This work studied the current progress in ultra micro-crushing, and proposed
a new model of ultra-high pressure crusher. This new model will fulfill the need
for ultra high pressure crusher technology, realize the auto control of
ultra-high pressure crusher and developed the supervisory control software.
First, we made some modification to over come some defects of conventional
ultra-high pressure crusher. We designed a new type ultra-high pressure crusher
with oil hydraulic pressure. It employs by turns work of two pistons to add
pressure to material and reduce pressure fluctuant. The local control system was
developed based the designed ultra-high pressure crusher. It employs PLC as
central control, collect system information by transducer and keep the stability
of system pressure by adjusting the sequence of the pistons. This helps to
realize the automatc control of ultra-high pressure crusher. This machine can be
operated both manually when adjusting the equipment and automatically during
routine work.
Supervisory control software was compiled with vc, thus realize the remote
monitoring of the machine. With the system real-time pressure value collected by
a pressure sensor, this system collects signals to supervisory control computer,
in whicb the pressure is described with dynamic curves and the real-time
information of pressure is stored into access database. The ultra-high pressure
crusher with PLC and supervisory controlling is able to work stable under the
working pressure as high as 200MPa.

The mesh shape directly influences the effective area of the screen. The
effective area, also called effective screen surface, refers to the ratio
between the sieve mesh area and the geometric area of the screen surface. The
larger the screen effective area is, the more screen meshes there will be on the
unit screen surface, and meanwhile the bigger probability of materials passing
through the screen mesh there will be. Thus, the production capacity and the
screening efficiency will be higher.
In the screening operations, the commonly used mesh shapes include round,
square and rectangle. The sieve mesh of the perforated screen surface is round,
while the woven screen surface is with rectangular hole and square hole.
Practice has proved that screen surface with different mesh shapes has different
effective screen surface areas, and at the same time the probability of mineral
grains passing through the screen mesh is different as well. In general, the
rectangular screen mesh has the biggest effective area followed successively by
square mesh and round mesh. Therefore, the productive capacity of unit screen
surface area becomes smaller according to the above order. One of the
rectangular meshs advantages is that the sieve mesh is difficult for
clogging.
Finally, the mesh shapes should match the shapes of the materials. Generally
speaking, the lump materials should adopt the square hole, while the plate
materials should select the rectangular hole. The mesh size and grain size are
determined according to the following formula: dmax=ka.
