... whether you dare to venture beyond the obvious, and further
... if you are drawn to emotional sensitivity and depth
    or shrink back from them
... whether you can truly embrace intense joy but also great sorrow
... if you can come home after a hard day's work, weary and exhausted,
    and still do what needs to be done for your wife and children
... whether you will still be here after everyone else has gone
... if you will carry me through when life is too painful for me to bear alone
... whether you dare to follow me to the deepest recesses of my soul,
    and if you will let me into the most vulnerable parts of your heart and soul
... if a child's smile and a child's tears touch you to the core
... whether the human suffering in this world has left you indifferent
    or has called out to you to make a difference
... if you can endure pain and suffering
    and still stand tall
    without shutting me out
... what keeps you going, from the inside, when grief and despair engulf you
... whether you like your own company
... who you truly are...
