Are you the one is an United States reality television show on MTV. It's actually a dating contest in which 10 boys and 10 girls have to find their perfect match within 10 weeks. If they complete this challenge, they win the lucrative sum of 1 million dollars or 50000 dollars each.
In advance all the participants have to fill in a comprehensively questionnaire. Afterwards the makers of the programme examine the results and with the help of advanced computer software they put 10 couples together who match the best according to the questionnaire. Now it's time to put the 20 young people, all excited to find perfect love and win a lot of money, in the same house, Let the hunt begin!
Each episode consist of 4 parts. First of all there is a challenge, a contest. The 10 girls or boys (one week the boys, one week the girls) have to battle each other to win a date. The 3 winners of the contest can pick the guy/girl they want as their date. The second part is the date, this is always something special for example a walk through the jungle or a huge death ride. While 3 couples are on a date, the others can vote for who they want to go in 'the truth booth'. The truth booth reveals if the couple in it is a match or not. This is the third stage of an episode, after the votes are count, the chosen couple goes immediately in the truth booth and get to know if they're a match or not. If not, this is a wasted chance for everyone because a 'perfect match' makes it a lot easier to find the other matches. Each episode ends with a match ceremony. During this ceremony each boy can pick the girl who he thinks is his perfect match (the other week it's the girls turn). After every boy has chosen his girl, beams of light start to appear. Each beam of light represents a perfect match, unfortunately they don't tell which matches are correct. This makes it a lot harder.
There are always complications for example 2 people who aren't a match fall in love and keep spending time together. This is a waste of time because it makes it harder to find the ten matches which leads to angry housemates.
It's the second season and last year they were able to complete the task.
Without this movie my blog just wouldn't be complete by the simple fact that it's my favourite movie of all time. I think I watched it the first time when I was 16 and ever since I watched it at least 10 times.
The storyline is simple, Jack Tyler got kicked out of school because he fought during an American Football game. In his new school he met a flirtatious girl who invites him to a party later that night. Once arrived at the party he meets the host, Ryan McCarthy. Ryan challenges Jack to fight him. First Jack didn't want to fight but when Ryan makes a prickly note about Jacks deceased dad Jack loses his cool and starts fighting. Unsurprisingly Jack loses against the extremely skilled Ryan. From that moment the hostility between the 2 was born. Jack meets Max, who convinces him to take mix martial art lessons from a real master. The tension between Jack and Ryan keeps growing, ending with a final fight at 'The Beatdown', a local tournament in which the best fighters participate.
The main topic of the movie is mixed martial arts, fighting, but it goes way further than that. You can learn something about relationships, about how to do the good things, how to digest someone's death, and most important how to not surrender when it gets hard or in other words, how to never back down.
When watching this movie I always get adrenaline myself and that's what I like most of it. I would recommend everyone who likes fighting movies to watch this movie. It won't be a dissapointment!
Yesterday I was complete out of energy after a long day of school, so I decided to watch the newest episode of Geordie Shore, which is synonym for 100% relaxation.
Geordie Shore is a British reality television series who shows the life of 5 guys and 4 girls between 20 and 30 years old. The main 3 things these people do is drinking alcohol, partying and making out with girls/boys. Sometimes they have to 'work' which means they have to entertain some partying people what mostly leads to making out with the 'customers'.
The 9th season is now airing on MTV, during the other seasons they made several trips: Mexico, Australia, Spain and one season they visited some big cities in Europe. The other seasons all took place in the British Newcastle. Inside the house there are a lot of discussions and small fights because of the relations between the participants. These 'fights' make it entertaining to watch the series. But if it really matters, they are 1 big group of friends who would do anything for each other.
I love watching Geordie Shore because it's simple entertainment but I also know it isn't really a realistic image they create. Your life can't just exist of getting drunk and partying. Maybe it would be nice for a week, but then I would like to have my old life back.
Yesterday evening, I watched 2 episodes of the Belgian soap 'Thuis'. It's a soap I've been following since I was 5years old. There are a lot of people who think soaps like Thuis and Familie are lame because of their easy storylines and predictable twists and turns. However Thuis is more popular than ever, with more than 1 million viewers a day. There it beats Familie, the eternal 'enemy'(only 600 000-700 000 viewers a day)
It's a soap about the relations between the different characters and after more than 20 years of airing some situations are a bit complex. For example Frank Bomans, he has had a lot of relationships and children with 3 different women.
I think Thuis is not something you watch to learn something or enrich yourself. It's rather 'brainless' amusement when you want to relax or have a cosy experience with your family and although the storyline is sometimes easy predictable or really far-fetched, I still like my daily portion of Thuis because I've been watching it my whole life. I also respect the makers because they keep inventing new storylines.
I'm not a superfan that I have to be in the sofa every day at 8pm to watch the new episode but we record every episode on our digicorder so everyone can watch whenever he wants. If the soap stopped existing, it would feel a little weird because it has become kind of a habit.
Today was a memorable day in my 'TV-life', I watched the last episode of the well-known American sitcom 'How I Met Your Mother'. After watching 208 episodes or have spent more than 73 hours on it, it feels quite sad to say goodbye.
The main topic of the series is Ted Mosby (the main character) telling his kids how he met their mother. He does this by telling them all of the adventures he and his four best friends experienced from 2005 till 2014. Each episode treats a subject about the love life, career or friendship between the five friends.
Each character has his own characteristics. My favourite was Barney, he is a stereotypical womanizer-playboy whose biggest fear is marriage. I literally almost died from laughing at the jokes he made. Ted is an architect who desperately wants to find the love of his life, but just keeps dating the wrong girls. Marhall and Lily are the perfect couple, they have been together since high school. At last there is Robin, a Canadian girl working as a news anchor. There is a love triangle between Ted, Barney and Robin.
This is one of my favourite series ever, it always made me laugh and feel good. It was also ideal to clear my head, for example as a break during studying. Besides, there is some serious wisdom incorporated in the series.
I'm sure I'll watch the series once again, because like Barney would've said it: it was legen -wait for it- dary.
I know this is my first update, but if I'm honest I am already cheating a bit because I didn't see the movie on television, but at the movies. The circumstances were great. I was there with my girlfriend, we had a huge box of popcorn and the cinema room was really crowded.
Before watching 'The Maze Runner' I didn't know much about it. The main reason we went looking was because our friends were fond of it.
The least I can say is it wasn't a disappointment. I enjoyed every minute of it and would watch it again right immediately.
Now more on the storyline. The movie takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where some young men are trapped in a certain community called 'the Glade'. Every month a new boy is sent into the glade with a loss of any memory. The Glade is surrounded with a big maze, which makes it impossible for the boys to escape. The moment Thomas, the main character, is sent in everything changes. From the moment he arrives, he is very curious to discover each detail about his new living place. At first the others are a little suspicious because he is 'the greenie'(the newbie) and he starts to disturb their way of living. But then something amazing happens, he is the first one ever to survive a night in the maze and from that moment the real adventure starts. I won't spoil anything but it ends with a cliffhanger because there will be 2 more movies.
Rigth after the movie I was willing to watch the second movie, but unfortunately that was impossible. I'll have to wait till November next year or buy the books because the story is based on a trilogy written by James Dashner.
