The belgian minister of environment and climate, Paul Magnette, suggests to postpone the closing of 3 nuclear plants. He decided this after the governement inflicted some experts to examin the condition of the plants. The experts concluded that the plants could remain working for approximately 20 years more.

According to the report, our minister decided to let the factories work until 2025, eventhough there is a law which claims the closing of these old nuclear plants in 2015. The reason why is very simple. By 2015 there won't be enough alternate energy to replace the current, but there are some other reasons aswell. If we keep on using nuclear energy this means a lot more profit for the company (Electrabel - GDF Suez). The governement is very well aware of this 'issue' and is planning an agreement with Electrabel. They'll have to donate 250 million euro to the belgian governemnt every year and the energy prices will be reduced to a minimum.
