Over and done: Tokio Hotel ontslaat VSD Hamburg

Geruchten deden al een tijdje de ronde onder de Tokio Hotel fans, maar vlak voor het concert in Sayreville heeft Tobi het grote nieuws aan enkele fans verteld. VSD Hamburg is ontslagen als de security van de band en een nieuwe maatschappij is ingeschakeld om de job op zich te nemen.

Wat het meest verontrustend is en wat we eigenlijk niet hadden verwacht, is dat niet het management, maar de Jungs zélf de beslissing hebben genomen om VSD te ontslaan. Een fan vertelt:

"Saki is ontslagen en hij werkt sowieso niet meer voor Tokio Hotel. Tobi heeft VSD Hamburg voortijdig verlaten. Desondanks heeft hij toch een nieuw contract weten te krijgen en nu is hij de baas van de security (dat verklaart dus waarom de dude in kwestie geen VSD shirt droeg...).

Four Artists neemt nu het zaakje van VSD over. Het is alleen nog niet helemaal duidelijk met het hoe en wat, het zou best eens kunnen dat een lokale beveiligingsdienst wordt ingeschakeld terwijl Tobi toeziet op wat er gaande is. Althans, dat hoop ik."

Hi guys it’s Bill!
It’s been a pretty busy summer since our last stay here in the U.S.! We performed at tons of festivals all over Europe but now we are back in the States and the first thing I have to say is: THANK YOU so much for all your support these last few days. Being nominated at the MTV VMAs was really unbelievable for us! Your votes made this happen and we’re totally blown away – it’s sooo exciting! 

But let’s have a look at what has happened so far in America: We had a great start in NYC where we spent most of our first week at MTV's TRL, which was pretty cool.

Then, on Thursday night we had the kick off gig for our American concert run in New Jersey. The whole concert was wicked and we had an awesome time with all the fans!

After the New Jersey show we boarded our tour bus to head to Montreal, Canada where we performed at a festival and then it was already time to come back to the U.S.!

Actually, right now we are on our way to Cleveland and we’ll be spending all of August touring in the States so make sure to check our concert dates. We hope to see all of you guys at one of our shows!

Oh, the other three guys just told me to say “Hi” from them! Take care and hope to see you soon!

Zware tijden voor Tokio Hotel haters!
Tokio Hotel: Video Music Award Nominering

Wow! Nu gaat het pas echt de goede kant op voor Kaulitz & Co. Tokio Hotel laten terzijnertijd de Amerikaanse TRL Hotline gloeien en MTV wijdt zelfs een hele fanweek aan de Jungs. Hierdoor ligt het hele gebied rondom New York's Times Square plat, omdat daar alles wordt opgenomen. Voor Tokio Hotel voelt dit vast nog steeds als een droom.

En bij alles wat al genoemd is komt nog een schepje bovenop, want de band is namelijk ook voor een MTV Video Music Award genomineerd in de categorie "Best Pop Video" met het nummer "Ready, Set, Go!". De uitreikingen vinden op 9 september in Los Angeles plaats en Bill kan het nog niet helemaal vatten:

"Voor ons is het zo cool om genomineerd te zijn. Het is echt, echt iets bijzonders. Het is Amerika en het zal onze eerste Amerikaanse award zijn. Geweldig!"

Het is bijna onbegrijpelijk wat Tokio Hotel op het moment berreiken, maar ze hebben het succes zonder twijfel verdiend. Congratulations!

Americans love our boys!
Tokio-Hotel-week at MTV USA

Americans are in a flap since the first concert of the German whizz kids Tokio Hotel on American ground – especially the females! The hysteria of the US-fans knows no limits like you can see in the chart-show “TRL” at MTV.

The New Yorker Time square is totally marked by Tokio Hotel since Monday, August 4th, 2008! The MTV-show is taped there – and the music-channel dedicates the German boys an entire fan-week. In the show are not only shown the videos and performances of the teenager-band, but also the boys are guests in the studio. Bill, Tom, Gustav and Georg account 60 minutes, moderate and give a live-concert.

One of the many topics: their VMA-nomination!

Tokio Hotel are nominated for the “MTV Video Music Award 2008” (September, 9th [actually the 7th], Los Angeles) with their music-clip of the song “Ready, Set, Go!” (“Übers Ende der Welt”) in the category “Best Pop-Video”.
In the MTV-TRL-Interview Bill says about that: “ It`s so cool for us to be nominated! It`s really, really something special – it`s America and it`s our first American award-nomination.. That`s great!”

It`s fact: America likes our four Magdeburger boys!

Scream-alarm, cuddly toys-throwing and some “Marry me”-placards cause Tokio Hotel-fever since Monday.

At the beginning of their abroad-journeys the boys performed at the famous open-air-festival: “Giants Stadium”. The boys have really gained a foothold in America!

Tokio Hotel took a break from their TRL hosting duties, meeting fans, and from spending their downtime in the green room playing “Rock Band” (they did a Foo Fighters song, for the record) for a four-on-one Buzzworthy interview.

Watch as they address their oft-referenced Spiderman fan (Bill’s “hi!” = hee!), the possibly non-existent Jonas Brothers fan feud, how it feels to switch back and forth between English and German, and, naturally, girls.

Oh! The most amazing moment involves their virginity status, courtesy of Tom and his oversharing ways. Gotta love that absolute lack of shame.

Tokio Hotel Gush About VMA Nomination, Rihanna, 'Sexy' Jonas Brothers

Tokio Hotel may still be somewhat new to the American scene, but they sure have some rabid fans.

This week, the guys told MTV News about one girl who risked her life for the chance to meet the band.

"She climbed into our bedroom — it was horrible," guitarist Tom Kaulitz groaned. His brother, singer Bill, added, "It was the second floor and it was really crazy. We were like, 'Oh ... hi?' But she was so sweet. She was very nervous."

The German band say they can't believe they've been nominated for a Best Pop Video VMA this year, especially since it puts them in company with the likes of such big names as the Jonas Brothers, Britney Spears and Panic at The Disco.

"We don't expect it, so for us it's so cool to be nominated," Bill said. "It's really, really special for us — it's America and it's our first American award, and that's so huge."

The band's slightly uneven command of English was noticeable when they talked about going up against the Jonas Brothers for the award. "I think the Jonas Brothers are really sexy in America," Bill said. "Everyone is talking about the Jonas brothers."

The guys said they don't think they're going to win, but they're happy enough just being nominated. "It's so crazy, I mean, I still can't believe it," Bill gushed. "Last year we were nominated at the [MTV Europe Music Awards; they won one] and it was the biggest thing we had, and now it is the Video Music Awards."

That excitement — as well as some nervousness — carries over to the band's U.S. tour, which kicks off in New Jersey on Thursday. "We are nervous before every concert," Bill said. "I think we are the most nervous band in the world. We are together nervous." The band plans to continue work on its next LP during the tour. "We are right now in the studio in Europe and we are producing our third record so I think there are some surprises," Bill added. "I've always have my laptop with me and a pen."

Back to the VMAs, the band has one more hope for that big night. "I think it would be so cool to meet Rihanna," Bill said, " 'cause she's so sexy."

The 25th VMAs are scheduled to take over the legendary Paramount Pictures Studios in Hollywood on September 7, with the Jonas Brothers already confirmed to perform. Of course, additional acts will be gracing the VMA stage this year, and those names will be unveiled in the coming weeks. British funnyman and "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" co-star Russell Brand has been named the show's host.

In the spring you had to cancel a lot of concerts, because Bill had to be operated for a cyst on the vocal chords. Now you are back on the track. How does it feel to be back?
Bill: It is SO great to be back on stage again. I was really terrified under the whole process. Its obvious, that you get worried and thinks "What if my voice will be ruined?", or "What if I dont sound like before". Luckily I had a quick recover. First time I was on the stage after my surgery, it was really awesome, and I really enjoy the concerts we are playing at the moment.

What did Bills illness meant for the band?
Georg: It was a situation, where the power was out of our hands. The only thing we could do, was wish him well, and then just wait.
Tom: It took some time, before we actually realised we had to cancel the rest of our tour. In the beginning, when Bill went to Germany to get checked, the rest of us kept travelling from town to town, because all along we hoped he would come back.
Bill: I actually think the whole experience have brought us closer together.

Were you afraid it was over for Tokio Hotel?
Tom: Of course we thought about it. Especially in the beginning, were we didnt know what was wrong. But after some time, we started to think about the future, and that Bill would come back at some point. The worst we could imagine, was that I had to take over for Bill. Haha

You are currently breaking through in USA. Why is that so important for you?
Tom: To go to USA and try our luck there, is really amazing - especially for a German band. It's really rare that happen. So of course we will take the chance when it comes, and see if we can make it over there. But its really not like we have a masterplan, on which countries we want to do make it in. It's usually our fans, that discovers us online, and when we see there's a lot that likes us, we go there. That's how it works for us.

What is the craziest thing you have experienced in USA so far?
Bill: There's so many things, it's hard to choose. But recently, we experienced something pretty wild in L.A. We were sitting in the backstage-room after our concert, when all of the sudden, we hear a strange sound. Then we discovered it was a girl, trying to crawl through the window, on the second floor! Unfortunately, she got stuck, and then she even lost her camera. Pretty crazy.

Some of your Danish fans, feel a little disappointed over the cancelled concerts in Denmark, and that you havnt rescheduled. What would you like to say to them?
Bill: We really want to say - particularly me - that we are really, really sorry we had to cancel. We really couldnt do anything else in that situation. Unfortunately, we havn't been able to find new dates, but we promise we havn't forgotten about them, and that we will try to come and play as soon as possible.

So, the band has left their hotel. Bill is wearing red, Tom is wearing black and he has cut his dreads to about shoulder length. That’s all we know so far. Oh yes, Bill’s hair is still all black, no streaks added. Everyone is on their way to the studio now. Check this thread for updates as the day progresses.

The motto of Rock in Rio is 'For a better world'.What would you do to make the world a better place?

-Bill:That is a really difficult question and it can´t be answered with only one sentence.There´s always a lot of things that can be done to make the world better.A festival like this is a good first step and participating in it as musicians too.

-How was yesterday´s concert in Barcelona?

-Bill:We are verey pleased with our spanish fans.Last night we played there and it was a beautiful concert.We have a very good feeling with our spanish fans.

-Have you ever been afraid of reaching success at such a young age?

-Tom:There are things that happen to us that we still can´t believe,like been able to perform at Rock in Rio.It´s true that we´re having success,we know we´ve had a lot of luck and sometimes we´ve needed time to assume all this.

-Are you always dressed up like that?

-Tom:We´d love to be able to always dress like this,but what happens is that we can´t anymore.When we went to school we did dress like this because it´s our style,but now it would be a little uncomfortable to go outside like this because everybody would recognise us.

-Bill, how are you feeling after the operation?Have you noticed any change in your voice?

-Bill:No,and i´m really happy.Now finally i can say that everything is like before,which was the aim of the operation.It is true that it was a specially low time in our career and also personally i was deeply touched.The worst was that we we´re very sorry for all our fans for all the concerts we had to cancell.A vocalist is always afraid of being operated(?) on the voice,but fortunately,now i can say i´m fully recovered.

Pfff, dan gaat een mens naar "Hapje-tapje" (Leuven),
wordt er door mijn pa geen oranje saus op mijn witte pull gemorst
en ga ik met mijn zwarte broek niet in een witte kauwgum zitten!

Er was dus vertraging omdat madam hier met een zak ijs en een mes de chic van haar broek moest krijgen.

Ik geef je nog wat prulletjes:

Exclusief bij VOICI! De leadzanger van de Duitse band heeft zijn rijbewijs gehaald en om zichzelf te feliciteren, kocht hij maar gelijk een auto.

Bill Kaulitz, hij is mooi, hij zingt goed, hij heeft stijl, is rijk, hij is...

Kortgezegd, er was slechts een ding dat bij Bill nog ontbrak, namelijk de mogelijkheid om met een geweldige auto over het asfalt te scheuren. Het enige probleem dat de zanger in de weg lag, was het feit dat al de andere TH-bandleden in een keer slaagden en Bill niet.

Maar na een paar weken waarin hij extra rijlessen had genomen, had Bill van Tokio Hotel weer voldoende zelfvertrouwen en deed hij dus weer rijexamen. Met succes overigens, want sinds twee dagen (afgelopen woensdag) heeft hij zijn rijbewijs op zak!

Het enige dat nu nog ontbrak was de auto van zijn dromen. Hierbij heeft hij gekozen voor het Duitse merk BMW en in het bijzonder een grijskleurige BMW uit de zes serie. De prijs van dit juweeltje? Een schamele 90.000 euro. Tsja, dat is nou eenmaal de prijs die de zanger ervoor moet betalen om zijn haar er goed uit te laten zien...
