    Sam Worthington is Dracula

    Eerder dit jaar kwam het gerucht dat Sam Worthington (Avatar, Clash of the Titans) wel oren had naar een nieuwe film over Dracula. Nu is dat gerucht bevestigd en wordt duidelijk dat Worthington inderdaad de hoofdrol te pakken heeft in Dracula: Year Zero.

    De film zal worden geregisseerd door Alex Proyas, een man die interessante films als I, Robot, The Crow en Dark City. Zijn laatste film was Knowing, met Nicholas Cage in de hoofdrol.

    Dracula: Year Zero wordt een film over de oorsprong van Dracula en zal dan ook weinig te maken hebben met het boek van Bram Stoker. De film volgt Vlad the Impaler, een legendarische Roemeense heerser die er een gewoonte van maakt zijn vijanden te spietsen. Uiteindelijk groeit Vlad uit tot de legendarische vampier. De bedoeling is dat de opnames van Dracula: Year Zero begin volgend jaar van start zullen gaan.
