Laptop problem is solved for now, so can email, send and receive again!!! a little slower then usual, but hey, I had to do 23 updates, no notice received, so how was I supposed to know, whatever!!!!
Eli is doing fine, eating, resting and taking walks with the pack!!
Whelping box is set up, heating lamp is hanging, towels, vetbeds, newspaper, cords in all colours, charts and thermometer is ready to start taking temps on Wednesday, if it drops one degree we will know to expect delivery within about 24 hours.
It worked the former two nests perfectly so we will see.
Added another lying down picture, nothing exciting right now, but soon I hope.....
Well, no more walking off leash as of today and running through woods and stuff like that. She is still walking good, but you can see that she is getting heavier and heavier!!!
Unfortunately my laptop is crashing, no incoming email!! I can still go through the providers website but it will make it harder to download pictures.
The son will be able to fix it ( he is an IT'er, but of course he has a business trip this week, so will have to wait till next weekend).
Today is set up day of whelping box etc. with help of son in law and daughter and then the rest of the days, she will take walks and rests and let the siblings work !!
As soon as things are happening ,I will update.
You can also look at facebook under my name ,Boukje Eekma
Passed by the vet today and had a weigh-in. She has gained 4.2 kilo, so that is good and we did an ultrasound for fun and saw heart beats and backbones and ribs and one puppy was swallowing, so really cool!!!
All looked and felt good and he thought she looked great, shiny and curly and pregnant!!!!
Today is around day 40, so we are getting 3 meals a day with yogurt and honey and some kibbles at noon.
Next week we will add a late evening snack of some extra food, as she is really starting to get hungry for food now and need the extra and with pups being in the way, I can't just give her bigger meals.
She is also starting to look bigger, especially as she is always laying on her back with paws in the air and then you can really feel the tightness of her stomach>
She is still very eager to work and I let her, but as of a few days ago, I don't let her jump ditches anymore or go into the water.
But nice straight lines and a search is still going well.>
It all started in 1999 with the import of Kelsey, "Half Moon Destiny of Topbrass" from Atlanta Georgia.
I had been looking for a working dog and got the address of a breeder in America, who lived close to friends of mine there and it turned out that this breeding had some of the best working lines in America in the pedigree.
I contacted Katherine Willis, the breeder and asked if she would consider letting me have a female puppy and since there were 4 females, I got Kelsey after the litter was puppy tested by Connie Cleveland, who is the owner of FC, AFC,OTCH Topbrass Ascending Elijah and also the father of the puppies.
Kelsey turned out to be a very active and very good and healthy working dog, with lots of excellent results all over Europe.
She is now 11 years , 4 months and still very active and still retrieving and stealing my blinds after I have put them out for her daughters and granddaughter.
She had two litters in 2004 out of Semper Modesto Bronco also an American bred golden , living with Oliver Kiraly in Hungary.
A litter of 8 and a litter of 10.
I kept a female out of each litter.
Whispering Oaks Dutch Blue "ELI" named after her grandfather and Whispering Oaks Dickens "JINKS".
Eli had a litter 3 years ago of 9 puppies out of Firemark Pedal to the Metal,Shift also owned by Oliver and also american lines and I kept a female out of that litter, Whispering Oaks Golden Paws "GIBBS", who is now 3 years old .
Jinks had a litter of 2 puppies last year out of Firemark Lofty Monty, owned by Oliver and Noemi and also American lines. Eli also had a litter out of Monty and had 3 puppies.
A litter is planned with:
Whispering Oaks Dutch Blue X Clockburne Clyde.
A beautiful ,good working dog ,bred in Scotland, so this will be a total outcross, but I think that will be a good step as all the lines are getting a little close.
Pedigrees of both dogs are on www.k9data.com
Eli was bred to Clyde on Januari 2 & 4th 2011 and if all goes well, puppies will be born around March 7th.
I will have an ultrasound done at the end of Januari to confirm her pregnancy.
