    Steven Soderbergh (Ocean's Eleven, Traffic) gaat een nieuwe film maken: The Man From U.N.C.L.E. De film is gebaseerd op een tv-serie uit de jaren '60 en gaat over een Amerikaanse en Russische spion die beide werkten voor een bureau getiteld United Network Command for Law and Enforcement.

    Een hoofdrolspeler heeft Soderbergh ook al op het oog: George Clooney, met wie de regisseur al zes maal eerder samenwerkte, moet de rol van de Amerikaanse spion op zich nemen. Clooney heeft al laten weten geinteresseerd te zijn in de rol en de politieke dimensie past ook goed in zijn straatje.

    Voor Soderbergh kan beginnen met The Man From U.N.C.L.E moet hij nog wel twee andere films voltooien. De opnames van Haywire zitten er inmiddels op maar met Contagion, over de uitbraak van een levensgevaarlijk virus, is hij nog wel even bezig. Het scenario van The Man From U.N.C.L.E wordt overigens geschreven door Scott Z. Burns, met wie Soderbergh ook al samenwerkte bij The Informant en Contagion
