Theodore helped lead the Dragon Dance round school! Weather here has been really odd again! Waking up to severe frosts and temperature around -2 then as the day goes on, the sun has shone and temperatures have reached 8-10......most peculiar! The trees are budding far too early.
I received a picture of the postboxes of England and Latvia! So here they are! As you can see they are all different. The only thing that is similar is the color...two of them are yellow, two of them are red! greetings!
a few weeks ago the children of Juf Lieve's class (Belgium) went to the library. They went by bus and took Rudy's cat with them! The children in England payed a visit to the library as well. Here you can see the pictures of these two visits! And look, as you can see Theodor went along with the english children! The first pictures you see with Theodor were taken in England, the four last pictures were taken in Belgium. ENJOY!
at christmas we all send postcards to each other. In Belgium we went to the post office with a few kids. They put the stamps on the envelopes and then they posted the cards! Our friend from Germany also send us a picture of their mailbox! As you all can see in Belgium they are red and in Germany they are yellow! I wonder what colour they are in Latvia and England!
We went skating with our friend Rudi's cat from Latvia. It was the first time for the children . In the beginning they need a
walking rack, but after half an hour most of them could skate alone. Our parents
helped a lot and enjoyed it also. Rudi loved being on the ice!

"At the Kindergarten "Pa LEI s" in Diepenbeek the childeren and teachers are getting acquainted with education in other European countries. For two years they have made a commitment with schools in England, Germany and Latvia. For the children this means that their mascot visits these countries and that he brings back pictures, activities and knowledge of these countries. The children make sure that whenever a mascot of an other country visits us he/she can take a lot of information about us with him/her. Our teachers visit the other schools and get to know their educational system. The didactic approach and methodical practice are a rich source of information of which our school benifits. from the 30th november till the 2nd of december two teachers from Latvia visited us. They had a chance to get to know "Sinterklaas" when he visited our children!

-minced meat and spaghetti for the spiders clean the vegetables and slice into little pieces before they simmer in the butter . Add the water and bouillon cubes and let it cook for 45 minutes. Puree the soup in a blender.
spiders: roll little balls of the minced meat and put the spaghetti through the meatballs. The spaghetti will be the legs of the spiders.
In Germany we made potato waffles, very yummy and easy to prepare
Ingredients for 4 Persons:
500g potatoes,
best if boiled the day before
250g flour
100g butter,
melted
200ml milk
4 medium
sized eggs
1 package
backing powder
1 ½ tspsalt
Boil the potatoes. Then, let them cool .
Cut the potatoes into small pieces and place them in a large bowl. Add melted
butter to the potatoes.Next, mix
together all additional ingredients with the potatoes and butter. This will form
a thick batter. Pour batter into waffle iron to cook.
Tip: Instead of cutting the potatoes into
small pieces, try placing them into a resalable bag. Seal bag
and knead potatoes until thoroughly mashed.
Serve with smooth herbal cottage cheese,
called Kräuter Quark in German, or serve the savory waffles as a side item with
meat.
