RUMOR: News On Who Is Running TNA Operations At The Moment

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that John Gaburick is the primary person running day to day operations behind the scenes in TNA right now. The report goes on to state that there is also a “triangle” that TNA officials have to answer to; Panda Energy, Dixie Carter and Spike TV.

Rumble Plans for Reigns, Why WWE Booked Punk to Win

 - Regarding how WWE booked CM Punk to win over The Shield at TLC, it's said he had to win with both John Cena and Daniel Bryan already booked to lose. Plus, it created more drama for the eventual breakup of The Shield. At RAW, they had Roman Reigns get the win over Punk with the idea Reigns is eventually going to be the "real golden boy" since he has the look and sports background WWE officials like, as opposed to Punk and Bryan who will never 100% get past the size and look issues. They also felt Punk was protected from the loss by having the segment with Shawn Michaels, which people would remember more than the fact he was pinned.

News on Hogan, Batista & RVD Returning for Mania'

 Regarding WrestleMania XXX, Hulk Hogan is not signed as of today but people are talking confidently about the idea he would be with the company and involved with the biggest pay-per-view of the year in some form. However, it is openly believed and talked about internally that Hogan is not expected to wrestle.

There's a feeling that even if officials wanted him to wrestle, he could not pass medical tests. Hogan most likely will not be teaming with John Cena and will likely do something like an appearance, a quick knock down to a heel and a promo.

Batista is also being talked about coming back internally.

At this point, Rob Van Dam is not in the WrestleMania plans but that could change.

News on WWE Using Both Titles

- It was reported over the weekend that the winner of Randy Orton vs. John Cena at TLC would be using only the WWE Title belt. As seen on RAW, new champion Orton came out with both belts. Word coming out of RAW is that eventually the champion will hold just the WWE Title belt. Orton coming out with the World Heavyweight Title belt on RAW was a last minute decision.

- It was mentioned by the announcers on last night's RAW after Dolph Ziggler defeated Fandango that this may be a turning point for Ziggler. Ziggler spoke to Renee Young on the WWE App and WWE.com after the win and acknowledged his recent losses but said things had to change at some point and RAW may have been it.

RUMOR: WWE Begins Negotiating New TV Deals With Networks. TNA At Risk?

Variety has an article revealing that WWE's current television licensing deals are set to expire some time early next year. Variety states that the broadcast rights for RAW, SmackDown, Main Event, Saturday Morning Slam and Total Divas will all expire simultaneously and that the WWE is attempting to secure higher broadcast fees the $139.5 million they are currently receiving.

NBC Universal which airs a big portion of WWE broadcasts has until February 15, 2014 to make a decision and issue a bid. WWE plans to select their media partners by March 2014.

The Variety article also states that the WWE has held meetings or reached out to Viacom. Viacom owns Spike TV, which airs Impact Wrestling. Numerous sources are now jumping the gun stating that If WWE were to sign a deal with Viacom, it could leave TNA off of SpikeTV.

TNA and SpikeTV announced a two year extension of broadcast rights in late 2012. Additionally, TNA Star Eric Young recently stated that TNA and Spike quietly agreed to a cumulative 5 year extension of broadcast rights.

RUMOR: AJ Re-Signs With TNA? All One Big Work?

Nick Paglino of Wrestlezone.com is reporting that amid all of the press regarding the departure of AJ Styles is indeed a work. Their source was quoted as saying

"The statement Styles issued yesterday was a work, and a blasphemous one at that,"

As we also exclusively reported, one source within TNA alluded to us that the entire situation was indeed a work. With that being said, please take rumors of all forms with a serious grain of salt.

Kurt Angle scouting talent in india for TNA

TNA Star Kurt Angle spoke to India's Business Standard regarding his stop in India to promote TNA and Impact Wrestling in the country. Angle confirms that TNA is looking for talent in India. Angle Said:

"TNA is looking for a wrestler here from India. We are going to obviously have a competition and we will see whom we can get from here. The best thing to do for the country is to recruit from the country. Our first step is to see whom we can get, what wrestler we can get from India to be part of our roster."

RUMOR: Update On Sting's Status With TNA

The Wrestling Observer is reporting that as far as Sting's TNA future is concerned, he is advertised to face Ethan Carter III at the TNA live event in Huntsville, Alabama on January 16th, which would be after his current TNA contract expires.

It's being said that Sting may simply be working a few additional dates with the company to allow them time to properly write him out of the storylines. At the same time, there is a decent possibility that he will sign on for another year with the company under a special agreement that has him working a limited schedule again.
The impression within TNA is that Sting will remain in the company due to the fact that they are booking their future with him in the mix.

RUMOR: More On AJ Styles, Talent Contracts

Regarding AJ Styles leaving TNA, it is not part of the storyline that they began a few months ago. Things could change between now and December 16th but Styles is indeed leaving TNA if they don't.

Styles is currently taking independent bookings and word is that he's asking between $3,000 and $4,000 per appearance. It was noted that Styles' scheduled Q&A tour of the UK was pushed back due to a Diamond Dallas Page tour taking place around the same time but another reason for the delay is that TNA's lawyers sent legal letters to the promoters to make sure they weren't infringing on anything TNA owns rights to.

The main problem between TNA and AJ is money. TNA simply would not give him what he wanted. Now there's a feeling within TNA, with so many contracts coming up in the next year, that a lot of guys are going to end up singing deals for less than they were previously making just to keep their jobs. The feeling is if TNA wouldn't give AJ Styles more money, then they probably won't be giving any one else more money.

Big E Comments on Best Advice

 - Big E Langston was asked about the best advice he has received during an interview with Sports Illustrated's Extra Mustard.

"From John Cena, I learned about the importance of timing and the moment," Big E said. "There are things you can let get away from you, and things might happen out of nowhere, but it's all about owning the moment. Chris Hero Talks The Possibility Of Joining TNA

Former ROH and NXT star, Chris Hero was recently interviewed by Busted Open Radio about his future plans in the world of pro wrestling. He also spoke about the possibility of coming to TNA. He said

"At this point, I am looking at all my options. I would never say no to something based on reputation. I am booked up for the rest of the year pretty much and I am keeping next year open as far as international dates and I want to maximize my opportunities and be able to hit up Europe for a couple weeks and I definitely want to go back to Japan. I’m trying to get that figured out.

If there was an interest with TNA, it is an offer that I would definitely entertain but I just want to strike while the iron is hot and set the best landscape for my career and where I go because I know everyone is happy to see me and its cool: 'Hey, Chris Hero is back' but I do realize that it’s not going to last forever so I am going to have to continue to evolve and bring something different to the table. It will be interesting to see on how this plays out with all of the different companies that I am working for in the next couple months."
