    TNA IMPACT REPORT
    MARCH 19, 2009
    TAPED IN ORLANDO, FLA.
    AIRED ON SPIKE TV

    [Q1]

-The show opened with highlights from the Destination X PPV. It's the PPV that fell in a forrest and nobody except those getting paid watched. The name of the show is: "Sting... whose side is he on?"

-The TNA Impact opening aired. Mike Tenay introduced the show and asked if Kurt Angle could coexist with Sting. He could have said that at the start of every episode this year.

-The Main Event Mafia walked out to their music. Angle was flanked by his two security guards. Scott Steiner covered his face with a mask to hide whatever it is Samoa Joe did to him. Kevin Nash, Booker T, Sharmell, and Sting also entered the ring. Angle said everything he predicted would come true. He predicted that Sting would show his true colors. "There you stood, Sting, in the middle of the ring, Mick Foley raising your hand just seconds after Jeff Jarrett screwed me." He said it was without a doubt the biggest screwjob since Montreal. He said Sting tried to cover it up by having Mick Foley hit him with a chair, but he's smarter than that. "You can't work a worker!" he said. "Because I am the best worker there ever was." He gave him "exactly ten seconds" to explain himself before the Mafia has to do what the Mafia has to do. He began to count. Sting yanked the mic out of his hand after a few seconds.

Sting told Angle he's accused him of being disloyal for the last time. He said he's been true to the Main Event Mafia since day one. He said his only problem is with him. He said he owes him nothing. He repeated himself at the top of his lungs because it's not TNA Impact officially until someone yells at the top of their lungs. Sting said, "I'm all in."

Nash stepped up and said, "Now, Sting, I do agree with one thing." He turned to Angle and said, "You owe Kurt nothing." The crowd chanted, "Nothing! Nothing!" That may be a first. He said Sting does owe the Mafia something. He said the three of them, other than Angle, have been with him. He said they've known each other a long time, but two PPVs in a row Foley has raised his hand. He said he suspects something is up, so he has something to prove to them.

Sting took the mic back and said, "Kevin, this is you and me. Nash and Sting." They did the WolfPac hand touch. He asked what he wants him to do to prove himself, and he asked him who he is to question him. Angle stepped in and said, "I'll tell you what I want you to do. I want you to be my partner tonight." He said their opponents are Jeff Jarrett and Mick Foley. Jarrett's music then played.

Jarrett (who's the TNA Founder, by the way) strode to the ring with a purpose. He said he told Angle once and he's not going to tell him again... and then he immediately went on to tell him again: "You don't have the authority to tell anybody to do anything." He said he's a wrestler on the TNA roster and maybe the greatest wrester he's ever seen, but he's still a wrestler. He said only TNA management can make matches.

Angle said, "What you mean is you and Mick, right Jeff?" Angle said Jarrett won't book that match because he wants to protect Sting. Angle looked a Sting and said at the top of his lungs he doesn't have one ounce of integrity in his body. He said, "If I'm going to screw you, I'm going to screw you to your face. What kind of example are you trying to set, Sting?" He said he's nothing more than a liar.

Sting yanked the mic back and said he'd love to have the opportunity to be in the ring with him again, and Jarrett and Foley. Sting said Foley is on the inactive and he's wrestled his last match. "Can't be done!" he yelled. Foley's music then played.

Foley strode to the ring 13 minutes into the show at this point. Foley told Angle, "You kicked me in the nuts, and I hit you with a chair. And for that, I'm sorry. With all due respect, Sting, since when did you start calling the shots around here? Who made you The Decider? Do you make decisions regarding my future? I don't recall saying I had my last match here in TNA." No, but he did retire once and swear he wasn't going to be one of those people who comes out of retirement over and over. Sting asked what he was trying to say. Foley said deep down he's not a guest enforcer or a business. "Deep down in here, I am a wrestler and every once in a while wrestlers wrestle," he said with a tooth-gapped smile. He said, "As far as tonight goes, I'm all in."

    [Q2]

Jarrett said: "Mick, Mick, Mick, Mick, Mick, Mick, Mick, Mick, ho-ho-ho-ho-hold on, hold on, hold on, Mick, this is not the reason you came to TNA. This is not what you want." Angle asked if this was not what Foley wants or not what Jarrett wants. Jarrett said there is a locker room full of wrestlers who'd love to kick his ass tonight. Angle said he doesn't want them, he's wants him. Jarrett said, "Kurt, you want me, you got me. One way or another, this thing ends tonight." Yeah, right. Tenay hyped the apparent tag team main event.

    [Commercial Break]

-Don West joined Tenay in hyping the main event. It goes without say it's ludicrous to give that tag match away on TV with 90 minutes notice. It's insanely inefficient and goes against any historical indication of how to maximize ratings impact for a big TV match. Foley coming out of retirement alone should be treated as a big deal, hyped for weeks. Same with Sting and Angle teaming up after being opponents recently including an empty arena match where Angle vowed to kill Sting and end his career before spitting on him. It's this short-attention span instant-gratification-addiction that Jarrett and Russo developed during the rush of the Monday Night War era to try to top the latest record rating with an even bigger one, at the expense of the long-term ability to build their audience three weeks from now. They should have been planning and hyping a main event for this show three weeks ago and started hyping this tag match (assuming they presented it on TV at all, which they shouldn't) to take place in two or three weeks.

1 -- MOTOR CITY MACHINE GUNNS (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin) vs. NO LIMIT (Yujiro & Nito)

The Gunns beat Nito to win the light-weight version of the IWGP Tag Team Titles, and this is a non-title rematch. Tenay said the main event tag match later is like an all-star game. Tenay hyped that Foley has never wrestled on Impact and it'll be Jarrett's first match on Impact in over two years. I rest my case.

    WINNERS: No Limit in 4:00.

STAR RATING: * -- A bunch of cool spots and high-paced action. It's one of those matches where four wrestlers are told specifically to go out there and burn the house down in four minutes and they do as they're told, then they're criticized in the aggregate for being all about highspots and not telling a proper story in the ring.

    [Q3]

-After the match, Beer Money attacked No Limit. They called out Team 3D. Team 3D came out right on cue as their music played. They brought the heavyweight version of the IWGP Tag Team Titles with them. Robert Roode said he and James respect them and everything they've done in their careers and for tag team wrestling. "In our eyes, you guy are the best that's ever been." Ray and Devon nodded in agreement. Roode said they've proven themselves night in and night out, yet to this day they get disrespected. He said people consider them a joke and a flash in the pan. Who says that? The crowd chanted, "You suck!" Roode said they want to put their titles on the line against Team 3D at Lockdown in the six-sides of steel in a city near and dear to their hearts - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He said when they beat Team 3D and retain the titles in their own back yards, then they'll get the respect they deserve.

Ray said they're not blowing smoke, they're telling the truth - they've done it all and everybody knows it. He said in Philadelphia at Lockdown he wants to do it the right way. He offered to put their IWGP Tag Titles at stake, too. Ray said Philadelphia is their back yard and where they became one of the most legendary tag teams in the world. He said it's home to the violent tag team that's ever existed. And in Philadelphia, he said they'll become the 22-time World Tag Team Champions. Devon yelled: "On my brother, testify!"

    [Commercial Break]

-Jeremy Borash interviewed Foley in the back office. He said he's one-fourth of the biggest main event in TNA history. Borash said first he has hot news. He said it's about one of the most notorious celebrities in television today wanting to be a major part of the Lockdown PPV. To find out, you have to sign up for TNA's text messaging service.

Jarrett barged in and yelled at Foley. As Foley began to answer, he cut him off and said, "I didn't bring you in here to do this. You backed me into a corner and made me accept the match." Foley joked, "Borash, do that thing with the eyes. I love when he does that!" Foley said he loves pumpkin pie, too. He said he could probably go a full month of October without eating pumpkin pie unless you put right in front of him. He said the same thing about roller coasters. He said he didn't get in TNA to be handed bottles of water or be a ringside enforcer. He said he stayed out of wrestling for so long and it wasn't tough because he wasn't so close to it. He said now he's so close, he just wants a little piece of that pie or one trip on that roller coaster, then he'll go back on the roller coaster. He said they did it because it made them happy. He said he wanted to do it for the right reason. He said Sting is the current TNA Champion, and the rest of them are former champions. He said this could be the greatest Impact in history, and that's good business, and good business makes everyone happy. He said, "Let's have some fun!" Jarrett took it in and walked away.

-They went to West and Tenay at ringside, who discussed the Foley-Jarrett situation.

    [Commercial Break]

    [Q4]

-A highlight package aired of the ODB segment on Destination X. They showed the winner of the date with ODB cheering in the crowd.

2 -- AWESOME KONG & RAISHA SAEED vs. ODB & TAYLOR WILDE

Tenay said he can't get his mind off of the Impact main event tag match. He asked West if it seemed to him that Sting was being a spokesperson for Foley. West said Sting is going to have to put up or shut up tonight. No signs of tension between Tenay and West this week. I'm not usually in favor of abandoning a storyline mid-stream, but if they pretend that tension never occurred, I'm fine with it. Just pretend they talked it out behind the scenes. Taylor hot-tagged in at 2:00 against Kong and hit two dropkicks. Kong didn't go down. Kong did go down after a top rope dropkick. Saeed interfered with the save, but Taylor went after her. They fought at ringside. Kong pressed Taylor, but Taylor slipped out and cradled Kong for the win.

WINNERS: Wilde & ODB in 3:00.

    STAR RATING: 3/4*

-Afterward, Kong attacked Taylor, then gave ODB an Implant Buster. ODB's date, Cody Deiter, jumped into the ring and put up his dukes. Kong backed out of the ring. West said Kong was smart to walk away because if she didn't, there could be legal issues.

-West hyped the main event tag match. They showed Samoa Joe backstage walking.

    [Commercial Break]

-Borash interviewed Angle backstage. He said they've been friends a long time. He said he likes to hang out and observe what's going on. He said he had an epiphany. He talked about what happened at the PPV between he and Foley and Jarrett. He said he had to kick nuts and spit in faces and use chairs because he was attacked by all sides. He said later they'll find out what side Sting really is on and he'll be sure Sting knows who he is dealing with because he is the Godfather of the Main Event Mafia.

3 -- SHEIK ABDUL BASHIR vs. SAMOA JOE

Joe went after Bashir immediately and aggressively. The ref scolded Joe. Joe punched the ref and then threw Bashir into the announce table. He then put him in a cobra clutch and dragged him to the back.

    WINNER: No contest.

    [Q5]

    [Commercial Break]

-Lauren interviewed Velvet Sky, Madison Rayne, and Angelina Love. Lauren asked where Cute Kip is. Sky said he's been put on special assignment to prove he's not above them. She got upset and said he's not to be spoken of again. Love said Madison is going to be tested by the Beautiful People because you don't just walk in one day and become one of the Beautiful People. She said it took years and years of hard work and dedication to being the most beautiful creates to ever grace God's Green Earth. She said they are so hot, God can't even touch them. She asked Madison if she understood, then wouldn't let her talk. Sky said they're interested not just in winning, but leaving the mark of the BP "on that grotesque governor." She said tonight the initiation and hazing begins. Love said, "This week, the Governor. Next week, the Beast." When Lauren asked if she was talking about Kong, Sky said, "Who said anything about Kong?"

-A highlight package aired of Booker T vs. A.J. Styles at Destination X.

-Mid-ring, Jim Cornette interviewed Styles. He congratulated him for winning Booker's belt. He said it began as a vanity title, but when Booker signed a contract without reading it carefully, by losing the match he signed away ownership of the belt he created. Good for them for addressing that finally. Too bad the announcers didn't first, since they should be the voice of the fan asking the obvious questions fans are thinking. Styles said with all that the Main Event Mavia has done to the TNA Originals, this is taking a piece of it back. He said the Legends belt now represented faith, hope, and respect. He said it represents TNA and as long as he's champion, he'll give any deserving competitor a shot at it because he's a fighting champion. He said he is the one and only and original A.J. Styles.

Booker and Sharmell walked out. West complained that Booker should have put that title at stake under his terms rather than tricking Booker into signing the documents. Tenay said that's a lame excuse. Booker got in Styles's face. He said he spent a lot of money on that belt. He began rambling incoherently at the end of each sentence. He said Styles may have the belt, but he doesn't have the title. He said he wants the first match against him. Styles told him to back off. "I have no idea what you just said," Styles retorted. "So let me make myself perfectly clear. I said a deserving wrestler." The crowd oohed and ahhed. He said Booker was a paper champion who made up the belt. He said he won't do anything because he's the champ now and he can't do anything about it. Sharmell got in Styles's face and said he stole the belt from him and he'll get it back on his terms at his time.

    [Q6]

    [Commercial Break]

4 -- MADISON RAYNE vs. THE GOVERNOR

West and Tenay began arguing. Shoot. Sky interfered to help give Rayne the advantage early. A minute later The Gov surprised Rayne with a leverage pin. West accused the ref of a fast count. Tenay said, "Aw, come on!"

    WINNER: The Governor in 3:00.

    STAR RATING: 3/4*

-Afterward, Sky and Love attacked The Gov. They pulled out a pair of scissors and handed them to Rayne. She had to cut her hair. She began snipping away.

-Tenay and West said the TV main event is a "once in a lifetime match." West wondered if Angle and Sting can work together, but said it's also debatable whether Foley and Jarrett will get along.

-They cut backstage to Joe who had Bashir hanging upside down backstage. He held his sword to him and said, "Nobody want you here, Bashir." He suggested he go back to where he came from and when he does, he should tell everybody if they get in the way of his Nation of Violence, the same thing will happen to them. Bashir shrieked, "Yes, yes, yes." He told him to hold his knife in his mouth. He placed it there as Bashir hyperventilated. Joe took the knife back and told him to take care of himself. Bashir said, "I'm sorry! I'm sorry." Joe then whipped him with a cane repeated as Bashir yelled in pain. Ugh.

    [Q7]

    [Commercial Break]

-A Rough Cut segment aired on Team 3D's Brother Devon. He talked about being a fan of wrestling as a kid. He said when he found out about Johnny Rodz's school, he was surprised at how much it cost, but he got a loan from his grandfather and the rest is history. He said he and Ray only lived about ten minutes from each other, but didn't know it. He said when Ray got in ECW, they wanted him to be his partner. He said they wanted him to have a Mike Tyson edge to him so he cut his hair. He said they get along great and balance each other out. He said he's a hardcore edge kind of guy, whereas he's the softer guy who makes their mistakes right. He said they survived so long because they're on the same page - wanting to be the greatest tag team in the history of the business. "The art of this business is dancing together. You don't dance together, you're through, and that's one thing we understand."

-West plugged upcoming TNA house show line-ups and the Lockdown PPV. He also said Foley will be at Fan Interaction on Apr. 18 before the PPV. Tenay threw to a video package on the history of Sting and Angle. Then they showed Jenna, the winner of "Survivor: Amazon," in the crowd applauding.

-Kurt Angle's ring entrance took place. Then Sting, Jeff Jarrett, and Mick Foley. Tenay said the Dream Match would take place after the break.

    [Commercial Break]

5 -- KURT ANGLE & STING vs. MICK FOLEY & JEFF JARRETT

Angle and Jarrett began the match. West said he can't believe this match is airing for free. Tenay said during the break Cornette informed him that next week on Impact there will be a 20 man six-sides-of-steel gauntlet to determine the two captains for Lethal Lockdown on Apr. 19 on PPV. Jarrett ducked an Angle clothesline and threw a dropkick. Jarrett twisted Angle's arm and played to the crowd. The crowd chanted for Foley and Jarrett tagged in Foley at 2:00. Foley moved in toward Angle, grabbed him, and outwrestled him to the mat. Angle crawled to the bottom rope. Foley yelled "Bang! Bang!" Tenay asked if anyone ever thought they'd see Foley out mat-wrestle Angle. Foley clotheslined Angle over the top rope to the floor. When he went after Angle on the floor, Angle's security members, Sal and Rocco, went after Foley. Foley banged their heads together. Angle hit Foley from behind with a chair, then Angle back suplex Foley onto the mats at ringside. Team 3D came out and beat up Sal and Rocco. West said Foley was out. Jarrett called for help.

    [Q8]

    [Commercial Break]

Angle beat on Foley in the ring, kicking at his leg. He whipped him toward the ropes, but Foley just collapsed. Sting asked for a tag. Angle teased it, but then pulled his hand away. Angle took Foley down with a hard clothesline. Sting told Angle to get the pin if he could and leave it there. Angle stomped Foley between his legs. Sting walked into the ring and got in Angle's face. "That's enough, Kurt," he said. West said there's no chance of them getting onto the same page. Angle knocked Sting off the ring apron. Jarrett got into the ring and gave Angle a Pedigree and enzuigiri. Tenay noted that Jarrett's not legal. Jarrett went for The Stroke, but Angle blocked it and went for an ankelock. Jarrett powered out and lunged at Angle, but Angle moved and Jarrett took down the ref. Angle ran to ringside and grabbed a chair. Jarrett kicked Angle in the gut to block the chairshot, then brought his guitar into the ring. Jarrett reared back, but Sting yanked it away. Foley stood up with a chair in hand. Angle bailed out of the ring. Foey then bashed Sting with the chair and made the cover. A second ref came out and counted the pin. West said that was no accident when Foley swung the chair and hit Sting. Tenay asked, "What have we just seen here?"

WINNERS: Foley & Jarrett in 11:00.

    [Commercial Break]

-They came back for the fallout. Sting said, "Mick, if you wanted back in the game, all you had to do is ask." He said whatever inspired him, he knows now he is inspired. He said two times a chair hit him in the back of his head from his hands. He said it was ironic that two weeks ago he said he made his career back in the day. He said now he's going to be responsible for ending his career. He challenged Foley one-on-one at Lockdown, "back to school for old time's sake. Lights, camera, action. It's Showtime, Mick!" Sting's music played as Angle backed up the ramp with a smile on his face.

-They went to the back with Borash interviewing Jarrett and Foley. Jarrett yelled that he doesn't know what the heck just happened. Borash asked Foley if he snapped. Foley acted punch-drunk and told Borash to do that thing with his eyes. He said he's proud of his actions. He said if he had to say what inspired him, it'd be Sting who inspired him. Foley threw the ice pack off of his head and threw a fit over Sting whispering to Angle that he had enough and Angle should just pin him. He complained that Sting declared himself The Decider. "What you call hell, I call home!" He said he was looking for happiness and he's found it. At Lockdown, he'll tear him apart. "Have a nice day," he said as the show ended.

New details on heat between the TNA Knockouts

New details on heat between the TNA Knockouts

There was a story going around saying TNA Knockouts Roxxi and Rhaka Khan were involved in a backstage altercation in which Khan gave Roxxi a black eye. However, the story has since been changed to Khan stiffing Roxxi in a match recently taped for Impact, so apparently that’s how Roxxi suffered the black eye, and not during the backstage argument the two women had.

According to several people in the organization, Rhaka Khan is not liked backstage and has a really bad attitude. She doesn’t want to train to improve in the ring and carries herself like she’s a huge star, which rubs a lot of people the wrong way. Since she’s dating Kurt Angle, however, no one says anything to her face, since Angle has a lot of political stroke in the company. Khan is in a secure spot since TNA isn’t going to release her due to her relationship with Angle.

Danny Bonaduce tegenstander voor Lockdown bekend?

    Danny Bonaduce's Lockdown opponent revealed?

It looks like Danny Bonaduce will be facing TNA’s Eric Young at the Lockdown pay-per-view next month. Here’s the scoop from Danny’s radio show website of an angle they filmed this morning:

7:46 – The Spike TV cameras are in studio and TNA wrestler Jerry Borash walks in the studio to introduce Danny’s opponent at TNA Lockdown, April 19th at the Liacouras Center. Danny will wrestle in a six-sided ring surrounded by steel! The buildup is excruciating. ‘Showtime’ Eric Young is Danny’s opponent! Eric is 5’11”, weighs in at 225 lbs. and at 29 has 12 years of professional wrestling experience. TNA Lockdown is at the Liacouras Center on April 19th. His finishing move is the Youngblood Neckbreaker. Sting is Eric’s hero in the ring. How does Eric feel about fighting Danny? It’s a letdown; it doesn’t do much for his career. Danny IS a professional wrestler, he was paid to be on Celebrity Championship Wrestling. Eric would rather be wrestling someone on the TNA roster. His biggest wins are title matches he’s won. The biggest loss? Going against Danny at Lockdown. A bigger letdown would be if 49 year-old Danny Bonaduce knocks him out. Eric doesn’t think that’s possible. Danny thinks Eric has an offensive tone.

7:58 – Eric is a company employee; he’s here because TNA is paying him to be here. Eric slams Danny calling him a D-List celebrity who gets by with his crazy act. Eric doesn’t want to talk anymore.

8:00 – Eric isn’t fond of Danny and thinks he doesn’t respect the sport of wrestling and didn’t pay his dues. Danny tells him to walk out. Eric slaps Danny. Another slap??? CHAOS BREAKS OUT!!!

8:02 – Eric is pushed out of the studio!

Breaking News: WWE Releases Tyson Tomko

Breaking News: WWE Releases Tyson Tomko

    (Source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter)

It has been confirmed that Travis "Tyson" Tomko, 32, was released from his contract with World Wrestling Entertainment a few weeks ago. Tomko re-signed with the company in November.

Tomko's first match back in the company was a dark match prior to the December 15, 2008 episode of Raw in a winning effort over Paul Burchill. However, he was greatly limited by a torn pec and Vince McMahon thought he looked terrible during his lone outing. The former TNA World Tag Team Champion looked noticeably soft during the match.

WWE's Senior Vice President of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis took a lot of heat over signing Tomko. There was a feeling he should have had a full medical exam before signing him to see if there was a major injury.

TNA nominated for two video game awards

TNA nominated for two video game awards

Earlier today, Midway Games' TNA Impact was nominated in two categories in the 4th annual M16 Awards in the "Thinking Outside the Box" category.

The first nomination was in regard to the Suicide character, one for his creation and cross promotion on the TNA Impact series via his integration as a full-fledged character (as portrayed by Frankie Kazarian and Christopher Daniels).

The second nomination was for integration of the video game's entrance footage into the Impact ring entrance videos on the series.

TNA and Midway issued the following comments today:

"With their first foray into the world of gaming, TNA has shown that they can successfully and seamlessly meld the virtual and real worlds and do so in a highly creative fashion."

The award winners will be announced 4/8.

Despite their recent bankruptcy filing, Midway Games is currently working on a second TNA video game.

Fans, we need your help. With the continued need for new talent and fresh story lines in wrestling today, we are on a quest to reunite Debra with Jeff Jarrett in TNA, but for some reason it is very hard to get management to call you back. KANE in de clinch met UFC ster Tim Sylvia

DETROIT, MI - Former UFC Heavyweight Champion, Tim Sylvia was involved in a fight at a bar in downtown Detroit Michigan with 7 foot, 320 pound WWE Superstar, Glen 'Kane' Jacobs.

No details are currently being released on how the fight started. A witness says the two were arguing and Tim Sylvia instigated the fight. Jacobs quickly took Sylvia to the ground and repeatedly punched him in the face. The bartender along with a bystander helped pull Jacobs off Sylvia. Sylvia was said to have suffered a broken nose and a black eye.

The police were notified but since the fight was not prolonged and neither men wanted to press any charges, no arrests were made. Sylvia was driven by a friend who was with him to the hospital to treat the broken nose. Glen Jacobs left the scene with his wife shortly after.

More details to be released as they come in

Vince Mcmahon alles behalve goed gezind na teleurstellende kijkcijfers

Last week’s edition of Friday Night SmackDown was the least watched episode of the year as it drew a lackluster 1.9 rating. When Vince McMahon found out about the show’s dismal rating, he “blew a gasket,” according to a company source. It’s going to be a rough week for those working alongside him as the rating for last night’s Raw declined for the third week in the row.

United States Champion Shelton Benjamin & Mark Henry def. Christian & MVP
    Evan Bourne def. Jamie Noble
    Finlay def. Paul Burchill

SAN ANTONIO – The WWE Universe was in luck Tuesday night, as the Unified WWE Tag Team Championship Match was announced for the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania. Meanwhile, Hornswoggle celebrated St. Patrick’s Day by wreaking havoc at the AT&T Center, and his father, Finlay, had more than Irish luck behind him on ECW on Sci Fi.

“The Dirt Sheet” on ECW (WATCH | PHOTOS)
World Tag Team Champions The Miz & John Morrison brought a live edition of “The Dirt Sheet” to ECW on Sci Fi, but were interrupted by WWE Tag Team Champions Carlito & Primo hoping to broadcast their own episode of “Carlito’s Cabana.” Miz & Morrison accepted Carlito & Primo’s challenge of a winners-take-all, new, Unified WWE Tag Team Championship Match at the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania. But their meeting quickly turned unpleasant when Carlito & Primo accidentally spit apples in the face of Brie Bella. When Nikki laughed at her twin’s expense, Brie shoved her sister and the Divas began to brawl. Nikki departed the ring with the World Tag Team Champions, while Brie stayed behind with the WWE Tag Team Champions. While the sisters are divided, which tag team will leave the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania the Unified Tag Champions? (Match Preview)

    Finlay def. Paul Burchill (PHOTOS)
It was a St. Patrick’s Day to remember for Finlay & Hornswoggle as the Fighting Irishman defeated Paul Burchill on ECW on Sci Fi. Burchill sought revenge for his sister, Katie Lea, who was involved in a corned beef and cabbage food fight with Hornswoggle earlier in the evening. But the overly-rambunctious Hornswoggle was merely celebrating St. Patrick’s Day, a celebration that was even sweeter after Finlay was a winner over Paul with a Celtic Cross.

ECW Champion Jack Swagger returns (WATCH | PHOTOS)
ECW Champion Jack Swagger returned to ECW on Sci Fi this week. While he wasn’t in action, he wanted to make an appearance in front of the WWE Universe.

“I know you missed me last week,” Swagger said. “And I’m not competing tonight, but as a service to all of you, and because I am so good-looking, I just wanted to give you the pleasure of laying your eyes upon the two-time, two-time All-American American, Jack Swagger … your ECW Champion.”

Evan Bourne def. Jamie Noble (WATCH | PHOTOS)
Evan Bourne – who suffered a torn deltoid ligament five months ago – made his triumphant return to the Land of the Extreme on Tuesday night. Despite harsh words from Jamie Noble, who said he might “crash ‘Air’ Bourne permanently,” the high-flying Superstar defeated Noble with a gravity-defying Shooting Star Press. The undefeated Tyson Kidd and his associate, Natalya, watched as Bourne soared to victory. But with the WWE Universe in Bourne’s corner, will any Superstar be able to stop the exciting Slammy Award-winner?

United States Champion Shelton Benjamin & Mark Henry def. Christian & MVP (PHOTOS)
Half of the Superstars competing in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match at the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania met in tag team action this week on ECW on Sci Fi. United States Champion Shelton Benjamin & Mark Henry faced Christian & Montel Vontavious Porter in ECW action, and The Gold Standard shined brightly on Tuesday night. After Christian slapped WWE Hall of Famer Tony Atlas off the ring apron, SmackDown’s Benjamin hit Pay Dirt on Captain Charisma for the tag team victory. Is this a sign of things to come at the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match on April 5? Also, Shelton Benjamin will defend his U.S. Title against MVP, the longest reigning U.S. Champion, this Friday on the historic 500th episode of SmackDown. Who will walk away with the U.S. Title?

    Onderhandelt Lashley met TNA

Bobby Lashley will compete in his second professional Mixed Martial Arts fight this Saturday night against Jason Guida at the "March Badness" MMA-boxing card in Pensacola, Florida.

The former WWE superstar recently spoke with AroundtheOcagon.com about a number of topics, including the possibility of returning to pro wrestling some day. Lashley said, "I'd definitely be open to going back to wrestling one day. WWE isn't the only organization. I've had talks with some organizations. I would be open to going back to wrestling not just WWE. I enjoy it."

Based on that, it appears Lashley would consider wrestling for TNA, where two of his close friends (Kurt Angle and Booker T) are top stars.

While Lashley says he misses pro wrestling, he admits that life on the road and the bumps can be difficult to manage. "It's hard on the mind and the body. You can't take away the enjoyment we had being in front of those crowds, being in front of those people around the world," Lashley said. "It was incredible. I do miss it." When asked whether he's disappointed in Ken Shamrock having to pull out of their fight after testing positive for steroids, Lashley said, "I'm super disappointed. ... I really wanted to fight Ken but things happen." Regarding his new opponent Jason Guida, he said, "He's a last minute replacement so I don't know a whole lot about him. I hadn't got to study him. I know his brother but I don't know much about him."

    Uitslagen Raw 16 maart
Klik op de afbeelding om de link te volgen

SAN ANTONIO – After the rocket-fueled roller coaster ride of last week, you would think that the Raw Superstars would be itching for some down time in the run-up to the clashes and chaos of the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania.

    Not even close.

Maybe it was the proximity of San Antonio to WrestleMania’s host city of Houston less than 200 miles away, but there was a definite whiff of foreboding in the dry Texas air.

World Heavyweight Champion Edge def. John Cena with Vickie Guerrero as special guest referee; Big Show enters to help punish Cena; Edge spears Big Show (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Shoot the messenger. That was the overriding theme as World Heavyweight Champion Edge, his wife Vickie Guerrero and Vickie’s lover Big Show were set to confront John Cena. A week earlier, Cena had revealed the affair between Vickie and Big Show, much to the chagrin of all three. As a result, Raw's interim General Manager arranged a match pitting her husband against Cena with herself serving as a special guest referee. With all that misdirected hostility focused on Cena, who could not touch Vickie lest he sacrifice his World Title Match at WrestleMania, a lopsided confrontation seemed inevitable.

As Edge and Cena battled, an angry Big Show lumbered down the ramp toward the ring. When he arrived, The Rater-R Superstar joined him in tying Cena up within the ring ropes. Fittingly, each drove their anger in his direction: Edge speared him, Vickie slapped him and Big Show drove his meaty fist into Cena’s ribs several times before clocking him in the jaw.
But that proved only to be the entrée. It was Edge who then speared his wife’s lover and thus delivered Big Show his just desserts.

CM Punk, Kofi Kingston & MVP def. Kane, Mark Henry (w/ Tony Atlas) & United States Champion Shelton Benjamin (PHOTOS | WATCH)
With the coveted black briefcase looming large above the ring, CM Punk, Kofi Kingston & MVP faced off against Kane, Mark Henry & United States Champion Shelton Benjamin in a preview of one of WrestleMania’s most daring matches, the Money in the Bank Ladder Match. The action got underway with the other two MITB Match participants, Christian and Finlay, commentating at ringside. As the chaos of six hungry competitors unfolded, last year’s Mr. Money in the Bank, CM Punk, raised his game and put Benjamin to rest with a Go To Sleep for the win.

Ric Flair, Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka, Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat and “Rowdy” Roddy Piper confront Chris Jericho (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Chris Jericho’s shameful behavior continues. This time, however, the WWE Legends, who he’s been so quick to denigrate, had heard enough. Ric Flair, Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka, Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat and “Rowdy” Roddy Piper surrounded the ring where Jericho was busy spewing his bile. While his fellow Legends corralled Jericho and chased him from the ring, Flair confronted him outside the ring with a fist and sent the disrespectful plague scampering up the entrance ramp.

Afterward, Jericho issued a challenge to Snuka, Steamboat & Piper to a match at WrestleMania with Flair in their corner. He also included The Wrestler actor Mickey Rourke, who he said he would buy a front row seat so he could watch.

Rey Mysterio def. Dolph Ziggler, issues challenge to JBL for an Intercontinental Championship Match at WrestleMania (PHOTOS)
Dolph Ziggler is big on introductions. It’s safe to assume, therefore, that he’d like a second chance at a first impression with Rey Mysterio. Ziggler proved little match for the high-flyer, who bested the eager, young Superstar. Rey, who has missed WrestleMania for the past two years due to injury, has already challenged his longtime rival JBL to an Intercontinental Championship Match at WrestleMania.

WWE Champion Triple H def. Cody Rhodes in an impromptu Steel Cage Match; taunts Randy Orton and Ted DiBiase (PHOTOS | WATCH)
In hindsight, Cody Rhodes probably should have known better. The second-generation Superstar faced off against arguably the most determined Superstar in all of WWE right now, Triple H. As Rhodes’ Legacy cohorts, Randy Orton and Ted DiBiase, looked on, The Game demolished his opponent and taunted Orton and DiBiase to join him in the ring. When Orton and DiBiase decided to take up the invitation, The Game grabbed his sledgehammer and backed the two down.

That’s when things got even more interesting. Triple H gave a signal as a steel cage was lowered around the ring. The WWE Champion then climbed inside and resumed his retribution of a hapless Rhodes. The remaining Legacy members attempted to scale the unforgiving structure, but Triple H fended them off and continued to send a punishing message to his WrestleMania opponent, Orton.

The mystery of who authorized the lowering of the cage was solved somewhat when, after the match when Triple H left the arena, he climbed into a Hummer with his wife Stephanie McMahon.

Women’s Champion Melina, Mickie James & Kelly Kelly def. Beth Phoenix, Layla & Jillian (PHOTOS)
With the first-ever Miss WrestleMania title at stake in Houston during the 25-Diva Battle Royal, it’s no wonder the Divas have been busy sharpening their skills lately, to say nothing of their claws. That preparation was evident during the Six-Diva Tag Team Match placing Women’s Champion Melina, Mickie James & Kelly Kelly against Beth Phoenix, Layla & Jillian. As The Glamazon displayed her impressive strength in the ring, her boyfriend, Santino Marella, attempted to intervene on her behalf. Unfortunately for him, Mickie put the kibosh on his underhanded scheme, which led to Phoenix being pinned. Somebody’s getting grounded!

Randy Orton not pressing charges against WWE Champion Triple H for last week’s home invasion; Triple H vs. Cody Rhodes tonight
Randy Orton insists that he is in complete control. That was his message to WWE Champion Triple H after revealing that he will not be pressing charges after last week’s home invasion, in which The Game wreaked havoc on Orton’s house and family, hurling his WrestleMania rival through a glass window. If Triple H were to go to jail for his actions, said Orton, he would not have to put the title on the line in Houston. Perhaps to send The Cerebral Assassin a message, Orton pitted his "Legacy" disciple Cody Rhodes against Triple H tonight.

World Heavyweight Champion Edge forgives Vickie; Edge vs. Cena tonight with Vickie as special guest referee
After the utter humiliation World Heavyweight Champion Edge suffered last week, he seemed in an unusually forgiving mood this week. When John Cena revealed that his wife Vickie was having an affair with Big Show, Edge appeared devastated and angry. Fast forward a week, however, and The Ultimate Opportunist is now telling Vickie that he excuses her indiscretions and that neither of his WrestleMania opponents, Cena or Show, will come between them. The couple also appeared amped about the rematch between Edge and Cena that Vickie set up for later in the night, in which she will act as special guest referee.

Shawn Michaels & Undertaker def. Intercontinental Champion JBL & Vladimir Kozlov (PHOTOS | WATCH)
There is nothing so tenuous as trust when pride intervenes. As the man who has posted a 16-0 record at WrestleMania paired up with the man dubbed “Mr. WrestleMania,” there were bound to be misgivings. Undertaker teamed with his WrestleMania opponent in a tag team match against new Intercontinental Champion JBL & Vladimir Kozlov. Tensions were laid bare once it appeared that Undertaker was about to secure the victory. Instead, his partner HBK tagged himself in and secured the win himself over JBL.

HBK’s one-upsmanship provoked The Deadman to raise a boot to Michaels’ head, but HBK ducked the black, leather brick. The two then locked eyes for a few anxious moments before Michaels exited up the entrance ramp. The Deadman followed, pausing at the top of the ramp to turn back to the crowd. That was HBK’s cue. He stepped onto the ramp and laid out Undertaker with Sweet Chin Music.

Steroids and painkillers found in Test's home

The following is an excerpt from an article posted by TampaBay.com:

TAMPA — Today would have been Andrew Martin's 34th birthday.

The professional wrestler known as "Test" or the "Punisher" planned to leave Monday to celebrate in France, Sweden and Belgium, according to his MySpace page.

But authorities found his body Friday night at about 8 o'clock. And officers have since disclosed that they discovered prescription drugs, including painkillers and steroids, in the Harbour Place apartment.

Candice Michelle has a message for "haters"

Candice Michelle has a message for "haters"
Posted by Randy Gordon on 03/17/2009 at 12:48 AM

Sidelined WWE Diva Candice Michelle has posted a new blog on the WWE Universe site and she has a lot to say.

She starts off by offering her condolences to the family and friends of former WWE Superstar Andrew "Test" Martin, who passed away this past Friday. Candice wrote: "First and foremost I wanna offer my condolences, prayers, and love to the family and friends of Andrew "Test" Martin! This isn't an easy thing to hear about someone in our community! I had alot of respect for him and am thankful for being blessed with knowing him!"

Candice then confirms reports of her ankle injury, which has kept her sidelined the past few weeks. Candice explains how she got the injury: "I also just wanted to catch up with y'all since its been awhile since Ive been on Raw and there has been many speculations on why? Unfortunately I have been injured again! No its not my collarbone or anything in association with that! My collarbone is 100% healed! I was training really hard actually twice a day and while doing a flying punch on a bag that was held by a donut like apparatus I landed on it, rolled my ankle and fell on it! I have 2 torn ligaments one a 3rd degree sprain and the other a 2nd degree. However I'm healing really well and faster than what doctors expected! My injury was just a mishap unlike what others have heard or said, just a misfortunate event! After what I've been through I am a pro at this, haha!"

Fortunately for Candice, she is off crutches as well as her walking cast.

Candice also responds to reports going around saying her contract with WWE is set to expire in October. She says it's completely false and that she has absolutely no desire to leave the company.

"Also, people have asked me if I'm leaving the wwe or that my contract is expiring in Oct. 2009, well this is so FALSE!!! First off my contract is not expiring this year and most importantly I have NO desire to leave WWE! I am still focused and gearing up for another return!"

Candice then has some choice words for the people who doubt her, say she's injury prone, and believe her career in WWE is over.

"I have asked myself and prayed alot on why I have taken a back seat with another injury?! What I do know is what it feels like to be on the mountain top, and i know what the valley is like all to well, but i have news for all the Haters who have all these crazy reasons on why they think they know me and why my career at WWE is over...I am not unpacking my bags down in this valley but climbing out of it, even with one foot!lol! I have had a taste of the top so I know that the fight is worth it! I can preach and say x,y and z. However, this time ill just show you! I'm not too frail, injury prone, too old, nor have i lost my passion! Misfortune happens and that's what makes me stronger and builds resiliency! So just know that weather you respect me, hate me, judge me, spread false accusations about me, this is my journey and I say when its over so hear me loud and clear I'm saying "ITS NOT OVER!!"

Lastly, Candice says she doesn't have a page on FaceBook nor MySpace. She also has plans to give her official website, www.CandiceMichelle.com, a makeover so she can actually update it.

Posted by Randy Gordon on 03/16/2009 at 01:51 PM

Former WWE Diva Ashley Massaro has posted a new blog on her MySpace account (www.myspace.com/ashleymizassaro) discussing the passing of Andrew "Test" Martin as well as the Wrestlemania XXV question.

"First off I'd like to comment on the passing of Test. He was a nice guy, and I really am so sorry for his family and friends," Massaro wrote. "It's a tragedy just like the rest and you know which I'm speaking of. Always so so sad. Let's find a way to stop this madness."

As far as possible appearance at WrestleMania XXV is concerned, while she'd like to, it's not possible at this time.

"Another thing I'd like to touch on quickly is Wrestlemania. I know many of you are asking if i will be attending and participating in the 25 Diva Battle Royale and the answer unfortunately is .......no.," Massaro wrote. "I so so so wish I could be it's conflicting right now, there's nothing I'd rather do than come to mania but unfortunately it's just not possible."

Update on Sunny and the Divas Battle Royal

Update on Sunny and the Divas Battle Royal

Thanks to Gina for her help with this one. As noted a few weeks ago, former WWE Diva Tammy “Sunny” Sytch announced on her Facebook page that she was headed to WrestleMania 25, presumably for the 25 Divas Battle Royal. Apparently Sunny was booked for the All Star Wrestling promotion’s 3rd Anniversary show in Gilbert, WV on April 4th but had to pull out of the show due to the invitation to WrestleMania. Here is the letter she sent to the promoter of the indy show, Gary Damron, where she mentions training for the match at WrestleMania.

    Hey Gary

Ok, Ill just tell you by e mail. Im so sorry, but I have to pull out of the show April 4th….I NEVER cancel a show unless its for a really good reason, and this time I have a really good reason…

Im doing the Hall of Fame and Wrestlemania!! I got the call yesterday from Johnny Ace, and Im in the Diva Battle Royal on the show…. and Ill be flying down on Friday..Im terribly sorry, but I cant pass up this chance to be seen by them again..who knows what could come of it! As far as the plane ticket is concerned, if you cancel the reservation with the airline, they will let you apply the fare towards another flight down the road, so it’s not money lost…Ill give you a call later today, as I have a busy day of training ahead of me to prepare.

    Thanks Gary,
    Tam

UPDATE STATUS Kip James EN Jacqueline

News on the status of Kip James and Jacqueline

    source: prowrestling.NET

    - Conspicuous by his absence at last night's Destination X pay-per-view was Kip James as he was not in the corner of The Beautiful People. According to a TNA source, there is some concern that the company will not be renewing his contract as he's said to be on the bubble. His biggest supporter in the company is longtime friend BG James, who works as an agent backstage.

    - Jacqueline also didn't work last night's Destination X pay-per-view as she was not in the corner of Beer Money, Inc. for their match against Team 3D. However, the former WWE Women's Champion did appear at some house show events over the weekend. Her status with the company remains unclear, although we haven't heard anything about the company letting her go. However, several people within the company have questioned her spot with the company considering that a number of wrestler contracts were not renewed. On the other hand, she's known Jeff Jarrett for years, which should help her cause for employment.

Kevin Nash talks about the death of Test

Kevin Nash talks about the death of Test

    Credit: PWTorch.com

TNA star Kevin Nash called Andrew "Test" Martin one of his ten closest friends, but he does not want to speculate that drug abuse caused of Martin's pre-mature death. Nash says he helped Martin enter WWE's rehab program.

"We were really close," Nash told Jeff Wilen in the Daytona Beach (Fla.) News-Journal. "I helped him get into rehab. WWE picked up the dollar and helped him through rehab. Andrew went in. He was doing really well, making his meetings."

Nash has his suspicions on what caused Martin's death even if he's not in a position to speculate until Tampa, Fla. officials perform an autopsy.

"The combination of muscle relaxers and pain pills are lethal," Nash suggested.

    2 blessures op destination x

Consequences Creed suffered a bad concussion last night during the Ultimate X match at Destination X.

TNAWrestlingNews.com is reporting that TNA star James Storm, one half of the current TNA World Tag Team Champions, is said to be suffering from shingles and this is why he was kept off house show events this weekend. Storm was still able to work alongside Robert Roode at last nights Destination X PPV in Orlando, FL where they retained the tag team titles. He'll likely work iMPACT!/PPVs but not live events while he recovers. TNAWrestlingNews.com will also have LIVE TNA iMPACT! spoiler coverage later tonight beginning around 6EST.

The complete results from Sunday's Pay-Per-View are as follows:

    - The team of Taylor Wilde, Roxxi and The Governor defeated The Beautiful People and Madison Rayne after Wilde beat Rayne with a German suplex to get the pin.

    - Brutus Magnus defeated Eric Young after Young answered the newcomer's open challenge. Magnus got the pin after a spinning cutter from the top rope. Following the bout, Sheik Abdul Bashir came out and questioned why he wasn't on the Pay-Per-View. As a result, Jim Cornette kicked Bashir out of the arena, but not before Cornette allowed the United States soldier that introduced Eric Young to sing "God Bless America".

    - "The Blueprint" Matt Morgan defeated Abyss in the Match Of 10,000 Thumbtacks after Morgan kicked Abyss off the entrance ramp into a table filled with the thumbtacks.

    - In the finals of the One Night With ODB, the TNA Knockout picked Cody Deaner as her lucky man after a dance competition between Deaner, Shark Boy and a Mr. Bernie Weber.

    - Awesome Kong successfully defended the TNA Knockouts Championship against Sojo Bolt after beating Bolt with the Awesome Bomb.

    - "Big Poppa Pump" Scott Steiner defeated Samoa Joe by disqualification after Joe snapped early on in the match and assaulted the TNA referees! Although Steiner was declared the winner, Samoa Joe continued the assault after the bout, with the fight spilling outside of the arena. Later, Lauren Brooke found Joe walking away from the brawl with his weapon covered in blood, while Steiner was nowhere to be seen! Joe refused to tell Lauren where Steiner was or what he did to him!

    - "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles defeated Booker T to become the NEW TNA Legends Champion after hitting the Styles Clash on Booker for the pin! After his victory, AJ took the Legends Title into the crowd and held it above his head, as the crowd went insane around him!

    - Team 3D first defeated Beer Money by disqualification in the "Off The Wagon" Challenge after James Storm used a chair. However, Jim Cornette restarted the match, leading to Beer Money losing by countout after they left the arena! 3D hit their finisher on Storm, but Robert Roode yanked him out of the ring and carried him on this back out of the arena while the referee counted the 10. Beer Money are still the reigning champions despite the loss. After the match, Team 3D got into an argument with Don West at the announce table, who was defending Beer Money's actions and actually handed Roode the tag team titles as he fled!

    - Mysterious TNA newcomer Suicide became the new X Division champion on Sunday night by defeating Jay Lethal, Consequences Creed, Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin in The Ultimate X Match! It was truly one of the most daredevil Ultimate X bouts in TNA history, as Suicide made an insane leap from the top of the steel structure to the center cables, knocking down the other competitors and pulling down the gold to win the championship!

    - In the main event, Sting defeated Olympic Gold Medalist Kurt Angle to successfully defend the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. During the bout, Angle accidentally hit Jarrett with a clothesline, knocking the special referee for a loop. Foley came in to help, but Angle hit him with a low blow and then brought a chair into the ring. Foley took the chair from Angle and went to hit him with it, but he missed and nailed Sting! However, when Angle started talking trash to Jarrett, Jarrett smashed Angle in the face, allowing Sting to hit the Scorpion Deathdrop for the pin and the win as Foley and Jarrett raised Sting's arm in victory to end the event!

    REY GEBLESSEERD OP HOUSE SHOW?

Top WWE star injured at house show?

According to Dave Meltzer, it is being reported that Rey Mysterio may have been injured at tonight's WWE house show in Lubbock, TX. Mysterio slipped on the ropes going for his 619 finisher. The source says that Mysterio was attended to by medics for about 10 minutes before being helped to the back and it looked like he injured his left leg. It doesn't seem likely that this was an injury angle since it happened at a house show.

Val Venis gives his thoughts on Test's death

Val Venis gives his thoughts on Test's death

Val Venis (Sean Morley) wrote this on his Facebook page today:

Andrew was a VERY good long time friend who both Matt Bloom and I share many great memories. Andrew's passing is still so shocking. I am still waiting for Johnny Ace or Christian or Edge or Jericho or somebody to call me back in Japan and tell me it was all a mistake. It does not feel real. Andrew "TEST" Martin along with Matt Bloom and myself became like the three amigos as we traveled the road together and shared many great memories. Last night before our match, as Matt and I absorbed the news and tried to make sense of it all, the silence was broken with Matts words which I could not have said better myself. "You know what Val, all the friends we have lost, their deaths really sucked and saddened. But this one HURTS DEEP!"

Drew(burg), I will always remember the great times we had and the memories you provided. You will always have a special place in my heart and my life. I promise, you will never be forgotten.

    REST IN PEACE

    Sean Morley
