrored base, a distinctive button quilted leather
backdrop and Hollywood lights and new heart-shaped gift packaging.
While
a large contingent of the fashion and lifestyle press were in
attendance, the brand also acknowledged some of the new tastemakers in
fashion by inviting several online bloggers. Edwards said he was pleased
with how the bloggers helped spread the word about the event.
We experienced a wonderful response to the event on social media with imagery of the new Thomas Sabo Australia collections and positive comments spread across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, he said.
Duraflex
will be holding a cocktail party for retailers following the Sydney
Trade Fair to celebrate the new Sweet Diamonds collection with Thomas Sabo Charms CEO Bernd Stadlwieser.
