Rondzwabberende broeken, ingevallen wangen: Op recente foto's ziet Bill Kaulitz er zo ongezond uit, dat de volgende vraag zich aandringt: heeft hij anorexia? De Tokio Hotel zanger ontkent: "Maak je maar geen zorgen om mijn eetgewoontes."
Naar het schijnt werkt hij grote hoeveelheden fast food, pasta en milchreis naar binnen. Desondanks lopen zijn beweringen op niets uit, omdat "het is typisch voor mensen die aan anorexio lijden dat ze het ontkennen," legt Thomas Kurscheid uiit. "De zieken hebben een verkeerd beeld van zichzelf, ze geloven dat ze veel te dik zijn." Hoe dan ook, de 19-jarige claimt slechts 50 kilo te wegen. Veels te weinig voor iemand met een lengte van 1.77!

Zijn ondergewicht kan natuurlijk ook iets natuurlijks zijn (Bill: "Ik was altijd al zo slank!) of een reactie op het stresvolle leven in de schijnwerpers, een resultaat van energievragende optredens en tournees. Desondanks gaat de expert ervanuit dat het een psychologisch probleem is: "Bill's leven wordt al door managers gecontroleerd. Het is dan niet meer dan logisch dat hij de controle over zijn gewicht wilt behouden..."

FAZ, a very reliable German newspaper, has posted a new article claiming that Universal Music plans to send Tokio Hotel back to the United States in November for another tour. This is because after winning a VMA on Sunday, Universal decided to put a lot more money and effort into promoting Tokio Hotel in America, the biggest and toughest market in the world.
An unexpected award from MTV has given Universal Music a boost in their efforts to establish the German teen band Tokio Hotel in America. The sales numbers of Tokio Hotels music in the American online music store iTunes have climbed steadily over the past few days, on Tuesday, their album Scream was at position 19 in the charts. On Sunday, the band won the Best New Artist award at the annual MTV Video Music Awards.
Universal launched a campaign this year to make the band a success in the US, too. The American market is the largest in the world, so were investing more money to establish Tokio Hotel there than in any other country, the head of Universal Germany, Frank Briegmann, told our newspaper. Its a daring experiment, because the US is said to be a tough market in which few strangers become stars, especially if theyre not from English-speaking countries. One of the few real, big German successes was singer Nena with her song 99 Red Balloons in 1983. But Universal felt encouraged by Tokio Hotels great success in other countries to try their luck in the US. Tokio Hotel had their breakthrough in Germany in 2005 and landed hits in countries like France and Poland soon after.
This spring, the band released their first English record, Scream, in America and made it to position 39 in the Billboard charts. Sales went back a bit after that, which Briegmann claims to have anticipated from the start: More effort and work is required in America. We knew that from the beginning. Briegmann feels reassured by online sales numbers after the award now, and hopes that the album will return to the Billboard charts. According to him, Tokio Hotel have sold 105000 records so far; Briegmann hopes itll be 500000, ultimately. To keep up a steady presence, Universal wants to send Tokio Hotel back on their third American tour this November. Briegmann states that because of the focus on America, other of the bands target markets like Asia will have to wait a little longer.

They are the most famous twins of the pop world and know each other since they opened there eyes for the first time. Bill (19) and Tom (19)! Millions of fans are after the boys since they broke through with Durch den monsun. Words of love are screamed at them all over the world in every single language. What a duo! Bill is the mysterious frontman. Billboard of the band. About girls and love he is most silent. Tom is the more outspoken type, always has something to say. So different but at the same time very much alike. The Tokio Hotel twins share more then just brotherly love. There doesnt exist a more closer connection then between us, Bill explains about the magical connection between him and his twin brother. We are so different but still so much the same! We dont look like twins but are soulmates, Tom adds to that. For that reason the boys also know how the other one feels. Tom explains: When I look at Bill I know exactly what he thinks. I sense when he has a problem. Even when he is not around me. We communicate a lot without saying anything. While they feel so connected, they dont wanna let anything come between them especially not a girl. When a girl has got something against my brother, I cant be in love with her. I dont allow anyone to stand between us. Bill tells. And also Tom makes clear: I cant imagine trusting a girl just as much as Bill. I would also never spend less time with Bill just because I have a girlfriend. She has to accept him just as she accepted me. That they prefer to spend every minute of there lives together they prove at there 19th birthday on 1 September. The night before they went with there bandmates Georg and Gustav and there team to Restaurant The Ivy in West Hollywood for dinner. After that they celebrated on the roof of there hotel until midnight and the time of there birthday. There actual birthday they only spend together! Without the crew or manager and even without Georg and Gustav the boys relaxed at the beach of Santa Monica/ California. Tom relaxed with his dreads down and naked upper body next to his brother, who was despite the weather still wearing his black clothes. Together the relaxed in there chairs, caught some sunlight or just walked down the beach and off course they did it all together. Actually, we do everything together. The only thing not is going to the toilet, taking a bath or shower, Bill laughs. But then he gets serious again; I always imagine the following situation: We are standing on the edge of a cliff and a voice says; one of you has to jump and can never come back. We would jump together. A hundred percent sure ..

Verhuist Tokio Hotel naar Amerika?
Tokio Hotel en hun sensationele overwinning tijdens de MTV Video Music Awards in LA: Verhuizen Bill (19), Tom (19), Georg (21) en Gustav (20) nu naar Amerika?
"Voor de wereldcarrière zou dat wel eens heel belangrijk kunnen zijn," zegt muziekexpert Thomas Stein (59). "Ze moeten in de USA zijn, dat willen de fans. Ze willen hun sterren op grijpafstand hebben, anders verliezen ze hun interesse."
Tokio Hotel maken er in ieder geval geen geheim vinden dat ze het in de States naar hun zin hebben. Afgelopen voorjaar wisten ze in New York duizenden fans met concerten te verrassen.
Maar dan de vraag...Kan het zijn dat de band dankzij het MTV-succes naar Ami-land gaat verhuizen? Zin in het avontuur "Amerika" hebben Bill & co meerdere malen laten zien. Maar na al die tourstress willen de jongens ook wel weer eens terug naar Duitsland.
Bill tegen BILD: "Ik kan het me op het moment niet voorstellen om ergens anders dan in Duitsland te wonen. De laatste drie jaren is zo veel gebeurd, alles wat we beleven is net een droom!"
De rockster verlangt naar vastheid: "Van al dat gereis word ik soms behoorlijk moe," zegt Bill. "Natuurlijk, het is leuk, maar nu vind ik niets fijner dan het slapen in mijn eigen bed."
Tom grijnst: "Mijn kleine broertje heeft heimwee. Hij praat alleen maar over zijn bedje in Duitsland."
Dus: Eerst dag-dag USA, dan hallo Duitsland! Morgen vliegt de band weer naar huis...

a hell of a day!
Vandaag begon al goed ... vanmorgen 20 minuten te laat vertrokken en dan ook nog eens op de eerste rij gezeten om een ongeluk met een fietser te zien gebeuren. Dan te horen gekregen wie er een vriend van mij een blauw oog heeft geslagen, plus nog eens alle miserie die erbij kwam kijken. En vervolgens een 50% van Duits terugkrijgen.
Een mens komt dan thuis na een busreis om onozel van te worden en een klein halfuurtje in de trein te zitten omgeven door allerlei associale gastjes die niets beters hebben te doen dan met hun voeten -op de bank voor hen- te slapen.Men wrijft onder mijn neus gewreven dat ik zo een beetje kribbig ben, dus je slentert maar met een megagoedhumeur naar je kamer, opent je schoolagenda en merkt dat je nog een stapel huiswerk te doen hebt (ookal is het nog maar de tweede dag van september).
Bon, dan kan ik je dus maar zeggen dat de leuke reacties op mijn berichtjes mij wel plezier doen! -en ik ben een keertje niet sarcastisch-
ª Wat ik buiten al het vorige daarnet ook al ondekt heb, is dat Tokio Hotel vandaag niet op de cover/poster van de Joepie staat.
ª Leuk nieuws is dat Tokio Hotel maar liefst drie maal genomineerd is voor de TMF awards (België). Of ze dit jaar ons plezier komen doen met een optreden, betwijfel ik zeer. Maar dat belet ons ook niet om te stemmen hé!

This is a party Tokio Hotel will never forget! The Magdeburger boys are the winners of the pop prize MTV Video Music Awards as first german band ever!
It is the absolute crown on there young carreer!
The four Magdeburger boys from Tokio Hotel are in LA crowned as Best newcomer (Ready, Set, Go) on the MTV Video Music Awards.
With this the moonman went for the first time in his 25 year history of the awards to a german band!
Now Bill (19), Tom (19), Georg (21) and Gustav (20) are worldstars and they also party like them!
Shortly after 20.00hour the boys got awarded in front of millions of tv watchers (in really good English): Now we wanna thank all our fans all over the world.
Bill to Bild: After we received the award I was totally stunned and after that Tom drank us all under the table till 5am. On a privat party from there recordlabel Interscope-Universal in Santa Monica with a view on the Baywatch beach from Malibu .
Tom:We just wanted one thing, party hard! Just like stars as Britney, Christina Aguilera, Pink or Kid Rock.
Wodka with Red Bull they drank for courage, a few glasses of champagne against the commotion, and a water the flush it all away. Tom: Awesome party and the girls are also very fly. They constantly scream wherever we go.
When the sun rises over the Pacific beach to say Good Morning, the four boys in four star hotel Casa del Mar are saying Good night.
The next plans for Tokio Hotel: One talkshow performance in the USA, then the flight back to Germany. Now Bill, Tom, Gustav and Georg wanna get back in the studio again to record there third album.

Sep 5 2008 8:03 AM EDT Tokio Hotel 'Don't Expect' To Snag Best New Artist VMA From The Ladies 'We have no chance,' frontman Bill Kaulitz says of band's two nominations.
By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Kim Stolz Tokio Hotel are the only males to be nominated for Best New Artist at this year's Video Music Awards they are also the only foreign act contending for the prize. Maybe that will give them the edge, but the guys are quite shy about their chances of snagging a Moonman at Sunday's big show.
"We don't expect it, so for us, it's so cool to be nominated," frontman Bill Kaulitz told MTV News. "I think it's really, really special for us it's America and it's our first American award, and that's so huge."
The German pop-rockers are up against American pop stars like Jordin Sparks and Miley Cyrus, but back in Germany, the guys are the megastars. They've sold millions of records in their home country and scored several #1 hits since they got together in 2001. Being crowned Best New Artist in front of an American audience would only solidify their fame here in the United States.
Just because they're rock stars back home doesn't mean they don't appreciate being nominated for a VMA. "I mean, I still can't believe it," Bill said. "Last year we were nominated at the [MTV Europe Music Awards; they won one] and it was the biggest thing we had, and now it is the Video Music Awards.
"It's really hard to get fans in another country, especially here America is so, so big, so it's really hard to get known in this country," Bill told MTV News back in May. "We are so excited we have fans here at all. In America, we see a fan and it is like, 'Oh, we are proud! We have a fan in America!' "
But with a couple of VMA nominations on their side, it seems that now they have more than just one fan in the States. Guitarist Tom Kaulitz added, "To be nominated at the VMAs, for a German band, I think it's crazy."
The guys also have a chance to pick up the Best Pop Video trophy for "Ready, Set, Go!" Of going up against the likes of the Jonas Brothers, Bill modestly said, "We have no chance." But one thing he does hope he has a chance of doing is meeting Rihanna at the big show on Sunday. "I think it would be so cool to meet Rihanna, 'cause she's so sexy."
