"Minder CGI in Star Wars: Episode VII"
 Tijdens de "Star Wars Celebration Europe" heeft Lucasfilm baas Kathleen Kennedy aangegeven dat Star Wars: Episode VII van regisseur J.J. Abrams minder Computer-generated imagery (CGI) zal bevatten dat de laatste drie Star Wars films van filmmaker George Lucas.
"We're looking at what the early Star Wars films did; they used real locations with special effects. So [for Episode VII] we're going to find some very cool locations, [and] we're going to end up using every single tool in the toolbox."
Ze geeft ook de complimenten aan de vele fans die al jarenlang hun eigen Star Wars-creaties maken en delen via het web:
"I was amazed yesterday, looking at what the fans are doing," she said. "Using model makers, using real droids, taking advantage of the artwork that you can touch and feel we want to do that in combination with CG effects."
Uiteraard is er nog geen seconde van de zevende Star Wars film op de gevoelige plaat vastgelegd. Ondanks dat de opnames over enkele maanden moeten beginnen om de film in 2015 te kunnen uitbrengen, werkt scriptschrijver Michael Arndt nog steeds aan het verhaal en de personages.
