Shannon Moore & Jimmy Wang Yang def. WWE Tag Team Champions John Morrison & The Miz
    Shelton Benjamin def. Local
    Kenny Dykstra def. Nunzio
ECW Champion CM Punk def. United States Champion Montel Vontavious Porter (disqualification)

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Land of the Extreme turned upside down on ECW on Sci Fi Tuesday night, as champions licked their wounds and challengers celebrated.

The most confident tandem in sports-entertainment, WWE Tag Team Champions John Morrison & The Miz,  kicked off the evening when they  took on Shannon Moore & Jimmy Wang Yang. Our fans on ECW Fan Feedback asked to see the rematch of these two tag teams, and WWE delivered. Since upsetting MVP & Matt Hardy and taking their titles, Morrison & The Miz have been able to put aside their personal differences for the good of remaining champions. It was a different story when they entered the ring for a rematch of last week's bout, however, as Moore & Yang's hard work since their last meeting paid off with a win.

After Moore & Yang’s victory over the WWE Tag Team Champions, it’s hard not to question the chemistry and communication between the Shaman of Sexy and the self-proclaimed “chick magnet.” Is a common goal truly enough to keep these competitors working efficiently together? Or is the gap between them, initially sparked by their personal desires to unseat CM Punk as ECW Champion, too much to overcome?

Shelton Benjamin had a better night than Morrison & The Miz. The man who considers himself to be the “Gold Standard” in ECW has yet to suffer defeat since joining the roster, though our fans and Tazz called into question his most recent opponent. A hometown athlete taking part in his first match was no contest for Benjamin, who announced once again before leaving the arena that there "ain’t no stopping him now."

Speaking of new Superstars, Kofi Kingston offered a tour of his home, Jamaica. He brought another message to ECW, continuing to warn the roster that he intends on bringing trouble to Tuesday night paradise. (WATCH)

Later in the night, Nunzio dressed for the holiday season. Even after setting the bar so high with his Halloween costume, Nunzio still did not disappoint. Unfortunately, while he succeeded in impressing with his elf outfit, he fell short in his match against Kenny Dykstra.

Capping off the night, United States Champion Montel Vontavious Porter boasted his superiority to ECW Champion CM Punk. WWE’s highest-paid Superstar didn't prove himself within the rules, though, as he was disqualified in the main event. Chavo Guerrero made a surprise appearance and added to Punk’s already difficult night with an attack. (WATCH) More on this story…

Big update on Matt Hardy's injury

Posted by Bobby Spade on 12/20/2007 at 01:07 PM

In a recent interview with IGN.com, Jeff Hardy gave an update on Matt Hardy's condition after he had an emergency appendectomy last month. Jeff said, "Matt's good, he's at home, his appendix burst when he was in Tampa, so he goes home, he's out of the hospital one week, and he starts having chills and fevers. He went back in and had to get 40 more cc's of infection out of his toe. Now, this is the best he's felt since this all started."

Mr. Kennedy's future status in doubt

Posted by Bobby Spade on 12/20/2007 at 01:05 PM

Internally, the feeling on Mr. Kennedy is that his current program with Shawn Michaels is a "sink or swim" opportunity for him. The feeling is that if doesn't rise to the occasion to stand out in his program feud with HBK, he'll be relegated to mid-card status for the foreseeable future. According to one source, he's listening to pretty much anyone and everyone for advice on how to improve in the ring, including creative team writers. He used to be very close with Steve Austin, but Austin said in a recent interview that he is listening to too many people. Kennedy is said to have little confidence in his own instincts as a performer, which might explain why he's often trying new things and different finishers in his matches as of late.

BUFFALO, N.Y.  – With a partnership forged by the fires of mutual respect, World Tag Team Champions Cody Rhodes & Hardcore Holly proved once again that they can withstand the heat.

Last week, the pair captured the World Tag Team Championship from Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch during Raw’s 15th Anniversary Spectacular. As if to reinforce that victory, Rhodes and Holly met the challenge of the Southern-fried duo again this week. After a series of mistakes by the former champions, Rhodes managed to lay Cade out for the three-count, assuring that he and Holly will be polishing the championship gold for at least a while longer.

    International Alliance

Like a couple of outcast exchange students roaming the halls of high school, Carlito and Santino Marella were bound to find each other. The Italian Stallion and the Caribbean Bad Apple joined forces Monday night and made an immediate impact by defeating former two-time Tag Team Champions Paul London & Brian Kendrick.

    Naughty and Nice

Mickie James, Maria, Kelly Kelly & Michelle McCool took on Melina, Jillian, Layla & Victoria in a Santa’s Little Helper Tag Match on Monday, giving guys eight more gifts to put on their wish lists. In the end, Mickie James earned the pin for her team.

    Suits vs. Skins

At the behest of a despondent Mr. McMahon, who was seething over his humiliation at Raw XV, Triple H was forced to battle both William Regal & Jonathan Coachman in a 2-on-1 Handicap Match. Despite the odds, The Game disposed of the “suits” by administering a Pedigree to a woeful Coachman.  Video

    Stayin’ Alive

Knowing his next time in the ring could be his last, the legendary Ric Flair proved again that he’s not ready to throw in the towel. The resilient “Naitch” faced off against Umaga and defeated the Samoan Bulldozer by count-out.  Story | Video

    Royal Sampler?

In an explosive tag team match, Jeff Hardy & Shawn Michaels battled Randy Orton & Mr. Kennedy. In what may be a sign of things to come in their title match at the Royal Rumble, Hardy dropped the Swanton Bomb on the WWE Champion for the win.  Story | Video

Some live fan notes from WWE Armageddon
NoDQ.com > WWE > Some live fan notes from WWE Armageddon
Posted by Bobby Spade on 12/16/2007 at 11:58 PM

    Jmart sent this in:

Just got back from it live. Here's some notes:

    Biggest pops:
    Undertaker
    Y2J
    HHH
    HBK
    Mysterio

    Biggest Heat:
    Randy Orton
    JBL
    Edge
    MVP

-The 3 Edges really confused the live crowd
-Undertaker's entrance was phenominal live. As was virtually every other entrance
-Biggest pop during a match was when Jericho moved Orton into the center of the ring, right before JBL interfered
-Tons of Kennedy shirts being worn
-Lillian fell right before announcing Beth Phoenix as the winner. Funny because at a raw show here back in June of 06, Charlie Hass caused her to sprain her wrist by accidentally bouncing her off the ring apron. She is one tough diva though, I must say, props
-Pre ppv match was John Morrison and The Miz vs. Jesse and Festus. Jesse and Festus got the clean win
-After the ppv went off the air, Undertaker walked to the back while his music played. Batista then got up and left high fiving a few of the fans on his way to the back. Lillian then thanked everyone for coming
-Crowd was mostly pro-HHH, and suprisingly some were anti-Hardy
-Overall it was a pretty good show, crowd was pretty hot through out. Edge's victory got a decent pop. However, it lacked that one great match that would of made it a great show. IE a street fight, or ladder match, something different

Kans is groot dat STING nog 1 jaar doorgaat

Sting to stay with TNA for one more year?
Posted by Bobby Spade on 12/15/2007 at 12:09 PM

Sting, who turns 49 years old in March, has either verbally agreed to a new contract, or the belief is that they are close to an agreement. It is said to be a new one-year deal. He will do some TV, most PPV's, and hardly any house shows. Dixie Carter sees him as a wrestler who makes TNA look more major league and whose name will help them land more licensing deals.

BOSTON – The city of Boston’s “Beantown” moniker accurately describes what happened to Rey Mysterio on Friday Night SmackDown.

With his Armageddon opponent, United States Champion MVP, looking on as a guest commentator, Mysterio took on Kenny Dykstra. SmackDown’s self-proclaimed “future Hall of Famer” put up a valiant fight against Mysterio, but the Master of the 619 was able to Drop the Dime on Dykstra for the victory.

After the bout, MVP entered the ring, congratulating Rey on his impressive win. While he had called Mysterio “half a man” on commentary only minutes earlier, the Ballin’ Superstar told Rey that he is an “amazing” competitor and requested a handshake; Mysterio was understandably leery, but the champion brushed it off, as if he understood.

Moments later, however, Mysterio understood just how heavy the U.S. Championship truly is. Mid-sentence, MVP reacted to Dykstra staggering to his feet behind Rey, and when the Master of the 619 turned to see what spooked MVP, the Ballin’ Superstar took the opportunity to clobber him in the back of the head with the gold. The champion then cockily walked away, smirking as Mysterio lay prone in the ring. (WATCH)

Has MVP gained the psychological advantage heading into his showdown with Mysterio at Armageddon, or will this attack further fuel Rey’s quest to teach SmackDown’s Franchise Playa some respect, and become United States Champion? Read more on Rey vs. MVP at Armageddon…
    Punjabi tea party

Boston has a high population of Irish-Americans, but Friday was a bad night in Beantown for pure-bred Irishman, Finlay. As ordered, Assistant General Manager Theodore Long announced a Raw – and Survivor Series – rematch between Hornswoggle and The Great Khali. Once again, however, the match never reached its conclusion.

This time, Finlay made his way out – with shillelagh in hand – to protect his little buddy. His onslaught was effective momentarily, but a quick-thinking Ranjin Singh would be his undoing. Khali’s translator grabbed a hold of Hornswoggle, threatening to hurt the littlest McMahon if Finlay didn’t stop his assault on Khali.

The ornery Irishman quickly took care of that threat – clobbering Singh and tossing him out of the ring – but that gave the Punjabi giant time to recover and crack Finlay with a giant chop to the head. He then nailed Finlay with a Khali Bomb, leaving him decimated for the second straight week. (WATCH)

What will happen when these two finally lock up one-on-one at Armageddon?
    More trouble in paradise

Michelle McCool wouldn’t have to come to Kelly Kelly’s aid on SmackDown like she did Tuesday night on ECW; this time, the Divas were side-by-side as they took on Victoria & Layla in tag team action.

Unfortunately, much like last week’s contest between Michelle’s friend, Chuck Palumbo, and Jamie Noble, an accidental distraction cost the beautiful blondes the match. When Kenny Dykstra – who was at ringside with Victoria & Layla – tripped McCool, Palumbo roared out on his motorcycle to chase Dykstra. However, this distracted Michelle momentarily, allowing Victoria to roll her up from behind and score the pinfall.

Moments later, Michelle caught up with an again-furious Palumbo in the locker room; she tried to calm him down, but after lamenting over his recent streak of bad luck, the motorcycle enthusiast punched a hole through the wall before stomping away, still mad.

The revved-up Superstar couldn’t have been any happier after seeing what Noble did for McCool later in the night. As she and Kelly entered their locker room, they happened upon quite an array of roses and gifts left by Noble in preparation for next week’s date. Michelle actually seemed flattered by Noble’s advances; what will happen when they finally have their date?
    Last Hoo-rah?

Jesse & Festus finally got the upper hand on WWE Tag Team Champions The Miz & John Morrison this week, as Festus defeated Miz in singles action. Jesse & Festus had lost two straight tag team matches to the Extreme champions in recent weeks, but it was a different story when the self-proclaimed “chick magnet” had to fly solo.

While Festus had Miz up in a fireman’s carry, Morrison tried to help his partner. Instead, the burly “grizzly bear” (as color commentator JBL called him) used Miz to knock the Shaman of Sexy down to the arena floor before dropping to the mat with a flapjack to pick up the victory.
    Triple Threat Theatre

Although wheelchair bound and sporting a neck brace as a result of Undertaker’s attack weeks ago, SmackDown General Manager Vickie Guerrero returned to her duties this week. In her first act back, she announced that all three participants in the Triple Threat Match at Armageddon – World Heavyweight Champion Batista, Undertaker and the love of her life, Edge – would see singles action just 48 hours before their big night.

Once again, however, the Ultimate Opportunist seemed to be the only one to escape the night relatively unscathed. While Edge made quick work of Funaki, The Animal and The Phenom had a much tougher time with three of WWE’s biggest Superstars – Batista in a Last Man Standing Match with Kane, Undertaker in a Handicap Match against Mark Henry & Big Daddy V – as well as the pesky Rated-R S

To answer many of your questions, yes, the rumors are true ... Jake Roberts entered rehab on Monday, Dec. 10th.

Obviously, Jake wanted his whereabouts kept private and confidential.

We were shocked and disturbed to see that this information was sadly and unfortunately leaked.

With that said, now all we ask is that you keep Jake Roberts in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Klik op de afbeelding om de link te volgen NEWS FROM THURSDAY'S "iMPACT!" BROADCAST ON SPIKE TV
The road continues to the January 6 "Final Resolution" PPV
    By Bill Banks

There are several news items to report from Thursday's "iMPACT!" broadcast on SpikeTV as TNA Wrestling heads towards the Sunday, January 6 "Final Resolution" Pay-Per-View event.

    - Going into Thursday's broadcast, Christian Cage promised he would get revenge on The Angle Alliance for what they did to him. A bout was signed featuring Cage and a partner of his choice vs. Kurt Angle and Robert Roode, but "The Instant Classic" couldn't get anyone to agree to be his partner (Kaz, Kevin Nash, Samoa Joe and Booker T all turned Cage down). In the end, Cage went it alone in the bout - but the odds were against him. Cage lost the match and suffered another beating afterwards at the hands of Angle and Roode. AJ Styles came down to ringside and looked as though he was going to help his former mentor, but he backed off and never entered the ring.

    - By winning the "Feast Or Fired" four-way bout on the broadcast, Scott Steiner was offered a unique opportunity: A $50,000 check or the chance to switch cases with either BG James, Christopher Daniels or Petey Williams. Steiner chose to switch his case and took Petey's case, which he believed had the shot at the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.

    - The "Feast Or Fired" cases were opened later in the broadcast, and here are the results: Petey Williams earned the TNA World Heavyweight Championship shot, BG James earned the TNA Tag Team Title shot (although he was non-committal if Kip James would be his partner for the contest), Scott Steiner got the X Championship shot (much to his anger) - but the big news is that Christopher Daniels found out his case (which he won from Senshi) contained the slip revealing he had been fired! TNA security escorted Daniels from the ring as "The Fallen Angel" said his final goodbyes to the fans. Daniels is no longer a part of the TNA roster.

    - During an in-ring confrontation, manager James Mitchell threatened Abyss that he would reveal yet another secret he knows about his former protege. However, Abyss eventually snapped and mauled Mitchell - leading to the return of Judas Mesias! Mesias wrapped a piece of barbed wire around Abyss' neck and bloodied his nemesis while Mitchell watched on.

    - Kaz defeated the maniacal newcomer Rellik, but Black Reign hit the ring after the bout join in on an assault on Kaz. Later in the broadcast, Black Reign's alter-ego Dustin Rhodes was interviewed by Crystal. He claimed he couldn't be held responsible for Reign's actions, but Kaz disagreed as he attacked Rhodes during the interview for what happened earlier.

    - Velvet Sky and Angelina Love defeated Ms. Brooks and an intoxicated Jackie Moore in women's tag team action. After the bout, Robert Roode berated Brooks, leading to Sharmell hitting the ring to confront Roode about his treatment of women. Roode had some choice words for Sharmell, which brought out Booker T. Before Booker could hit the ring, Roode bailed out and talked trash with his nemesis from the entrance ramp. Speaking of Booker T, he beat "Wildcat" Chris Harris in singles action on the broadcast.

    - In a Lumberjack Strap Match, X Division Champion "Black Machismo" Jay Lethal defeated Johnny Devine, getting his revenge on the X turncoat. After the bout, members of the X Division hit the ring and poured on the punishment on Devine. After the beating, Team 3D came out and talked trash with the Motor City Machineguns.

BOSTON — Gold was the color of the night on ECW on Sci Fi as four championship titles made their way through the Land of the Extreme.

Batista may have his Triple Threat Match at Armageddon on his mind, but he needed to set those thoughts aside momentarily for ECW. The Animal experienced just as much success as he did last week when he defeated Elijah Burke on SmackDown, despite the fact that the rematch was on the Guiding Light’s territory. Just days away from his date with destiny at the pay-per-view, Batista made the Land of the Extreme shake on his way to a powerful victory.

In other Tuesday night action, Kelly Kelly received a wake-up call back to reality as the tandem of Layla & Victoria proved to be too much for the blond beauty in their Handicap Match. The Miz has spent weeks trying to make Kelly’s life a living hell, scheduling match after match. Kelly, however, has managed to fair well in those contests, for the most part. But in her task at taking on two Divas at once, Kelly fell short. A bright spot for the former member of Extreme Exposé came after the bell when Michelle McCool rushed to her side.

When he’s not busy making life difficult for Kelly, The Miz is finding success of his own in the squared circle. His success with John Morrison continues as the unlikely pair showed why they are the WWE Tag Team Champions when they took on Shannon Moore & Jimmy Wang Yang. Individually, the Shaman of Sexy and the self-proclaimed “chick magnet” are tough athletes for anyone to face. Together, they have been one of the most successful forces in sports-entertainment today.

Outside of the ring, Shelton Benjamin reminded our fans that he is the new gold standard in ECW. Will he prove to make a great impact on ECW? Only time will tell.

The evening began when ECW Champion CM Punk teamed up with Kane to defeat former WWE Tag Team Champions Deuce & Domino. SmackDown’s Big Red Machine has had the Straightedge Superstar’s back. Together, the duo may have found a formula to outmatch both ECW and SmackDown competition. (WATCH) More on this story...

Breaking News: Top TNA Knockout Suffers Broken Leg
Posted by Ryan Gray on 12/12/2007 at 03:41 PM

    Source - PWInsider

TNA just sent out a text alert via their mobile service that Karen Angle suffered a broken leg at last night’s Impact tapings.

The injury was suffered when she landed awkwardly while exiting the six sided ring during a segment being taped for Impact. Spectators said that she had to be carried backstage after the segment was over and didn’t return to ringside for the rest of the night including missing Kurt’s match later in the taping. Original reports had suggested it was just a sprain or break of the ankle, but the term used by TNA was a "broken leg."

No word yet on how long she will be out.

Thanks to Geoffrey Gillott & WrestlingObserver.com:

The crowd tonight was read hot from beginning to end, Only dying down during the Kennedy vs Jannetty match which few seemed to care about. Seeing all the legends back was just fantastic, even if guys like Bart Gunn and The Goon went over most peoples heads. Some of the guys more familliar from the attitude era like Blackman and Gillberg got big pops however. Hogan's reaction wasn't quite as big as I expected. I'm not sure how it came out on TV, but it wasn't nearly big as the pop Triple H got during the three times he came out.

The dark match had DH Smith defeating Steve Corino

After the show, the Beer Bash continued for about another 5 minutes, with just about everyone drinking a beer, except for Backlund who just had a bottle of water. Not sure if Godfathers women were legitimate prostitutes or just models, but they starting flashing their assets to th crowd after the show, a very classy thing to do in front of children.

Mae Young got a very respectful reaction from the crowd as well

    Mr. Kennedy def. Marty Jannetty

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – In a night where legends returned to their old stomping ground, new champions were crowned tonight during Raw’s 15th Anniversary celebration. Cody Rhodes & Hardcore Holly’s tenuous relationship proved fruitful, and they defeated Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch for the World Tag Team Championship.

Cody’s father, WWE Hall of Famer “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes watched from ringside, as Holly caught Murdoch in the Alabama Slam and picked up the winning golden pinfall for his team. The Arena at Harbor Yard crowd cheered as a proud Dusty embraced his son and held the new champions’ arms high.

The win ended the “Redneck Wrecking Crew’s” three-month reign as champs and marked Cody’s first title win in WWE and the third World Tag Team Championship for Holly. Maybe Cody, who fought his now-championship partner several weeks in singles competition before they formed their team, has finally earned Holly’s respect. Watch exclusive video...

    Hogan knows best
When Mr. McMahon ordered that Hornswoggle get another mandated dose of “tough love” and face The Great Khali in a Survivor Series rematch, it looked like the little guy’s luck was about to run out. But Hulk Hogan came to ringside and chopped the Punjabi Giant down to size. The colossus rolled out of the ring, leaving the Hulkster and Hornswoggle to pose for the cheering crowd. Video

    A royal success
With 15 former Raw competitors involved in a Raw 15th Anniversary Battle Royal, the fans roared as the devious tax collector Irwin R. Schyster outlasted Sgt. Slaughter, Skinner, Scotty 2 Hotty and the rest of the field. But just as IRS was to be announced the winner, the “Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase offered his former Money Inc. partner a wad of cash to eliminate himself over the top rope, making DiBiase the winner. Bischoff gets block knocked off
Former Raw General Manager Eric Bischoff was taking credit for Raw’s success when he was interrupted by Chris Jericho. Bischoff, who fired Y2J from Raw two years ago, said Jericho should forfeit his upcoming match against WWE Champion Randy Orton at Armageddon and save fans the money. But, as Orton attempted a sneak attack, Y2J had a message for both Bischoff and the Legend Killer. Story …

    Diva reunion
As Jillian Hall tried to serenade the crowd with holiday carols, Trish Stratus came to ringside to put an end to the horrendous racket. As Jillian and Trish argued, Lita arrived to get in the face of her former rival. Jillian encouraged the two to fight, but Lita would have none of it. Trish and Lita teamed to chase Jillian away, and then hugged, seemingly settling their differences for the Raw celebration.

    Kennedy sends message
After bringing out an imposter last week, Mr. Kennedy faced the real Marty Jannetty, the former Rockers teammate of Shawn Michaels. Kennedy fended off a near upset and defeated Jannetty by pinfall – and then attempted to send a message to HBK at the expense of his former Rocker partner. However, HBK – and ultimately DX partner Triple H – had a message of their own for the loudmouth. Story | Video
