superstitious nature of athletes being what it is, you mightthink the
Bears' Robbie Gould wouldn't want tobe reminded that he needs to make his next 2
field-goal attempts tobecome the most accurate kicker in NFL history. But
reminding him would be redundant. Gould knows. He checks thenumbers.
Often."You're always chasing something," he said. "Making field goalsis what I
get paid to do, and kicking touchbacks is part of myjob."Gould has never done
his job better than he has in the first sixweeks of this season. He has converted
each of his 13 field-goal attempts, including aseason-long 51-yarder last
week.In less than half a season, he also has established a personalbest with 18
touchbacks. Despite the rule change this year movingkickoffs up five yards to
the 35-yard line, Gould's touchbacksstill are impressive; only seven kickers
have more. But it's Gould's dogged pursuit of the career field-goalaccuracy
record that is most intriguing. He has converted 86.4 percent of his attempts
since being signedby the Bears as a free agent on Oct. 8,2005, after being cut
by New England and Baltimore. The Patriotssigned him as a free agentafter he
went undrafted out of Penn State. In his previous six seasons, Gould's most
accurate was in 2008,when he knocked down 26 of 29 tries (89.7 percent). His
ultimategoal isn't to hit 90 percent of his kicks. He wants 100 percentbecause
he knows any miss could be critical."If I go out there and I miss a field goal,
it could haveimplications on our team," he said. "It's not just losing a
gameearly in the season, but that loss or that missed field goal
couldpotentially cost us a playoff spot."If Gould, who stands at career 172 of
199, hits his first trytoday, he would be in a dead heat with Nate Kaeding, who
has 173 of200 and is currently on injured reserve with San Diego. Two straight
moves Gould to 86.567, with Kaeding at 86.50. MikeVanderjagt is No. 2 at 86.46
percent (230 of 266).Vanderjagt played his home games in the controlled
environmentsof the Cowboys' and Colts' domes, while Kaeding played his homegames
in the temperate climate of Southern California.Gould has thrived outside in the
muck and mire of Chicagowinters. As fulfilling as the accuracy mark would be
personally, Gouldalways is quick to give credit to the flawless long-snapping
of14-year veteran Patrick Mannelly; former Bears punter Brad Maynard, who washis
holder for his first six seasons; and current punter and holderAdam
Podlesh."It's always great to be mentioned in that conversation," hesaid. "But
I've had a lot of help along the way. Our field-goalprotection this year has
been outstanding. Look at how great PatMannelly's been and Brad and now Adam
Podlesh have been. I'm prettylucky."To be mentioned in that conversation is a
tribute to how hard Iwork every day. When I leave the game, I want to be the
best thatever played the game."It's great that I have that opportunity, but I'm
going to havea lot more kicks, hopefully, than just the next one or two.
It'sgreat, I'm looking forward to it. Hopefully we can get there andkeep it for
the rest of my career."There's another record on the horizon that Gould
considers maybeeven more noteworthy than the FG mark. He needs 12 points to
passWalter Payton's 750 and move into second place in franchise historybehind
Kevin Butler's Bears-record 1,116 points."The field-goal percentage is great,"
Gould said. "But reallythe record I care about right now is hawking down Walter
Payton forpoints."Any time you can get in that same realm and be mentioned in
thesame sentence as Walter Payton, you're doing something really rightor you've
been here for a very long time."It's possible Gould could get both marks today
at London'sWembley Stadium, a foreign surface that doesn't intimidate him."Just
like Soldier Field," he said. "It can't get anyworse."* Follow Bob's Bears

Graham appears headed to IR Graham appears to be headed to IR
HOLDERTimes Staff WriterThe Bucs' injury situation went from badto
worse Sunday. As the Bucs' daylong flight returned toTampa Bay from London on
Monday afternoon, running back EarnestGraham was coming to grips with the
likelihood that his season isover. Graham, the veteran backup who became the
starter inLeGarrette Blount's absence during the past two games, suffered atorn
Achilles' tendon in the loss to the Bears and almost certainlywill be placed on
injured reserve, ending his season. The injury requires surgery and extensive
rehab, a tall orderfor a 31-year-old running back. The Bucs will be looking to
address theposition during this much-needed bye week, with Kregg Lumpkin -
whostruggled in relief of Graham - the only healthy back on the activeroster. On
Sunday, Lumpkin gained 15 yards on eight carries, 1.9yards per carry, and the
Bucs rushed for a season-low 30yards.Tampa Bay considered promoting former
Oklahoma running backMossis Madu from the practice squad last week but decided
to enterthe Bears game with just two tailbacks. Madu or former NorthernIllinois
star Chad Spann, also on the practice squad, become morelikely options this
week. That is, unless the Bucs consider free agent options. It's also possible
the Bucs will get Blount back for thenext game, at New Orleans on Nov.??6.The
loss of Graham is particularly problematic on third down.Graham beat out Lumpkin
in the preseason to win the job ofthird-down back, which requires sure hands and
pass-blockingability. Lumpkin now will be tested in those areas as he likelywill
assume the third-down role. There are other new injuries to sort out, too, as
several keyplayers were scheduled to undergo further examination afterreturning
home. They include safety Tanard Jackson (hamstring), guard/centerJeremy Zuttah
(ankle) and linebacker Mason Foster (ankle).Defensive tackle Gerald McCoy
(ankle), who has missed the pasttwo games, is expected to return against the
Saints. The Bucs remain hopeful starting centerJeff Faine (biceps) can return
then, as well.latest-sports
Maybe it was the revered opponent. Maybe it was the prime-timestage.
Maybe it was the five-game losing streak.Either way, it was enough to motivate
the Jacksonville Jaguarsto their best defensive effort in years. The Jaguars
dominated the Baltimore Ravens in a 12-7 victoryMonday night, allowing 146
yards, forcing nine three-and-outs,recording three sacks and taking advantage of
two turnovers.''I just think our guys just played real well,'' coach Jack DelRio
said Tuesday. ''I don't know if there's ever been a team that'snot excited for
Monday night. The stage is set up. It's exciting. The crowd gets into it, under
the lights, in front of a nationalaudience and so I think that certainly was
motivating.''I think for our guys, defensively, I think they got tired ofhearing
about how great Baltimore's defense is and I feel likewe're doing some good
things here that was an opportunity for us tokind of get out there and get after
them ourselves and make someplays and make our own statement.''The Jaguars (2-5)
certainly did. The win could be the spark therebuilding team needs to turn
around a season that got off to aslow start with two quarterback changes and
some offensive lineshuffling.Through it all, the defense has played
well.Jacksonville has held five of seven opponents below 300 yards ofoffense,
and the teams that did manage more - New Orleans andPittsburgh - were kept below
their season scoring average. It's exactly what Del Rio and general manager Gene
Smithenvisioned when they committed more than $100 million in freeagency to
revamp one of the league's worst defenses.''I felt very strongly that this would
be a good, solid defensefor us this year, and we're nearing the midway point,
and I thinkthat it's obvious that it is and has been and we're going to needto
be even better through the second half of the season,'' Del Riosaid.''So there's
room for growth and there's room for improvement, and we're going to need that,
but the effort and the energy and thedetermination that we played with, that
type of thing gives you achance and we just need to sustain that.''That could be
a challenge. The Jaguars travel to division rivalHouston on a short week, and
after a physical game, and needanother win to close ground in the wide open AFC
South. The Texans (4-3) already have two wins in the division and are6-2 against
Jacksonville at home during Del Rio's tenure.''There's a lot of football left,''
Del Rio said. ''We needed towin and we were able to get one last night. We need
to win somemore and the next opportunity we have to do that is go down andplay a
divisional opponent in the Houston Texans, who are sittingon top right
now.''Getting our energy back and going down there and playing wellon the road
and getting a victory, that's what it's all about rightnow. But the division
right now, you don't have Indy that's sittingthere at 7-0 or 8-0 running away
with things. There is definitelyand opportunity for everybody involved to put
some wins togetherand have a shot.''Beating Baltimore may have been a turning
point.Maurice Jones-Drew ran for 105 yards, becoming the first playerto eclipse
the century mark against Baltimore's vaunted defensesince last December. Josh
Scobee kicked four field goals, includingthree from beyond 50 yards. But the
defense stole the show.Jeremy Mincey, John Chick and Terrance Knighton harassed
QB JoeFlacco. Paul Posluszny, Daryl Smith and Clint Session corralledrunning
back Ray Rice. Rashean Mathis, Derek Cox and Dawan Landryblanketed receivers. It
was Jacksonville's best defensive performance since holdingTennessee to 98 yards
in 2006.''We got all the pieces of the puzzle,'' Mincey said. ''It justtakes
time for it to click and it finally started clicking.Everybody played their
position and focused on their jobs andthings happened.''It resulted in a big
win, one the Jaguars hope will buildconfidence for a young team and lead to
more.''We wanted to outplay them and we had a heck of a game,''Knighton said.
''We just needed that taste of victory so now thingsshould start
rolling.''

G.O. card). I suffered through thebricks of JumpinJohnny Green and the chucks of
Butch Komives. On the other hand, watching the gracefulness of a Bob Pettithook

father, an NYU grad, when the Syracuse Nationals werethe Knicksopponent.I even
had the privilege of playing at halftime of a Knicks-Sixers game in 1966 when
Iwas 3, heaving a shot from the top of the key that swished throughthe cords and
brought cheers from the crowd of over 19,000.My great memories of the NBA are
not of slam dunks andfive-carat diamond earrings andlook atme as I pull my

have watched the league grow in leaps and bounds, under theguidance of the
commissioner and its owners. The days of RedAuerbach who notonly coached, but
was GM, traveling secretary, part-time laundryman and PR director are long gone.
Theleague has employed thousands of people and enabled thousands moreto work in

the events that take place in thesevenues. The average American worker is trying
to make ends meet, andthat you have the audacity to complain that your already
overblownwages are being reduced by 10 percent is absurd. Instead of making$5
million youreonly going to get $4.5 million! Are you serious? Your greed
isselfish and unconscionable. The NBA and its fans were here long before you were
born, andwill be here long after you retire. I may miss the excitement
ofattending a game, of hearing the squeak of sneakers against theparquet floor
or the shrill tweet of thereferees whistle, but I will get by. Unlike the
thousands of American workers youhave essentially laid off, I have a job
thatdoesnt depend onyou or the league. You ought to be ashamed.Sincerely,Matt

The Cavaliers also went from leading the NBA in overall attendance
in 2010, to being 10th in the league in 2011. On the road, the Cavs went from
the second highest attendance in 2010, to dead last in 2011.How did LeBron James
affect the Miami Heats attendance in 2011?First, the Miami Heat improved from a
47 win team in 2010, to a 58 win team in 2011. Not all of that was LeBron, of
course, as all-star Chris Bosh(notes) also joined the team. As far as attendance
goes though, the Heat improved as follows:Miami Heat Home Attendance2010 -
17,730 (15th in NBA)2011 - 19,778 (5th)Net Gain of 2,048 fans per home

Miami Heat Had Big Gains in AttendanceWith LeBron James on the team, as well as
Chris Bosh, the Miami Heat saw big increases in attendance at home and on the
road. The Heat increased their home attendance by 11.6%, their road attendance
by 7.8%, and their overall attendance by 9.7%. Great numbers across the board,
especially the 11.6% increase at home, where the Heat can make the most money
from that big increase.Looking over the increases in attendance makes me
jealous. My favorite NBA team, the New Jersey Nets, made a big push for LeBron
James in 2010. Reportedly, LeBron met with Nets owners Mikhail Prokhorov and
Jay-Z. The Nets acted like they were in the running for LeBron last year, but I
dont think he was ever coming to the Nets. But what if he had?The Nets would
have become just about the hottest ticket in the NBA. And our attendance figures
would have soared by much greater percentage amounts than the Miami Heats
attendance spiked in 2011. Instead, without LeBron James, we averaged 15,639
fans overall per game, 28th best in the NBA.Note: This article was written by a

NBA Season Canceled? More Games Vanish: A Fan's Take The
league might be one step closing to having an entire NBA season canceled. Bad
news for Portland Trail Blazers fans came out on Monday night (Oct. 24), when it
became clear that more games will get canceled. This is a step in the wrong
direction when it comes to the collective bargaining discussions, and it is
starting to put the full season at risk. The newest cancellations will include
102 more games that stretch through Nov. 28. It means that the first four weeks
of games in the 2011-12 schedule are getting canceled, and that the chances of
playing a full 82-game schedule are just about gone with it. After a week where
it seemed like the NBA owners and players were finally getting close to an
agreement, the two sides seem even further apart in the collective bargaining
process.
The owners have even set down a demand that they wont meet with the Players
Union again until the side agrees to a 50-50 split of revenues. Currently the
players get more than that under the deal that was in place, but the owners
didnt like it, and it was one of the reasons that led to the lockout in the
first place . This line-in-the-sand has widened the gap between the two sides,
almost to the point where they are even speaking to each other. Its gotten far
past the point of being ridiculous, and it is threatening whether there will
even be any NBA action this year. This is very sad news for fans that have a
definitive love for the game of basketball. There will be a lot of fans that
turn to the college ranks to get their "fix" in the coming
weeks, and for people in the Pacific Northwest, that will certainly include some
great Pac-12 conference games. Oregon, Oregon State, Washington, Washington
State, and even Gonzaga could see an influx of fans interested in games simply
because the NBA cant get its act together. While both sides might feel they are
accomplishing something here, the reality is that the league is creating
distance from the NBA arenas and the average fan.More From

Kobe Bryant(notes) has been the center of rumors since the NBA lockout began
after the season ended. First he was going to Turkey, then Italy. Now that the
European leagues have begun their seasons it is unlikely Kobe will risk injury
playing against NBA
rejects.
Kobe Bryant at a public practice.Photo by: Executive office of President Public
Domain This is great news for Los Angeles Lakers fans but
Bryant is not going to sit on his hands and let the NBA or David Stern keep him
off the basketball court. Bryant is working on appearing in a barnstorming tour
with the NBAs greatest players in November. The tour will travel to Puerto Rico
London, Macau and Australia for now but it is possible there will be a few added
dates and countries if the tour is a success. Chris Broussard of ESPN reports
players are receiving ample compensation for their time on the tour.Bryant is
expected to make $1 million for his participation but there are several over
marquee players who will pull down seven figures. LeBron James(notes), Dwyane
Wade(notes), Derrick Rose(notes), Carmelo Anthony(notes), Chris Paul(notes),
Amare Stoudemire(notes), Chris Bosh(notes), Rajon Rondo(notes), Russell
Westbrook(notes), Carlos Boozer(notes), Paul Pierce(notes) and Kevin Love(notes)
are the major draws listed in Broussards story. This beats the alternative for
Bryant. Lakers fans expected the worst if he would have signed with a Turkish
team or an Italian team in the Euro leagues. Kobe would have been a marked man
while playing overseas but now he will be playing among his much more talented
peers. This is still not the perfect situation for Bryant. Bryant needs to work
with the new young Lakers rookies who will need veteran coaching and leadership
to prepare for their first NBA season. Young point guard Darius Morris(notes)
and combo guard Andrew Goudelock(notes) need to integrate with the Lakers
veteran players if they plan on making the 12-man roster.Kobe Bryant will be an
integral aspect of Morris training but he cannot work with the rookie if he is
barnstorming the world. Bryant can mold Morris into a point guard he will feel
comfortable playing with as a teammate. Without much practice together the two
will not mesh well and it will set Morris back in his first year with the
team.*Todd Jacobs is a Southern California native and longtime Los Angeles

A healthy dose of gratitude is in order for some of the participants in the
labor negotiations that feature the NBA Commissioner and owners, and
representatives from the union side. NBA Commissioner David
SternWikimedia Commons Firstly, to label these so-called talks
"labor" negotiations is uproariously funny or unrelentingly
depressing, depending on your point of view. When does the
"labor" part take place, exactly? Perhaps it occurs when these
athletes are holed up on the road in accommodations usually reserved for
royalty. It could also refer to the actual games in which the players are
required to perform in front of people who idolize them. Maybe not. It might be
the unwieldy responsibility they have in insuring all of the cars, jewelry and
other valuables they purchase by virtue of their insufferable contracts.Anyway,
hearty thanks are extended to the mediator, who last week managed to bring to an
abrupt halt any remaining civility that might have existed between players and
owners. Everyone knows he had an impossible task, but diminishing a process
already in a diminished state takes some skill. Also, as always, we are forever
indebted to David Stern, resident NBA Commissioner for pursuing and landing a
position of arrogance rarely observed in public by a person in a
"leadership" position. By the way, he was commissioner when
the last contract was signed. So he was busy hammering out the details then on a
deal that so infuriates him today. If a new collective bargaining agreement
includes a new commissioner, Im willing to wait. And, of course, enormous thanks
are offered to Billy Hunter and the rest of the player union representatives for
somehow missing the obvious final result. Theres no way the players are going to
force the owners to capitulate. NBA franchises are toys in a vast play chest for
these absurdly wealthy owners. The dough theyll miss due to a lost season
probably translates to one fewer

Memphis council seeks to recover lost NBA revenue MEMPHIS, Tenn. AP -
The Memphis City Council is asking its attorney to explore options for recovery
of revenue lost during the NBA lockout.A resolution adopted Tuesday says that
the cancellation of the NBA season's first two weeks has caused the city to lose
revenues that are used to pay the debt service on bonds issued by the city's
sports authority to build the FedExForum, and public revenues may have to be
used to cover the shortfall. The bonds are paid with revenue streams related to
the NBA, including tickets and concessions to Memphis Grizzlies games. The
Commercial Appeal has reported that, with the revenue loss associated with a
season-long lockout, projections show the current surplus fund of 10.8 million
would be gone in time for the senior bonds' Nov. 1, 2022, payment.
Magic pokes fun at LeBron's playoff woes Magic Johnson poked fun
at LeBron James' playoff woes during Johnson's speaking engagement at the
University at Albany on Saturday, according to multiple media reports. It
began when Johnson was asked which of his accomplishments he would prefer as his
legacy. "That's easy: Putting people to work in minority communities," Johnson
said. "There's going to always be great players in basketball. There's going to
always be guys who win championships in the NBA, except LeBron ..." That
evoked some laughter, and although Johnson said he was kidding, he continued.
"Everybody's always asking, 'Who is better between Kobe Bryant and LeBron?' I'm
like, Are you kidding me? I'm like you're kidding me ... Kobe, five
championships; LeBron, zero. "I love the young man, though. I know he's going
to get better in the fourth quarter this year. I'm not hating on LeBron. He's a
triple-double threat every single game and he's going to get better." Johnson
dismissed comparisons between James and Michael Jordan. "Come on, man, six
championships for Jordan. You know that Michael averaged over 30 points every
playoff series? Don't try to touch that," he said.
NBA players, owners meeting with mediator NEW YORK AP - NBA players and
owners met for more than 14 hours with a federal mediator, hoping to deliver the
progress Commissioner David Stern says is needed to avoid canceling more
games. The talks started about 10 a.m. Tuesday. Stern sought immediate results in
just one day of mediation, saying during interviews last week that proposals
could get worse and more games could be lost without a deal."If there's a
breakthrough, it's going to come on Tuesday," he told NBA TV. "And if not, I
think that the season is really going to potentially escape from us because we
aren't making any progress."This was the longest negotiating session since
owners locked out players when the old collective bargaining agreement expired
at the end of the day June 30.In another interview, Stern told WFAN radio in New
York that his "gut" was there wouldn't be NBA games on Christmas if the 110th
day of the lockout ended without a deal.Large gaps remain, with both sides
seeking 53 percent of basketball revenues and players opposing owners' attempts
to significantly change the salary cap system.George Cohen, who was appointed
director of the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service in 2009, met with the
sides individually at their offices Monday before both brought their full
bargaining committees to a hotel Tuesday. The union said it wanted to have the
whole week set aside for negotiations, but owners have two days of board
meetings beginning Wednesday.Stern wants to be able to bring them a deal. If
not, they may have to discuss further cancellations after the first two weeks of
the season were already wiped out.Cohen was present for talks between NFL owners
and players for 16 days in February and March before that mediation broke off.He
previously helped broker a deal between Major League Soccer and its players and
was lead lawyer for the baseball players' union when it won an injunction
against its owners in 1995, ending the 7 1/2-month strike.
The Difference Between Replica and Authentic Jerseys Big sports
fans know that wearing a jersey to the game is all a part of the experience. A
jersey represents not only support of a team, but also the pride one has for the
game itself. As such, wearing the right one is all about the logo, style, and
authenticity. Sports jerseys and fan-wear come in all shapes and forms, but
authentic and replica jerseys are most common, and the difference between the
two might not appear obvious at first. Below are some pros and cons of each to
help with making the decision on what kind of jersey to wear.Sometimes called
Semi-Pro Jerseys or Non-Authentic, the replica jerseys are just that: a copy of
a jersey players wear in the game. It is important to note, however, that a
"semi-pro" replica is usually a lot higher quality than one just labeled as a
"replica." The difference lies in the type of material used. They are not made
of the same quality of fabric nor the same type of logos found on a jersey a
player would wear on the field, court, or ice. They are not meant to be played
in as they are more prone to ripping and tearing. An example of this can be seen
in ice hockey jerseys: replicas are not double sewn at the elbows like
authentic, game-ready jerseys are.Such minor details make a jersey more durable
and last longer on a field, but are not necessarily affected by normal wear.
Replicas are made by mainstream companies, like Reebok and Nike, and can be
licensed by the team itself, making it an official replica. On the other hand,
it could be a knock-off made overseas. This leads to the main attractive feature
of a replica jersey: price. Usually under $100, replicas will be able to outfit
a fan of any sport in a decent manner. However, the price comes at a lack of
detail on the jersey and a few shortfalls compared to an authentic jersey. An
authentic jersey can also be called a game worn or team issued uniform if they
were actually worn by the players themselves. As a result, the quality of the
jersey is much more fitted to punishment. Heavy mesh, double padded shoulders or
elbows, thicker embroidering on names and numbers all come as a stark contrast
to the light material and printed lettering of a replica. In addition, authentic
jerseys lack a company logo (like Nike) and instead usually have the league
logo, whether it be an NHL shield or NFL symbol. All in all, the only con is the
price, as they can run several hundred dollars for a single jersey.
Choosing RV Satellite Dishes: What Option Is Best? Ah, the great outdoors!
Campfires out under the stars, picnic food, long walks along wooded trails,
nature in all her glory, watching the NFL Game of The Week or the latest movie
releases on your 42in flat screen---wait, something is not right here. Rugged
pioneer style camping is fine and great, but if you've made the commitment
towards traveling in a Motorhome, 5th Wheel or large trailer, you've already
made the commitment to bring the comfort of home with you, so why not watch what
you like to watch? There are a number of options to view your favorite shows
whilst on the road. Just as at your permanent base, you have the option of
viewing local or terrestrial originated signals, or satellite service. For many
years RV's came with a pop up antenna, or it was an added on option, that would
allow you to possibly receive local network affiliated stations, depending on
locale, weather, etc. This is still a great option to keep; even you have or
will have a satellite receiver, so you can receive local programming if
needed. However, it is important to remember that since 2010 all licensed
broadcast providers are required to send their signals in Digital and older
antennas, televisions will not receive that signal unless the proper upgrade box
or digital ready television is hooked into the system. If that is questionable
you can always consult your RV parts dealer or a reputable electronics
retailer. The best option for receiving television while on the road is by
satellite. Long gone are the days of the 12ft monster dish taking up space in
your yard. The small digital dishes that are for home use now are perfect for
travel. There are two types available at the present-portable and roof mounted.
All satellite dishes have the same basic components- a parabolic receiving dish
to collect and converge the satellite signal, an arm and a LNB (or feed horn
form the old days) that convert the signals into the needed type per your
service. There the similarities stop-Portable- the dish is placed on a tripod or
other type of portable stand. Upon arrival the dish is assembled, situated,
cabled, and the proper direction and azimuth are found. The advantages are the
dishes are of a lower cost and can be placed anywhere in the site with a clear
line of sight; disadvantages are they are subject to being bumped or tipped
over, cabling is external and because of their value they are ripe for
theft.Roof Top Mounted Dishes come in two types-Folding Parabolic Dishes- these
are just like the portable dishes, but are mounted permanently on the roof and
probably cabled as well. On arrival unfold and lock in place, locate properly
(some dishes have a motorized carriage that will move automatically with the
receiver set-up). These are for stationary usage only that is they cannot be use
while moving on the road. The current cream of the dish set is a dome dish. These
are a mounted small parabolic assemblage inside a plastic housing, maybe 18-24
inches in diameter and less than a foot in height. These domes have a lower
profile for less drag in the wind, are weather protected, and some can even be
used while traveling because the signal is being constantly adjusted to the
correct setting. They do cost more but their advantages should be considered
before making a purchase. Some other points to keep in mind before making a
decision:Most newer RVs are wired internally for cable television- what you need
to check on is if your vehicle is wired for satellite as well, because there is
a difference. Regular television cable, RG59 is not robust enough for satellite
signals, which commonly use RG 6. Make sure what your vehicle has within its
system. You should avoid at all costs hooking your satellite service into the
VCR/Cable wiring. An experienced RV Media Tech should be consulted if you have
questions.Receiving High Definition signals- once you go HD, you never want to
go back, or so they say. Receiving HD in your vehicle depends on a couple of
things- does the antenna receive HD? All new manufactured dishes should, and
many within the last 5 years as well. Does your receiver and service provider
give you that option? That is a question for your particular provider. If wiring
an older vehicle for new technology, there are a number of options that can be
helpful in making a clean install such as wall jacks, installation kits and
signal testers- again, consult your RV dealers for help.To aid in quickly
setting up your portable dish, a digital satellite finder and a compass are
basically essential. Saves yelling 'have we got anything yet?)Service Provider-
this could be a complicated issue and personal at that. With the number of
packages and receivers available take some time to shop for the package that
best suits your needs- things to look for might be access to local programming,
pay-per-view, HD options, DVR service. There are usually hidden costs in certain
unbelievable packages, so buyers beware. You should be able to plug your home
receiver into your road service with some ease- that is one way to save money,
plus it allows you to bring along your home based DVR with all its stored
programming. Your provider can tell you how to set up your particular receiver
for you dish option you have and the locale. Another option to save money is to
look online for used dishes and receivers- again, your provider should be able
to work with you to make these options work.Turning your traveling vehicle into
a mobile road based media center is really not that complicated and with a
little research, knowledge of your vehicle and good consultant to advise,
choosing a satellite dish can be an easy decision. Popcorn is

Football fans know that third-and-one (both on offense and defense)
is one of the toughest situations to be in. You've got to find a way to pick up
a yard (on offense) to keep the ball or stop the other team from gaining a yard
(on defense) to get the ball.So with the Super Bowl approaching, I thought it
was appropriate to use this analogy as it relates to projects (full disclosure:
this blog post idea was triggered by a quote by Indiana basketball Tom Crean
(below), relating third-and-one to basketball). Why Does Vendor Selection Take So
Long?I've spent nearly a decade working with web projects across all verticals
and everywhere from SMB to the enterprise, and one trend that I'm seeing is that
it's taking longer and longer to identify and select a vendor. And it makes no
sense, honestly. Yes, there are more qualified vendors to choose from these
days, but because of technological advances, our ability to evaluate and score
them has been accelerated as well. So, what can we do to make the vendor
selection process more efficient:Don't ask 20 firms to bid on a project; Find a
list of three to five quality firms that you've identified, and ask them to
participate.Identify any major technological preferences/requirements ahead of
time; If your development team is dead set on a.NET based solution, don't
involve firms that only work in open source.Meet with every vendor; It's so
simple, but is often ignored. I can only put so much into a proposal for you to
look at; but, if we sit down, we can have a productive conversation that will
give you a much better idea as to my experience and capabilities. This can
vastly reduce the amount of time it takes for you to evaluate a vendor. And,
this leads right into my next point...Look em in the eye; It's easy to hide
behind technology these days. Emails can be cleverly crafted. Phone calls can be
planned out (or unanswered). Even instant messages allow vendors to digest the
question and carefully prepare a response. But nothing is as effective as
meeting in person and being able to look someone in the eye to determine if
they're someone you can work with. In many cases, you're looking at a multi-year
engagement, so don't you need to know that you can trust this person before you
sign on the dotted line?Who do you do; Problems will pop up during the course of
the project, they always do. Be sure to choose a vendor that has experience
working on projects of a similar magnitude so that they know how to navigate
through these unforeseen changes during the course of the project.Following
those steps can help speed up the selection process, but what happens when you
get to a third-and-one with your actual project? Why Isn't My Project Moving
Faster?Similar to the course of a football game, there are certain points in
every project that are tougher/more critical than others (the third-and-ones if
you will). It's these milestones that often are the cause of delays, whether
they're on the part of the vendor or on the part of the client. While many
vendors are smart enough to build padding into their timeline to accommodate
unanticipated delays, others will try to win bids by simply proposing the
tightest of deadlines. In either case, here are some things we can do to power
through those third-and-one situations:Establish guidelines; When establishing
the project timeline, outline both development time and client review time so
that everyone has a clear understanding of their responsibilities and the
consequences if deadlines are missed.Identify stakeholders; Knowing who needs to
sign off on what allows your primary point of contact to set expectations in
terms of client review.Don't call FEMA; Identify a resolution path in the event
that scope changes are necessary or the direction of the project changes
midstream - this does happen and being prepared for it makes it smoother for
everyone involved.Talk, talk, talk; Email/IM/Skype/etc. are nice tools, but none
can replace picking up the phone or traveling to meet with your client/vendor.
Talking is still the best way to communicate, so do it early and often.Remember,
you're working together; Even the best marriages can end in divorce. It's
important to remember that you're both working towards the same goal - a
successful project where both parties are happy, and that ideally, leads to a
long-term relationship. So many projects fail because one side becomes upset
with the other and rather than the project experience being an interactive and
collaborative one, it becomes one-sided and resentful. So there you have it, some
good plays to call on third-and-one. I know that adhering to these guidelines is
in no way a guarantee for success, but it's certainly a good place to start.Be
sure to let me know what you do to help reduce vendor selection time and reduce
project delays by commenting below. The Tom Crean quote referenced above, when
talking about his young Indiana team needing to get tougher:"My father-in-law
equates it to third-and-one in football. Third-and-one on defense, it's the
hardest play. Third-and-one on offense, it's the hardest play. Well, there are
certain plays at the rim that are like that in the course of a game. But
third-and-one or third-and-two, however you want to look at it, when it's 2:28
and it's a four point game, we still have to believe that we're going to win the
game. And that's what we've got to grow through." -- Tom Crean on the Hoosiers'
reaction to crunch time vs. Penn State. Crean's father-in-law is Jack Harbaugh,
father of NFL coaches Jim and John Harbaugh.

Soundproofing Hotels: Case Study of the Tundra Lodge In
September 2003, legendary Lambeau Field Stadium in Green Bay, Wisconsin - home
of the famed NFL Green Bay Packers - completed a major $297 million makeover.
The revitalization of the aging sports venue gave business a boost throughout
the area surrounding the stadium. One such beneficiary was the brand new Tundra
Lodge Resort. Just completed and only four blocks down (Coach Vince) Lombardi
Avenue, the two grand openings both welcomed visitors to the revitalized stadium
district. The 161-room Tundra Lodge is a spectacular property in its own right,
with a rustic theme throughout, which includes a crackling fire in a 45-foot
tall lobby fireplace warming the chilly nights of football season, a conference
center for business meetings, an arcade filled with shops, restaurants and
entertainment and a year-round indoor water park with slides, rides and
pools-of-fun for all.Perfectly situated to welcome the loyal "cheese head" Green
and Gold fans - many who repeatedly travel long distances to attend games - at
the grand opening the Tundra Lodge was ready for a big kick-off in every
respect.Penalty: Sound Waves in MotionIn the first few days, the Tundra's
Managing Director of Engineering, Melanie Novinska, watched carefully as guest
rooms began to fill. All went extremely well at first - with only partial
occupancy - but as the Lodge neared full capacity, problems began to surface. At
first, it was only an occasional complaint about ambient noise coming from
adjacent rooms. Then, what began as a trickle of complaints suddenly swelled
into an avalanche of unhappy guests that complained, threatened to check out
early and often demanded refunds."It cost our property a lot of discounted rooms
and certificates for people to give us another try," said Novinska. "The sound
transfer from one guest room to another was not acceptable. Of course, when you
first open any hotel property, business is slow. You don't find the problems
until you're selling lots of rooms and guests are right next to each other."Back
Into a HuddleThe original architect-builder estimated the resilient channel
walls would deliver an STC (Sound Transmission Class) rating of about 50. In
reality, the best performing walls came in at only 37 and the worst were an STC
rating of 34 - only a notch or two above 5/8-inch standard drywall. The lodging
business is heavily impacted by word-of-mouth, and Novinska estimated the sound
isolation issues of the original construction were causing 40% to 50% percent of
normal repeat business to just go away.Since she did not have an architect or
builder who was an expert in architectural acoustics, Novinska set out to
educate herself and find a good solution."I found Serious Materials'
soundproofing drywall online and requested information and a sample. Then, we
put together a solution to fix the problem using that," to replace the resilient
channel, she explains. After verifying the performance of soundproofing drywall
with with Patrick McCormick of Brandner Engineering, contractor H.J. Martin
began removing the original drywall and completely emptying and tearing-down
each of the 161-rooms one suite at a time.An electrician offset formerly
back-to-back outlets and installed insulation where needed. Martin's crew then
screw-mounted the soundproofing drywall and followed up with tape, cosmetic
texture and new paint. "We were able to complete about six to eight rooms every
five days", Novinska recalls.Score!"Before, sound transmission was really bad,"
notes H.J. Martin drywall installer Jay Hussong. "You could hear conversations
right through the walls. After, we measured the rooms at STC 50 or better. You
could really hear (or not hear) the difference.""All noise complaints ended,"
states Novinska. "The difference was amazing and occupancy rates went up.
Serious Materials' soundproofing drywall was the perfect solution.""Start with
Serious Materials' soundproofing drywallinstead of resilient channels and
properly position your outlets and any other openings on back-to-back
guestrooms, and you'll get quiet rooms," she adds.Novinska's final advice: "Also
hire a builder who knows about isolating sound."
NFL best and worst: Super Bowl rematches not so tasty Worst
Super Bowl rematch: Hard to believe it's been two seasons since the Saints
prevailed over the Colts in Super Bowl XLIV. They had a much easier time in
Sunday night's 62-7 Peyton-less laugher, outgaining Indy 557-252. The tarnished
lining of a gorgeous cloud: RB Mark Ingram (ankle) was dinged and QB Drew
Brees' four-game run of 350-yard-plus passing games came to an end as he was
yanked early.Streaking ... the wrong way: Now mired at 0-7 -- their first
seven-game slide since 1997, the year before Peyton Manning was drafted -- the
Colts will fail to win 10 regular-season games for the first time since 2001,
ending a historic run.Best Super Bowl rematch: The Steelers also decked the
Cards again in their Super Bowl XLIII redux. It was no '58 Championship Game --
Pittsburgh won 32-20 Sunday -- but it was better than Colts-Saints.Woodshed:
Steelers OLB LaMarr Woodley now has 5.5 sacks in the three games Pittsburgh has
played without fellow star OLB James Harrison (broken orbital bone).Quietest 5-2
start by an AFC champion: Maligned for a 2-2 start that included an opening day
lashing from the Ravens, the Steelers have won three straight with a defense
ranked No. 2 overall.Rating among the greats: With a season-best passer rating
for one weekend (146.5 at Minnesota on Sunday), Packers QB Aaron Rodgers has now
eclipsed a 110.0 score through seven starts, extending his own NFL record to
start a season. Rodgers' level now stands at 125.7 for 2011, which would eclipse
Peyton Manning's record (121.1 in 2004) if he can maintain it.Tebow time: It
wasn't pretty, but Broncos QB Tim Tebow caused a stir in his first start of
2011. Denver was scoreless after three quarters, but Tebow led them to 18
straight while throwing two fourth-quarter TDs and scoring on a game-tying
two-point conversion with 17 seconds to go as the Dolphins defense parted like a
white sea. Broncos K Matt Prater secured the 18-15 win in OT with a 52-yard FG
after a fumble by Miami QB Matt Moore as Denver became the first team since the
1970 AFL-NFL merger to overcome a 15-point deficit with fewer than three minutes
left in regulation. Tebow, who completed three of eight passes for 24 yards
through three quarters, was the only one of the six new starting quarterbacks
league-wide Sunday who won. Most productive receptions: Jets WR Plaxico Burress
caught just four passes for 25 yards, but three went for TDs in Sunday's 27-21
come-from-behind win vs. the Chargers. It was the second time Burress snared
three TDs in his career, the other coming Sept. 9, 2007, when he was a member of
the Giants.Lords of the ring-less: After a week of coast-to-coast back-and-forth
with Norv Turner after he reached for retroactive rings with the Chargers, Jets
coach Rex Ryan proved victorious on Sunday vs. the Bolts. San Diego hired Turner
instead of Ryan in 2007 -- Ryan opined earlier in the week that he might have
won multiple rings if the Chargers had hired him -- though neither coach has yet
to win a Super Bowl as a head coach (they've both gotten hardware as
assistants). During his 2009 rookie season, Ryan's Jets knocked Turner's
top-seeded Chargers out of the playoffs in the divisional round.Best milestone
by a running back: Jets RB LaDainian Tomlinson caught his 600th career pass
Sunday, making him the fourth back to reach the plateau.Best milestone by a
tight end: Falcons TE Tony Gonzalez caught five passes Sunday, giving him 1,104
for his career and vaulting him past Marvin Harrison (1,102) and Cris Carter
(1,101) for second all-time in the category behind Hall of Famer Jerry Rice
(1,549).Burner reignited: Falcons RB Michael "The Burner" Turner has 54 carries,
261 yards and two TDs over the past two weeks and Atlanta has won both games
to right its season after a 2-3 start.Staff infection? Detroit QB Matthew
Stafford limped off the field with an apparent leg injury shortly before the
Lions limped to the locker room with their second consecutive loss after a 5-0
start. With RB Jahvid Best already sidelined by concussions, the team can hardly
afford to lose Stafford for an extended period. He claimed he could have
returned to the game if needed.Worst TD spike: Lions WR Calvin Johnson got back
into the end zone Sunday after getting shut out a week ago. However, he lost the
ball on his way up to spike it over the goalpost. The Romanian judge gave him a
0.0.Best spike on a TD that didn't count: Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe thought he'd
scored on a 16-yard throw from Matt Cassel and reverse spiked the ball toward
Raiders fans in the Black Hole and was summarily showered with numerous
substances. Alas, the ball was down at the 1. Le'Ron McClain ran it in from
there.Worst day to be Jason Campbell: The injured Raiders quarterback watched
replacements Kyle Boller and newly acquired Carson Palmer combine for six INTs
as Oakland suffered a 28-0 shutout at the hands of Kansas City. Palmer, who
hadn't taken an in-game snap in nine months, made the first relief appearance of
his nine-year career. Adding injury to Campbell's injury along with the
proverbial insult, Raiders RB Darren McFadden lasted two carries before going
down with a foot sprain. He'd probably accept a new deal in Euros: Even as he
anxiously waits for the Bears to extend his expiring contract, RB Matt Forte's
price tag continued to go up. He entered Sunday's game in London vs. the
Buccaneers leading the league in yards from scrimmage (908) while on pace to be
the third player in history with both 1,000 rushing and receiving yards in the
same season. Forte added 183 more total yards Sunday, including a 32-yard TD
gallop.Revoke my passport: Bucs QB Josh Freeman made his first career
regular-season appearance in London in 2009, mopping up a 35-7 loss to the
Patriots. Sunday, he threw four INTs, his worst showing since he was picked five
times Dec. 6, 2009, his fifth NFL start.Best backfield: Texans QB Matt Schaub
passed for 296 yards and two TDs while backfield mates Arian Foster and Ben Tate
each eclipsed 100 yards on the ground. Foster actually churned out 115 rushing
yards and two TDs to go along with 119 receiving yards and another score as
Houston definitively reclaimed first place in the AFC South with a 41-7
throttling of the Titans in Nashville.Backfield change? Though Tennessee QB Matt
Hasselbeck had a rough day -- 14-for-30, 104 yards, TD, two INTs -- he currently
doesn't seem to be the weak link in his own backfield. RB Chris Johnson
struggled once again, rushing for just 18 yards while being outgained by backup
Javon Ringer (31 yards). Johnson now has 268 yards in six games, putting him on
pace for 715 this season despite the eight-figure extension he signed just prior
to the season.Best day by a rookie: Cowboys RB DeMarco Murray racked up a
franchise single-game record 253 rushing yards (on just 25 carries) -- eclipsing
Emmitt Smith's mark (237) -- and may have Wally Pipp-ed injured Felix Jones as
Dallas dumped St. Louis 34-7.We need Pujols: The Rams have scored 20 points in
their last three games. The St. Louis Cardinals scored 20 runs in the first
three games of the World Series.Ugliest game of the day: Had to be Seahawks at
Browns. Seattle had two first downs while Leon Washington's 81-yard score off a
punt return was negated by an illegal block. The teams combined for just 435
yards of offense (137 by the 'Hawks) and zero TDs. Throw in 15 penalties and two
blocked FGs blocked by Seattle, and you ge the idea. But Dumbest play of the
day: Seahawks DL Red Bryant head-butted Browns TE Alex Smith with 1:05 left in
the game after Seattle DE Chris Clemons sacked Colt McCoy on third-and-7. But
Bryant was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct, ejected and Cleveland got a
fresh set of downs kneel on the ball.Still winless after all these years: Now in
his fifth NFL season, Redskins QB John Beck made his fifth pro start Sunday
but first since his rookie year in 2007 when he was a member of the Dolphins.
But his record dropped to 0-5 despite throwing for 279 yards and one TD while
running for another score. Beck fumbled once and was picked off once -- fewer
giveaways than the man he replaced, Rex Grossman, had last week -- but it was
too much against the Panthers and rookie QB Cam Newton, who now has two more
wins under his belt than Beck.

And with four catches today, he would move intosecond in league history. Gonzalez ranks fourth with 1,099 catchesand could pass Cris Carter (1,101) and Marvin Harrison (1,102). ButGonzalez, 35, likely won't be able to catch Jerry Rice (1,549)before he hangs it up.Times wires and Foxsports.com contributed to this report. JoeSmith can be reached at joesmith@sptimes.com They say the backupquarterback is the fans' favorite player. After all, it's easy tocriticize the starting quarterback, the most-scrutinized and, arguably, most important player on a team. Several coaches alreadyhave used a quick hook this season. Previously, Kerry Collins wasreplaced by Curtis Painter in Indianapolis and fellow veteran LukeMcCown by Blaine Gabbert in Jacksonville. Today, three moreveterans head to the bench.Something to PonderDonovan McNabb's plan to resurrect his career hit a wall for thesecond straight season. After three years of trying to cull magicout of aging veterans (see: Brett Favre), Minnesota is giving thekeys to 2011 first-round pick Christian Ponder. He will be thefirst quarterback since the 49ers' Steve Spurrier in 1967 whosefirst start comes against an unbeaten team with six or more wins, according to Elias Sports Bureau. McNabb, who turns 35 on Nov. 25,had a 60.3 completion percentage and just two interceptions. Butthe Vikings blew double-digit leads in their first three games. "Ihave a lot of football left," he said. "At the end of the year, that will be something I look at and see what's next. The focus isnow; how I can prepare myself and get ready as well as continue toget better."Tebow TimeFor all the drama and legend that has surrounded Tim Tebowduring his career, today could be another storybook moment for theformer Gators star. Tebow, a first-round pick in 2010, replacesKyle Orton, who turns 29 on Nov. 14, for the Broncos. He has madefor increased jersey sales and a large crowd in Miami, where he ledFlorida to a national title in January 2009. And with that Gatorsteam set to be recognized at halftime, Tebow could steal the showwith a great performance. And South Florida Sun-Sentinel writerCraig Davis points out it could be an embarrassment for thestruggling Dolphins: "It could be the finaldagger for the Tony Sparano/Jeff Ireland regime and cue the chorusof crickets at Sun Life for the remainder of the season."Beck's BreakJohn Beck and Rex Grossman battled throughout Redskins trainingcamp for the starting job with Grossman, 31, getting the nod. Butas Beck says, "Things change in the blink of an eye." And withGrossman tossing nine interceptions over the first five games -tied for the NFL lead - coach Mike Shanahan made the switch to the2007 second-round pick. Beck will make his first start since hisrookie season with the Dolphins. "I have a lot ofconfidence in John Beck because he does have that mobility, thatstrong arm," Shanahan said. "I'm not going to be putting him in theHall of Fame yet, but I really do believe he's got a lot oftalent." Jeremy

N.J. (AP)Facing his former team made LaDainian Tomlinson sick.Literally.The veteran running back, who spent his first nine NFL seasonswith San Diego before leaving as a free agent for New York, got hisfirst start of the season Sunday. He hung around as long as hecould before leaving with the flu, and didn't play a role as theJets rallied for a 27-21 victory.''I woke up this morning feeling pretty bad, but was able topush through as long as I could,'' Tomlinson said. ''I basicallydidn't have any energy and the flu really just took over.''Tomlinson finished with five rushes for 14 yards and threereceptions for 37. He went over 600 career catches, but it was hisbackfield partner, Shonn Greene, who had the biggest impact with112 yards rushing, averaging 5.6 yards a carry.Jets coach Rex Ryan praised LT for even getting on thefield.''Before the game, he was ill, it looked like NASCAR comingin,'' Ryan said. ''Like getting four tires and gas, they were allworking on him.''Tomlinson said during the week he held no bitterness toward theChargers, who had little interest in retaining him after the '09season. The 2006 league MVP came to New York, had a solid seasonlast year and has been a key figure in the locker room for hisleadership.''I wasn't going to treat it like a playoff game because bothteams are going to continue to play the rest of their schedule,''he said. ''But I'd be lying if I said this didn't add somesatisfaction. Just moving on, you never really get to close thatchapter until you face them, and the win makes it evenbetter.''Earlier, Jets starting linebacker David Harris returned in thethird quarter after injuring his left ankle. Harris left late inthe second quarter, did some drills on the sideline at halftime andgot back on the field as the period wound down.Rookie defensive tackle Kenrick Ellis also left with an ankleinjury in the opening quarter. He didn't return.San Diego left tackle Marcus McNeill and running back RyanMathews both returned late in the second quarter after leaving withinjuries.McNeill went down on a running play with an undisclosed injury, but eventually walked to the sideline and sat on the Chargers'bench. He was replaced by Brandyn Dombroski before coming back infor San Diego's third series of the half. But McNeill sat out most of the second half and the Chargersrefused to reveal the nature of his injury.Early in the second period, Mathews went back to the locker roomwith a thumb injury, but he also came back on that thirdseries.Albert

Three Steps to Become a World Class Network Marketing Leader, Part 1
My friend Mickey calls me on occasion when he passes through Lexington, Kentucky. As an NFL scout, he visits dozens of universities in the South Eastern United States scouting talent to help his team win another Superbowl. He knows talent when he sees it.When my daughter was a teenager, I took Mickey by for a chat with the local high school team. They were impressed when he reach his ham-sized hand into his trousers pocket and produced three Superbowl rings. In eleven years Mickey built an impressive career as an offensive tackle. But the story of his success is in the details of his preparation. How many people do you know who want to be in business for themselves? How many of those have taken the risk to actually start a business, and failed? If you are a network marketer, you have probably tried a number of opportunities, only to give up in frustration and failure. It must be talent and hard work and you do not have one or both. What if I told you it was neither?Mickey's story is important because even though he was a starting tackle on the greatest offense the Oakland Raiders ever fielded, you have probably never heard of him. Mickey Marvin was a standout in high school and every football fan in the region was abuzz about his "talent". He went on to play at the University of Tennessee from where he was drafted by the Raiders. Well known in high school and college for his speed as a big man, he proved to be the slowest on the Raiders offensive line. So, how likely is it that the slowest player on the Raiders greatest offensive line would hold on to win three Superbowl rings? Not very."There were many players more talented than I," Mickey told me once. "After a couple of years, the Raiders brought in younger, faster replacement for me every season. Each would get hurt or not fit the balance and rhythm of the offense. I got a chance to prove myself again and again."Mickey Marvin was not the most talented offensive lineman in professional football nor on the Raiders team. What made the difference? How was he able to succeed when so many more talented players failed? The answer is in your perception of talent.Geoffrey Colvin in his book Talent Is Overrated, makes the point from research that neither talent nor hard work are the deciding factors in world class success, at least talent as we normally understand it. Most people perceive talent to be that extraordinary ability a few great performers are born with. You will not succeed because you did not have the good fortune to inherit the right genes, you don't have a genius IQ or you lack the physical strength. If that perception is correct chances are you will not be a world-class performer in any chosen field. However, what if your perception is wrong? In fact, Colvin makes the case from research your perception is indeed wrong.World-class performers have just a few things in common that distinguish them from the average. Follow their lead and you can become a world-class businessperson, network marketer and leader. These practices are not about self-help, developing a better attitude or memorizing a script. The steps I lay out for you in part two of this article will change your performance by introducing you to systems that when followed, will result in consistent improvement.Mickey Marvin's eleven-year career, as a professional football player was not the product of accident, genetics or luck. He was successful because he systematically practiced the core skills of his profession. You can too. Matt

Somewhere among the devastation from a murderous tornado laid the body of a man's son. Alone and waiting for a resting place for his soul, Lantz Hare was discovered by EMTs and transported to a temporary home. A cold above ground tomb was to be his holdi
There has been a great deal of speculative talk among experts in the medical field as to whether the homeopathic HCG diet program works or not. In the eyes of supporters the results are unparalleled by any other weight loss plan. In fact in some cases, according to diet experts, HCG diets will help you to lose on average, 5 pounds a week without lifting a single finger. For years obesity has been a topic of discussion among the global community. However the advent of new tools and strategies has been at the forefront of the conversation as health professional look to put an end to this epidemic. The use of the Body Mass Index or BMI has discovered that record numbers were far more overweight than initially anticipated. Much of which has to do with binging or inconsistencies in workouts and eating plans.BMI compares and computes body weight and height and determines whether you are fit or not based on average metrics. The problem with this system is that people with similar heights and weights can mean different things. A 6' 4" 300 pound NFL lineman who is muscular and fit for obvious reasons is not the same as a 6' 4" 300 mail clerk.Standing tall above the hype and speculation, homeopathic HCG has shown its effectiveness. Yet, as in all stories there are two sides. I'd have to say, that at this point the research suggests strongly that homeopathic HCG is the real deal. A trial given to a group of test subjects showed that giving them the 500 calorie diet had no negative effect on them. In fact there were no signs of hunger. The widespread popularity of homeopathic HCG online places you as a customer in a terrific position. Multiple companies ensure a competitive market in which you should be able to purchase it for a very good price. Some things to consider when making a decision on which company you will purchase from include customer service support, discounts, shipping and handling costs, as well as delivery promises. The faster you're able to start the path toward improving your life, the better. But with any diet plan, consulting with your doctor should be the first thing that you do. Find out what your limitations are and what diet is right for you. Aside from that establish benchmark goals that reasonable and achievable in time.cheap nfl jerseys china, Brian

One of the biggest fallacies that made its way into training circles in my lifetime is the idea that you cannot train speed in athletes. Most coaches are content to accept an athlete for where they are and the speed they have. This may in fact be the biggest lie that has been touted as fact in all of training. Today we are going to break down this myth and expose the truth about speed training.Sprinting is a motor patternWhy is the above title something that needs to be recognized? The reason is because any person can improve a motor pattern. This is actually the easiest way to improve speed in an individual - all it takes is getting out and sprinting! Most athletes have not devoted enough time to developing their sprinting muscles like they do their bench pressing muscles. How are you supposed to improve your speed if you never sprint!? Rule #1: You need to practice the movementMost people neglect arm actionHave you ever noticed an athlete who is pumping their arms hard trying to move as fast as possible? Do you notice what most of them do? They don't pump their arms from their same side ear to their hip. What a lot of athletes do is pump their arms across the body; and this action puts a lot of time on the stop watch. It is important to develop proper arm function in training, as to maximize forward momentum. Rule #2: Develop proper arm action.Spinning your wheelsAnother common trait to see in athletes is the perception that they are moving fast, but when you check the stop watch they couldn't have been moving slower. Too often people assume quick feet with fast - another mistake. In order to improve your speed it is important to develop a high level of ground force with each step (increasing the power you push into the ground to propel you forward). This will equate to less steps, but more ground covered with each step. Rule #3: Increase power and stride length - less is more. You need to start to finishThe part of a 40 yard dash that takes the most amount of time to cover distance is the first 10 yards. This is because you are going from a dead stop into full acceleration. Also, the most technical aspects are performed during the initial start. With so much going on at the start most people don't know where to start, but this is where the biggest gains are seen. If I have a player who runs a 5.0 40 yard dash and a 2.1 second initial 10 yards - I see a player who could be very fast. Why? They run the last 30 yards in 2.9 seconds. Just looking at the overall 40 doesn't show this, but looking deeper we see their start is terrible. If we change their starting stance, improve their first step, and develop proper body position, we can probably take half a second off of this 40. Now we have a 4.5 40 yard dash and immediately a faster player. Rule #4: Start technique is the most important technique to master.Starting StrengthSay our previous example was a cornerback who weighed 170 lbs, and with the techniques we have used, we have immediately changed the perception of his speed and ability. Well if the technique and mechanics are now correct the next thing we need to focus on is the power per pound this athlete has. Let say that our athletes max squat right now is 275 lbs at 170 lbs of body weight. This is about 1.6 times body weight - pretty good for a high school athlete. However, let's say we are able to double body weight in the squat and our athlete now does 340 lbs in the squat. This improvement in strength will allow our athlete to increase his force development, and apply more power per step. How much can this improve our speed? For an athlete running a 4.5 this may take another.1 off the 40, which is millions of dollars at the NFL level. Rule #5: Maximize strength to body-weight ratioWrap UpI was an athlete plagued by the "He's just slow" label when I was younger - running a horrible 5.8 second 40 as a 14 year old in high school. By college, I had shrunk that time down to a 4.72 at a body weight above 225. What would have happened had I learned more about speed earlier in my playing career? I will never know, but don't allow the myth of speed training to keep you from improving, you can always get better. Take these rules and apply yourself to being the best you can at each one - more speed will be in your future.Aaron
