“Dashing” Cody Rhodes def. Matt Hardy
Dolph Ziggler def. Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston (Intercontinental Championship Match)
The Straight Edge Society def. MVP, JTG & Chris Masters
    Rey Mysterio def. Drew McIntyre

LAREDO, Texas – Just nine days before their SummerSlam showdown, Rey Mysterio accused World Heavyweight Champion Kane of being The Undertaker’s attacker. Meanwhile, Dolph Ziggler stunned the WWE Universe by capturing the Intercontinental Championship from Kofi Kingston and Team Lay-Cool brought their B.F.F. relationship to a whole new level.

Rey Mysterio def. Drew McIntyre (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Although Drew McIntyre was able to avoid the 619 in the final moments of his heated battle against Rey Mysterio, the athleticism of the No. 1 contender to the World Heavyweight Championship ultimately proved too much for McIntyre. As the “Sinister Scotsman” was attempting to continue his attack on his masked prey, Mysterio suddenly turned his plans-for-pain upside-down, rolling up his opponent for the quick pin.

Following the match, however, World Heavyweight Champion Kane emerged, pushing a horrific coffin along with him. When McIntyre attacked Mysterio from behind, it looked as if The Ultimate Underdog might end up six feet under. After narrowly escaping the potential wrath of The Big Red Monster, Mysterio made the shocking claim that Kane, and not he, had carried out the infamous Memorial Day attack on his own brother, The Phenom.

The Straight Edge Society def. MVP, JTG & Chris Masters (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Though officially part of the Six-Man Tag Team Match, CM Punk opted to let Luke Gallows and Joey Mercury handle the bulk of the battle. While each Superstar looked impressive in his own right, it was a devious kick from The Straight Edge Savior from outside the ropes that caught an unsuspecting MVP off guard, setting Gallows up to finish off The Franchise Playa’ with a devastating boot to the face.

The Straight Edge Society recalled their assault on Big Show (WATCH)
Before the Six-Man Tag Team Match, CM Punk laughed alongside the Straight Edge Society, reflecting on their vicious attack on Big Show one week ago. But, the tune of the Second City Saint quickly changed, as he began to admonish his disciples for being too pleased with their own success. Forcing them on their knees, Punk warned, “Satisfaction is the death of desire.”

Will Big Show be ready to face the full force of The S.E.S. at SummerSlam? (Match preview)

Dolph Ziggler def. Kofi Kingston to become the new Intercontinental Champion (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Moments after Kofi Kingston hit Trouble in Paradise on Dolph Ziggler, SmackDown’s Official Consultant Vickie Guerrero entered the ring to admonish the referee. The distraction allowed Ziggler to hit the Zig Zag on the distracted Intercontinental Champion and capture the illustrious title for the first time!

An irate Kingston immediately sought retribution after the bell, delivering an intense, post-match assault that the new champion will not soon forget.

Women’s Champion Layla and Michelle McCool turn the Women’s Championship into a giant B.F.F charm (WATCH)
After SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long ordered Layla and Michelle McCool to surrender one of their titles so there could only be one Women’s Champion, Team Lay-Cool responded with a surprise move. As they appeared to be fighting over who should carry the championship, they pulled one title apart, creating two halves. On a technicality, it seems Layla and Michelle found a way to continue their reign as self-professed “co-Women’s Champions.”

“Dashing” Cody Rhodes def. Matt Hardy (PHOTOS | WATCH)
With the help of the Cross Rhodes, Cody Rhodes scored an impressive win over Matt Hardy. The victory allows the handsome Superstar to continue his meteoric rise to prominence on Friday night, proving with authority that he is not just another pretty face.

Drew McIntyre challenged Rey Mysterio to a main event match (PHOTOS)
As Rey Mysterio denied the accusations from World Heavyweight Champion Kane that he was the Superstar who attacked The Undertaker on Memorial Day weekend – an assault that left The Demon of Death Valley in a vegetative state – Drew McIntyre interrupted. The ruthless “Chosen One” challenged Mysterio to a match, just nine days before The Master of the 619 faces The Big Red Monster for the title at SummerSlam. (Match preview)

We open the show with a video package recapping last week’s events as Abyss crashed the Extreme party and fought it out with Tommy Dreamer, and then Raven turned on Dreamer to reignite their old rivalry.

Tonight: Abyss & Raven take on Rob Van Dam & Tommy Dreamer, and here comes Tommy now, clearly limping to the ring, to deliver a message: he calls Raven out to the ring to explain himself. Raven comes out to the top of the entranceway and stops, so Tommy asks him why he did it knowing what this meant to Tommy and everybody else. They were friends and enemies, but Tommy thought that was behind them now that Raven comes to Tommy’s house and his kids call him Uncle Scotty. Crowd starts an Uncle Scotty chant. Raven says they’ve known each other for 30 years, and he asks if Tommy really thinks he’s ever going to forgive him for stealing his girl from her, and marrying her, because those kids should be his. Raven decided to bide his time, dealing with Tommy for all these years, and now he got his opportunity to shatter Tommy’s plans into a million pieces. He plans to cripple Tommy (Tommy begins to leave the ring and walk towards Raven), and after he does that he’s going to find Tommy’s wife, give her some Hard Justice, and make her call him daddy. Tommy lays Raven out and starts beating him to smithereens, but Abyss comes out of nowhere to attack Tommy, but then Rob Van Dam runs out to make the save. RVD chases Abyss off with a chair, but leaves Tommy alone with Raven, who DDTs him at the top of the ramp. Mick Foley comes out with a barbed wire baseball bat and gives Raven a shot in the gut with it, then announces that there will be a clear winner at Hardcore Justice because he’s going to be the special referee.

We go to Mike and Taz, who announce that tonight, Beer Money will face the Motor City Machine Guns in Ultimate X, Ric Flair will take on Jay Lethal will take on Ric Flair in a Streetfight, and of course Abyss & Raven will take on Rob Van Dam & Tommy Dreamer.

Velvet Sky & Lacey Von Erich are out, and they’ll defend the Knockouts Tag Team Title…right after this commercial break!

Okay, we’re back and it’s time for title action…

Knockouts Tag Team Title Match: Beautiful People vs Taylor Wilde & Hamada

For some reason, they decide to let Lacey start and Taylor gets a rollup for 2, Velvet grabs at Taylor from the outside, allowing Lacey to just barely get a fallaway slam, but tosses Taylor right into her own corner, and she tags in Hamada who lays into Lacey, but Lacey forgets to sell on a chop so Hamada nails her again. Velvet grabs Hamada from the outside and Lacey hits a flying knee and tags in Velvet, who snapmares and boots Hamada for 2. Lacey back in and they repeatedly double whip Hamada into the corner and then hit a double STO and Lacey covers for 2, then misses her backflip elbow, then completely misses another elbowdrop, allowing Hamada to hit a couple of shots and tag back out to Taylor, who doesn’t get Lacey to perform any more successfully than Hamada did. All four girls wind up in the ring and the faces leave the Beautiful People laying, but wait…Madison Rayne is standing at the top of the ramp as Dumpy Ass comes down to ringside. Like a couple of idiots, Taylor and Hamada stand there gaping at her, allowing the Beautiful People to hit them from behind and Velvet catfights out to the floor with Hamada, and then Dumpy Ass hands a chair to Lacey, but Taylor Wilde dropkicks the chair into Lacey’s face and covers her for the win and the Knockouts Tag Team Title.

Winners and NEW Knockouts Tag Team Champions: Taylor Wilde & Hamada

Madison stands at the top of the rampway looking quite unhappy, and Velvet doesn’t look any happier with her.

After a quick commercial break, time for another title match…

TV Title Match: AJ Styles vs Rob Terry

The referee kicks Kazarian out of ringside for this one and Kazarian won’t go, so Rob Terry clotheslines both Kazarian and AJ over the top to the floor. Terry goes out and picks up AJ and press slams him back into the ring. He chases Kazarian up the rampway and AJ tries a springboard move, but Terry shoves him off the top, then whips AJ into the ropes and kills him with a clothesline. Terry picks up AJ with a choke and slams him into the corner, then rams shoulderblocks into the gut. Terry with a backdrop and then charges AJ in the corner, AJ tries to get the feet up but Terry catches the feet, throws them down, and nails AJ, then chokes him so hard he actually drives AJ almost completely over the top rope, then lifts him up to the top rope and chokeslams him off the top. AJ lays in a series of chops to Terry, but Terry no sells so AJ gets a low blow behind the referee’s back, a Pelle kick, and the springboard 450 for the win.

    Winner: AJ Styles

Kazarian runs back out with the belt and celebrates with AJ, and then both men heard for the hills as we get the replay treatment.

We go to a video package recapping Kurt Angle’s quest to go through the entire Top 10 Rankings, one by one, until he makes it to number one, at which point he will challenge for and regain the TNA World Title.

We go backstage to Jay Lethal, and Kurt Angle told him he needs that one thing to make him a man, and going into his Streetfight with Ric Flair tonight, he’s going to bring the man.

Also backstage, Velvet Sky and Madison Rayne get into a pull apart brawl, and Lacey Von Erich gets shoved into a wall and knocked out. Velvet suddenly freaks out and goes to check on Lacey…as we head back to the ring for our next match!

Best Of Five Series Match Four – Ultimate X: TNA World Tag Team Champions Motor City Machine Guns vs Beer Money

Roode takes a mic before the match and says that they don’t like each other, but the fact is that they have redefined tag team wrestling over the last few weeks. Roode says they’re a great team, but from day one, Beer Money’s goal has been to be not only the best in TNA, but the world, and the only way to be the best is to have the TNA World Tag Team Title, so tonight, in the MCMGs match, they’re going to defeat them at their own game and become four time TNA World Tag Team Champions. Sabin, who already had a mic in his hand, says that the belts around their waists mean they are the TNA World Tag Team Champions and the best in the world, and these belts prove it. Sabin says they chose this match for a reason: it’s their world and what they do, and the only way Beer Money’s going to get the belts are to pry them from their cold dead fingers. Roode says let’s stop talking and just do it. Argh, we’re at commercial!

Okay, we’re back: the bell rings and we’re off. MCMG harass Beer Money with rapid fire moves in the ring, then toss Beer Money to the floor and hit stereo dives. They head back in the ring and Sabin goes for the X, but Beer Money makes it back in the ring and pull him down. Springboard dropkick sends Roode to the floor and a drop toehold/bulldog combo drops Storm, and Shelley gets a double submission on both of Beer Money while Sabin climbs again, but they escape. Now Shelley goes for the X but Roode pulls him down into an inverted atomic drop (ouch!) and then they catapult Shelley into a DDT. Storm says he’s been drinking and sends Roode up to go after the X, but the delay was enough for the MCMGs to come back with another fast paced series of moves that ends with Sabin hitting a delayed dropkick in the corner on both of Beer Money. Beer Money shifts the momentum when Roode suplexes Sabin and then pull Shelley down from the cables and kill him with a lungblower and double snap suplex. Beer Money with stereo clotheslines on Shelley in the corner and Storm puts him on top, but now Shelley gets an inverted atomic drop off the top and pulls Roode off the cables, then counters a throw attempt into a nasty spike piledriver that appears to have busted Roode open hardway. Shelley leaps over Storm into a double stomp on Roode, then goes back up to the cables. Storm yanks him down and hits the Air Raid Cutter just as Sabin gets back in the ring. Sabin climbs over Storm, but Storm climbs up after him so Sabin kicks at him and hits a top rope Frankensteiner off the cables, but then turns around right into a spinebuster from Roode. Roode’s the only man on his feet, so he pulls Storm up and has Storm come over so he can stand on his shoulders as he climbs out to the X, but the MCMGs recover, take Storm down, then yank Roode off the cables right onto Storm. Shelley takes Storm out to the apron and hits Sliced Bread #2 on the ring frame, and now it’s Roode and Sabin. Roode climbs above the cabe onto the scaffolding and tries to climb out that way with Sabin climbing underneath and Roode walking on the ropes, but Sabin kicks Roode off and he crotches himself on the ropes and falls into the ring, allowing Sabin to get the X for the win. Yeow, what a match!

    Winners: Motor City Machine Guns

That was awesome, and…oh wait, it’s Hulk Hogan, Eric Bischoff, and Miss Tessmacher, and they’re…WALKING!

We go to commercial and come back with Hogan, Bischoff, and Miss Tessmacher in the ring, and Bischoff wants to get right down to business with the Whole F’n Show right here on Impact. Abyss will be facing RVD in a Stairway To Janice Match, and Eric Bischoff is going to be the special referee. Also, the 5th and final match between Beer Money and the Motor City Machine Guns, Kurt Angle takes on AJ Styles, Angelina Love challenges Madison Rayne for the Knockouts Title, Jeff Hardy has an open challenge to anyone in the wrestling world, and Ken Anderson vs Matt Morgan vs The Pope. That is a HELL of a card that we’re getting for free. Kevin Nash’s music hits and he comes stalking out to the ring and he doesn’t look happy. He says he finally gets face to face with them, and once again his name isn’t mentioned. Hogan says Nash needs to open his eyes and see that they’ve all stepped back, and he needs to now too. Hogan actually says their time is over and it’s time for Jay Lethal, the MCMG, Beer Money, and others to step up and take us to the next century. There’s no more conning for paychecks and no more politics, those days are over. Nash is aghast that Hogan is talking to him about politics, but Bischoff says all Nash’s career has ever been has been politics. Nash asks if Bischoff has ever gotten to a point in his life where he meets someone he shouldn’t mess with, and says that person is him, then nails Bischoff. He goes to nail Hogan but Hogan starts firing back on him until Nash gets a low blow and begins pounding Hogan down in the corner. Nash goes to the floor and gets a chair, brings it in the ring, and goes to powerbomb Hogan on it. Bischoff tries to break it up but Nash shoves him off, then thinks better of it and picks up the chair and goes to hit Hogan with it, but now Jeff Jarrett runs in and goes after Nash. Jarrett goes to grab the chair and swing it at Nash, but Sting (wearing red Wolfpac facepaint) comes in and smacks the chair out of Jarrett’s hand with his bat, then nails Jarrett with the bat and tosses the chair to Nash, which he uses to nail Hogan. Is this the return of the Wolfpac? Fans, we’re outta time! Check back here…after this commercial!

We’re back, and Christy comes up to Nash and Sting backstage to try and find out what’s going on, but they just get up and walk away. Oh well, let’s go back to the ring instead…

    Orlando Jordan vs The Pope

Orlando opens the match by…sucking on his finger. For a very long time. Then he goes to wipe it on Pope, but Pope shoves him off, so instead Jordan shoots a duck under and a waistlock takedown. Pope reverses and Orlando tries to sit out, but Pope rides him and Orlando backs to the corner to break, but before he does he grinds on the Pope. Pope shoves him away, smacks the crap out of him, then rams him to the corner, but as the ref tries to force the break, Orlando suckerpunches him and drops several knees onto Pope and starts raining down knees. Suddenly, Eric Young comes running down the rampway and begins furiously collecting the Pope cash that fell from the ceiling during Pope’s entrance. Orlando gets distracted and tells Young to get lost, but turns around right into an inverted atomic drop and a backdrop, then hits the DDE for the win.

    Winner: The Pope

Matt Morgan runs in and bowls over Pope with a clothesline, but now here comes Anderson, who runs out with a chair and chases Morgan off. Morgan heads for the hills, so Anderson and Pope have an uncomfortable staredown instead. Anderson tosses the chair to the floor, but Overzealous Security Inc comes running out and start yelling at Anderson to get lost. Pope just walks off, but Anderson stares down OZI.

Backstage, Christy is with Ric Flair and points out that he will be disqualified if any member of Fortune interferes, and asks if he can beat Lethal by himself. Flair puts over how well dressed he is, then tells Lethal that tonight, he has to look eye to eye with Flair, the greatest of all time. He is a wrestling god, HIS wrestling god, and tonight, Lethal dies.

Let’s head back to the ring…

Streetfight: Jay Lethal vs Ric Flair

Flair is wearing one of his suits, and immediately goes to the eyes. He takes Lethal to the corner and chops away and then lowblows him. Flair goes to the floor and grabs a kendo stick and trash can from under the ring, but as he’s tossing all this stuff in the ring, Lethal dives under the ring on the other side and comes out behind Flair, who turns around just in time to eat a springboard dropkick. Lethal tears the jacket and shirt off and starts chopping Flair, stops to throw the shirt into the crowd, and goes back to chopping Flair. Lethal whips Flair across the ring and backdrops him, then grabs the kendo stick and blasts Flair over the head with it. Guess what? That’s right, Flair bladed. Lethal with more chops on Flair in the corner then he climbs up for the 10 punch count and Flair does the Flop. Douglas Williams comes out to ringside as Lethal nails Flair in the head with a cookie sheet and Flops again, so Lethal tears Flair’s pants apart, revealing his 80s techno underwear. Next, Lethal tears the belt off and starts whipping Flair with it and then tears his pants completely off as well as his socks. Flair tries a chop but Lethal responds with a chop of his own. Flair tries a trash can shot, but Lethal blocks and takes the can, which he then proceeds to bash Flair in the head with. Flair goes to the eyes and goes up top, but Lethal with another shot from the cookie tin to Flair, then he goes up and hits a top rope superplex and Flair is bleeding like mad. Lethal goes for the cover but Williams, predictably, pulls Lethal to the floor. Lethal nails him and goes for a top rope sunset flip, and pulls down Flair’s underwear, which gets blurred out. Williams nails Lethal with the X Division Title belt, and Flair goes for the cover, Lethal gets his foot on the ropes but Williams shoves it off and the ref counts to three.

    Winner: Ric Flair

Abyss and Raven are backstage, and they’re…WALKING! And they’re wrestling next!

Christy is backstage with Rob Van Dam and says that nobody wants to be in his shoes over the next week. She runs down his matches tonight, at the PPV on Sunday, and next week against Abyss. RVD says she makes him not want to be in his own boots, but here is how the World Champion takes this: one match at a time. Right now, he’s focused on tonight and he’s going to give the fans what they want to see, and after that, he’ll celebrate his victory and focus on this weekend at Hardcore Justice. Jerry Lynn walks in and says that’s great because he’s already focused on Hardcore Justice where they’ll tear it up one more time, then wishes RVD luck tonight.

    Main event time…

Abyss & Raven vs TNA World Champion Rob Van Dam & Tommy Dreamer

The brawl starts on the rampway and Raven powders out as RVD and Dreamer double team Abyss. Abyss fights free and tosses Dreamer into the ring to officially start the match, and RVD goes diving over the ropes onto Abyss and then Tommy suplexes RVD onto Abyss. Raven comes from behind and clips Tommy’s injured knee, and Abyss uses the opening to nail Dreamer and hit the running splash in the corner. Raven tags in, blows his nose on a rag, and rubs it in Tommy’s face then tosses him to the floor as Taz runs down the history between Dreamer and Raven. Abyss tags in as Tommy rolls back into the ring and Tommy tries firing some rights at Abyss, but Abyss nails him with a big right and slams him, then covers for 2. Abyss tries another corner charge but Tommy moves and makes the hot tag, and here comes RVD going to work on Raven with clothesline after clothesline and finally a superkick. Raven tries to ram him into the corner but RVD blocks and kicks Raven in the face then nails Rolling Thunder for 2. Abyss is in and he tries to chokeslam both babyfaces, but they fight him off and double clothesline Abyss to the floor. Dreamer with the DDT on Raven followed by RVD hitting the Five Star Notebook Splash for the win.

Winners: Rob Van Dam & Tommy Dreamer

Abyss rushes in the ring after the match and lays both men out. He picks RVD up and chokeslams him, then goes to do the same to Dreamer, but Stevie Richards comes running out and tries a Stevie Kick, but Abyss blocks and tosses him. Rhino runs in and beats Abyss down and goes for the Gore, but Abyss boots him in the face. Team 3D run in and bowl over Abyss with a double shoulderblock and go for 3D, but Raven is in with a chair and lays both the Dudleys out. Raven and Abyss celebrate, but the lights go out, and when they come back up, the Sandman is here! He lays out both Raven and Abyss with the cane and stands tall in the middle of the ring celebrating with the ECW guys. Mick Foley comes out with a few more ECW guys who are carrying a cooler and I guess they were ready to celebrate, but instead we go to a video package where all the ECW guys talk about their memories and thoughts looking back on ECW, as well as their thoughts on getting one last shot to do their thing. Finally, we run down the card for the Whole F’n Show next week, and we’re off the air.

Evan Bourne def. Zack Ryder (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Trading in his one-legged tights for a traditional pair of trunks, Zack Ryder looked like he was ready to take on a more focused attitude tonight. That was until he hopped up on the top rope and screamed, “Woo! Woo! Woo!” at the WWE Universe. Still, the Long Island Superstar’s serious talents couldn’t be denied as he battered Evan Bourne without mercy. But Ryder made the major mistake of underestimating his high-flying opponent. Sensing an opportunity, Bourne flipped Ryder off the top rope and then nailed a breathtaking Shooting Star Press for the win.

Curt Hawkins & Vance Archer def. The Dudebusters (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Two of SmackDown’s standout teams locked up tonight as the intense duo of Curt Hawkins & Vance Archer took on the cocky pair of Trent Barreta & Caylen Croft. With each team desperate to make an impact, the action in this bout was cutthroat and aggressive. But, in the end, it was Hawkins & Archer who scored the big victory. Satisfied with their success, the team then grabbed the microphone and let The Hart Dynasty know that they were coming for the Unified Tag Team Championships.

Women’s Champion Layla def. Tiffany (PHOTOS | WATCH)
“WWE Superstars” kicked off on a sexy note as the spunky Tiffany bounced her way to the ring to take on arrogant Women’s Champion Layla. With her “bestie” Michelle McCool watching from ringside, the flawless Diva brought her aggressive offense to the beautiful blonde, but Tiffany wasn’t going down without a fight. Coming close to pinning the Women’s Champion on multiple occasions, Tiffany impressed the WWE Universe, but ultimately fell to Layla after missing a high-risk maneuver.

Mickie James talks about leaving WWE, joining TNA

Mickie James talks about leaving WWE, joining TNA
Posted by Roscoe De Soto on 08/05/2010 at 04:05 PM

Former WWE Diva Mickie James was interviewed by Fanhouse.com this week and spoke about her music career, her WWE release and whether she’d work for TNA Wrestling again.

Here are some highlights of what she said about...

Her WWE Release: “It definitely was heartbreaking and it was out of the blue for me. It totally blindsided me and I didn’t see it coming. But, you know, hindsight is 20-20. Perhaps if I wasn’t so passionate … I don’t know, it’s one of those things that I think I would’ve never cut out on my own because I did love my job and I loved WWE and I loved my fans so much that I would’ve given anything. And I intended to be able to do both, to still wrestle 250 days out of the year and, in the meantime, if we’re in Savannah, Georgia, do the show that night and then maybe go to a bar and even if it’s like a little acoustic set, do a mini-acoustic set afterward and then hit the radio stations the next morning … I had this whole plan. So it kind of totally hit me out of left field, but maybe it was a blessing in disguise because now I can really concentrate on the music, and kind of cherry-pick when I’m gonna wrestle and what I’m gonna do and rebuild my plan of what I want to do and where I want to go.”

Her Music Career Being Her Top Priority: “Here’s the deal — I think that I’ve made my mark in the industry and I’ve made a legacy in the business, and granted there’s a lot more that I wanted to do, but it kind of fell short. So now it’s just a moving forward thing. I don’t think that anything that I could do in the industry right now on this level, in the wrestling industry, would ever compare to wrestling in front of 90,000 people. Unless it’s right and it’s the perfect thing, my focus is on the music. My heart and soul, that’s where I’m at right now, all my focus is on that.”

Working For TNA: “Well certainly I’ve entertained the thought and it’s one of those things … there has to be this beautiful marriage between the two. Obviously my music right now is in the forefront, and if there’s a way to be able to do it and still … you know, because TNA’s schedule is certainly less demanding, maybe what, 100 dates out of the year? Obviously it would give me a lot more time, but it would also give me that platform to be able to be there for my wrestling fans and hope that they would support me with my music.”

Update on the length of Samoa Joe's suspension
Posted by Corbin Nordhoff on 08/04/2010 at 04:18 PM

The word going around is that Samoa Joe's suspension from TNA was for one month.

F4WOnline.com reports that TNA sent out an internal memo right after the incident happened two weeks ago. So this means it didn't hit the internet until almost two to three weeks later.

Balls Mahoney is still expected to appear, despite recently being removed from TNA’s website. It’s expected Team 3D will face Balls and Axl Rotten since Team 3D teased using flaming tables.

The rest of the card is unknown and some of the ECW Originals still didn’t know what match they would be working in. It’s said that the PPV is still being booked but they do have several surprises planned.

Names confirmed: Rob Van Dam, Sabu, Raven, Tommy Dreamer, Rhino, Stevie Richards, Mick Foley, Team 3D, Al Snow, Simon Diamond, Axl Rotten, Johnny Swinger, 2 Cold Scorpio, Jerry Lynn and Sandman.

    Husky Harris def. Kaval
    Michael McGillicutty def. Lucky Cannon
Alex Riley def. “Showtime” Percy Watson
    The Miz def. Michael McGillicutty

LAREDO, Texas – With the NXT Poll less than 24 hours away, the NXT Rookies left the WWE Universe and the WWE Pros with a lasting impression. Some made an impact with their in-ring skills, while others were commended for their kissing abilities!

WWE Universe, return to WWE.com Wednesday at noon ET to vote in the latest NXT Poll. Which NXT Rookie do you think will be WWE’s next breakout star? Your vote counts for 50 percent!

The Miz def. Michael McGillicutty (PHOTOS | WATCH)
On a mission to prove he’s anything but a “mediocre” NXT Rookie, Michael McGillicutty faced WWE Pro The Miz in singles action. It was the United States Champion who dominated, however, showing no remorse or mercy toward the No. 1 ranked NXT Rookie. Despite a resurgence by McGillicutty toward the end of the match, it was The Miz who emerged victorious, hitting the NXT Rookie with the Skull Crushing Finale. No longer perfect, McGillicutty’s record dropped to 6-1.

Alex Riley def. “Showtime” Percy Watson (PHOTOS | WATCH)
In WWE.com’s recent NXT Rookie Confessionals, “Showtime” Percy Watson admitted the NXT Rookie he just can’t get along with is Alex Riley. (WATCH) Hoping to teach the Varsity Villain a lesson about respect, the always-entertaining Watson put up a strong fight. But it was the increasingly impressive Riley who scored the win after hitting “Showtime” with You’re Dismissed. No. 3 ranked Riley’s record moved up to 3-2, while No. 4 ranked Watson’s dropped to 2-4.

Michael McGillicutty def. Lucky Cannon (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Lucky Cannon and Michael McGillicutty – two NXT Rookies having scores to settle with The Miz – competed for the chance to face the WWE Pro. Recently, the United States Champion brutally threw Cannon into the Money in the Bank briefcase with the Skull Crushing Finale, and called McGillicutty a “mediocre” NXT Rookie. Yet it was McGillicutty who maintained his perfect record, quickly defeating Cannon with the McGillicutter for the opportunity to face The Miz in the main event. The No. 1 ranked McGillicutty improved his already flawless record to 6-0, while No. 5 ranked Cannon wasn’t so lucky, moving to 2-5.

Husky Harris def. Kaval (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Husky Harris continued to bulldoze through his competition on WWE NXT, defeating fellow NXT Rookie, Kaval, for the second time in as many weeks. The “Army tank with the Ferrari engine” lived up to his nickname, dominating a normally quick Kaval, then pinning him after a thunderous running senton. No. 6 ranked Harris’ proud WWE Pro, Cody Rhodes, congratulated his NXT Rookie following the match. Harris’ hot streak brought his record up to 4-2, while No. 2 ranked Kaval fell to the bottom of the pack in terms of win-loss records at 1-5.

Lucky Cannon wins the NXT Rookie Challenge (PHOTOS | WATCH)
The final six puckered up for an exciting, new NXT Rookie Challenge Tuesday night – a kissing contest. WWE Pros Lay-Cool wanted to see which NXT Rookie was the best kisser, though the competitors – to their chagrin – weren’t kissing the “co-Women’s Champions.” Instead, Laredo’s not-so-“Flawless” 1993 Homecoming Queen, Margarita, was the judge, and despite a strong effort by Alex Riley, she chose Lucky Cannon as the winner. Cannon didn’t earn a special prize for winning the kissing contest, though he undoubtedly made an impression – albeit positive or negative – on the WWE Universe and WWE Pros.

Former WCW performer Scott "Flash" Norton suggested to TNA president Dixie Carter last week on Twitter that she bring him in as her bodyguard.

The former New World Order member wrote, "I really think you need a bodyguard & that I would be the perfect candidate 4 the job!"

Norton, who is now 52 years old and resides in Nashville, does not consider himself retired. He is currently accepting booking requests for independent gigs through his Facebook page.

How supportive has Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff been about the ECW revival in TNA/the concept of the Hardcore Justice Pay-Per-View and the Hardcore Originals getting "the rub" from "The Hulkster" in the ring on last Thursday night's Impact: "I was at WrestleMania with my dad. I was at WrestleMania II. For anyone to say anything about Hulk Hogan, he walks slowly and has a bit of a limp from all the surgeries. He has given so much to this business. To be in the ring with him, and the fan in me and the kid in me, they kept showing me and D-Von, and we were flexing, almost doing the Hulk Hogan pose as Hulk was coming to the ring.

"In regards to Dixie Carter giving us her 100 percent blessing, I don't really know the guys' personal feelings towards it, but I don't think if Hulk Hogan didn't like what he saw, I don't think he would be out there. He has that stroke to say 'No, I don't wanna do something.' I don't know Eric Bischoff's personal feelings towards it. Obviously, they are going forward and giving whatever Pay-Per-View matches they were gonna do for Hard Justice; they are gonna do the following Thursday, which is great."

The Paul Heyman/TNA rumors and the "invitation" being extended to Paul for this Sunday night's Pay-Per-View: "I have spoken to Paul, and there is an invitation out there. I would love for him to be there, but I understand if he's not. He's also doing stuff for Brock Lesnar. Paul is Paul, and if he does come in, I think he could definitely help. If he doesn't, the business moves on without him. He's very, very talented, and I think it would be cool to get people to drink his Kool-Aid again. If he does come to terms, I think it would be a good deal for Paul, and hopefully it would be a good deal for TNA as well."

His thoughts on the refusal of several former ECW stars (such as "The Franchise" Shane Douglas, Mikey Whipwreck, and Lance Storm) choosing not to appear at Hardcore Justice: "Number one, there are only so many matches that you can truly have. I also don't wanna throw a bunch of people into Battle Royals just for the sake of throwing people into the show. Yes, I did reach out to Lance Storm, and he said 'Thanks for thinking of me, but I had my closure in 2005, and it was the perfect scenario for me.'

"He had some personal issues with TNA, but that didn't affect our friendship. Mikey Whipwreck has some serious health issues, and talking to Mikey he said 'Hey, when I sneeze, my fingers go numb, and I gotta get my neck worked on.' He also did not want to go out there and embarrass himself, and to me, if you can't go out to that ring, you shouldn't go out there anymore. If you're there, you're there. If you're not there, I respect that."

His reaction to the critics who think this PPV is being done to only make money for TNA and those that feel that the ECW legacy is being bastardized/prostituted yet again and the response he has received from World Wrestling Entertainment (including his long-time friends and colleagues who still work there): "I've gotten so many texts and phone calls from people who do work in the WWE congratulating me and wishing me tons of success. This was never about bashing the WWE, or we're better...that's not the case. My plan was to create a buzz for TNA. I've done that, and created some ratings for TNA, and we've done that too. After this, my goal is to help all that in TNA. I do have a different perspective, not saying that it's 100% right, but these are ways I could prove to other people that if this is a success, that we are on the right track here. Bastardizing it and all that stuff, no.

"Bottom line, this is a television show. If you don't like it, you don't have to watch it. Everything I have tried to do in my short time I've been in TNA, and trust me when I tell you: this is for TNA and for the future of this business. I wish I could have Joey Styles call the Pay-Per-View, but I can't, because he's under contract. If Chris Jericho was available, I would have Chris Jericho vs. Rey Mysterio, but I can't. The surprises I have in store I hope are good surprises for people, and I look at this as a celebration of guys who are getting another shot, and you'll never see us together again."

What can the fans can expect from him in TNA (both inside the squared circle and/or behind the scenes) after his "Final Showdown" with Raven at HardCORE Justice: "My goal is to contribute to TNA in any role given to me and to continue to contribute in the wrestling business that I love so much. I have a list of men and women that I have seen on the indies that are television ready, and I have a list of people that should go to a developmental system that I've seen them work live, and if I have the opportunity to introduce these new people to the world, I would love to do that.

"It's going out there and having to wrestle AJ Styles, finding a partner and wrestling Beer Money, wrestling Samoa Joe, or helping with a promo in the background behind the scenes, or helping on creative. Giving my experiences that I learned to show what I feel to help you take it to the next level. Just continue to contribute to the TNA product, as well as contribute to the business that I love."

Dreamer talks to Heyman about Hardcore Justice

Dreamer talks to Heyman about Hardcore Justice

    Credit: prowrestling.net

During an appearance on the "Busted Open" radio show earlier today, Tommy Dreamer stated he has spoken with Paul Heyman about having a role on the upcoming ECW-themed TNA Hardcore Justice PPV this Sunday in Orlando. Dreamer stated Heyman has interests in doing his own thing at the moment, but hoped he would be there. He also wished appearances could be made by Joey Styles and Rey Mysterio, but how both can't due to their contracts with WWE.

Dreamer added, "If Paul wants to be there, Paul will be there. And if Paul's not going to be there, it's not on Paul. That's cool. Yes, I have spoken to him. I have expressed that I wished he was there. He's doing his deal. I hope he shows up. You never what mysteries and surprises we will have in store. Trust me, I have a few already."

    Flair turns down PPV match?

    - TNA wanted to do a Ric Flair vs. Shane Douglas match for the Hardcore Justice PPV to play off a beef the two had years ago. Flair reportedly didn’t want to do the match. Douglas recently told Fanhouse writer Brian Fritz that he turned down TNA’s offer for the PPV.

    WWE Champion Sheamus def. Goldust
    John Cena def. Chris Jericho
The Great Khali def. Ted DiBiase
Randy Orton def. United States Champion The Miz in a Non-title Match

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – It’s the dog days of summer, and with SummerSlam just two weeks away, the Raw roster certainly seems to be feeling the heat. While WWE Champion Sheamus tries to escape the glare of his cold-blooded competitor, Randy Orton, Team WWE continues to tear themselves apart.

Randy Orton def. United States Champion The Miz in a Non-Title Match (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Randy Orton ruined everything – at least according to The Miz. The United States Champion complained before their match that he would also hold the WWE Title, if not for that meddling Viper, who RKO’d him last week before he could cash in his Money in the Bank contract on a dazed WWE Champion Sheamus.

During their bout, with The Celtic Warrior scouting from ringside, Miz offered a convincing case for himself to reign as WWE Champion. However, it was The Viper who would eventually outmaneuver Mr. Money in the Bank to score yet another victory on the path to his WWE Title Match at SummerSlam.

After his win, Orton appeared confident – perhaps overly so. He even dared Sheamus to enter the ring with him, but the Irishman begged off, possibly still smarting from an RKO he received after gunning for his cold-blooded adversary the previous week. Or perhaps the Irishman is simply biding his time until he can skin the snake once and for all.

The Great Khali def. Ted DiBiase (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Earlier in the evening, Michael Tarver and David Otunga had informed The Great Khali that Ted DiBiase was attempting to replace him and buy his way onto Team WWE. The pair even tried to convince Khali to join The Nexus. While the charm offensive failed, a seed was nonetheless planted.

Hoping to water that seed, Wade Barrett and Skip Sheffield perched themselves ringside as Khali faced off against DiBiase. When it appeared The “Fortunate Son” had opened a window of opportunity, Barrett and Sheffield slammed it shut, distracting DiBiase. The ploy allowed The Punjabi Playboy to capitalize for the win. While he basked in the glow of victory, Khali even appeared appreciative of The Nexus’ ongoing efforts, which may signal further trouble for Team WWE at SummerSlam.

John Cena & Bret Hart to face Chris Jericho & Edge
In the wake of the further implosion of Team WWE, Raw’s anonymous GM arranged a tag team match for the following Monday, pitting John Cena & WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart against their former SummerSlam teammates Chris Jericho & Edge, who appear to have reconnected over their mutual disdain for Cena, The Nexus and the WWE Universe. Oh, and if the tension wasn’t high enough, all seven members of The Nexus will encircle the ring to act as lumberjacks!

John Cena def. Chris Jericho (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Apparently, Chris Jericho wasn’t really all that interested in leading Team WWE after all. Why else would he tap out the second John Cena locked him into an STF during their Loser Leaves SummerSlam Team Match? For the self-important Superstar, being free from Cena appeared more important than winning. To his credit, Cena offered to forget the entire episode in an effort to rebuild Team WWE. Selfish as ever, though, Jericho rejected the olive branch and abandoned his teammates.

WWE Champion Sheamus def. Goldust (PHOTOS | WATCH)
What a difference a year makes. In 2009, Goldust peppered Sheamus with aggression and skill when the two were in ECW. In their match tonight, however, the WWE Champion won easily, asserting his dominance – and then some. After the win, the Irishman ranted about having ended Triple H’s career and then proceeded to threaten to do the same to his SummerSlam foe, Randy Orton.

Divas Champion Alicia Fox, Jillian & Tamina def. Eve, Gail Kim & Natalya; Melina returned and attacked Alicia (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Alicia Fox’s hot streak just ran headlong into cold, harsh reality. The Divas Champ had teamed with Jillian & Tamina to face Eve, Gail Kim & Natalya. After watching Tamina save her bacon, Alicia seized the baton and took credit for her team’s win. Her selfish exploits backfired, though, when a returning Diva paid a visit: Melina! The brunette beauty attacked Alicia, sending the message that she’s back and hungry. And when the Divas Champ tried to escape Melina, her fellow Divas forced her back in, where the striking Latina punished her and, undoubtedly, sent a chill up her spine.

Edge quit Team WWE; Chris Jericho challenged John Cena
An inconsolable Edge confronted John Cena in the locker room area after The Nexus cornered him during his loss to Wade Barrett. During the war of words, The Ultimate Opportunist quit Team WWE, complaining to Cena that his teammates did not involve themselves in his match. This, after he had previously insisted that his teammates not involve themselves. Yeah, you read that correctly.

Still reeling from Edge’s abrupt departure, Cena was then confronted by Chris Jericho. The self-important Superstar demanded that the two face each other later in the night, with the loser leaving Team WWE. Despite his protestations, Cena reluctantly agreed.

Wade Barrett vs. Edge ended in a No Contest (PHOTOS | WATCH)
After Team WWE cracked under the strains of infighting last week, Edge felt compelled to voice his frustration. He went rogue, belittling his SummerSlam team and challenging Wade Barrett to a singles match. Before the leader of The Nexus could respond, Edge’s SummerSlam teammate R-Truth tried to talk sense into him, emphasizing the need for unity. Raw’s anonymous General Manager interrupted Truth, however, and quickly granted The Rated-R Superstar’s request.

During the bout, Edge nearly scored a pinfall on Barrett, who immediately signaled for his Nexus comrades. Slinking toward the ring, the remaining Nexus members closed in on The Rated-R Superstar, who leaped a security barrier, scampered off into the crowd.

Rumor regarding WWE getting a new logo
Posted by Roscoe De Soto on 07/31/2010 at 09:07 PM

A member of the WWE Universe site posted earlier today that the WWE would be getting a new logo. He claimed that he knew this because of a friend of his who works in production with WWE. He posted photos of himself with numerous WWE wrestlers and backstage at WWE events to try and prove his story. The post has since been removed from the WWE Universe site.

Is it real or is it fake? You decide:
