Luckely I found an official disassembly procedure from Asus. This is why I didn't make pictures of this step.

Starting from a notebook has great benefits. All the components in it are very small, which is ideal for making a tablet. Also if you're starting from a notebook with a lot of features, you can end up with a tablet with a lot of features!

Features of the used Asus A6JC-Q0888H (features that I'm going to use are marked with [x])

    Basics:
    [x] WXGA 1200x800 glossy screen 15.4"
    [x] Speakers
    [x] Intel Core Duo T2300

    [x] 4 in 1 card reader (SD/MMC/MS/ MS PRO)
    [x] IEEE 1394 port
    [x] Headphone-out jack
    [x] Line-in Jack
    [x] TV Out (S-video)

We all get the feeling now and then, lying in the sofa, wanting to watch a movie on the computer or listening to some music but don't wanna get up. Out of this laziness the idea of making my own tablet pc was born. For the people thinking, what the heck is a tablet pc? Just think about the Ipad from Apple, but than with an microsoft based (windows) or Android control system. Now you might think, what has a tablet pc got to do with watching a movie or listening to music? Well, with the aid of a tablet pc you can make a connection to your PC linked to your TV or surround system and play a movie or listening some music on it, just from your lazy sofa.

I made this blog just to point out that a tablet pc doesn't has to be as expensive as they are in stores. I wanted to give everybody, who is as lazy as me, the opportunity to make his own tablet pc.

My build will start from an Asus A6JC-Q0888H 15.4" notebook that I just have replaced with my new Samsung notebook.
