 Jerry Lee Lewis, at 17 years, and his all time friend, Cecil Harrelson, drove late june 52 from Ferriday to New Orleans with the bus. Jerry wanted to cut a record to have something to present to the people that organized shows.

They drove there without their parents kwowing of  it.

They went to J&M Recording Studios on Dumaine and Rampart. They met COSIMO MATASA and paid 2 $ for a 78 rpm record.

Jerry recordered, alone at the piano, "NEW ORLEANS BOOGIE" an own composition for the occasion.

He also recorderd "DON'T STAY AWAY 'TILL LOVE GROWS COLD" a 1952 hit for LEFTY FRIZELL.

They drove back with the bus to Ferriday the next morning, before the posse formed, and handed over the disk to their family.

This song was recordered on the some day as NEW ORLEANS BOOGIE and put on the same 78 rpm disk in New Orleans, J&M recording studios.

THIS WAS A DEMO SESSION FOR THE LOUISIANA HAYRIDE UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF COUNTRY STAR SLIM WHITMAN.

IT'S JERRY LEE ALONE AT THE PIANO.

JERRY IS PLAYING BARREL HOUSE PIANO LIKE A REAL PROFESSIONAL.

1.10.1955. The original record of Whole lotta shaking going on, by ROY HALL, IN 1955.

Roy Hall wrote the song and he had a club in Nashville where Jerry use to play for some time early 1955.

The record was on Decca records and it has a sort of drunken tone in it.

It did not become a hit and there was no piano on it even though Roy was a powerful pianist.

The electric  guitar you here is from Sugarfoot Garland.
