Gifts:
Egyptian people appreciate it, because it is an old habbit they have.
You make them happy with a small giftbox. Do not bring a expensive gift. Bring a souvenir!
Otherwise you would be embarrased.

Handshaking and kissing:
It is common in Egypt to shake hands. I will give you the advice, to wait for an action.
for example: Wait untill they shake your hands.
Otherwise Egyptian people they are concluding,you do not have respect for them.
Kissing on the cheek or hugging is common among friends, so you would rather avoid the habits.
Kissing on the cheeks of a women is acceptable, if you barely know them. You just get to know them.
Greetings like kissing between men and women is not exceptable.
Handshaking is the most appropriate greeting you can do.
