Zondag 22 mei lopen de laatste 2 veilingen van dit seizoen op PIPA af. Hiermee komt er een einde aan een opnieuw spectaculair veilingseizoen. Daarna lassen we een pauze van enkele maanden in. Voor diegene die nu al niet kunnen wachten, willen we jullie alvast meegeven dat ons nieuwe veilingseizoen van start gaat op 16 augustus.

Mei-veiling
In onze jaarlijkse Mei-Veling brengen we steeds een verzameling topduiven waarbij heel wat liefhebbers uit België, Nederland, Duitsland, Frankrijk en Engeland één of meerdere duifjes in de veiling brengen.
Zoals we eerder reeds hadden aangekondigd, zal een deel van de opbrengst van deze laatste veiling van het seizoen geschonken worden aan een organisatie die meewerkt aan de heropbouw of de ondersteuning ervan, in Japan net zoals we dit deden begin 2005 voor de getroffenen van de tsunami in Thailand-Indonesië-Sri Lanka, en in 2008 bij de aardbeving in China toen we een cheque overhandigden aan Unicef!

On Sunday the 22nd of May the last 2 auctions of PIPA's current auction season will end. In the months after we will take a short summer break until the 16th of August when we will kick off next year's auction season.

Our yearly May auction always includes a collection of top pigeons from excellent fanciers from Belgium, Holland, Germany, France and England.
As mentioned before part of the profit of this auction will be donated to a good cause. PIPA made similar efforts back in 2005 when the tsunami hit Indonesia and in 2008 when China was struck by an earthquake. This year we would like to show our support for the victims of the Japanese earthquake.

Great to see you all miss my Daily Episode!!! An email box full this morning with questions why I did not send out the Daily Episode yesterday. Customers asking if I am okay, because the offered Jan Theelen pair on the homepage was there of 3 days. Well guy's to answer all the mail at ones, I am fine but I have a bad flu... I can feel every muscle in my body, am still cold with 3 sweaters in my bed... But the good news today I feel a bit better than yesterday so I think I will be okay in a few days... Beste vrienden, Ook deze week hebben we niet stil gezeten! Alle duiven kregen een chipring aan en kunnen nu bij het binnenkomen geregistreerd worden! Deze week zullen we de duiven koppelen aan jullie naam en kunnen jullie de toppertjes volgen via internet. Meer info volgt hierover. Ook werden ze deze week nog eens in de korf gestoken om eerst te leren drinken en ten tweede om een klein oefenvluchtje af te werken. Bijna ging het mis toen een grote groep van meer dan 600 duiven op de lossingsplaats zich met de onze vervoegden. De eerste ronde kwam desondanks vlot naar huis maar van de 2de ronde waren er een 30 's avonds niet op het apel. Uiteindelijk is 30 achterblijvers op 180 nog geen ramp maar het was wel opvallend dat het allemaal jongen waren van de 2de ronde. Niet één van de eerste ronde bleef weg. Ze werden medisch gecontroleerd, zowel de keel uitstrijkjes als het mest bleek in orde. Stilaan komen de vluchten dichterbij en wordt van nu niks meer aan het toeval overgelaten. Ze zullen van heel dichtbij gevolgd worden.
Pieken en dalen (15-05-2011) De eerste weken van het vliegseizoen hebben fantastische vluchtdagen opgeleverd, daarover kan niemand klagen lijkt me. Iedereen had de kans zijn duiven onder prima weersomstandigheden te spelen en ook de fondliefhebbers welke de jonge duiven in 2010 niet of weinig hadden afgericht hebben nu mogelijkheden volop en richten de minder ervaren jaarlingen succesvol af. Zo, het weer is dan toch omgeslagen. De vooruitzichten zijn nou niet echt best te noemen, althans, voor ons niet maar de boeren met hun kurgdroge landerijen zullen er blij mee zijn. Ondanks de vooruitzichten kwamen we er voor wat de vluchten betreft goed af. Ook deze ochtend is alles weer gelost.Lees volledige artikel..

Het is ons opgevallen, niet de eerste keer,dat een beetje hygiëne veel ongemakken kan voorkomen. Laatst nog zei mijn vrouw tegen mij :Zie dat je eerst die tafels grondig reinigt, want die zijn niet meer gekuist sedert het eind van vorig seizoen. Op ieder vlieghok zijn er tafels aangebracht, die op en neer kunnen klappen, juist onder de invliegramen aan de binnenkant van de hokken. Lees volledige artikel.....

Het is alweer een poosje geleden dat we u een nieuwsbrief hebben gestuurd. Onze overwinning op Morlincourt in de Regio tegen 5.281 duiven vond ik een mooie aanleiding!
Met een west-noordwestenwind hadden wij absoluut niet op een eerste plaats in groot verband gerekend gisteren. De eerste duif kwam wel uit de 'goede hoek' en op dat moment waren geen andere duiven te zien. Toen we vervolgens nog enkele minuten op nummer 2 moesten wachten (die achteraf de 18e wint tegen 5.281 duiven) bleek wel dat we een vroege hadden.
De allervroegsten in héél Afdeling 8 op deze Teletekstvlucht zaten, logischerwijs, aan de oostkant van de GOU. Mocht de afdeling niet zijn opgesplitst in Noord en Zuid maar in Oost en West (wat ik eerlijker zou vinden), dan hadden wij de 1e gespeeld in West (Regio 1 & 3). Hierbij dien ik wel te zeggen dat wanneer dat gebeurd zou zijn Regio 1 (de verdere afstand) ook niet aan bod zou zijn gekomen, maar de verschillen zouden niet zo groot geweest zijn als nu. Dat de verschillen zo groot zijn heeft natuurlijk alles te maken met de afstand van deze vlucht, voor mij 311 kilometer. Dit is eigenlijk te kort voor Teletekst. Andere afdelingen maken het nog bonter, die vervliegen Teletekstvluchten van minder dan 200 kilometer. Afbreuk van Teletekstuitslagen vind ik dat.
Al 5 x 1e ... op vijf vluchten
Vanaf de eerste vlucht dit seizoen winnen we in ons inkorfcentrum PV Maas & Waal te Druten, waar we met twee clubs inmanden, steevast de eerste prijs. Dit weliswaar eenmaal op het hokje van Kerwin (bij mij thuis) waar we ook met vier oude duiven deelnemen (die tussen de jongen verblijven). In groot verband zitten we er ook telkens goed bij!
Waarschijnlijk is de kans groot dat u al met u zevende, achtste of negende vlucht bezig bent, maar wij zijn opnieuw drie weken later gestart dan de rest van Nederland. Daarmee gaan voor de leden van Afdeling 8 nu al topnoteringen bij verschillende categorieën bij bijvoorbeeld WHZB aan hun neus voorbij.
