The holidays are coming to their end and I hope you found time for a break, is it at home or on holidays. In this blog I want to show you the route that I have followed to go through China, without you getting out your dusty 15 kilo world atlas. Click on the picture to make it bigger and what it shows is China. The numbers and cities on the map are the overnights, and the zigzag lines are my travel throughs. If you don't see that the map is the map of China, no worries, I have trouble to recognize it too. A tip: look for Beijing north east. Then you know how to start the puzzle.
It took about a month and a half to do this trip through China, luckily with a break in Mongolia otherwise the overload of rice food would have been too much. China is a huge and Beatriz and myself, we did our bit, going from Tibet to Inner Mongolia, and from Beijing and Shanghai, 2 impressive Asian cities, to the South of China, Guanxi and Yunnan, that holds China's great terraced rice fields and that probably is more the China how you imagine it to look like. The locals wear their chinese hats, they float their bamboo boats on the river, and probably can take me out in 2 seconds with some kung fu arts. I love this part of China. So, have a look at the map and hopefully it makes things clearer.
Beatriz and me have the bus tonight to Lijiang and will go to see the tiger leaping gorge < http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiger_Leaping_Gorge > and will cross the border to Laos on the 30th of August. 'Sheh sheh' for now and enjoy the sunny days on your holiday !!
