    Ryan Reynolds alweer in 4e comic verfilming

    Ryan Reynolds lijkt een record te willen halen. Hij heeft getekend voor alweer zijn vierde comic verfilming. Na Blade: Trinity (2004), Green Lantern (2011) en Deadpool(2011) gaat hij ook de hoofdrol spelen in RIPD. De film gaat over twee dode agenten die deel uitmaken van de 'Rest In Piece Department'. Ze zijn verantwoordelijk voor het overleden deel van de maatschappij en zitten dus achter boosaardige geesten aan i.p.v. levende boeven. Producer Neal Moritz zegt er het volgende over:

    “It’s terrific - based on the graphic novel. It’s about two cops, one recently dead and a gunslinger who’s been dead for hundreds of years that work on the Rest in Peace department - which is the police department of the dead. It takes place on a normal day and it’s about trying to keep the spirits quiet.”

    De film wordt gebaseerd op Peter M Lenkov’s graphic novel uit 1999, geschreven door Phil Hay en Matt Manfredi. Het project is al sinds 2006 in ontwikkeling. David Dobkin (Wedding Crashers) werd destijds genoemd als regisseur, maar het is niet bekend of hier nog steeds sprake van is. De opnames voor RIPD beginnen in januari.

    Mocht Dobkin de film gaan regisseren, dan wordt dit meteen al zijn tweede samenwerking met Reynolds. Laatstgenoemde zal namelijk ook gaan spelen in Dobkins komedie The Change-Up, waarvan de opnames zullen beginnen in oktober.
