Medvedev defends its independence in meeting with South Ossetian separatist leader
Moscow, Aug 13 .- The Russian president, Guild Wars 2 gold Dmitri Medvedev, today dnded the
independence of the Georgian region of South Ossetia during a meeting with the
separatist leader, Eduard Kokoity, dedicated to the reconstruction of the
territory.
"The recognition of the independence of the republic was hard and accurate.
The two years that have passed since then showed the need (that decision)," said
Medvedev in the resort of Sochi (Black Sea), according to Russian news agencies.
Medvedev, who visited last Saturday also separatist Abkhazia on the occasion
of second anniversary of the Russian-Georgian war for control of South Ossetia
(8-12 August 2008), says Russia not change its position on the secession of both
territories of Georgia.
"Between Russia and South Ossetia is close and friendly relations. The basis
of the relationship is the friendship and cooperation agreement" signed after
the war, he said.
For its part, the Kremlin Kokoity thanked "the people live for the second
year in peace" and that "Russian border guards to ensure stability."
"The ongoing reconstruction process," he added.
According to the newspaper "Kommersant", the Kremlin is unhappy with the pace
of reconstruction in the small territory of Caucasus, Russia and gave her 28,000

Kokoity blamed Russian and Ossetian officials for delays in the work of

authorities of corruption.
