Rinzilla and Oranda-jin are two folks of middle-age, one American (Rinzilla) and one Dutch (Oranda-jin).

This weblog recounts the adventures of these two on various journeys to Japan. Beginning in 2010 with their very first trip, this blog contains a somewhat truncated chronicle of a second trip in 2012.

Now in 2016, we're starting work on a new trip to Japan, and hope you, our readers, will enjoy the things we can share with you here. This trip will feature a more on longer-term residing in Tokyo for Rinzilla, and a happy reunion with Oranda-jin at the beginning of July. Thank you for your visit!

Time to dust off the blog / Terug van weg geweest

Here's hoping I remember how this all goes! I'm leaving again for Japan, in less than a week.

And this time, I get to LIVE there - for two months.

Okay, I don't have an actual job there or anything, so technically I suppose I still have to call it a vacation. Orandajin will show up a month after I do, and respects my desire to let me continue training in aikido at Honbu Dojo. Additionally, we will have two friends along with us then - first timers!

Kan ik me herinneren hoe dit allemaal gaat? Omdat ik over een week gaat weer naar Japan toe.

En nog beter: ik zal daar WONEN - althans voor twee maanden.

Afijn, ik heb daar geen werk of zo, dus misschien is 't beter te zeggen dat ik toch met vakantie ben. Orandajin zal over een maand aankomen, vergezeld met twee vriendinnen - hun eerste keer!
