    WWE doing a UFC-style show?

    WWE doing a UFC-style show

    - Based on the success UFC has had promoting the upcoming Brock Lesnar vs. Cain Velasquez fight and the recent Rashad Evans vs. Rampage Jackson fight, WWE is strongly discussing UFC-style primetime hype shows for the top match or two at next year’s Wrestlemania 27.

J-Woww to make another appearance in TNA?

J-Woww to make another appearance in TNA?

TMZ.com has yet another update in the ongoing feud between Jersey Shore star “J-Woww” and TNA Knockout Cookie. After J-Woww’s appearance on last week’s episode of TNA iMPACT! culminated with a catfight between the two women, Cookie continued talking trash to TMZ about the Jersey shore star.

The latest is that TMZ sources close to J-Woww say, “Cookie didn’t even get one good punch in with her .. J-Woww would be down for a rematch with that trash.”

J-Woww reportedly got paid $15,000 for last week’s appearance and the ongoing war of words has received a lot of coverage on TMZ ever since.

No word yet on how close J-Woww is to reaching a deal with TNA to wrestle Cookie, but the TMZ source sounds confident it’s going to happen.

Team 3D's return to TNA being questioned?

Team 3D's return to TNA being questioned?
    Credit: PWTorch.com

There was said to be much head shaking over TNA Wrestling re-signing Team 3D to new contracts. While Brother Devon is quite popular in the locker room and Brother Ray is considered good in a backstage role, many feel there is no money to be made in bringing the two back as a tag team, let alone as singles competitors.

“They shouldn’t have been re-signed,” said one company source. “No one (in management) gets it.”

To clarify, a number of people in management didn’t want them re-signed, but TNA president Dixie Carter felt otherwise as it is said that she “really wanted to bring the duo back.”

MVP continues to speak out on his Twitter account. A fan asked him last night if he was happy in WWE. MVP responded, “Not my finest hours but life is all about peaks & valleys! Tomorrow is a new day!”

Another fan asked MVP if he has lost his passion for wrestling. He replied: “I LOVE wrestling! Not crazy about the “business”.”

MVP later said the following about his relationship with WWE: “All relationships have ups & downs. You work thru ‘em. I’M NOT LEAVING! Let ‘em speculate on that. I’m pretty candid!”

Edge won a SmackDown vs. Raw Battle Royal

CALGARY – As Team Raw prepares to make landfall at WWE Bragging Rights in just six days, the red brand found themselves awash in a stormy sea of blue when the SmackDown roster invaded Monday night.

Edge won a SmackDown vs. Raw Battle Royal (PHOTOS | WATCH)
The tensions between Team Raw and Team SmackDown proved too big to be contained. What was to be a match pitting Raw’s Team Captain, The Miz, against SmackDown’s Team Captain, Big Show, ended up escalating into an explosive Battle Royal.

When Show entered the ring, he called upon his fellow SmackDown Superstars to join him. Faced with a stormy sea of blue, Miz then enlisted his brand’s roster to unite behind him as well. The blue and red collision threatened to spiral out of control, until Theodore Long arranged a SmackDown vs. Raw Battle Royal.

With bodies flying and loyalties tested, it was Edge who would prevail by sending Sheamus over the top rope with just six days until he and Team SmackDown head into battle at WWE Bragging Rights.

Natalya def. Alicia Fox (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Canada loves a native daughter. As evidence, the crowd inside Calgary’s Pengrowth Saddledome rattled the rafters when it became clear Natalya would prevail over her opponent, Alicia Fox. “Co-Divas Champions” Michelle McCool & Layla were a couple of notable exceptions. With six days before Natalya challenges for the title, Lay-Cool attempted to ambush her. Although Michelle nearly managed to lock in the Sharpshooter on Natalya, Bret Hart’s niece reversed the submission move and came within moments of locking it in on Layla before McCool managed to snatch away her BFF.

U.S. Champion Daniel Bryan challenged Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler to a match at WWE Bragging Rights (PHOTOS | WATCH)
SmackDown continued their offensive into Raw territory. This time, Vickie Guerrero paraded her blond beau, Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler, around the ring. Before the two exchanged any PDAs, U.S. Champion Daniel Bryan mercifully interrupted. He challenged Ziggler to a match at WWE Bragging Rights, which Ziggler accepted. Six days, however, appeared too long a wait.

The two began to scuffle and Bryan clamped on the LeBell Lock. As Vickie whined for him to leave her boyfriend alone, several Raw Divas slid into the ring and surrounded her. After embarrassing SmackDown’s Official Consultant, the Divas and Bryan began to celebrate with a little dancing. Lucky dog!

WWE Champion Randy Orton & John Cena def. Husky Harris & Michael McGillicutty; The Nexus attacked Orton (PHOTOS | WATCH: PT. 1 | PT. 2)
True to his word, John Cena held nothing back. After Wade Barrett told him to go all out in his tag team match with WWE Champion Randy Orton against Nexus hopefuls Husky Harris & Michael McGillicutty, Cena showed what makes him so tough to beat. He and The Viper cemented their uneasy alliance in an effort to defeat their rookie rivals. After an impressive turn, McGillicutty dropped his guard long enough for Orton to level him with an RKO to win the bout. When Harris attempted to ambush the WWE Champion, the Legendary star foiled the attack.

Suffice to say, Wade Barrett was hardly amused. He ordered Cena out of the ring and instructed his fellow Nexus cohorts to attack Orton, his opponent at this Sunday’s WWE Bragging Rights. The 4-on-1 beatdown left The Viper bruised and battered on the mat.

To compound Orton’s injuries, Barrett commanded Cena to perform an Attitude Adjustment on him. Just as a reluctant Cena was about to hurt his tag partner, his English overlord took The Viper off his shoulders and crashed him to the canvas with Wasteland.

Goldust def. Zack Ryder (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Ted DiBiase had a million reasons to confront Goldust. Before he did, however, The Bizarre One faced down the challenge of Zack Ryder, who he disposed of rather quickly. Afterward, DiBiase and his “harm candy,” Maryse, entered to retrieve The Million Dollar Title, which Goldust had absconded with the week prior.

While The “Fortunate Son” ambushed Goldust, Maryse made a beeline for the goods. Unfortunately for her, Goldust’s NXT Rookie, Aksana, wasn’t giving up the title. Instead, the lithe Lithuanian clutched the glimmering gold and sprinted up the ramp to safety. Afterward, The Bizarre one punished DiBiase for meddling in his odd affairs.

WWE Tag Team Champions Drew McIntyre & "Dashing" Cody Rhodes def. The Hart Dynasty (PHOTOS | WATCH)
The Hart Dynasty may be showing some fissures. After another loss to the WWE Tag Team Champions Drew McIntyre & "Dashing" Cody Rhodes, Tyson Kidd departed in a serious huff, leaving Natalya and his partner, David Hart Smith, to ponder their future prospects.

Team SmackDown invaded Raw; Big Show challenged The Miz to a match (PHOTOS | WATCH)
With SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long leading the charge, the blue brand’s team for WWE Bragging Rights invaded Raw. Long appeared to relish introducing Team SmackDown, including captain Big Show, Edge, Alberto Del Rio, Kofi Kingston, Jack Swagger, Tyler Reks & Rey Mysterio.

The seven interlopers paraded around the ring until Team Raw’s captain, The Miz, confronted them and presented members of the red squad, including CM Punk, John Morrison, Santino Marella, Sheamus and newest member, Ezekiel Jackson.

The two teams scuffled after Team SmackDown refused to exit the ring. Once the air had cleared, Show challenged his counterpart, Miz, to a match later in the evening. Bolstered by his teammates, Mr. Money in the Bank accepted.

Kofi Kingston def. WWE Tag Team Champion Drew McIntyre (Team SmackDown WWE Bragging Rights Qualifying Match)

PORTLAND, Ore. – With WWE Bragging Rights looming, six Superstars competed in a series of Team SmackDown qualifying matches, and The Undertaker accepted World Heavyweight Champion Kane’s challenge to a Buried Alive Match.

The Undertaker accepted World Heavyweight Champion Kane's challenge to a Buried Alive Match (WATCH | PHOTOS)
At the start of SmackDown, The Undertaker was ominously perched high on the outside of the Rose Garden Arena. By the close of the night, The Deadman made his way inside the arena to confront his brother World Heavyweight Champion Kane, who degraded both the WWE Universe and The Phenom. With Paul Bearer at Kane’s side, the duo watched The Undertaker stride quickly and confidently to the ring. After a tense staredown – that lasted for what seemed like minutes – The Deadman unloaded on his treacherous brother, sending him and Paul Bearer running for cover. Who will be seeking shelter when the brothers look to end each other’s very existence in a Buried Alive Match at WWE Bragging Rights? (Preview)

Kofi Kingston def. WWE Tag Team Champion Drew McIntyre (WATCH | PHOTOS)
In the final WWE Bragging Rights Qualifying Match of the night, Kofi Kingston earned a coveted spot on Team SmackDown, when he downed WWE Tag Team Champion Drew McIntyre with Trouble in Paradise. In 2009, SmackDown brought the WWE Bragging Rights trophy home, "and it won't be any different this year," said SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long. Will Teddy's prediction come true? (WWE Bragging Rights Tag Team Match preview)

Tyler Reks def. Kaval (WATCH | PHOTOS)
After watching Kaval earn a spot on Team SmackDown, Tyler Reks hungered for the same and wanted to face Kaval right then and there. Despite an opportunity from SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long to stop the match before it even started, Kaval claimed he was ready for action – even after his grueling encounter with Big Show. However, his confidence proved to be his downfall when he was handily defeated by Reks, who scooped Kaval onto his shoulders and smashed him to the canvas. The impressive showing earned the young Superstar a tremendous opportunity on the pay-per-view stage, while usurping the opportunity from another.

Kaval lasted five minutes with Big Show (WATCH | PHOTOS)
In a unique encounter, Big Show agreed that if Kaval could last five minutes in the ring with him, he would earn a spot on Team SmackDown at WWE Bragging Rights. After withstanding Big Show’s powerful offense for the full five minutes, the NXT season two winner was officially a member of Team SmackDown – albeit briefly lived.

Edge def. Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler in a Non-Title Match (WATCH | PHOTOS)
In a highly-competitive encounter, both Edge and Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler pushed themselves to their very limits. In the end, The Rated-R Superstar prevailed when he blasted Ziggler with a mid-air Spear to earn a position on Team SmackDown at WWE Bragging Rights.

Alberto Del Rio def. Chris Masters (WATCH | PHOTOS)
Keeping with his trademark entrance, Alberto Del Rio drove himself into the arena in a luxury automobile – this time a Maserati. Once the action began, Chris Masters fell victim to Del Rio’s cross armbreaker, qualifying Del Rio for Team SmackDown. After the win, Del Rio refused to shake his captain Big Show’s hand. Not offended, The World’s Largest Athlete said he respected the move and that the “Bottom line is come WWE Bragging Rights, he has to pin someone from Raw.”

Jack Swagger def. MVP (WATCH | PHOTOS)
After MVP kicked and threw the "Swagger Soaring Eagle" mascot across the announce table, Jack Swagger quickly retaliated by making MVP submit to his lethal ankle lock. With the win, The All-American American ensured his presence at WWE Bragging Rights.

Big Show pledged allegiance to SmackDown
With Team SmackDown captain Big Show part of the announce team, he was asked by Michael Cole about turning his back on Team Raw at last year’s WWE Bragging Rights. The World’s Largest Athlete made it clear. "My heart is with SmackDown, the Knucklehead star said. "My blood is blue for SmackDown."  (Knucklehead microsite)

Rey Mysterio def. "Dashing" Cody Rhodes (WATCH | PHOTOS)
In the first Team SmackDown WWE Bragging Rights Qualifying Match of the night, Rey Mysterio tangled with WWE Tag Team Champion “Dashing” Cody Rhodes. After defeating Alberto Del Rio last week, The Ultimate Underdog picked up another win by blasting Rhodes with the 619 followed up by a springboard splash.

Matt Hardy comments on being released from WWE
Posted by Roscoe De Soto on 10/15/2010 at 04:33 PM

    From Matt Hardy's Twitter:

"Thank God! :) I swear.. It was harder for me to get released then it was to get hired! This is ABSOLUTELY what I want, now I can be me! I wanna thank WWE for giving me an opportunity, & I thank all the people & friends that helped me there. But I HAD to move on to be happy. I wanna thank JR, who hired me, Michael Hayes, who taught me SO much, & Vince, for letting me make a living & learn from him for 12 years. While some of you make look at this as an ending-I promise you, this is THE MUTHAF*CKING BEGINNING FOR MATT HARDY! Now I can create change! Altho WWE gave me SO much, I honestly feel like a prisoner set free. Now I have no more strict rules, personal or creative, to be bound by. I want to change the business in many area, the way workers are treated & think, & how to live happily outside of the machine. I'm excited!"
