Longchamp is a French leather and luxury goods company
We should know that Longchamp Taschen

individual craftsmen dispersed throughout the Loire valley countryside

expanding its retail and factory locations into Belgium and Germany. The
company also began producing clothing, scarves, and other fashion

made of vinyl and leather trim. Its popularity has allowed the Longchamp
brand to penetrate new markets abroad, including the United States.
Today, in addition to its
heritage as a leather goods firm, Longchamp has cultivated a devoted
following and brand that is now known for its designs. Venturing into
partnerships with notable designers, artists and celebrities has seen
the likes of Thomas Heatherwick design Longchamp's SoHo boutique, and
Tracey Emin and model Kate Moss create special collections. Moss has
also appeared in a number of Longchamp advertising campaigns.

Savile Row's tailors prepare to do battle with Abercrombie & Fitch
Tailors of London's Savile Row argue that the arrival of Abercrombie and Fitch
's planned kid's store will damage the integrity of the street, making
it a less desirable destination for their affluent customers.
The row between Savile Row's tailors and US outfitter Abercrombie and Fitch parijs, who plan to open a children's clothing store on the famed tailoring street, rumbles on.
Last week the American chain -
which already has a large men's and women's wear store on the
neighbouring Burlington Gardens - was told by Westminster Council that
they would not be allowed to fete the opening of the new kids' store at
No 3 Savile Row with a celebrity-filled opening party. Similarly, they
would not be allowed to play music that could be heard on the street,
nor would buggies and prams belonging customers be allowed to park on
the outside pavement. Abercrombie and Fitch amsterdam
have appealed against the measures, which were applied to appease the
Row's unhappy tailors, and the decision will now be made at a public
planning inquiry.
Now, Mark Henderson, the
chairman of heritage tailors Gieves & Hawkes and of the professional
non-profit organisation Savile Row Bespoke, has spoken on behalf of the
famous street's many tailors to further detail their issues with the
planned store.
"Savile Row is a terribly famous
address, associated with the world's best tailoring," he told the
Evening Standard . "Putting in a children's store to sell jeans and
T-shirts seriously damages the integrity of the street. The other aspect
to this is it's a narrow, quiet street and the Abercrombie model is to
pile it high and get large quantities of customers in - crowds of people
inside, crowds of people outside. That means a lot more people on the
street. That makes it less pleasant for our customers, whom we have
built up over 200 years, to come to Savile Row."
Henderson also stated that he believes Abercrombie and Fitch Outlet
have "misread the economic benefit" of positioning a kids store on the
street, stating that areas of larger footfall, such as Regent Street and
Covent Garden, would be far more suitable.
The Savile Row battle comes
shortly after the Amercan retailer reported 52 percent fall in
second-quarter earnings with a 26 percent comparable-store sales drop in
its international stores, which has subsequently led to the closure of
US stores and a scaling back of planned international expansion.
COLUMBIA, Md., July 12, 2012 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Retailing for under $45, each ring is inspired by birthstone colors
The
fashion and accessory forecast for this summer? Color. From sporting a
color block top to mixing a brightly colored dress with shoes and a
purse in contrasting tones, the ways to wear color are endless.
Just in time for the color trend, PANDORA Jewelry
recently launched 12 affordable, sterling silver rings inspired by the
colors of birthstones. Each birthday bloom ring retails for only $45 and
is designed to be stacked with other colorful or plain sterling silver
PANDORA rings. A semi-precious solitaire stone is perfectly rounded and
surrounded with delicate, hand-finished details set atop a textured band
of sterling silver beads.
"Accessories, such as jewelry, are the
most common ways for a woman to alter her look to match her outfit,"
said Angel Ilagan, Vice President, Marketing, PANDORA Sale
North America. "PANDORA's great-looking and affordable birthday bloom
rings can be a fun and easy way to add hints of color that can be worn

The 12 semi-precious stones that can be found on the PANDORA birthday bloom rings include the following:
Garnet (deep red)-- January
Amethyst (light purple)-- February
Aquamarine (pale blue) -- March
Quartz (clear/white) -- April

Carnelian (orange) -- July

tells a unique story, birthstones also have stories and folklore beyond
their color. Birthstones are believed to bestow luck or healing powers
to the person wearing the stone during its assigned month. For example,
lapis (September/blue) is believed to promote openness, truthfulness and
creativity, while citrine (November/yellow) encourages success,
abundance and clear thinking.

The News that Thomas Sabo launched two new jewellery ranges in an elegant affair at Sydneys Queen Victoria Building last week.
Around 120 media and a handful of celebrity guests celebrated the launch of the new Thomas Sabo jewellery
ranges, which included the Sweet Diamonds collection and an addition
to the Sterling Silver collection, Glam and Soul Dance.
Sweet
Diamonds marks Thomas Sabos first foray into diamond jewellery, with
pieces featuring sterling silver and yellow gold. Phil Edwards, managing
director Duraflex Group Australia, which distributes Thomas Sabo, said
the brand would remain affordable.
Sweet Diamonds signals the
entry of the brand into the genuine jewellery segment, Edwards told
Jeweller. Developing the existing target group, this collection will
also see expansion to new target groups, who are interested in genuine
materials. Sweet Diamonds is an extremely affordable luxury range and
is priced from $100 to $300 and will be available from jewellers
nationally late August.
Australia is one of the few international markets selected to sell the German brands Sweet Diamonds collection, and Thomas Sabo Sale international representative Hanny Freund helped to present the collection to Australian media.
Sweet
Diamonds, which is the fourth collection offered by the Thomas Sabo
brand along with Sterling Silver, Charm Club and Watch collections, was
also given a glitzy display treatment on the night. The display cabinet
featured a bevelled mirrored base, a distinctive button quilted leather
backdrop and Hollywood lights and new heart-shaped gift packaging.
While
a large contingent of the fashion and lifestyle press were in
attendance, the brand also acknowledged some of the new tastemakers in
fashion by inviting several online bloggers. Edwards said he was pleased
with how the bloggers helped spread the word about the event.
We experienced a wonderful response to the event on social media with imagery of the new Thomas Sabo Australia collections and positive comments spread across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, he said.
Duraflex
will be holding a cocktail party for retailers following the Sydney
Trade Fair to celebrate the new Sweet Diamonds collection with Thomas Sabo Charms CEO Bernd Stadlwieser.
Abercrombie and Fitch Model Says He Was Forced to Masturbate On Set, Now Heâs Suing for $1 Million
Ever wonder how those Abercrombie and Fitch
models manage to look so constantly cool and relaxed while tossing
around a football in their skivvies? Turns out achieving that relaxed
look can get pretty stressful: One A&F model is accusing his
modeling agent of forcing him to play with something elseand lets just
say, it didnt involve pigskin. (Yes, were talking about masturbation
here.)
Heres what (allegedly!) went down: According to TMZ,
model Benjamine Bowers was just a lowly salesperson in his local
Abercrombie store when an Abercrombie and Fitch outlet
casting director realized he might have talents beyond folding polos.
He referred Bowers to modeling agent Brian Hilburn, who then flew him
out to Jackson, Mississippi for a photo shoot.
What happened next
(again, allegedly) is the stuff of the Model Alliances nightmares. In
order for Bowers to look more relaxed in his photos, Hilburn suggested
he, well touch himself, on camera, buck nekkid. As TMZ so eloquently
puts it, Bowers took matters into his own hands. Why he complied,
were at a loss. Maybe the O-face is the next Blue Steel.
But it
didnt end there. Bowers says that the frisky shoot inspired Hilburn to
disrobe as well, leading to an obligatory size comparison conversation.
And it seems that all this foul play was for naught: A year after the
incident, Bowers has concluded that the whole thing was simply for the
agents own sick satisfaction and was never meant to further his career.
You dont say! Unsurprisingly, Bowers is now suing both Hilburn and Abercrombie and Fitch düsseldorf for $1 million which we actually think seems a little on the low side for an accusation as serious as this one.
Abercrombie deutschland
has weathered its fair share of controversy and the company
historically doesnt shy away from sexual imageryjust check out the
A&F Quarterly. So even though Bowerss disturbing accusations arent
maybe the most surprising, itll definitely make us stop and think the
next time were about to tear out an Abercrombie and Fitch deutschland ad and pin in to our bedroom wall. Not that we still do that or anything.
Abercrombie & Fitch plans to close 180 more stores
The parent company of Abercrombie and Fitch UK said it would close about 180 stores over the next few years.
The news coming that Abercrombie and Fitch Outlet
already has shut down 135 stores nationwide for cost-cutting efforts.
The company told Wall Street analysts it wanted to shut underperforming
Abercrombie & Fitch locations as well as Hollister, mostly when the
leases expire. Some will also be closed earlier than lease expirations.
Abercrombie
& Fitch has four stores in the Pittsburgh region: Ross Park Mall,
South Hills, Robinson Town Centre and Monroeville Mall.
"When we
evaluate potential closures, which we consider on a case-by-case basis,
we take into account a number of factors, including the economics of the
store on a standalone basis; the impact of potential sales transferred
to surrounding malls or our other brands in the same mall; the sales
trend of the store relative to the chain in general; and the brand
appropriateness of the location," said Jonathan Ramsden, executive vice
president and CFO, on the call.
Ramsden said if the company could,
it would close the underperforming stores "today," but that it would
take some time. He said there are 250 top stores that had a 30 percent
margin and "several hundred" that are below its objectives but still
profitable.
The closures will be oriented toward its A&F and
kids brands, though a smaller number of Hollister Co. stores are also
being shut down, according to Dow Jones. Abercrombie Outlet also owns Gilly Hicks.
At the end of the first quarter, the company operated a total of 1,049 stores. It had 279 Abercrombie UK
Outlet stores, 154 abercrombie kids stores, 491 Hollister Co. stores
and 18 Gilly Hicks stores in the U.S. The company also operated 107
stores internationally.
A 5% drop in same-store sales in the US
contributed to an 88% drop in first quarter profit, the retailer
revealed last month. The company, which is in the process of expanding
online and overseas in a bid to drive growth, said international sales
of Abercrombie and Fitch jumped 42% in the period.

Abercrombie and Fitch Co. said Wednesday its first-quarter net income shrank 88 percent because of higher costs and declining sales in established stores and in Europe. The teen retailer's shares sank 12 percent to a new 52-week low in morning trading.
For the quarter ended April 28, the New Albany, Ohio-based retailer earned $3 million, or 3 cents per share, down from $25.1 million, or 28 cents per share, a year ago. Analysts polled by FactSet expected a profit of 2 cents per share.
Revenue rose 10 percent to $921.2 million from $836.7 million, but fell short of average analysts' predictions of $951.1 million.
U.S. revenue rose 1 percent to $644.3 million, while international revenue jumped 42 percent to $277 million. Revenue for sales that went straight to shoppers, such as sales from the company's websites, rose 40 percent to $148.2 million.
But revenue at stores open at least a year fell 5 percent, with a 4 percent drop at the company's namesake stores, an 11 percent decline at cheap Abercrombie and Fitch kids stores and a 5 percent drop at Hollister stores. The metric is a key measure of a retailer's health, because it excludes sales at stores open at least a year.
Abercrombie CEO Mike Jeffries said that European sales trends were "challenging" because of the ongoing debt crisis in the region and recession in several European countries.
For the year ended Jan. 28, Europe accounted for about 20 percent of Abercrombie's total sales, according to the company's annual report. But in the first quarter of this year, the company opened a flagship Abercrombie & Fitch store in Hamburg, Germany, and six Abercrombie and Fitch Hollister stores across Europe.
Later this year, the company plans to open at least three more flagship stores across Europe, along with additional Abercrombie and Fitch Hollister outlet stores. The company's costs also climbed, rising 18 percent to $344.9 million to make its clothes, 14 percent for store and distribution expenses and up 9 percent for marketing and general expenses.
Abercrombie and Fitch sale said that based on weaker first-quarter sales, it expects 2012 revenue at stores open at least a year to fall by a mid-single digit percentage -- a decline under 10 percent. Still, the company backed its full-year profit prediction of $3.50 to $3.75, saying that it expects to make up for lower revenue by being more profitable and posting lower expenses. Abercrombie said that it expects the higher costs for cotton that have dinged results recently are largely behind it, and it expects to grow earnings in the second half of the year.
The company also predicts fewer shares outstanding, which give a lift to earnings per share. Abercrombie on Wednesday said it has increased the number of shares it can buy back by 10 million. Analysts polled by FactSet expect a full-year profit of $3.57 per share for the year ending in January 2013.
Abercrombie and Fitch outlet shares dropped $5.52, or 12 percent, to $39.88 in morning trading, after tumbling as low as $39.49 earlier in the session and passing their previous 52-week low of $40.25. The drop marked the company's lowest price since the fall of 2010.
