Jump wordt gekenmerkt door vrolijke melodieën waarin een redelijk harde bass in voorkomt. Dikwijls bevatten Jump-nummers ook een geluidsopname van een bekende film of een doorgaans mannelijke vocal. Doorgaans vallen deze samples of vocals vlak voor het hoogtepunt van het nummer, waarna het helemaal losbarst. Door de 'trancy' melodie die dikwijls voorkomt bij Jump, wordt dit genre wel eens verward met het hardere Hardtrance. Jump wordt door niet-kenners dikwijls verward met Hardstyle, Hardtrance tot zelfs Hardcore en House. Het probleem is dat deze genres elkaar dikwijls heel dicht benaderen of zelfs in elkaar overlopen. (Nog even ter verduidelijking: House wordt doorgaans beschouwd als de moeder van al dance-muziek dat gemaakt is met een computer, synthesizer en drumcomputer) In Nederland spreekt men soms van Nederlandse oldstyle sound die in een nieuw jasje is gegoten met vrolijke club-house-achtige beats en rave, in combinatie met oldschool/hardcore bass. Sedert de start, is The Fun een waar succesverhaal, er gaat geen weekend voorbij of The Fun barst letterlijk uit zijn voegen, zodoende we zelf sedert kort uitgeweken zijn op zaterdagavond naar gistel, omdat onze The Fun locatie te roeselare op zaterdagavond te klein werd...
