One way to start as a Witch This is just One way to be a Witch, but there are as many ways as there are witches.

The Law Of Three
Nu is uw blog bijna aangemaakt.
Aren't we all seekers? Ever since we started crawling, we discover the world and with every step we take we learn, but every step also takes us further on the path of the unknown. Thus we seek our way and therefore we are all seekers.
No one can put things on our way for which we aren't ready yet.And once we are ready we seek knowledge and go on our way to discover what more the unknown can tell us.Making it so, that the unknown soon becomes the familiar.
We can use a little help along the way, just because it takes less time. For you can find everything on your own - that's for sure - but it will take a little longer.
Therefore I am happy to put some bits of information on your path.
It is your path, isn't it? Yes, because you came to visit this log, this means you were already on your way to discover this magic world.
Welcome on the path, walk along dear fellow seeker and find the way that suits you best.
Becoming a Witch means first and foremost to reunite with the surrounding nature.
This means we have to develop a (new or renewed) feeling for nature and we can only do that when we surround ourselves with natural materials.
Ware wool or cotton, not polyester or nylon.
Use a wooden comb and brush, to brush your hair, to avoid electric sparkles.
Electricity is one of the most powerful energies in nature, but also the most difficult to control. It often moves in erratic ways and seems to have a mind of its own.
Electricity has both good and bad qualities, but as a starting Witch you better
avoid working in an environment where a lot of electricity is in the air.
(Even more experienced Witches can still have serious problems due to
unexpected electrical whims.)
Try to sit or stand on natural materials when performing Witchcraft so as not to perturb the sanctified air. Of course it is best to stand (barefooted) on solid ground such as the soil of a garden or park, but as many people live in towns, tucked away in small apartments that don't even have a balcony, an alternative must be kept in mind.
So, if you perform in your house try to sit on wooden floorboards, stone tiled floors or if need be on a woollen carpet on a concrete floor. Al these are better than to sit on polyester floor coverings or plastic sheets, which again can cause static electricity.
We live in a world full of vibes. Good vibes and bad vibes, pure vibes and "polluted" or perturbed vibes. Everything radiates its own vibes, from stones and animals over human beings and all sorts of objects in between.
So, no, don't be so naïve to think that only Mobile Phones or Microwave ovens radiate vibes. Everything does.
What Witches try to do is harmonize these vibes.Make everything in the world back in balance.
All the more reason not to let things perturbed by static electricity. If you have ever seen the striking of a lighting you know that it moves in very erratic directions. That is not exactly harmonised or harmonising. J
In order to make changes we must first be aware of the state of being of people, animals, objects, stones, plants and what more inhabits this planet.
Therefore we need to be attentive.
It used to be a rage in the sixties to talk about "Awareness", but being aware of things is not enough.
We have now come to the next step of "Mindfulness".To make it simple to understand I can say;
We may be aware of the cat in the room, but if we do not "mind" the cat, we might trip over it.
Knowing that the cat is there is one thing, but minding that she is there, means we have to really pay attention to her.
Now we must try to be aware and mindful about everything that surrounds us.If you do, you might find yourself less prone to trip over things or bump in to things. That's a good beginning.
For you it is so... What ever you heard about witches: it is not true.
What ever you heard about witches: it is true.
Is this a joke?
No, but as every witch is free to make her own religion as she goes (along the path)
there are no certainties in being a Witch.
What is good for you is not necessarily good for the next person. (And vice versa)
There is but ONE RULE that all witches obey and it says it all in just eight words:
"As you harm none, do as ye will"
Particularly the first part of this rule is important; the rest will follow all by itself.
Just as our mothers used to tell us:
"Never do to others, what you wouldn't like to be done to you"
it says it all.
Some witches simply believe in Magic.
Some witches believe in the Powers of the Universe and the Forces of nature. (like me)
Some witches believe in Gods and Goddesses.
Some witches believe in Spirits (of wood, stone, air, fire and so on)
Some witches believe in not much at all and use bits and pieces from everywhere
to add to "their" religion and call themselves the Chaos witches.
Some witches are only concerned about nature and use wisdom from different sections of witchcraft and call themselves eclectic witches.
Some witches call themselves Pagan
Some witches call themselves Wiccan or Wicca or Wicca-followers
Some witches call themselves White witches and
Some witches call themselves Gothic Witches
A lot of witches call themselves believers of the "Old Religion"
Some witches are Witch in the deepest or their heart and soul.
Some witches are purely witch on the outside
and off comes the magic when they undress to go to bed.
There are Witches that gather in groups called "Covens" and
there are Witches that feel fine on their own and they call themselves Solitary witches (like me)
I can go on for a while and add to the list just about all sorts of witches, but believe me
the only truth is the one in your heart.
If you believe something to be true, than for you that is so.
If you experience that something feels good, than for you that is so.
No matter if a hundred other people claim it not to be so, FOR YOU IT SO.
Everyone has a right to believe, or not believe as they wish.
You make and create your own world around you as you see fit.
You are the centre of your own world, so do your best to make it a wonderful world.
Let no one tell you what to do, not even me.
(Those are not my own words, though I have written them in my heart ever since I read them. They are the words of the great Lord Gautama Shakyamuni, the Buddha, and they are so right!)
People get their wisdom from books. It starts at school when you learn to read and it goes on like that for the rest of your life. You learn from books, from what other people found worth entrusting to the paper.
Paper is a tame mutt, paper is very willingly, it lets everyone write on its back.
Any fool can write a book.Even the oldest books are not worth more that the recent pocket dictionaries. You don't know the people who wrote them, nor under what circumstances, nor where they got their wisdom.
So again; do not let anyone tell you what to do, or what to believe.
Find the truth for yourself and test and try every bit of knowledge that you gather.
It is pretty much like picking mushrooms, for there are poisoned ones and there are healing ones and there are those who are simply "yummy".
It goes just like that with books. There are beeswax books, there are downright dangerous books, there are good books and very good books and there are those who are simply fun to read.
Don't fill you pretty little head with just anything.
After having tested and tried every bit of information, accept it only if it feels right to you.
When in doubt > turnabout.
Same goes about what people may tell you to do or to believe. It is not because you enter a group of people that those people can tell you what to do.If it does not feel right, don't do it!If you do not like their attitude; leave!
If you do not like to read this blog; close the little red cross atop at the right hand side and all is over.
Saying "no" is easy.Saying "yes" should come from the heart.
Now off you go and make sure you pick some good mushrooms now!
NO.You do not NEED anything at all, because being a Witch is not about tools and looks, it is about what's in your mind and how you work with it.Most things can be done perfectly well with an ordinary forefinger.
Now of course, some things are easier to do with tools. Therefore I give you a shortlist of things, most witches have at home.
Athame(knife with wooden handle)
Boline(knife with white handle)
Broom(Always wood, never plastic!)
Cauldron(small and fitted with three legs)
Chalice(Silver, wood, glass or any other natural material)
Pentacle(Tablet in wood, clay, stone or any other natural material, with a
five point star in a circle, on it.)
Sword(Not too long, so as to keep it manageable)
Cone Shaped Hat(works as an antenna or a funnel to receive craft (power) )
Wand(Short wooden staff with magical symbols)
Staff(Long wooden staff to walk with)
Rope
(Three sorts:
1- a thin one to wear around your waste when performing magic
2- a much thicker and longer one to shape the circle with
3- thin ones (you can cut the length as is desired) for plaiting to make talismans, witch ladders and small objects that can serve as an amulet
Candles, candleholders, incense, water, biscuits
A Cloth or cushion to sit on, etc...
Now remember:
None of these tools are essential.
The only purpose they serve is to keep your mind focused on what you are doing. It is a tangible reminder of the act.It helps you concentrate on what you had in mind.
If you lift a sword or a wand, than this theatrical act reminds you that you have the intention to do something "out of the ordinary". And second; it lengthens the reach of your hands and arms, therefore your act becomes far-reaching. All of this only states "In Mano" what your mental intention is.
Now if any of these tools make you uncomfortable >> don't use them!
If you do not like to handle knives or swords, simply don't use them!
No one should force you to do anything against your will, not even making you taste a new softdrink. If you don't like certain things, walk away from them.
A person who forces another person, is always wrong no matter how little a thing it is about.
When you start performing rituals, you can just as well draw circles with your finger as with the Sword. You can drink from a cupped hand just as well as from a Chalice. You can strew salt, sand or pebbles in stead of laying down a cord. You can simply raise your arms instead of a knife or a sword. The only thing that won't be easy is to cut herbs with your finger. J
But as you can see, tool are convenient but not necessary.
Don't let the former lesson about the "Law of Three" scare you away.
(but if it does, of course you should feel free to go)
Now that we know that
- we mustn't harm another
- we should be in touch with nature and
- we should do good, only if we feel there is a need to
we can start thinking of how we can do good.
Remember everything in this world has its own vibration,
it starts on the smallest level with the movement of molecules
and goes on to larger entities moving energy through different shaped channels.
It is easy to see that something that lives, has energy.
But what is the definition of LIFE ?
Ever thought about that?
Well, LIFE = movement =
Everything that reacts on light => i.e. plants turning towards the sun
or the reaction of fish diving deeper upon seeing a big shadow
or
things that react on sound => birds flying away upon hearing a loud bang
or
things that react on touch => i.e. certain plants, curl up or retract and
an animal - when touched - may pull away in its sleep, (remember humans are also animals)
or some things that react on vibrations => i.e. animals running, crawling or slithering away when an earthquake announces itself
The only thing we believe to be lifeless are stones and rocks.
Well I am sorry, but even they contain a form of life and have a sort of movement.
Simply think of piëzo electric crystals that shrink and expand in an almost eternal similar way.Or when a mineral gets dissolved by water or some other chemical. Then a process of melting, falling apart or making new connections is set in motion.
This is a form of movement, therefore => there is life.
Apart from the movement in molecules, stones and living creatures, there's also the radiation.
Radiation happens in waves.
There are all sorts of waves and we can see some of them, but there is much more that we cannot see.Simply look at the scheme that goes with this article. (click the picture to enlarge it)
Now we have all heard about sound waves that can destroy things. Think about the high pitch voice of an opera singer that can make crystal glassware burst.
Or some supersonic wave that hits a detonator which sets off a torpedo.
Or the Biblical trumpets that made the walls of Jericho come down.
Or an example closer to home:
The microwave!Which can destroy (or fry) food that has been put in there.
Easy a child can do it, but make sure that this same child doesn't try it out on his pet cat or dog!
Now those are the destroyer waves or radiations. But if there's a negative, most likely there will be a positive...And yes of course... you can make popcorn from maize, which - to most people - is but chicken food.So that's an improvement.
There are also machines that produce anti-noise, which diminishes the sound of certain heavy machines, that's also a good way of using waves.
Music also exists out of waves and we all know that some people can be moved to tears by listening to certain music (often classical music), just as there are others sorts of music that can make you go berserk (heavy metal, house) or music that makes you happy and playful. (carnival music)Or music that makes kiddies happy (music box tunes) or that can make you really calm and relaxed (New age music with nature sounds) or music that can help you meditate (oriental strings and bamboo flute)
There have been scientific experiments about music as an aid to make plants grow better.
So it is obvious that waves have a strong influence on people, animals, plants and stones.
There are also waves that can penetrate deep water of even stones and in doing so can change the constructions of the materials by moving the molecules.
Now there is no scientific proof for it yet, but it is said that there are certain people who are capable of doing pretty much the same with their brainwaves or sheer willpower.
Some people in Asia have been seen producing small objects out of the blue. (for instance: Sai Baba) Some Tibetan sages have been able to live on 1 grain of rice for a fortnight and in a book about "The Masters of the Universe" I once read that there are wise men who are capable of picking up a handful of sand and with their mind, they change the molecules of the sand so that it changes into dough or bread.
That reminds me of the story of Jesus and the multiplication of the fishes and the bread in the dessert, and the changing of water into wine on another occasion.
So now you see the importance of you intent. When in Buddhism they say:
"Thoughts are forces", they mean it!En when in English they say: "Careful what you wish for; you might get it!", that's also a very big truth.
Whatever your experience on the path of witchcraft so far, you need to think all these things over before you act.
Magick is not a switch you can turn off and on at your whim.
It is a formidable force that you build up along the way.
When you cast a spell or develop a ritual, you are throwing waves at reality.
If these waves aren't strong enough, they'll fade away before reaching their target.
If you mis-throw them, they'll arrive at the wrong place to cause effects different than expected, and you will not hear about it, for no-one knows where it came from.
If they're too powerful, turbulent or shady the results may be catastrophic.
If they are not thrown in a perseverant and patient enough way they won't influence reality enough. And if there's no reality to send them to, where will they arrive, what effect will they have?
To make Magic work you need five things:
Knowledge,
Conviction,
Passion,
Action and
Reality.
Knowledge
You must know what you are doing and perform it properly. Otherwise nothing will happen, or strange and even awful things might happen to strange people in far away places. Therefore you have to think things through before you act.
Remember: When in doubt >> turnabout.
Conviction
If you don't believe in Magic, nothing will happen. Full stop.
The more you believe in the Magic that you do, the more the Magic will work.
Passion
Magic is like love, if you do not enter it with all your body and mind, it isn't worth bothering about.
Magic is a dormant Dragon.
If your heart isn't in it, Magic isn't going to wake up for you.
When you perform a ritual or cast a spell, make it come from deep down in your belly, make it rage like an angry wave of the ocean and make it surge through your body to come bursting out your mouth, like the flames of a Dragon.
(That does not mean that you have to shout (although that is not forbidden), but you have to give that magic DRIVE.)Give it a WAVE on which it can shoot away in the right direction, to the right place with the right intent. Then Magic will work.
Just whispering as if you are reading things from a book WON'T DO.
Action
If you do not play the lottery, chances are nil that you might win. If you do not play football you will never make a goal.Well if you never try out Magic - in action - nothing will ever happen.Don't be afraid to try a ritual, but be careful of how you do it.
When in doubt, check your facts again (and again if need be), before you perform.
Reality
I mentioned above "If there is no reality to send the Magic Waves to, where will they arrive, what will happen to them?"
This might have made you think; "What does she mean, with "no reality"?"
Well let me explain.
What if
You are convinced that a friend cheats on you with another friend.
You might want to do something about their relationship.
But what if you are wrong?
What if there's no such thing as "a relationship" between the two of them?
Then you direct your Magic at something that does not exist, that has no reality.
What if
If you wake in the middle of the night, thinking there's a burglar in your house and you want to cast a spell at him, but there never was a burglar?!You just dreamt it, or you heard a sound that came from the neighbours.
Then there's no reality to work at.
What if
Some pathological liar has been telling you about his big mansion and lots of land around it and he has complained about a bad crop this year.
Being a little naieve, you might want to help him with his crop, but as he's a liar, there is no such thing as "a big mansion" or "lots of land".So where does your magic go to?
What if
An acquaintance tells you over the phone that she's very ill and she names you a disease. You might again want to do good and help her, so after having hung up the phone you decide to perform a ritual to cure her.But what if she's mistaken and she has a totally different disease? Or what if her doctor is mistaken? They are not infallible you know. What will your magic do to her body then? Better be careful and check things thoroughly again.
Therefore always check your facts before you act upon it.
When you perform a ritual, pay attention to the phases of the moon!
When the Moon is full, everything you want to obtain will get less or diminish from that day on, just like the Moon herself.
For instance if you want to help someone lose weight, it is better to start on Full Moon, so that both your object-of-magic (the person) and the Moon will get thinner.
If the Moon is new (dark Moon), everything you want to obtain will grow or get more, just like the Moon herself.
Dark Moon is a name for three days; the day before New Moon, New Moon itself and the day after it.
If for instance you want someone to gain confidence, you better start at new Moon. Both the confidence and the Moon will grow.
It is a very strong period to perform magic, just as is the Full Moon.
So New Moon is good for:
Growing plants, starting lessons, getting stronger (recovering), opening up a new business, engaging in a marriage, a new love or even giving birth. In short everything that has to bloom.Or to learn a lesson, for your knowledge will also increase.
Full Moon is good for:
People who want to stop smoking, to start a diet, to chase mice or insects away, (there will be less and less of them).
When you want to leave home, country or state (the grief of leaving will soon get less). It is also good, when you want to cure a disease or a rash. Or if you want to take some hurt away.
Half Moon is a bad day, for on a half Moon, things will go half bad and half good.
The mood swings will be stronger and you will feel it four times that day that your mood goes up very high, one moment and topples to very low the next moment.
I usually experience the mood swings first and then realise it is a half Moon day.
On quarter Moons, the effectiveness of rituals is but a quarter of its force.
And there's another thing about Full Moon...
When you want to help undo a spell that was cast upon someone, you must also use the Full Moon, for you are taking away the strength of that other spell. In other words; You diminish the force of the old spell.
You can use the help of talismans, amulets or sigils. For instance if someone has trouble sleeping, you can print or draw, a sigil of the Moon on a piece of paper which then will be put up over one's bed. This will enforce your magic, but it has to be refreshed every fortnight.
I'll teach you more on the next occasion. For tonight: sleep tight!
Write their names in your hearts! I light these candles for the lost souls of Mr Sayilu Pandla 70 and his Wife Pochamma 65 who were burnt alive as alledged witches, only recently on the 3rd May 2007, in Upputimmayapalli 150km North of Hyderabad in India
Last week (1st week of May 2008) a girl was banned from school for having told her classmates that she was a witch and they feared for their lives as they were convinced that she had put a spell on them and that they were all going to die! The mother of the girl - also a witch - came to speak in defense for her daughter stating that Witches do not cast spells on people and that they will never cast any bad spells as the witches law tells us that everything we do to someone else will come back to us threefold. and this happened in a "Modern", "civilized" Western country??? In 2008??? When will they ever learn?
