After probably doing something wrong and messing some things up, I was unable to move or resize any window.

Googling let me to try the following:

    >kwin --replace

    And it worked!

Ok, so I'm trying to restore an Ghost Image file to extract some files. I thought that it would be possible (using Norton Ghost 14) to read those .gho files, but NOOO what was I thinking... So, ok, I read somewhere that vmware converter could read those .gho files and convert them to vm's straight away. Think again on that one too... So, just boot a new empty vm, put bootcd in it and restore the bloody thing. But nooo, after booting the cd, it complained to not be able to access the cd again, aargh. The solution, finally is when Bootcd asks to load the cd drivers, just select atapi and press 'no' to all the rest. Phewww

    Another note to self...
Last month, I came across a tool to check your system if it meets 64bit virtualization requirements.  Of course, when I needed the tool a few days ago, I couldn't remember where I found it...
After going through a lot of mail, I found it again...

So, I write all my programs under windows dev tools and needed access to my development VMs.

As I grow to like kubuntu, I'm trying to keep it as my main OS, so I wanted to take over the desktops using tsclient.

Note: I am very new to this.  I write my findings here, so I don't have to spend hours trying to find the stuff I already found before.

Using the GUI adept installer thing, I didn't find an entry for tsclient, so I tried the following from a console:

    sudo apt-get install tsclient

But that couldn't find it either, so after a little googling I found that maybe I had to refresh the sources list:

    sudo apt-get update

    Then, I tried the
    sudo apt-get install tsclient
    again, and it worked...

Beginning to like it more and more...

Ok, so I have 3 drives
    -  drive 1: kubuntu
    - drive 2: data disk
    - drive 3: XP

and wanted to have grub load xp.  So my first idea was (being new to this) an entry like:

    title Windows XP
    root (hd2,0)
    savedefault
    makeactive
    chainloader +1

But that just did not want to do anything.

Next, after googling A LOT, I found this:

    https://www.redhat.com/archives/valhalla-list/2003-February/msg00732.html

So, I should change it to:

            map (hd0) (hd2)
            map (hd2) (hd0)
            rootnoverify (hd0,0)
            chainloader +1

    and it worked NOT...

But it pointed me in the right direction.  The key indeed is to let XP think it's the first hd.  But after doing the remapping, grub still sees the original layout, so the above code should be

            map (hd0) (hd2)
            map (hd2) (hd0)
            rootnoverify (hd2,0)
            chainloader +1

    And indeed, that finally worked....
