You would think that in the UK,there is no poverty. But that is a wrong thought! It's not just because the UK is so popular and that England one of the high fashion cities is that there is no poverty.
A big issue is child poverty. The London University's  Institute of Education researchers found that almost 1/5 of seven-year-olds live in severe poverty. That is something you would not expect from such a country!
I think that the government should spend more money on the children in the future. Because eventually these kids will be the future of England. So it's very important that these kids also graduate from school and find a good job. So that they can take care of their family later.

I think that each child has the right to live a normal life even if that's on the costs of us. If that means that our taxes have to rise I don't mind. As long as it helps!

    Article: http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2010/oct/14/worlds-shortest-man-nepalese-dancer

This article just made my day. After coming home from a boring day, reading that parents feared their 67cm tall son would acually grow just made me burst into laughter. I've always been a fan of  freakshow world records; and Guinnes book of World Records has plenty. because the chilld/man/thing lives in Nepal, the organisation of the crowning reeked of failure, but eventually they discovered when his birthday actually was and got to him on the right day, giving him the title and the gateway to getting infinitely rich off of his handicap. over the last years, there have been quite some tiny people actually: I remember watching 'Koppen' about the shortest person alive (who was a bit taller than 70cm) just over a year ago. Although it is unfortunate there's something wrong in the 'new guy's' head. As a famous person once said: 'There's not much Force in this padawan.'
I really amused me with this article and I hope the other people reading this will do so aswell.

First of all, i’m happy for the miners. I followed as much of the rescue as i could, but i think all of these presents are a bit too much…

I know they went through a hard time, but what will happen if the media turns their back on them? Now everybody is talking about the miners and they get so much presents, they get a holiday to the Greek islands and some shirts from football teams and an Ipod for each miner. I don’t think it’s the right thing to give them presents. They can better spent their money on people who really need it, like the victims of the mud in hungary. There are a lot of people in the hospital with burns, they need the money for medication and help.

Maybe this sounds harsh, but the miners got out, they can start living again. But when the presents and media attention is over, how will they feel? They sat in a cave for 70 days, now the media helps them a lot. But when that stops, I think they’re going to start feeling traumatized...

Acropolis shut down in Greek protests

Protesting workers barricaded the doors of the Acropolis so no tourists could enter the beautiful ancient site because they were protesting. The reason of these protests are the cuts in workers' salaries en trimming the pension so Greece could be able to pay its debts. Because the protesters blocked the ancient site many tourists couldn't enter and many of them were ofcourse slightly unhappy by this event. Ofcourse these actions caused a lot of trouble when Athens riot police tried to control the situation by using teargas on those poor protesting workers. Visitors from many different places of the world couldn't do anything useful except taking pictures of the riots wich some of them actually did. These kind of protests have happened before but usually lasted a few hours.

I think these kind of actions are pretty useless. They only make tourists from all over the world hate Athens because the people can't even go on vacation to Greece without coming across protesters who think there salaries will improve by doing things like this. It only causes more financial troubles.

    God helped them!

So,Finally the 33 Chilean miners who were trapped for almost 70 days , are rescued!

It must be absolutely awesome to see your wife and kids back after a long time in a dark and dirty mine.

Offcourse the world was watching this disaster. They have filmed the whole rescue operation.

And as you can see, mining is not the most safety job,Certainley not in chili I suppose...

Faith was their hope, (as the miners themselves said) and God had helped them.Quiet remarkable that if there's a really bad situation, people always need something to rely on , which is Faith.

I'm wondering if these people don't have any mental problems,It must be shokking to leave the world for 3 months. Isn't it?

but I'm afraid that after they have been to the hospital they'll come back to the mines, and will keep on working there. Not so fair if you ask me.

just realize how good we have here...

I find it very bad news. This time it’s about a woman who abused boys. Most of the time its men who came in the news about abusing underage children . There is often much fuss about paedophilia, but now when a woman abused children they just pretend like it is nothing. She just only gets a bail on condition that she does not contact the victims. I find that a really mild punishment for her crimes and I think if a man would have done that he would immediately be imprisoned. The article also says that the teacher, Patel, worked in other schools, so maybe there are also victims and they are maybe just afraid to tell someone about it. But I hope the woman gets a heavier penalty, and that she doesn’t made other victims in her previous school. The article talks also only about suspension and not about dismiss. I think that is very strange. If this woman will ever works again as a teacher, then the school will be losing many pupils who are going to that school because which parent want to send their children to a school where there works a teacher that has abused boys ? I suppose nobody wants that . I also hope that there will be aid for the victims because this crime has a bad influence on their
     self-confidence.
