SmackDown results: Bryan becomes the man of ‘Steel’ By: Michael Burdick November 25, 2011 Tags: SmackDown: November 25, 2011
WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – Less than two hours after unsuccessfully cashing in Money in the Bank due to a technicality, Daniel Bryan propelled himself into a World Heavyweight Championship Match against Mark Henry this Tuesday on a special LIVE holiday edition of SmackDown on Syfy at 8./7 CT - hosted by Mick Foley.
Daniel Bryan triumphed in a Fatal 4-Way World Heavyweight Title No. 1 Contender’s Match (WATCH | PHOTOS) In a whirlwind Fatal 4-Way Match, Daniel Bryan, Randy Orton, Wade Barrett and Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes faced off to decide who would challenge an injured Mark Henry for the World Heavyweight Championship this Tuesday.
Just when Orton looked ready to close the door on Bryan in the conclusion of the explosive showdown, Barrett pulled The Viper out of the ring and extinguished his offensive with a DDT. Rhodes seized the opportunity, attempting to pin the fallen Bryan. However, out of nowhere, Mr. Money in the Bank turned the tide, locking in the LeBell Lock to make the Intercontinental Champion tap out.
After the bell, an infuriated Rhodes attacked the triumphant Superstar. But, Randy Orton quickly put a stop to his offensive, hitting the aggressor with the RKO and allowing Bryan to savor his moment.
As a result of his mega-victory, Bryan earned himself a World Heavyweight Title Steel Cage Match against Mark Henry on a LIVE holiday edition of SmackDown, this Tuesday at 8/7 CT on Syfy. Ted DiBiase def. Heath Slater (WATCH | PHOTOS) As Ted DiBiase and Heath Slater were set to lock horns, Jinder Mahal appeared on the TitianTron – admonishing the leader of the "DiBiase Posse" in both Punjabi and English for “forsaking his family, wealth, and upbringing” to hang out in parking lots with a bunch of mere commoners.”
Slater took advantage of the distraction, attacking his opponent from behind. This set the ground work for an intense battle between the two determined Superstars. Despite a hard-fought match by The One Man Southern Rock Band, DiBiase ultimately reigned supreme with Dream Street.
Sheamus & Zack Ryder def. United States Champion Dolph Ziggler & Jack Swagger (WATCH | PHOTOS) Dolph Ziggler did not come to SmackDown at a loss for words, as both Vickie Guerrero and the bleach blond champion openly bragged about his two victories at Survivor Series five days ago.
Still, all the talk in the world couldn’t stop the United States Champion from getting pinned by Zack Ryder for the third time in a month, this time in tag team action. The Long Island Iced Z executed the Rough Ryder leg lariat on Ziggler for the victory – just seconds after Sheamus avoided the Zig Zag with a display of incredible power.
Divas Champion Beth Phoenix & Natalya def. AJ & Kaitlyn (WATCH | PHOTOS) One week ago, Kaitlyn was noticeably upset when her partner AJ tapped out to Natalya’s Sharpshooter to end their match against the "pin-up strong" duo. This week, Michael Cole reported that the blonde Diva’s frustration came from the large amount of attention her partner was paying to Daniel Bryan, rather than focusing on their matches.
In their tag team rematch – with Alicia Fox sitting in with the SmackDown announce team – Natalya again scored a victory over AJ with the Sharpshooter. However, after the bell, Kaitlyn decided to walk out on her best friend, leaving Natalya free to put AJ in another submission hold – trying to make the “spunky” Diva cry. Without A-Fox intervening, AJ might have been locked in the painful maneuver indefinitely.
Hunico def. Justin Gabriel (WATCH | PHOTOS) Knocking Justin Gabriel off the top rope, an extremely brutal Hunico flipped down onto his high-flying opponent to claim a huge win.
Daniel Bryan unsuccessfully cashed in Money in the Bank (WATCH | PHOTOS) World Heavyweight Champion Mark Henry hobbled to the ring, the direct result of an injury suffered at the hands of Big Show five days earlier at Survivor Series. (PHOTOS)
The World’s Strongest Champion denied that he got himself intentionally disqualified at the Silver Anniversary of WWE’s second longest running pay-per-view, saying his adversary made that up to make him look like the bad guy. When Big Show emerged, Henry declared that there wouldn’t be a title rematch. Instead, he called the giant “The World’s Largest Loser,” inspiring the massive Superstar to knock him out with the WMD. Moments later, Daniel Bryan stunned the WWE Universe by emerging to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase and pin the out-cold Henry for what appeared to be the biggest victory of his career! However, his hopes and dreams were quickly crushed, when SmackDown GM Theodore Long informed him that because The World Strongest Man was injured and not “medically cleared” to compete, the pin was invalid.
Returning the Money in the Bank briefcase to Bryan, Long proclaimed that he would compete in a Fatal 4-Way main event to decide who will face Henry for the World Title during a LIVE episode of SmackDown this Tuesday at 8/7.
Speaking to SLAM! Wrestling, Gail Kim explains why she disobeyed WWE by controversially eliminating herself from the Divas Battle Royal on the August 1 episode of Monday Night Raw. She says it was the culmination of all the disrespect she felt from WWE.
"I don't regret what I did at all. It was a respect thing," Kim says. "I was told to get eliminated as soon as possible, so that's what I did. I saw my decision as a case of either continuing to take their lack of respect or doing something about it.
"Nobody knows what I went through in terms of disrespect during my time there, but that move wasn't just about me it was a culmination of all the disrespect I felt that all the other women and the women's division as a whole had received too, I was taking a stand.
"While a lot of fans watching Raw noticed what I did, nobody from WWE noticed, that just shows how much they didn't care. I went up to Johnny [John Laurinaitis] after and spoke about the Battle Royal and his reaction towards the match was, 'Yeah, I heard it was pretty shit.' I was amazed and I then told him how I eliminated myself and he just laughed.
"How can fans take the division seriously if the people working for the company aren't? If it had been one of the men who had eliminated themselves they would have been punished, but because it was the women nobody cared, not even after I had told them."
A few days later Kim announced on Twitter that she had quit WWE, however, she was not permitted to bolt. What followed was a standoff between WWE and their former Women's Champion, which saw her forced to sit out the remainder of her contract.
"WWE are notoriously known for being controlling when it comes to your career, that night of the Battle Royal I went to Johnny and told him I quit, I said I don't want your money; I just want to be free. He told me that it shouldn't be a problem, but of course it was," Kim says.
"They didn't want me to work elsewhere, at this time I told him, 'What does it matter if I leave or not? You're not using me, it's not like I'm valuable to you just let me go,' but there was no budging."
After sitting at home for over two months waiting out the remainder of her contract, Kim finally made her much anticipated return to TNA Wrestling on the October 20 episode of Impact Wrestling, when she aligning herself with Madison Rayne and Karen Jarrett. Being a TNA Knockout means everything to her.
"I'm just so excited to be back in the company, I can't speak for anybody in particular but the feeling I got when I came back was that there were no hard feelings about my previous decision to leave. Being back here feels like time has never passed.
"I think everyone kind of expected me to return. I said in my last interview when I was leaving that I would probably be back, everyone has been real welcoming, it's like being a part of a family here at TNA. It's great to see the growth that this company has made since I've been gone, it's nice to see the direction its going and where they want to be heading."
She adds, "I'm just so happy to be here and to now be a part of a company once again that actually cares about wrestling."

Update on Undertaker's status for Wrestlemania Posted by Roscoe De Soto on 11/23/2011 at 08:53 PM
The Undertaker has had another hip and shoulder operation since he’s been away from the ring. Last year around this time there was doubt in Taker’s health for WrestleMania but the latest word is that he’s recovered well and is ready for Miami. We don’t know yet who Taker’s opponent is for WrestleMania 28 but word is that it has already been decided on. WWE officials have reportedly decided on the top three WrestleMania matches, including John Cena vs. The Rock, and Taker’s match will be the #2 top match on the card.
The new TNA brand that will be taped in India and broadcast there over the Colors Network will have its first set of tapings in mid-December. I am told that some talents have started to be quietly signed for the project but haven't confirmed any names yet.
This is the new project we wrote about a few weeks back being headed by Jeff Jarrett that Dutch Mantel, Dave Lagana and Rudy Charles will be working on. The TNA letters will not be used for the project.
TNA Wrestler Jesse Neal Spoke with the Wrestling Marks of Excellence Radio show about his status with TNA.
Neal said he is still under contract with TNA and he is currently scheduled for the upcoming set of tapings at the impact zone in Orlando. He did admit that he was offered training in OVW but the two sides so far have not agreed to compensation for working there.
John Morrison is finishing up with WWE and his final date will be next Monday’s RAW Supershow.
Word going around is that TNA is very interested in bringing in Morrison and Melina as a couple. TNA is looking at making Morrison the star attraction of the X Division. There are early plans to have him feud with Austin Aries. No word yet if Morrison has spoke with TNA, directly or in-directly.
It’s said that Morrison wants out of WWE and the company wants him gone also.
If Morrison goes to TNA, he would have to use a different ring name as WWE owns the rights to the "John Morrison" name/gimmick.
-- During Monday's Raw SuperShow, WWE displayed a graphic pointing to a YouTube page. The page features a cryptic video teasing the return of a familiar wrestler on January 2, 2012—the first Raw of next year. WWE's latest cryptic tease inevitably led to speculation that absent talent Chris Jericho could be returning to the organization. Jericho, however, has already dismissed the possibility.
When asked by a Twitter user what he's doing on January 2, 2012, he responded, "Working in Hawaii."
Wrestling Observer editor Dave Meltzer reported over the weekend that contract negotiations between both parties recently fell through and that a possible return is now considered a "dead issue."
- WWE Diva Layla will be returning to the ring from injury soon. She did a chat on WWE's website last night before RAW and was recently featured in a poll asking who should face Beth Phoenix for the Divas Title next. Layla won the poll with 55% of votes.
IT BEGINS: Transcript Of WWE's Crytic Promo Posted by Dave Mitchell on 11/21/2011 at 10:24 PM
On Monday’s RAW, when WWE was showing one of the Twitter on-screen graphics, the image got fuzzy and briefly showed a URL to a Youtube channel – “It Begins 2012.”
The URL revealed a cryptic video of a young student talking about something big occurring on Monday, January 2nd, 2012 – when RAW is live from Memphis, TN.
The boy who was narrating the video said:
"Come my people and shut thy doors about thee. For a power should come to punish the meek for their inequity. For on the second day of 2012, a familiar force shall arrive to claim what is his. And it will be the end of the world as you know it."

WWE Raw SuperShow results: The "Awesome Truth" unfolds By: Ryan Murphy November 21, 2011 Tags: WWE Raw SuperShow: November 21, 2011
HERSHEY, Pa. — With the “Rock Bottom Heard ‘Round the World” still resounding throughout the WWE Universe, John Cena attempted to set the issue straight. Instead, the Cenation leader created an entirely different issue between the members of The “Awesome Truth.”
John Cena embarrassed The “Awesome Truth”; The Miz laid R-Truth out (WATCH | PHOTOS) In the middle of addressing The Rock’s attack on him, John Cena was interrupted, as usual, by The “Awesome Truth.” Looking to rile up the Cenation leader, The Awesome One and his dangerous crony got more than they bargained for when Cena turned the tables and convinced both Superstars that they shouldn’t trust one another.
The Cenation’s leader’s seeds of doubt quickly grew into a serious issue between the partners in crime, leading to pushing and shoving in the ring. As politically savvy as ever, The Miz managed to calm his partner down, but as soon as R-Truth turned his back, his former friend nailed him with a blistering Skull-Crushing Finale on the steel entrance ramp.
Wade Barrett def. Kofi Kingston (WATCH | PHOTOS) The man who led Team Barrett to victory at Survivor Series continued his so-called “Barrage” on WWE Raw SuperShow as he barreled through Kofi Kingston, but the British Superstar’s bout was shaken by a surprise appearance from Randy Orton. Momentarily taking Barrett off his game, The Viper kept a keen eye on the action from ringside as his rival scored the win. The arrogant brawler taunted Orton after the bout, but the former WWE Champion did not strike. Like a true predator, he’s waiting for the perfect opportunity.
Big Show discussed his destruction of World Heavyweight Champion Mark Henry (WATCH | PHOTOS) Using all 480 pounds of his 7-foot frame to decimate Mark Henry’s ankle during Sunday’s World Heavyweight Championship Match, Big Show personally inducted The World’s Strongest Man into the Hall of Pain at Survivor Series. The World’s Largest Athlete admitted it felt good to hurt his rival, but he won’t be happy until he’s wearing the World Heavyweight Title around his massive waist.
WWE Champion CM Punk def. United States Champion Dolph Ziggler in a Title-free Match (WATCH | PHOTOS) Their championships may not have been at stake in this match, but both new WWE Champion CM Punk and United States Champion Dolph Ziggler certainly fought like they were. Convinced that he was, in fact, the new face of WWE, the United States Title holder looked to knock Punk off his perch early, but The Straight Edge Superstar wasn’t going down that easy. Catching the bleached blond off guard, the WWE Champion scored with a devastating GTS to secure a thrilling victory.
Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes def. Santino Marella (WATCH | PHOTOS) Describing himself as unmasked, unbeatable and completely unrepentant, Cody Rhodes made an example of Santino Marella, but the real story occurred after the match. Before leaving ringside, the Intercontinental Champion unexpectedly threw a glass of water in the face of commentator Booker T. Afterward, Book revealed that he tried to convince Rhodes that his problems were in his head earlier in the night — an unwelcome bit of advice that clearly didn’t sit well with the disturbed Superstar.
Kevin Nash taunted Triple H (WATCH | PHOTOS) With Triple H still recuperating from Kevin Nash’s vicious sledgehammer attack, the big man took another opportunity to taunt his former friend on live television. Taking cruel pleasure in his words, Nash bragged about returning to Madison Square Garden — the sight of “The Kliq’s” infamous 1996 WWE farewell — while The Game was incapacitated at home. Nash then reiterated that his animosity towards The Cerebral Assassin comes down to one thing — friendship. In Big Daddy Cool’s view, WWE’s COO ended The Kliq when he didn’t sign him to a contract, so Nash ended The King of Kings by breaking his neck with a sledgehammer.
Sheamus def. Jack Swagger (WATCH | PHOTOS) Jack Swagger was so furious after being manhandled by Sheamus during Sunday’s Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Tag Team Match that he demanded a bout with The Celtic Warrior tonight. Big mistake. Attacking his opponent with the same fire that got him disqualified at Survivor Series, The Great White planted The All-American American with a Brogue Kick.
Alberto Del Rio def. Zack Ryder (WATCH | PHOTOS) Less than 24 hours after dropping the WWE Title to CM Punk, Alberto Del Rio was out to prove that he was still the man to beat in WWE, but he was facing one of the fastest rising Superstars in WWE. Still pumping his fist from the ovation he received in the Garden, Zack Ryder had the WWE fans in Hershey behind him tonight, but it wasn’t enough to stop the underhanded skills of The Mexican Aristocrat.
WWE Champion CM Punk mouthed off to John Laurinaitis (WATCH | PHOTOS) Still reeling after winning the WWE Title in Madison Square Garden at Survivor Series, WWE Champion CM Punk promised the WWE faithful in Hershey, Pennsylvania that he would make things interesting on WWE Raw SuperShow again. His first goal? To put Interim Raw General Manager John Laurinaitis on the unemployment line.
The WWE Universe may have liked the sound of that, but Mr. Laurinaitis was quick to squash their applause. Entering to tell the new WWE Champion that he believes they can work together, the Executive Vice President of Talent Relations promised that he was more radical than one might expect and then proved his unpredictability by scheduling Punk in two bouts — a rematch against Alberto Del Rio next Monday and a showdown with United States Champion Dolph Ziggler tonight.
The Rock Cuts Long Promo After Survivor Series PPV Posted by Steve Carrier on 11/21/2011 at 11:07 AM
- Not only did The Rock score the pin in his tag bout against The "Awesome Truth" at Survivor Series but he nailed his WrestleMania opponent, John Cena, with a Rock Bottom after the match. He then spoke to the Madison Square Garden audience following the pay-per-view broadcast.
He started off his speech by saying "Can The Rock get some water? Jesus Christ!" The Rock told a ringside attendant "You better give The Rock some water, or I'll kick your monkey ass."
A loud chant then broke out with half the crowd chanting "You still got it!" while the other half chanted "Welcome back!" The Rock told the audience "to make up their damn minds." He then addressed one-half of the crowd by saying "As far as you still got it, shit, I always had it!"
A "We want Ryder" chant then broke out. The Rock said "Yeah, I love him. I can't believe how tall that son of a bitch is!"
A fan in the crowd yelled "Are you gonna cry?!" and The Rock responded, "Hell no! I'll put boots to asses before I cry! There must be some good weed in NYC for people to ask if The Rock is gonna cry!"
The Rock continued speaking by saying that he came to entertain the fans tonight. He thanks them all and says tonight was the greatest night in the history of his WWE career. He says tonight is only the beginning and "the money isn't that bad either."
The Rock thanks the fans once more and says goodnight. He spent a lot of time shaking hands around ringside, including the announcers and attendants.
The official Twitter feed of the WWE Insider stated this evening that Sin Cara suffered a ruptured patellar tendon and will be sidelined for six to nine months, following surgery.
The masked grappler suffered the injury while performing a dive outside the ring during the Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Tag Team Match. He was left unable to compete and therefore eliminated.
Evan Bourne's suspension for his first violation of WWE's Talent Wellness Program has generated a great deal of controversy amongst talent as some feel a double standard is in place.
Bourne, who's real name is Matthew Korklan, was suspended for thirty days on November 1, 2011 after testing positive for Spice, a synthetic marijuana brand. Bourne and another wrestler higher up the card smoked the marijuana substitute drug at a party, yet he was the only one of the two to be suspended. The other wrestler was told he had failed for marijuana, which results in a $2,500 fine, as opposed to a thirty-day suspension for synthetic marijuana.
According to a source, the wrestler in question is a participant in tonight's Survivor Series match featuring John Cena and The Rock against R-Truth and The Miz.
This has led to questions about whether WWE's drug testing procedure is flawed or whether talent are treated differently depending on their status in the organization.
This would not be the first time in which WWE reprieved a top-level talent who had violated their Talent Wellness Program. On August 30, 2007, Sports Illustrated named Randy Orton as one of fourteen contracted and former WWE performers to have purchased pharmaceuticals from an online pharmacy (Signature Pharamacy), a violation of the Talent Wellness Program. Specifically, Orton received somatropin, nandrolone, stanozolol between September 2004 and February 2007, which occurred after the "no drugs from online sources" rule was instituted. However, Orton was the lone contracted performer not to be suspended by WWE. WWE did not suspend Orton because he had already been suspended for a drug policy violation in August 2006, resulting in double jeopardy. The ruling, however, appeared nonsensical since Orton continued to receive pharmaceuticals following the suspension. WWE attorney Jerry McDevitt claimed last year in a letter to Irv Muchnick that "no action was taken against Randy Orton because he was not on any customer list for Signature Pharmacy ever provided to us by District Attorney Soares."

The latest on Matt Hardy following arrest Posted by Marc Middleton on 11/20/2011 at 12:53 PM
Reby Sky stated on her Formspring account that she is able to bail partner Matt Hardy out of jail following his arrest Friday night for violating a court order, but chooses not to at this time.
Sky was asked Saturday if she would be bailing Hardy out that day and responded, "Let him sit there. And think. Hard."
She wrote Saturday night regarding his whereabouts, "I'm reading a lot of ridiculous things on the 'dirtsheets' tonight, so to clear things up: I could have bailed him out & did not. He's still in jail. Have fun with that."
She added, "He's understandably upset but not angry - He knows he has no right to be at this point."
Hardy announced on September 19, 2011 that he was checking himself into a WWE-sponsored rehabilitation center for the next three months. It was later reported that entering rehab was one of the conditions for Hardy's release from custody following his third arrest within a month. On Friday, Hardy was kicked out of a court-ordered rehab for failing a breathalyzer test. He was arrested for violating the court order when he returned to Moore County in North Carolina, and was booked into the Moore County Detention Center on a million dollar bond.
