I finally had news of the Australian Embassy of Berlin that they have received the package. The letter was dated 10/04/2007, so in fact it only took them about 3 working days to assign me a case officer and a case number. I have 49 days to add something to my documents. Anything that we will do the next week of visits and touristy stuff I will probably send in. I will take Paul to the Caves in Han Sur Lesse and also to Bokrijk, which is a park that shows how people in Flanders used to live throughout the history (I’m talking 500 years ago etc.). I am really looking forward to having a week off …

WAAAAAA I just had a phonecall from immigration saying that my file is very documented and complete. On next Monday they will have to conduct a telephone interview with me and based on that, the decision will soon be made. Tending towards the very positive direction… she told me not to worry about it, its just something that had to be done she said. UNBELIEVABLE, I only just sent in the file and it is already almost decided.

Me again,

Well, so far still no news. I'm still waiting.

Next week, I took all week of just to spend with my baby. On 25 April he will have to leave to go to Australia again. , dont really feel like it at all. I know that I will miss him so much it hurts. And I know that after he's going back to Aus that I will be on my own again, meaning that no body really understands what I am going through, because they've never been in LDR before. I just hope that the good atmosphere there is right now, that it will stay like this ... Keeping my fingers crossed too that the visa will be approved.

I finally did it, I lodged my application. It took me over 5 months to collect every single document, over a month to ring up the Australian Embassy in Berlin so that they would arrange an appointment (after numerous messages on their answering machines, countless emails and telephone calls to their visa services section. But finally, they have rung back. Turns out they wanted me to rather send in the whole file, full of documents and evidence that we have collected. So I DHL-ed it on April 3rd, and having traced it with airwaybill number 1218880740, it has arrived safely to the attention of Ms. Anke Gerick in Berlin. She told me over the phone that she would deal with it in person. Now lets just hope that she keeps her word, and touch wood that she rings us up next week as she has promised. I cant wait to find out whether the visa is granted.

Anyway, I am up for another few months of waiting, I suppose. God the wait is stressful. Can't wait to find out when I will finally be with my baby again.
