World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade Beta Test."" It is clearly about time! Much will happen in the next two months while I figure out how best to deal with being a priest who needs to level and also learn new instances. I think I have died in this zone more than any other. It has been a long time! Being an experienced raiding priest, I have been mostly ""holy spec'd"" since I hit level 60. The first flight point for the Alliance is located here is in Sylvanaar. Before this, I spent my leveling time being mostly ""shadow"". The vendors in this town are very limited. My current gear is composed of the full tier 2 raiding set, with a few pieces of DPS gear that sits in the bank, largely unused. I found a weaponsmith and both a tradesman and general goods vendor, but that was it.This is about to change. At least there is an innkeeper and mailbox here.Benediction becomes Anathema (the priest epic staff quest from Molten Core, for those who don't know) and resist gear goes in the bank to be replaced by my DPS gear. Unlike Buster, I remembered! A quick trip to the Priest trainer shows me I have no new spells available since I already have the spells from the Ruins of Ahn'Qiraj. While working on a called ""The Den Mother"" (sound familiar.Talents talents talents. ) I came across World of Warcraft's interpretation of R2D2 only this guy was called R3DO.Only problem with talents at the moment is where the trainer is to reset them. When I spoke to him he yelled at me, ""WARNING! WARNING! AWAY HOSTILE BEINGS! DO NOT HEAD UP THE RIDGE TO TOSHLEY'S STATION!"" Naturally I went up the hill.I haven't found a Priest trainer in Outlands yet, (and I'm told there isn't one) so a trip to Azeroth is necessary every time I wish to change them around. This was one of those times when I wished I was a Rogue, but I took a deep breath and up I went.Luckily, beta prices for doing a re-spec is only 1 copper. The path was littered with pieces and parts of what looked to be the remains of some of R3DO's relatives. My most likely course of action for running instances will be to hearth back to Azeroth and re-spec Holy before I head in. Cresting the hill I saw what can only be described as Gnomes gone wild.Otherwise, since I'm leveling, it makes sense that I'm a shadow DPS'ing machine. I plan on playing with talents a lot, and I will in a later article give you my impressions of many of the new talents as I get familiar with them. It looked like they had taken every piece of metal they could get their hands on and fashioned it into all kinds of contraptions. For right now, I have put 41 points into various shadow talents, which I keep constantly changing. Gnomes were running everywhere! Sparks were flying from one gnome grinding away on some kind of unexplainable machine.I also spent a few points in the discipline tree so I have a little more health and so that my Power Word: Shield is slightly stronger. As I spend time exploring the various sections of the Outland, I get a bit confused as to which quests are starting where, and where I need to go to turn them in, especially if I haven't been doing a single quest chain. I had only been there a short time when chaos erupted, which should not have surprised me as these were, after all, Gnomes. There are four basic areas that quests on the Hellfire Peninsula start from. Bugs began swarming the town, Gnomes were running everywhere shouting! Why me.Of course you have Honor Hold and I imagine the Horde have quests in Thrallmar. I'm on fire I'm on fire again! Pour it on em This is going to hurt in the morning. Two other quest hubs are located just outside of town on either side. buy wow gold Robots with laser guns blasting, gnomes with death rays were running everywhere as they squelched out the invasion of bugs. The first one is called the East Supply Caravan and the other is in a half destroyed tower just outside of town to the west. It was pure bedlam and I loved every minute of it.The fourth quest hub is at a place called Expedition Point. cheap wow gold After it had calmed down a bit I took a look around for some quest givers.People are constistantly asking for Expedition Point's location, as it is rather small and just out of viewing range. I had the pleasure of meeting Tally Zapnabber who asked me very kindly if I would talk to his Clone… err… twin Rally to take a test flight. It's location is “400 paces to the east”, give or take a stone's throw, which is a less than 30 second ride on an epic mount. mp3 players I winced when I read the description of the quest. The quest hubs are easy to get to once you have your bearings, but they are far enough away that you will find yourself constantly running amongst them trying to figure out which quest is from where. From here I will let the pictures tell the story.Rumor has it a fifth quest hub exists called the Temple of Sha'naar, but I haven't quite gotten that far yet. My favorite quest series so far has got to be the aerial bombing quests. world of warcraft gold The Fishing report I have not found anywhere to fish here in Blade's Edge yet.I won't go into the details of the quests that lead you down this line but they start at the East Supply Caravan and take you to Expedition Point. I did work on my fishing skill a bit and did some spot fishing in Terrokar Forest and Nagrand but did not catch anything to write about. The actual bombing quests are a blast! You fly around on a battle gryphon and literally drop bombs on targets. wow gold Still no luck in finding pure pools either. It may sound plain, or perhaps even boring, but trust me, it is quite fun. I did however investigate a rumor I have been hearing about regarding a non-combat pet called Mr.The last part of the quest line is repeatable and I must admit I have done the quest several times even though there are no rewards beyond the first completion. wow gold Pinchy. The special bombs you need ""from Area 52"" are provided for you, so you can just bomb away to hearts content... Using Mr.I sure did! Not all of the quests are quite as entertaining. wow gold kaufen Pinchy triggers the spell cast ""Make a Wish"".Many are the typical collect thirty pieces of scrap wood and metal, kill 20 bad guys, go talk to the guy next to me because he can't hear me talking to you type quests. Alchemy/Herbalism I finally reached level 65 and 350-skill in Alchemy.I imagine there are only so many things you can come up with as a quest designer, but almost all of the quests I have run across so far are the same old quests we have become used to.

My mind immediately envisioned cool and temperate forests with tall looming trees; sadly, I was disappointed. The scenic terrain is composed of rolling hills in an oak savannah setting. The city of Shattarath is an oasis in the middle of one eyesore of a forest, and a huge waste of nothingness in the South appropriately named ""The Bone Wastes"".Think Barrens with a lot of oak trees. I got the opporunity to do my part as many of the bones you will see laying around on the ground belong to yours truly. If you are a skinner, this place is a paradise for you with lots and lots of hides to be skinned, that is for sure. I can honestly say not one single quest, nor one single area really made me drop my jaw in awe.I have been looking forward to this area ever since a previous visit a few weeks back. I won't be returning to this place on my next vacation! The fishing is progressing; I had not expected it to take so long to cap out the skill, but I am still sitting at modest 325.Open spaces are a hunter's dream. I stumbled upon a quest that earned me a shiny new Fishing pole that apparently belongs to Seth.No trees to back into or cliffs to back off of or any environmental issues to mess with your line of sight. The flight path in Nagrand for the Alliance is located in the southern part of the zone in the town of Telaar. The quest itself is available from a young boy named Seth in Shattarath City. You will find the Flight master up a ramp above the inn. Seth can be found hanging out with his blind mother and a physician named Mildred Fletcher, who doubles as a first aid trainer in her spare time. While you are up there, be sure to take a look around, as the view is well worth a few minutes of your time. When you first skim through the quest, you think you are going to go fish up the eels but no actually fishing is involved, which is good because you should be questing! For this quest, you must kill the fish and loot them.If you look off in the distance, you can often see level 70 guards hovering midair protecting the city. I was unable to find any berries or fruit for my warp stalker, but with fishing available just outside the northeastern corner of town, food for my pet was not be a problem. The quest was easy enough taking a total of 20 minutes, which included finding the lake, killing the fish and returning back to Seth. The town is a host to a plethora of NPCs. I did get a few chances to fish both during the daytime and nighttime. The trade goods vendor, poison supplier, and general goods dealer as well as reagent, cooking, armorsmith and blacksmith suppliers all reside in Telaar. I did not notice any unique catches due to the time of day.I later discovered that you could buy berries in the PvP contested town of Halaa provided of course your faction currently holds the town. For those of you who did the Stranglethorn Vale quests, you will meet up with an old friend here, Hemet Nesingwary! Yep you heard me correctly, only this time you get to go on a Safari. A little tip about running the southern roads in this zone that you may find helpful: When you are heading back to Allerian Stronghold, the Alliance town in this zone, make sure you are on the right road once you head south from the mob infested town of Tuurem. The experience points rack up quite nicely despite going back to a kill 20 of this and 30 of that type quests. Take the east fork off the road or you will end up in the Horde town of Stonebreaker Camp. The enemies are close to town and drop quite easily for me at level 64. I did this several times.Do not be alarmed, Nesingwary has informed me that his son Junior is now taking care of things back in Stranglethorn Vale. By now I am sure that you are realize I am an adventuresome type and often don’t think before rushing into things. You crisscross back and forth so much in that area that it is easy to get on the wrong road, as they run parallel to each other. My reasoning for this, ""Nothing ventured nothing gained"", or as my old friend Urto used to say, ""If you ain't dying you ain't trying!"" Ok, where was I. cheap wow gold I have decided that I hate Warp Stalkers, not as pets, but as foes. Oh yeah, exploring Nagrand. They are easily the most annoying enemy in the zone.So I am out running around dodging beasts that look like they might eat me for lunch when I see on my mini map crop circle. mp3 players One minute you are happily beating down a Timber Worg to collect his pelt, the next you are being attacked from behind by a Warp Stalker.Oooh, this must be investigated! I was so intent on making my way over to get a better look that I did not notice a huge giant by the name of Durn the Hungerer stomping his way across the countryside. Even with Track Beasts up, they are able to sneak up on you with their 'warp' ability. All of the sudden… blamo! I am at the graveyard. world of warcraft gold I thought I could seek solace in the Bone Wastes, but I was wrong. You just have to love those one hit deaths. The Bone Wastes is the most hated area in this zone to me.Even the game was against me on that particular day. wow gold You end up making a lot of trips back and forth in this area.I was flying back to the city of Shattrath when the server crashed. The ruins are densely compacted with mobs of undead, lost souls buzzards and along the outside edges wicked spiders, which makes it hard to traverse this area.I logged back into the game to see myself falling through the air to my death. wow gold I don't know if it was just because I was playing when there were not a lot of other players online, but not counting Shattarath city, this was the least crowded area I have been in yet.It seems the bird I was on forgot to log back in. Maybe it was because, like me, they just wanted to get their quests done and move on.I am pretty sure that was the same day I fell off the bridge that crosses into the town of Telaar. wow gold kaufen I did not see hunters with any unique pets tamed. They really should put guardrails on those things! I had a lot of fun in this zone and can see myself spending a lot of time here when the game goes retail. I did however run into a new tameable color of a wolf.Between being launched through the air on Wazat’s Jump-a-tron to aerial PvP bombing missions, this zone has a little bit of everything. " . A level 64 ""named"" beast, Ironjaw, can be found wandering around the northwestern portions of Firewing hold between the town, road and river.

One of the very first quests I was assigned here was to kill an elite mob just south of Cenarion Refuge named Boglash. There are so many new things to do in Blizzard''s new expansion and with so little real life time, I feel well behind my fellow beta testers. At 62, I figured this was going to be a rough fight. As most Paladins have already read by now, there have been many changes to the talent trees, a few new spells added to out repertoire, all of which are things to be very excited about. One of the nicest things about the new talent trees is that all three trees seem to be viable now. Almost immediately I tracked down Boglash.Blizzard has been working hard to make the Paladin more than just a combat medic. I sent in my Felguard and let him have at for a few moments to get some good aggro. However as any instance raider can tell you, Paladins who are true to their class know healing is our strong suit. I then laid down my traditional DoT (damage over time) attacks, and proceeded to turn on my health funnel to make sure the big guy survives. For good or for bad, nothing has changed in the Burning Crusade. Once I went through the routine, I check-in with progress of the fight to see how it is progressing. We still make powerful combat healers, especially with our cleansing abilities, we will still find us pigeon holed for this role, especially in 25-man raids. Much to my surprise this level 64 ""elite"" dropped like a bad habit and the Cenarion Refuge was safe for another day! Back to the Refuge now to see what other trouble. However for small instances, a Paladin tank is a strong possibility, although things do seem to go a little slower then if a warrior were tanking. The Retribution tree, which a good number of Paladins have worked with, has a much improved bottom end with the return of an instant strike damage spell. This new spell seems to be the most looked forward to change in the tree. Retribution may have the new instant strike but the tree that has seen the most change, which in this author''s opinion is the most interesting tree, is the Protection tree. err I mean. While a more in-depth look at the Protection tree will be done in a later article while I get more acquainted with it. It needs to be said that many are still very curious to see how viable a tank a Paladin can be with the addition of some those new spells and talents. With the number of new 5-man instances being added, having a Paladin able to switch in for the ever so important ""warrior tank position"" can make group-making a lot easier. what I can do to help the good people of the Cenarion Expedition.I got a chance to tank the Blood Furnace for a partial run the other night and felt pretty confident in the role of tank (if only that pesky Rogue Sprawl would stop stealing aggro) . Like their brethren, the Cenarion Circle, the Expedition has its own faction bar.I still wasn''t able to hold aggro as well as a top tiered warrior like Buster, but I was definitely an acceptable stand-in while he is away from the keyboard. Before we get too much into any particular specs or new spells, it''s probably a good idea to start like your average Burning Crusade blog and mention my initial experiences through the Dark Portal. There is a vendor with two pages of rewards including new arrows. After that seemingly long ride from Nethergarde Keep, full of anticipation and curiosity to the Dark Portal, behold, a Paladin''s delight, Demons! Ok, so a Pit Lord is a little much for me, but the point remains the same. Every quest assigned out of this town earns you a pretty sizeable reputation gain.Much to the enjoyment of many Paladins, Hellfire Peninsula, the starting zone in the Outland, continues where the Eastern and Western Plaguelands left off. By the time I finish with this area, I find myself almost to Revered, but I''m jumping ahead of myself. There is a heavy demon and undead contingent to face in the early parts of the zone, which gives Paladins a large array of ""toys"" to play with right off the bat. With each enemy giving around 500 - 600 experience points per kill, excluding the rested bonus, leveling won''t be all that unbearable. The good folks back in town ask me to check out a disturbance at nearby Umbrafen Lake, just off to the southwest. It is pretty crazy to see 1000+ experience per kill with a rested bonus. There are so many new things that I''m dying to get into but I keep having to stop to take care of things, like spending my talent points. mp3 players Naturally I agree, and off I go into to ride through the marsh again. The very first thing many Paladins will do, counting this Paladin, is spec heavy into the Retribution tree. While there are lakes and smaller watering holes in this area, most of the water is very shallow making it very easy to navigate while on a mount.Dropping 41 points into the Retribution tree allowed me to get the much looked forward to Crusader Strike! Back in the first beta for the original game, Paladins used to have an instant strike. world of warcraft gold To my surprise Umbrafen Lake was infested with Naga.Coupled with the Paladin''s infamous abilities to stay alive, it was deemed too powerful for Paladins to have any semblance of ""dps"". I discovered a giant pumping station that seems to be causing the problems in the area.It took two years of ""begging"" but we finally got it back, in limited form. wow As instructed by my quest, I report this back to this Ysiel Windsinger who asks that I take a little trip around the zone in flight-form to check out the other four lakes in the area and to further analyze the problems involving pumping stations erected at each. The Crusader strike is an instant cast spell that will cause weapon damage plus an addition 40% holy damage, a nice little burst of holy-typed damage. This quest transforms you into a Stormcrow, which is the Druid fight-form; however you do not get the luxury of controlling the flight pattern. As mentioned earlier, going into an almost full Retribution and getting such talents as Seal of Command, the burst damage for the Paladin is at an all time high. wow gold The quest guides you on a trip to each of the four lakes, then back to town. With the combination of Crusader Strike, Judging Command and Exorcism on those pesky undead and demon targets, it is not too uncommon to knock down targets immediately to half health in a matter of 5 seconds. When I report back to her, I''m sent out on foot to take care of the problem. This is a very welcomed change from the ungodly long fights most Paladins are used to by now. wow gold Being the problem solver that I am, off I go to wreak some havoc. All we need now is stealth and we can just do away with the Rogue class all together! This leads the Paladin to another interesting point. At this point in my morning, I find that Sprawl is also in the midst of causing the same trouble so we team up to do double the damage! Just say I''ll be surprised if the Naga get those water pumps up and running anytime soon. While Strength and Agility are always important to any melee class, the Paladin has the unique problem of trying to focus every single major stat. wow gold kaufen Soon after this I find my way to the northeast of the zone to a not so healthy looking area called the Dead Mire, and it appears that the afore mentioned pumping station has already done it dirty work here and drained the entire lake! I set to my tasks to doing what I can to help what''s left of the area and to make a few things right.Strength and agility are important for the extra attack power and critical strike chance, especially to help with the burst damage while leveling or PvPing.

Summer is always here and for many British of the older generation, this season is akin to preserving the fresh fruits of the season. I love coffee, I am not denying that, but there are times when I simply need tea as my drink for the day.Though making homemade preserves may not be necessary today – thanks to modern processing plans – it would still be a good activity to engage in this summer. One of my favorites is the English Breakfast Tea, which I can drink at any time of the day.Have you ever made preserves or jam in your own kitchen. What is this tea anyway. Maybe you should try out this age old tradition that our elders engaged in. The English Breakfast Tea is usually a blend of different black teas. Not only will you have homemade jams and jellies to consume throughout the winter months, but you’ll also have memories to last for the rest of your life. So how do you go about making jam. The blend may consist of teas coming from areas such as India, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Malawi and China. Helen Gaffney of The Great British Kitchen provides tips that have been tried and tested by time. The fact is that the English Breakfast Tea was first invented in Edinburgh, Scotland by a man named Drysdale, a well known tea master. Here they are for your reading (and jam-making) pleasure. 1. His idea was to market the blend under the label Breakfast. It is most important to have jars, saucepan or preserving pan and spoons ready and scrupulously clean before you start, so that you prevent any micro-organisms from getting into the jam. 2. The rest is history.Choose sound firm fruit. This kind of tea is a perfect accompaniment to the traditional English breakfast and goes well with milk and sugar.A mixture of ripe and rather less ripe fruits is best, unripe fruits contain more pectin and fruit acid (both needed to obtain a good set) than ripe fruit. 3. If you want a more technical description of this tea, here is Mr.Use fruit as soon as possible after picking. Breakfast’s take: It is a robust, full-bodied beverage with light floral undertones (sometimes referred to as “coppery”).Wash only if necessary. 4. When blended with milk, it produces a comforting aroma eerily similar to warm toast and honey.Cook the fruit with or without water for 20-30 minutes prior to adding the sugar. And as we know, the olfactory receptors in our noses are responsible for 80% of what we perceive as flavor.Simmer it gently to draw out the pectin. 5. Indeed, English breakfast tea can give you a warm fuzzy feeling just as you brush away the cobwebs of sleep in the early morning.Warm the sugar before adding it to the fruit to help it dissolve quickly. 6. Why not have a cup today. When you have added the sugar to the hot, softened fruit, stir it over a gentle heat until it has completely dissolved before returning the jam to the boil. 7. ".Boil rapidly until set, stirring from time to time to prevent sticking at the bottom. mp3 players Test frequently to avoid over-cooking. There’s more from where this came from. world of warcraft gold is all the class synergies.I suggest that you visit Helen’s article and read for yourself! " . Yep you heard it here, the class synergies are a problem with BC raiding. wow Why is this. You might ask, well it''s not overly obvious at first. wow gold On first glance it looks great, all these classes capable of buffing other members of the raid and all these synergies available through talent specs and whatnot. You have shadow priests benefiting all the casters with misery, the warlocks with shadow weaving, warlocks benefiting casters with curse of elements/shadows, curse of recklessness for the physical DPS classes. wow gold kaufen You have mages applying scorch debuffs to help out other fire mages or fire throwing warlocks, or frost mages helping out other frost mages. Feral druids'' Leader of the pack benefiting their group, hunters'' ferocious inspiration benefiting either melee or caster dps and being dependent on crit, so the druid LOTP buff helps them out, survival hunters helping out the entire raid''s phsyical dps classes and even the marksman hunter provides a fair to middlin buff to physical dps classes with their trueshot aura. wow power leveling You have DPS warriors being able to be debuff specialists with thunderclap, demo shout, and buffing their group with battle shout as well as helping out the other physical DPS classes with deep arms tree talents. You have the age-old sunders from the tank helping out physical DPS classes, warlocks'' imps helping out the tanks, shadow priests mana regen helping out mana dependent DPS classes as well as healers, you have shaman totems on both sides now, ret paladin debuffs, you have hemo rogues doing a similar debuff to arms warriors, the list goes on and on and on.

Don’t be embarrassed if you do not know the answer."For those of you who grew up in the country, you would probably love to relive that experience. Reading that question, you probably heard some bells ringing in the background. For those who are purebred city people, then you might want to have a taste of what growing up in the country is like. That is but understandable as Henry Moore is arguably the most celebrated sculptor in the United Kingdom. That is, being surrounded by animals and fields, being out in the open air. If you like animals and you want to experience something like a county fair, then I suggest that you head on over to the Rare and Traditional Breeds Show at Singleton, Chichester, West Sussex. Born in 30 July 1898 in Castleford, Yorkshire, Henry Moore is perhaps best known all over the world for his sculptures which were larger than life. What should you expect. Many of these monumental sculptures have been purchased – and subsequently displayed – by private institutions. About Britain announces the event: Our biggest show of the year! Over 500 cattle, sheep, pigs, goats and poultry of numerous rare breeds will be taking part in the show, the largest in south east England. The reclining form is considered to be Henry Moore’s signature form.Bring the family to see orange bristled Tamworth pigs; the Pygmy goats, not much more than one foot high; Gloucester Old Spot pigs with their dramatic black blotches, Longhorn cattle with majestic curly horns and Southdown Sheep with their teddy bear faces and dumpling shape and many many more. Wikipedia elaborates: Moore’s exploration of this form, under the influence of the Toltec-Mayan figure he had seen at the Louvre, was to lead him to increasing abstraction as he turned his thoughts towards experimentation with the elements of design.Other attractions include country craft and trade stands with farm and animal themes and the Museum’s own team of working Shire horses. The exact venue of the show is the Weald and Downland Open Air Museum, which is worthy enough of a visit on its own. Moore’s earlier reclining figures deal principally with mass, while his later ones contrast the solid elements of the sculpture with the space, not only round them but generally through them as he pierced the forms with openings. The highlights of the Museum include historic homes, farms, and workplaces. Though Moore died in 1986, his legacy continues with the Henry Moore Foundation, of which his daughter Mary Moore remains a part. These have been restored and all efforts have been made to keep them as close to the original as possible."Long rambling walks in the countryside, the unmistakable scent of fresh air, the peacefulness that one finds only outside of the city – these things and more are what you can expect from a visit to Cumbria. In fact, The Guardian recently published an interview with her – a very rare occurrence.Cumbria is a shire county in Northwest England and is predominantly rural. Those who are interested in the work of Henry Moore will soon be treated to an exhibition at the Hauser & Wirth gallery in Central London. It is actually considered to be one of the most beautiful places in the whole country. Being predominantly rural, the Cumbria area is one of the best places – if not the best – to go walking in England. mp3 player The Guardian narrates: The show will span six decades and incorporate 70 works from the private family collection that have never before been shown publicly. If going on leisurely walks is your idea of relaxation, then Cumbria should definitely be on your list of places to visit. The two main footpaths in this area are the Cumbrian Way and the Dales Way. Several items - such as the concrete bird table he made in 1942 that was used by the family for several years - carry a deep personal resonance. If you take the former route, you will start by the sea side and head on northward to experience some of the most spectacular sceneries. world of warcraft gold There is a hope that the exhibition will lead to a reassessment of Moore’s work because, as Mary puts it, the ‘acclaim and affection’ in which he is held often obscures the ‘radical’ nature of his art.The latter route will take you west into Yorkshire. Either way, you will have a one of a kind walking experience. Of course, there are other options for those who are not “heavy duty walkers.” There are countless other footpaths wherein you can take more leisurely and shorter walks. wow Cumbria Calling lists down some of them: • Buttermere - a two hour walk takes you all the way round this lovely lake • Derwent Water Ferry - take the Derwent ferry from Keswick to Hawes End. Walk to Lodore Falls and take the ferry back to Keswick • Stiffer than a stroll, but possible without being a mountaineer is to climb Skiddaw from Keswick. • Ullswater ferry and walk. wow gold Take ferry from Glenridding pier to Howtown. It is then a three hour walk back along the lake shore to Howtown • Take the ferry from Bowness to Sawrey, walk along the lake shore to Bass Rock, return through the National Trust woods • Grizedale forest. wow gold There are a number of waymarked walks. Details from Forestry Commission • Round Grasmere. wow gold A pleasant walk all the way round the lake at Grasmere will take about two hours So put on your walking shoes and head on over to Cumbria!

Every country enters the Olympic Games with hopes of gold."Every nation in this world would certainly want something to be called their core culture. Although there are certain countries who are particularly strong candidates for gold in many events, the hopes of coming home with one is always found within an Olympic athlete. Some countries (especially in Asia) label their cultures as hospitable and welcoming. The whole country remains expectant and rejoices with each win.Others label their cultures as hard working. That is why it does not come as a surprise that British press was quite “giddy” over the successes that British athletes met on Wednesday.Still others prefer the label easy going and fun loving. AFP reports: Chris Hoy and Victoria Pendleton continued Britain’s domination of events at the Laoshan Velodrome, winning the men’s and women’s sprints respectively, with Hoy leading Jason Kenny in a British one-two, while Christine Ohuruogu capped the golden day with victory in the final of the women’s 400 metres. What is the core culture of the Britain of today. “The performance of ‘Team GB’ in the Olympics is moving beyond the sublime and towards the ridiculous,” the Daily Telegraph gushed in its editorial. If someone were to ask you this question, what would you answer off the top of your head. “We are British, for heaven’s sake — how are we supposed to cope with such a relentless diet of good news, such an unprecedented glut of world-beating performances. I was quite saddened when I read something about this over at Time.com. “The only difficulty, as the Games bring yet more medal chances, will be in squeezing so many names into the next (edition of the Queen’s) Honours List. Here are some excerpts from the feature article: What are the key components of Britishness. ” The Independent, meanwhile, admitted that it had not expected anything like the numbers of medals won by British athletes, writing in its editorial: “On Monday, we proclaimed that it couldn’t get any better for Britain. The bulldog spirit. But it did. A stiff upper lip. ” “These Olympics have offered more than mere diversion from a dismal summer of grey skies and economic gloom. Or a penchant for Sex on the Beach. It is always a pleasure to read and write about news like this one. With Britain locked in an identity crisis (the English feel English, the Welsh, Welsh and some Scots are so eager to assert their Scottishness that they want to disunite the United Kingdom), these questions are troubling Prime Minister Gordon Brown. Indeed, despite the controversies that have been marring the Beijing Olympics, the spirit of the games still exist and great athletes can still inspire their countrymen. Oddly, Brown overlooked another fundament of Britishness: alcohol-fueled misbehavior. cheap wow gold Keep going Team GB! "The 2008 Beijing Olympics is well underway and many a hope for gold has been dashed.Booze culture unites Britons from Land’s End in southwestern England to John O’Groats at the northeastern tip of Scotland, and it’s also one of the U.K.’s best-known exports. Yet things are looking rosy for Britain as Rebecca Adlington has fulfilled a nation’s dream for gold.In sun spots such as Ibiza, Mallorca, the Canary Islands, Spain and Greece, English, Welsh and Scottish holidaymakers raucously intermingle, indistinguishable from each other in their bright leisure wear and brighter sunburns, downing alcoholic concoctions such as Sex on the Beach, sometimes as a prelude to the act itself. mp3 Adlington is a swimmer who competed in the 400 meter freestyle race. The feature is longer than these two paragraphs and I felt disturbed after I read it. To add icing to the cake, Joanne Jackson got the bronze medal. Is this how people of other nations perceive the British people. wow gold Reuters reports: Adlington conducted what Adrian Moorhouse, who won Britain’s last Olympic swimming title in 1988, called a “smash-and-grab” to snatch the 400 meters freestyle gold which had looked destined for American Katie Hoff. Do they really think that the British is a nation of boozers. Adlington’s boldness under pressure on the big occasion made her the first British Olympic swimming champion in 20 years and first women’s gold medalist in nearly half a century when Anita Lonsbrough won the 200 breaststroke at the Rome Games in 1988. " . wow gold Moorhouse, now working as a television commentator, said: “I’m really proud of her (Adlington). I’m proud of both of them, to be able to watch an Olympic gold medal for Great Britain. wow gold ” This is definitely something that every Briton has been looking forward to since the last Olympics. Even those who are not very much into sports are at least following what is going on in Beijing during these several days. buy wow gold I would even dare say that people who may not be normally patriotic or nationalistic are feeling quite proud of their fellow Britons right now. After all, a trip to the Olympics as an athlete is something to proud of already – more so when you get a gold!
