What Happened After Raw Last Night
Posted by Steve Carrier on 11/30/2010 at 12:07 AM

Reader Agahzi attended WWE Raw last night and passed along the following report:

Wade Barrett came out and called out John Cena, who ran in from the crowd. Nexus ran out, but Mark Henry and Daniel Bryan chased them off. Cena hit the Attitude Adjustment and Five Knuckle Shuffle on Barrett to end it.

Cena got on the mic and said Barrett was dumb to call him out. He said it's been a wonderful night because he beat up Nexus. He then announced that it was Jerry Lawler's birthday. Cena led the whole crowd in singing happy "103rd" birthday to Jerry Lawler. The crowd sang and the divas all came out with a cake. Along with the Divas were all of the season three NXT forks. Cena took the cake and started a food fight.

    - According to Mike Aldren, there is talking of dropping the WWE Spinner belt now that The Miz is champion and John Cena is "fired" from the company. Apparently, there has been a new belt design ready to go since late 2009.

Mick Foley doesn't feel he will stay with TNA

Mick Foley doesn't feel he will stay with TNA
Posted by Corbin Nordhoff on 12/01/2010 at 02:59 PM

    Credit: Jason Powell of prowrestling.net

During an appearance on "Geek Week Live" on Tuesday, Mick Foley stated that he isn't planning on re-signing with TNA when his contract expires with the company next year.

"I love the idea of having a part-time job that pays well. TNA has been a real blessing in that sense. I would rather be motivated, but it's still nice in this economy to have a job like that. That will expire in eight or nine months. The chances of that relationship continuing are probably not that good. Once you have Hulk Hogan as the face of your company, there's no need for me. And one of the challenges they have on their show, and I understand completely, is there's only so much room for the non-wrestling talker every week, and I had a lot of time to do that for a year and a half."

Foley later went on to say that he expects part of his life to always be involved in wrestling and wouldn't be surprised to receive a call about the WWE Hall of Fame at some point. He also expressed disappointment with TNA not airing any footage of his appearance on "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" and Stewart's "Rally for Sanity."

"I've been beating myself up and it's frustrating because I can't seem to get the decision makers in TNA to realize that it is a big deal to show me in front of 250,000 fans at the Jon Stewart rally and to show the reaction of the crowd. What I'm getting when I ask these questions is a lot of what WCW was. With WWE, we knew that's who you talk to, and so it's very frustrating. I will eventually throw up my hands and just say, 'Okay, I'll walk to the mailbox every two weeks.'"

Foley added that he doesn't plan on wrestling more often as he gets hurt too easy and "it's not worth the extra tenth of a rating point."

Sheamus def. John Morrison to become 2010 King of the Ring
WWE Champion The Miz def. Jerry “The King” Lawler in a Tables, Ladders and Chairs Match

PHILADELPHIA – The lineage of those who’ve worn the King of the Ring crown is rich with WWE Hall of Famers and Legends, including “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, Bret Hart, Edge and Triple H. Tonight, a new King, an Irish King would capture the throne to take his place among WWE royalty.

WWE Champion The Miz def. Jerry “The King” Lawler in a Tables, Ladders and Chairs Match (WATCH | PHOTOS)
In the first defense of his new title, WWE Champion The Miz faced Jerry “The King” Lawler in a Tables, Ladders and Chairs Match. Although the two exchanged heated words earlier in the evening, once inside the ring, they let their actions do the talking.

Unfortunately for Lawler, Alex Riley would also have a say. The Miz's assistant attempted to intervene, but "The King" fought him off. Later, Michael Cole would also interfere in the dangerous duel when he sensed the WWE Champion might lose. The Miz acolyte halted Lawler's ascent up a ladder, costing him the bout and allowing The "Cleveland Screamer" to bask in the glory of his first successful title defense.

Sheamus def. John Morrison to become 2010 King of the Ring (WATCH | PHOTOS)
Welcome your 2010 King of the Ring, Sheamus! The Irishman went into the final match with a distinct advantage, having competed in one earlier qualifying match as opposed to Morrison’s two. The Celtic Warrior heavily leveraged that advantage, using his reserve of energy to overcome Morrison’s impressive athleticism.

After the contest, the royal coronation took place, in which Sheamus was crowned by the reigning Miss USA, Rima Fakih. The time has come, WWE Universe, to hail the new King.

Divas Champion Natalya, Gail Kim & Melina def. Maryse, Alicia Fox & Tamina (WATCH | PHOTOS)
Love knows no bounds – or schedules. Even during a match, the love bug struck Tamina as she paired with Maryse & Alicia Fox against Divas Champion Natalya, Gail Kim & Melina. She was paid a visit by Santino Marella, who serenaded her with a love song. The amorous interruption allowed Natalya to lock the Sharpshooter onto Alicia, who tapped out to give her opponents the win.

Wade Barrett confronted John Cena (WATCH | PHOTOS)
After John Cena ambushed WWE Tag Team Champions Justin Gabriel & Heath Slater, their Nexus leader, Wade Barrett, decided there was only one course of action. The Englishman called out the man he had fired, but Cena was already in the arena parking lot.

The Englishman then ordered his minions to flood the parking lot. When The Nexus members did just that, however, they soon found themselves confronted by a host of Raw Superstars there to face off against them. As his former Nexus cohorts were beaten or fled, Cena told Barrett - the only man who can hire him back - that he would not relent until he took out each and every one of The Nexus’ members.

John Morrison def. Alberto Del Rio in a King of the Ring Semifinals Match (WATCH | PHOTOS)
In their King of the Ring Semifinals Match, John Morrison and Alberto Del Rio had an unexpected visitor. The athletic duo clashed in an impressive outing for both when Del Rio’s nemesis, Rey Mysterio, appeared in Del Rio's automobile. The moneyed Mexican lost focus and found The Shaman of Sexy quick to capitalize, nailing his opponent to advance in the tournament.

Mark Henry & Yoshi Tatsu def. WWE Tag Team Champions Justin Gabriel & Heath Slater in a Non-Title Match (WATCH | PHOTOS)
Accounts of John Cena’s departure have been greatly exaggerated. During a match pitting WWE Tag Team Champions Justin Gabriel & Heath Slater against Mark Henry & Yoshi Tatsu, Cena showed everyone he isn’t going away without a fight. As the Nexus pair fought on, Cena weaved through the crowd and watched from a ringside seat, allowing The World’s Strongest Man to capitalize.

Afterward, the pink-slipped Superstar hopped a barricade and leveled Slater with an Attitude Adjustment through the announce table. Before Nexus descended, Cena made his escape through the frenzied crowd.

WWE Champion The Miz vs. Jerry Lawler in a Tables, Ladders & Chairs Match arranged (WATCH | PHOTOS)
During his celebratory address, new WWE Champion The Miz boasted, bragged and bullied. In other words, he was his typically nauseating self. The whole spectacle proved too much for Jerry “The King” Lawler, who noted that Miz defeated Randy Orton only after the former champion had been attacked by The Nexus and had to fight the group’s formidable leader, Wade Barrett. Miz appeared incensed, but the anonymous Raw General Manager chimed in. The GM arranged a Tables, Ladders & Chairs Match pitting Miz against Lawler!

Ezekiel Jackson vs. Drew McIntyre King of the Ring First Round Match ended in a Double Count-out (WATCH | PHOTOS)
For Ezekiel Jackson, any result shy of victory warrants swift punishment. In his first round, King of the Ring match against Drew McIntyre, Big Zeke and the Scot were both eliminated from crown contention as a result of a double count-out. Though both were eliminated from the tournament, Big Zeke still dragged McIntyre back into the ring, where he slammed him in a fit of rage.

John Morrison def. “Dashing” Cody Rhodes in a King of the Ring First Round Match (WATCH | PHOTOS)
SmackDown 1, Raw 1. In the first round of the 2010 King of the Ring Tournament, John Morrison avenged Raw’s earlier loss by defeating the blue brand’s “Dashing” Cody Rhodes.

The Nexus’ Michael McGillicutty attacked (WATCH)
Michael McGillicutty appeared to be on a mission to penalize R-Truth for trying to help John Cena last week. As he headed toward the ring from the locker room area, however, the Nexus disciple’s mission got cut “painfully” short. He was attacked by an unknown assailant, who offered up a mysterious “You Can’t See Me” wave of the hand at the end of the brutal beatdown.

Alberto Del Rio def. U.S. Champion Daniel Bryan in a King of the Ring First Round Match (WATCH | PHOTOS)
Kicking off Raw’s special King of the Ring tournament, SmackDown’s Alberto Del Rio drove by – in style, naturally – to tangle with United States Champion Daniel Bryan. Not only did the moneyed Mexican prevail in the tournaments first round, he forced Bryan – a proven submission specialist – to tap out!

Alex Riley promised extravagant celebration for new WWE Champion The Miz
After his boss cashed in his Money in the Bank contract and captured the WWE Title, Alex Riley assured the WWE Universe that the celebration later in the evening will be nothing short of spectacular. Knowing Miz as we do, humility’s invitation to the party was likely lost in the mail.

    - MVP and Chris Jericho went back and forth a bit on Twitter this weekend and Jericho asked MVP, "are you still with the company?"

MVP replied with the following: "Barely it would seem. Just barely."

A fan later asked why does MVP always get "screwed over" on SmackDown. MVP replied: "If you find out let me know please! Lol."

Alberto Del Rio def. Big Show (Count-out; King of the Ring Qualifying Match)
Drew McIntyre def. MVP (King of the Ring Qualifying Match)
    Kelly Kelly def. Michelle McCool
"Dashing" Cody Rhodes def. Rey Mysterio (King of the Ring Qualifying Match)

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – As Edge continued to use his maniacal abduction of Paul Bearer as the ultimate mind game against World Heavyweight Champion Kane, Alberto Del Rio, Kofi Kingston, Drew McIntyre and “Dashing” Cody Rhodes all qualified for this year’s King of the Ring Tournament, to be held this Monday on a special three-hour Raw.

“Dashing” Cody Rhodes def. Rey Mysterio in a King of the Ring Qualifying Match (WATCH | PHOTOS)
With Alberto Del Rio adding his two cents to the SmackDown announce team, Rey Mysterio faced-off against Cody Rhodes for the final King for the Ring opportunity of the night.

When the battle spread outside the ring, the high-flying Mysterio accidently landed on Del Rio. The aristocratic Superstar would soon get his revenge. After the intense action between The Master of the 619 and Rhodes caused a collision that knocked the referee to the ground, Del Rio yanked the masked Superstar’s legs back into the steel ring post. This set up The “Dashing One” to execute the Cross Rhodes for the victory. Rhodes exited the ring, setting his sights on King of the Ring this Monday, while Del Rio delivered a post-match onslaught on Mysterio.

Kelly Kelly def. Michelle McCool (WATCH | PHOTOS)
Claiming that Natalya “stole” the Divas Championship from them at Survivor Series, Michelle McCool and Layla came to McCool’s hometown of Jacksonville in a very foul mood.

After fellow hometown Diva Kelly Kelly used a quick reversal to triumph over Michelle, both members of Team Lay-Cool attacked. This assault attracted the wrath of Beth Phoenix, who emerged with fury to take out both members of the flawless duo, culminating in a Glam Slam on Michelle.

Drew McIntyre def. MVP in a King of the Ring Qualifying Match (WATCH | PHOTOS)
Shortly after stomping MVP’s arm into the steel ring steps, Drew McIntyre hit the Future Shock DDT on his injured prey, allowing the “Chosen One” to take his place in King of the Ring in three days.

Alberto Del Rio def. Big Show by count-out in a King of the Ring Qualifying Match (WATCH | PHOTOS)
Alberto Del Rio’s personal ring announcer Ricardo Rodriguez once again sacrificed himself for his employer, holding onto Big Show’s leg outside the ring in order to prevent the giant from reentering the squared circle. Although Rodriguez’s actions earned him a knockout punch, courtesy of The World’s Largest Athlete, the gigantic Superstar was too little too late. Del Rio’s victory by count-out allowed the “Essence of Excellence” to advance the King of the Ring Tournament.

Kofi Kingston def. Jack Swagger in a King of the Ring Qualifying Match (WATCH | PHOTOS)
Despite the “active support” of Jack Swagger’s mascot – The Swagger Soaring Eagle – Kofi Kingston became the first SmackDown Superstar to qualify for King of the Ring Tournament. After escaping the ankle lock with a maneuver that sent his opponent sailing into the steel ring post, Kofi hit The All-American American with Trouble in Paradise for the win.

    World Heavyweight Champion Kane demands that Edge return Paul Bearer (WATCH: Part 1| 2 | 3| 4 | 5 | PHOTOS: Part 1 | Part 2)
At Survivor Series, the World Heavyweight Championship Match ended in a draw, thanks to an extremely controversial finish (Results). Though Kane returned to SmackDown with the title still in his grasp, he continued to agonize over the whereabouts of his father Paul Bearer, abducted two weeks ago by Edge. At The Ultimate Opportunist’s prodding, an uncharacteristically subdued “Devil’s Favorite Demon” asked The Master Manipulator “nicely” to return “The Father of Destruction” to him. But, Edge did not find his request sincere enough to oblige him.

Kane’s obsessive search to reclaim his father continued throughout SmackDown. Every time Kane thought he had caught up with The Ultimate Opportunist, all he found was an empty wheelchair. When The Rated-R Superstar appeared in the crowd with Paul Bearer, threatening to hurl him down the arena stairs in his wheelchair, Kane tried to appease him by offering another opportunity at the World Title. Edge accepted, but still held on to Paul Bearer.

However, that was not Edge's biggest hit of the night. After luring Kane out to the parking lot, The Master Manipulator drove over a fake "Paul Bearer" dummy in full view of the horrified World Heavyweight Champion. As Edge drove on, the petrified Paul Bearer could be seen, still captive in the back seat. (Watch)

Why CM Punk Is Announcing RAW

    - Part of the reason CM Punk was added to the RAW announce team is because Vince McMahon is high on a three-man team. WWE officials are also high on Punk's broadcast work and didn't want to keep him off TV while he recovers from the hip injury.

    - WWE filmed an angle away from fans last night at the Smackdown tapings in Jacksonville, Florida that may be the end of the Paul Bearer character this time around.

The angle saw Paul Bearer trying to roll away from Edge in his wheelchair. Edge got in a gold Lexus and ran over the wheelchair. The segment will likely air on this Friday’s Smackdown or at a later date.

Tommy Mercer vs. Stevie Richards. Winner via Stevie Kick, Stevie Richards.

TNA Impact for 11/25 on Spike TV

Matt Morgan is out in a suit. For the past two weeks he beat Fortune to get his rematch against Jeff Hardy. Then he beat the man himself, Ric Flair. Then by winning that he got to pick his own special referee. That way, what happened at Turning Point won’t happen again.

A rookie referee got nervous and made a mistake. But hey, s— happens. He doesn’t blame the referee, he blames himself. He should’ve annihilated Hardy so bad he wouldn’t be able to move for three days, let alone three seconds.

He needs a man who won’t be afraid to stand up and take care of business. A man who can get the job done. When all is said and done it won’t matter who the referee is, it’ll be all about him becoming the new world champion.

Douglas Williams’ music hits and he joins Morgan. In regards to a referee he says Morgan needs to look no further. He knows what his life with Fortune has been like lately. He insults each member individually. He says he was there for Morgan last week and he can depend on him now. Morgan says he did step up and this is a big decision. He has 10 days to decide and Williams will be the first to know.

Fortune comes out to the top of the ramp. Flair says they’re both outside looking in. Flair says Doug has made a big mistake going against them. Kazarian says Thanksgiving meant to him that there would be lots of wrestling. So how about Morgan and Williams go find some partners and a corner.

Rob Van Dam runs out for the save and Rhino bails. RVD calls out for Rhino for turning on his friends. RVD says at the pay-per-view he’ll handle things and makes the match a first blood match. That way, by the pay-per-view, the DNA of TNA will be DOA for Jeff Hardy. Kaz says let’s go, we have Dixie Carter coming as a special guest and we need to get ready.

Detroit Street Fight, Rhino vs. Tommy Dreamer. Winner Tommy Dreamer.

Matt Morgan, Douglas Williams and Samoa Joe are talking. Morgan says this divide and conquer stuff needs to stop and they need to stick together. Joe says there is no “we” and he handles his own business. Williams says that’s kind of mad to do. Joe says you think I’m mad? Wait until you see what he does tonight in the 8 man.

Williams and Morgan are talking to “The Pope” D’Angelo Dinero. Williams asks Pope to be the fourth member of their team. Pope asks who the third member is. They say Joe and Pope laughs. He doesn’t trust Joe as far as he can throw him. He’s got to much on his plate right now. He wishes them the best of luck tonight but he has to deal with Abyss.

Morgan says what happens when he’s done with Abyss? He then has to go after Fortune by himself. Do it now when everybody is together. Pope says it makes sense and he’ll see them out there.

MMA exhibition match, Jesse Neal vs. Jeff Jarrett. Winner Jeff Jarrett.

Brother Ray is out with a new video and song. He says some of the fans and some of the wrestlers are mad he kicked Devon in the back of the head. His question is, “Why?” Why is anyone mad? He deserved it. If it wasn’t for him he could have retired as champions. Chris Sabin kicked out of the 3D because Devon is weak. He’s put a video package together to show how weak Devon is and how he’s always been the leader of Team 3D.

A video of Devon getting beat up is shown. Ray says he’s embarrassed to even watch it. A loud “you suck” chant starts. He says he’ll prove he doesn’t suck by showing the best of Ray. Highlights of Ray plays while the crowd chants “you still suck.” He can’t believe they still think that after watching the video.

Ray says he heard Devon is mad at him and wants to have some words with him. Ray says if that’s true then come here next week and talk. He’s not hard to find.

Backstage The Beautiful People are messing around with someone and holding up one of their new action figures. Ric Flair walks up and starts joking with them. Mickie James walks up and joins in the fun. Then Tara and Madison Rayne show up and Tara spits in Mickie’s face so a fight breaks out. The Beautiful People attack Madison for fun. Angelina goes to check on Mickie and she accidentally hits Angelina. Mickie and Tara continue fighting all over and disappear around the corner.

Madison Rayne comes out and screams at Sarita for putting her hands on her. She says this is her show and she’s the champ. She’ll talk real slow because she’s a Spaniard but GET OUT HERE NOW. Sarita makes her way down.

Madison Rayne vs. Sarita. Winner Sarita

Douglas Williams, Matt Morgan, The Pope & Samoa Joe vs. Fortune (Beer Money, Kazarian & AJ Styles). James Storm  ends in a no decision.
