I'm going to get right into things as we are getting closer and closer to HardCORE Justice.

    Opener

Show opens with Tommy Dreamer, Mick Foley, Raven, Stevie Richards, Rhyno, and Brother D-Von are in the ring. Dreamer immediately states that due to ECW being owned by someone else, the group is to be known as EV 2.0. Dreamer addresses D-Von to inquire about Brother Ray's absence. Ray calls his brother to the ring.

D-Von wants to know if Ray is in or out. Dreamer reaches out to Ray to join them for one last night. Foley says that with or without Ray, the show will go on but it would be greater with Ray's involvement. Taz stands up from the announce desk and tells Bubba to do it. Ray gets into the ring and has just one question, "Are we going to light somebody on fire?" The brothers hug after Ray decides to join up.

Hulk Hogan's music hits and the icon comes to join the guys of EV 2.0. He welcomes them to TNA. Hogan says that while ECW was doing their thing in the 90's he was busy wearing black (nWo reference) and he missed it but now he'll get a chance to see them. Abyss (and "Janice") show up atop the ramp. "They" are apparently not happy. The reunion wasn't a part of "their" plan and the person who's to blame for this Dixie Carter. Hogan tells Abyss to go talk to a shrink because no one is putting a hand on Dreamer until the PPV. Abyss doesn't care and Dreamer will be taken out tonight. Dreamer is willing to fight Abyss tonight.

    Backstage Segment

Lacey and Velvet Sky are talking in the locker room until Madison Rayne enters. Rayne is ready to squash things as the trio has been running the Knockouts division for months. Sky is upset that Rayne invited a fourth member to the group who is still unknown to the other two girls. She is still upset that Rayne said she didn't need them. Rayne is asking for a truce and after some prodding, Sky accepts and the ladies hug it out.

Match #1: Sarita vs. Angelina Love

Love and Sarita are doing quick takedowns and going for quick pins early on. During the match, the announcers inform us that the Dreamer/Abyss match is a weapons match. Sarita is able to roll through a roll up attempt from Love and deliver a clothesline. Back suplex from Sarita but she dances around before going for the pin attempt. Angelina hits a spear from out of the corner and builds momentum hitting a jumping elbow and then a flying clothesline. Botox Injection kick and Love gets the victory.

    Winner: Angelina Love via pinfall

Eric Young and Orlando Jordan are backstage. Young is apparently messed up on rum candy and Jordan is trying to get him to act normal. Seems we have a new tag team.

After commercials, we get a video from two weeks ago from Xplosion that shows Eric Young falling and hitting his head after a kick from Suicide that explains his new behavior.

Match #2: Ink Inc. vs. Orlando Jordan and Eric Young

Jordan sticks his gum in the mouth of So Cal Val and Eric Young brings out a mannequin with a boa and puts it on the apron. Jesse Neal eats an elbow from OJ and he is keeping the spiked-hair one grounded. Neckbreaker from Jordan. Neal hits a jawbreaker on Jordan after a brief interference from Moore. Jordan tries to tag Young but tags the dummy instead. Young climbs to the top and throws the dummy at Ink Inc. Jordan turns his back as he addresses Young. Ink Inc. dropkicked Jordan into Young. Neal puts Jordan up on his shoulder and Moore hits a neckbreaker from the top rope.

    Winner: Ink Inc. via pinfall

    In-Ring Segment

Ric Flair, AJ Styles, Kazarian, and Beer Money are in the ring. Flair tells Jay Lethal that he has a clause in his contract that he has a rematch for all his matches. Next week, Lethal and Flair squares off in a street fight. Beer Money is not surprised that they are apart of Fortune, as the greatest faction would have to include the greatest tag team in the world. They are on their way to be four-time tag champs. Kaz says they aren't angry rookies (Nexus diss) and they are the best wrestlers in the TNA Galaxy (WWE Universe diss). Styles plans on giving credibility to the title he has on his shoulder. The belt is no longer the Global Championship, it is now the TV Title. He will honor the title at all shows.

Kurt Angle is glad that Styles will honor the title. Angle reminds Styles is next in line for Angle's quest to the top.

Match #3: Beer Money vs. Motor City Machine Guns - Steel Cage match (Best of Five series, match #3)

The Guns climb over the cage behind BMI and leap off the ropes to get a quick jump on their opponents. Storm and Roode are sent face-first into the cage. Dream Sequence from the Guns. Roode is already bleeding. Storm is able to stop the momentum and BMI begin working on Alex Shelley. Roode tries for a superplex but Shelley stops it and hits a hurricanrana. A dropkick from Sabin that takes out both opponents. All four men in the ring. Roode clotheslines Sabin who flips. Shelley slams Roode's face into the cage and delivers a double foot stomp from the top rope. MCMG hit some quick offense to Storm but the Storm hits a F-5 like move to get back in control. Sabin gets a powerbomb/back cracker combination but Sabin kicks out. Sabin climbs to the top as Shelley stops BMI from climbing out. Sabin leaps off the top and takes out both men of Beer Money. Storm gets the beer bottle from the corner but hits Roode instead. Shelley hits a crossbody from the top as Sabin delivers a neckbreaker.

Winner: Motor City Machine Guns via pinfall

    In-Ring Segment

Mr. Anderson's music is playing but Matt Morgan comes out instead. Morgan is in the ring and wants the microphone to be lowered but it doesn't. Morgan is yelling at whoever lowers the mic and tries again. The mic comes down slowly. He mocks Anderson's introduction including the repetition of the name. The real Anderson is then out atop the ramp. The mic lowers right away for him. To show Morgan how easy it is, Anderson has the mic lowered again. Anderson wants to come closer and gets into the ring. Morgan is taunting Anderson to punch him and Anderson punches him in the lower regions. Anderson punches Morgan in the head a few times and then starts mocking him. Morgan puts a thumb to Anderson's eye and then beats down Anderson. The microphone's cord is used to choke Anderson until Jeff Hardy makes the save. Hardy and Anderson double-team Morgan until two security officials hit the ring and are acting really un-security like with the tossing around of Hardy and Anderson. The security are actually fighting with Anderson and Hardy until D'Lo Brown, Al Snow, and Pat Kenney hit the ring and D'Lo admonishes them.

Anderson and Hardy are backstage and Christy Hemme wants to know what happened out there. Anderson says that the two security men have always wanted to be wrestlers but had to settle for TV security. Now they have a match against Anderson and Hardy and they should bring Morgan with them.

Match #4: Kazarian vs. Rob Terry

The ref sends AJ Styles to the back. Kaz dropkicks Terry in the back before the bell sounds. Another dropkick but Terry isn't falling. Kaz flies at Terry but Terry catches him and delivers the Freak Buster.

    Winner: Rob Terry via pinfall

Opinion: The match wasn't even a minute long. Rating: 1/4*

Match #5: Murphy, Gunner, and Matt Morgan vs. Mr. Anderson and Jeff Hardy

From the tweets I'm seeing, it seems that Murphy and Gunner are two men who are friends of the Hardys. Morgan tagged himself in as the match started and wants Anderson. Jeff makes that happen. Morgan tags Murphy in and Murphy doesn't waste much time before he tags Gunner. Swinging neckbreaker from Anderson. Anderson allows Jeff to launch off his back but Murphy clotheslines Hardy in mid-air. Whisper in the Wind from Hardy and he gets a nearfall. Anderson is grabbed by the head and it allows the heels to get in control. Morgan heads to the back. Anderson is able to hit the Mic Check and Hardy hits the Swanton Bomb.

Winner: Mr. Anderson and Jeff Hardy via pinfall

Hogan tells Christy that next week he has some huge news that we're going to love.

    In-Ring Segment

Eric Bischoff is with Ms. Tessmacher. On Aug. 12th, we are going to get to see something we've never seen before thanks to Dixie inspiring him. We're going to get PPV-quality action on iMPACT!. Abyss' music hits the ring. He just got done talking to "them" and "they" want him to make the main event for Aug. 12th. He wants to hang "Janice" hanging above the ring and have a ladder match. Bischoff agrees to the match to prevent Abyss from attacking him. Abyss states "Janice" wants him to return the favor for Bischoff's slap a few weeks ago but RVD's music hits and he storm the ring. A chair is thrown at Abyss and then RVD is able to take the Abyss into the corner. Van Daminator from RVD.

Abyss rolls to the outside. RVD tries to jump at Abyss but Abyss moves and he crashes into the guardrail. Abyss is looking at Dixie, who has backed up into the audience. D'Lo, Snow, and Kenney are out with chairs to stop Abyss. Before we go to commercial, Dreamer heads out for the match and he's given "Janice".

Main Event: Tommy Dreamer vs. Abyss

We return and the match is already underway. Abyss gets a garbage can lid to the back. Abyss lifts him up and drops him unceremoniously across the guardrail. Back suplex from Abyss to Dreamer unto a garbage can. Abyss is ready for a kendo stick shot but Dreamer avoids it. Dreamer hits a crossbody and then a clothesline. Abyss returns the favor by sending Dreamer into a chair that was wedged in the corner. Abyss goes up to the top but Dreamer crotches him. Abyss is flipped upside-down and Dreamer hits a dropkick into a garbage can that crashes into Abyss' face. Dreamer goes under the ring and pulls out a barbed-wire plank. A DDT to the plank is avoided by Abyss and Dreamer gets clotheslined. Abyss goes and gets "Janice". Abyss swings but Dreamer avoids it. A quick roll up gets Dreamer a two count. Dreamer sets up "Janice" in the corner and Irish whips Abyss towards it. Abyss stops himself. Dreamer has a garbage can but Abyss punches it and then chokeslams Dreamer on the barbed wire.

    Winner: Abyss via pinfall

Abyss gets "Janice" but Raven comes out with a chair. It looks like Raven is about to attack Abyss but he strikes Dreamer with the chair. DDT to the chair and then Raven licks Dreamer across the face.

Former WWE Diva admits to using steroids

Former WWE Diva admits to using steroids
Posted by Roscoe De Soto on 07/26/2010 at 05:49 PM

Dawn Marie Damatta, who performed for WWE from 2002 to 2005, admitted to the Connecticut Post that she used steroids during the course of her tenure in the organization.

“I chose to take that shortcut,” the former WWE Diva said. “Did Vince (McMahon) tell me to take that shortcut? No. Did WWE? No. Why did I do it? Because I thought that’s what I needed to do in order to keep up … There was no testing policy.”

Damatta feels one only needs to take a look at the physiques of present day WWE talent to know that steroid use is not as prevalent as it was in the past. She also believes the company’s drug testing policy has reduced the abuse of drugs such as painkillers, therefore saving lives. However, she feels Linda and Vince McMahon could do more to assist former talent.

“Wrestlers are taken as children, thrown into this industry and then we’re dumped back out as adults. There’s no learning in the world. We’re on the road, traveling, hustling, getting beat up,” Damatta said. “Where do I go? What do I put on a resume?”

Several released WWE stars now free to join TNA
Posted by Roscoe De Soto on 07/25/2010 at 01:21 PM

Seven wrestlers released by WWE on April 22th, 2010 are now free to join TNA Wrestling (or any wrestling promotion for that matter) as their respective 90-day no-compete clauses have expired. Among those let go that fateful day were Mickie James, Shelton Benjamin, Katie Lea Burchill, Jimmy Wang Yang, Slam Master J, Kung Fu Naki and Mike Knox.

The contractual clause was put in place to prohibit wrestlers from immediately competing with nationally televised promotions following their release.

    Homicide injured

    Credit: F4WOnline.com

    - Homicide is out of action with a groin pull and is trying to rehab the injury. Homicide doesn’t want to have surgery because he would have to pay for it out of his own money since TNA doesn’t cover things like that. When Hernandez had his neck surgery, TNA loaned him the money but took a percentage of his paycheck each week to pay back the costs.

    News on TNA's ECW group

    News on TNA's ECW group

    Credit: F4WOnline.com

    - "EV2.0" or "Extreme Version 2.0" will be the new name for TNA's version of ECW. The name was an Eric Bischoff idea. Apparently, Tommy Dreamer tried to get fans to chant the new name at the TNA Impact taping on Monday night but things didn't work out too well. The idea is that TNA doesn't want fans chanting the "ECW" initials in case WWE decides to take legal action against them.

    - In regards to WWE taking legal action against TNA, the word is WWE probably won't do anything if there is even a chance that they could lose a fight in court. TNA is allowed to use the name "ECW" in a past tense as long as they don't promote their PPV as an ECW event.

Divas Champion Alicia Fox def. Brie Bella
    Ted DiBiase def. John Morrison
WWE Champion Sheamus & United States Champion The Miz def. John Cena & Chris Jericho

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - It’s often said that everything is bigger in Texas. Well, if you’re John Cena, that’s certainly proven true. As he and his seven-man SummerSlam squad move closer to the biggest bash of the season, the troubles, the tribulations and the headaches have all grown as large as the Lonestar State.

WWE Champion Sheamus & United States Champion The Miz def. John Cena & Chris Jericho (PHOTOS | WATCH)
At the rate they’re disintegrating, it’ll be miraculous if Team WWE, led by John Cena, even make it to their 7-on-7 Elimination Tag Team Match at SummerSlam. During a tag bout pitting Cena & Chris Jericho against WWE Champion Sheamus & United States Champion The Miz, Cena and Jericho’s partnership descended into squabbling. The self-important Superstar turned on his partner, hobbling Cena with a Codebreaker, allowing The Miz the pin. Mr. Vocabulary then tried to lock in The Walls of Jericho, but Cena reversed the maneuver and squeezed Jericho into an STF.

Not long afterward, the remainder of Team WWE made their way to the ring, including Edge, The Great Khali, R-Truth and John Morrison. When Khali attempted to make peace between Jericho and Cena, Edge leveled him with a Spear. The rest of the squad continued the back-biting and vicious attacks, calling into question whether or not the tenuous team will rise to the challenge of The Nexus or fall into disarray.

Ted DiBiase def. John Morrison (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Let’s face it, it’s pretty easy to despise Ted DiBiase. Not only does The “Fortunate Son” have good looks, heaps of cash and a gorgeous Diva on his arm, he also still manages to squeak out victories. This week, he faced John Morrison, who gave him a run for his plentiful money.

When DiBiase’s “protector” Maryse attempted to interfere with the match, Morrison’s pal and SummerSlam teammate R-Truth tried to assist. The help backfired, though, and cost The Shaman of Sexy the match. In the wake of the loss, Morrison verbally lashed out at Truth, offering further evidence that Raw’s seven-man SummerSlam squad may be in danger of unraveling.

Divas Champion Alicia Fox def. Brie Bella (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Divas Champion Alicia Fox continues to flutter above the competition. This week, she faced down Brie Bella. During the bout, Alicia managed to foil The Bellas "Twin Magic" maneuver and notch the victory. In the mood to celebrate, Jillian, who had accompanied Alicia to the ring, began to belt out a stomach-turning tune. In no mood to hear it, though, Alicia dropped the tone-deaf Diva to the mat.

The Nexus def. Mark Henry, Evan Bourne, David Hart Smith, Tyson Kidd, Yoshi Tatsu, Jerry Lawler & Goldust in a 7-on-7 Elimination Match (PHOTOS | WATCH)
The Nexus looked like they were in seven Heaven. In a possible preview of their 7-on-7 Elimination Match at SummerSlam, the “N”-labeled squad thoroughly dominated a select group of Raw Superstars in the same match. The seven deadly sinners of Nexus used teamwork like a sledgehammer to crush their opponents, who included native Texan Mark Henry, Evan Bourne, David Hart Smith, Tyson Kidd, Yoshi Tatsu, Jerry “The King” Lawler & Goldust. After tossing out all seven opponents and having no one from The Nexus ejected, Wade Barrett and Michael Tarver taunted their SummerSlam foes, pointing out that the team assembled by Cena would never get on the same page due to their inflated egos.

The Great Khali def. Edge by Count-out (PHOTOS | WATCH)
The fabric of the squad assembled to combat The Nexus continued to fray. After overhearing Edge complain about his inclusion in the group, The Great Khali challenged his potential teammate to a match. During the bout, The Nexus sauntered to the ring, prompting The Ultimate Opportunist to flee the squared circle. While Khali may have won by count-out, his situation looked precarious when The Nexus surrounded him. Rather than pummel The Punjabi Playboy, though, the group allowed him to go free.

Randy Orton def. Jey Uso; The Miz attempted to cash in Money in the Bank contract (PHOTOS | WATCH)
For Jey Uso, facing and defeating Randy Orton would have propelled him near the top of the WWE totem pole. The Viper, however, wasn’t about to offer up his scalp so easily. Instead, Orton made convincing work of Uso as his brother Jimmy and Tamina looked on. After the victory, Orton dared WWE Champion Sheamus, who was also observing at ringside, to tangle with him.

Before the two could engage, Jimmy attacked Orton. Sensing an opportunity, the Irishman tried to kick his SummerSlam foe, but his errant boot ended up leveling Jimmy instead. At that point, The Viper deftly flattened The Celtic Warrior with an RKO.

The scent of vulnerability lured out United States Champion The Miz, who’s been bird-dogging Sheamus ever since capturing the Money in the Bank briefcase. Before Miz could cash in the briefcase, though, Orton slipped into the ring and also dropped Mr. Money in the Bank with an RKO.

Chris Jericho confronted John Cena; Raw GM made several announcements (PHOTOS)
Chris Jericho bickering was probably inevitable. Last week, John Cena revealed that he would team up with Jericho, Edge, John Morrison, R-Truth, The Great Khali & WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart to battle The Nexus at SummerSlam. This week, Jericho started in with the whining. The self-important Superstar interrupted Cena and began protesting that he should be appointed head of the assembled squad. Mercifully, Cena halted the rant by knocking the microphone from Mr. Vocabulary’s hand.

Before tensions could bubble over, however, Raw’s anonymous General Manager interrupted. Through announcer Michael Cole, the mystery GM put forth three important declarations. First, the SummerSlam battle between Team WWE and The Nexus would now be a 7-on-7 Elimination Match. Secondly, The Nexus would put their unity to the test in the night’s main event, in which they face select members of the Raw roster in just such a bout. And lastly, Cena and Jericho would test their cohesion in a tag team match against two Raw Superstars.

Rey Mysterio def. Jack Swagger (No. 1 Contender's 2-out-of-3 Falls Match)

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – In a stunning turn of events, Kane walked out of the Money in the Bank pay-per-view with the World Heavyweight Championship (full coverage). And as his Big Red curtain descended over SmackDown, an injured Rey Mysterio heroically outfought Jack Swagger, capturing the right to face the monstrous champion at SummerSlam.

Rey Mysterio def. Jack Swagger in a No. 1 Contender’s Match (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Despite the overwhelming pain of his ankle injury, Rey Mysterio took on the ruthless Jack Swagger in a 2-out-of-3 Falls Match to determine who would face new World Heavyweight Champion Kane at SummerSlam.

When Swagger refused to release his ankle lock on The Master of the 619 in the first part of their epic showdown, the official disqualified him, awarding the first fall to the masked Superstar. But, the damage had clearly been done.

Shortly after the second part of the match began, Mysterio attempted the 619.  However, “The All-American American” caught his opponent at the last second and made him tap-out to his second ankle lock of the night.

After Swagger punished Rey in the third part of the match, he attempted to end things with the Gutwrench Powerbomb. Powered by his unrelenting heart, The Ultimate Underdog escaped the maneuver, using his adversary’s weight against him to score the third and final pinfall and win an opportunity to face Kane at SummerSlam. (Match preview)

When Swagger tried to punish Mysterio with an excruciating post-match ankle lock, Kane emerged to chokeslam the ruthless aggressor out of action. He then raised Mysterio’s hand and appeared to make his exit. However, when he suddenly returned to send a volatile message to his new No. 1 contender, Rey Mysterio turned the tables on him, hitting the 619 on the frightening World Champion.

Big Show def. Joey Mercury (PHOTOS | WATCH)
The Straight Edge Society wanted revenge on Big Show for ripping CM Punk’s mask off one week ago. Although the gigantic Superstar was scheduled to face Luke Gallows, CM Punk changed things up at the last minute, ordering that his S.E.S. “Mystery Man” face Big Show instead. After punishing Punk’s unidentified disciple, Big Show unmasked him, revealing former Tag Team Champion, Joey Mercury! The World’s Largest Athlete then finished off his outmatched adversary with the knockout punch.

Dolph Ziggler def. Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston in a Non-Title Match (PHOTOS | WATCH)
After Kofi Kingston was sent flying out of the ring during his match with Dolph Ziggler, SmackDown Special Consultant Vickie Guerrero ordered his NXT Rookie, Michael McGillicutty, to leave ringside for checking to see if his WWE Pro was all right. Guerrero’s eventual interference allowed Ziggler to gain the advantage over the Intercontinental Champion, leading to a victorious sleeper hold by the bleach blond Superstar.

Drew McIntyre & “Dashing” Cody Rhodes def. Matt Hardy & Christian (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Battered and bruised, four of SmackDown’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match combatants regrouped to lock horns in tag team action. But, when things spun out of control, Matt Hardy accidently connected with his partner, Christian. As Captain Charisma fell out of the ring, the confusion allowed Drew McIntyre to hit a devastating boot to the face on Hardy for the win.

World Heavyweight Champion Kane justified Cashing in the Money in the Bank on Rey Mysterio (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Last Sunday, at the innovative new pay-per-view Money in the Bank (full coverage), Kane turned WWE upside-down – winning the SmackDown Money in the Bank briefcase and then cashing in his contract on the same night to defeat a war-torn World Champion Rey Mysterio.

Upon returning to Friday night, the new champion informed the WWE Universe that everything he did, he did for his fallen brother, The Undertaker. Vowing that no one would ever take the “holy grail” from around his waist, Kane reaffirmed his merciless search for The Phenom’s Memorial Day attacker.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The second season two NXT Rookie was eliminated when the results of the latest NXT Poll were revealed, causing plenty of contention between the final six competitors on WWE NXT.

    Eli Cottonwood was eliminated (PHOTOS)
The results of the NXT Poll were revealed, and after the votes of the WWE Universe and the WWE Pros were combined, Eli Cottonwood was eliminated. Meanwhile, the immune Michael McGillicutty, who still boasts a perfect record, ousted Kaval for the No. 1 spot.

The results of the NXT Poll were as follows:

    1. Michael McGillicutty
    2. Kaval
    3. Alex Riley
    4. Percy Watson
    5. Lucky Cannon
    6. Husky Harris
    7. Eli Cottonwood

After his elimination, an emotionally-charged Cottonwood attacked Harris and the other NXT Rookies. He shockingly shoved his WWE Pro, John Morrison, while walking up the ramp. When the final six NXT Rookies had a chance to tell the WWE Universe about becoming WWE’s next breakout star, Cottonwood returned, causing a brawl to erupt at the close of WWE NXT.

    Husky Harris def. Kaval (PHOTOS)
Hoping to make a last-minute impact, and a move upward in the NXT Poll, a confident Husky Harris defeated fellow NXT Rookie, Kaval. Earlier, Harris had a heated confrontation with Kaval, calling him “small fry” and referring to his WWE Pros, Lay-Cool, as his girlfriends. A confident Harris carried momentum into the ring, and during the match after he accidentally knocked Lay-Cool off the ring apron, capitalized on a distracted Kaval, pinning him in the last match before the WWE Pros voted in the NXT Poll. Harris upped his record to 3-2, while Kaval’s fell to 1-4.

Michael McGillicutty def. Eli Cottonwood (PHOTOS)
Michael McGillicutty kept his record perfect with a victory over fellow NXT Rookie, Eli Cottonwood. McGillicutty, who won the NXT Rookies’ Obstacle Course Challenge the previous week, earning himself immunity from elimination, pinned the mustache-obsessed Cottonwood, who was disqualified during last week’s competition. McGillicutty’s untarnished record stood at 5-0, while the 7-footer Cottonwood’s fell to 2-2.

“Showtime” Percy Watson def. Zack Ryder (PHOTOS | WATCH)
It’s “Showtime!” NXT Rookie Percy Watson earned a big win over a WWE Pro less than an hour before the results of the NXT Poll would be revealed. With his WWE Pro, MVP, cheering him on from the ring apron, Watson pinned Zack Ryder, becoming the first NXT Rookie to beat a WWE Pro in singles competition. “Showtime’s” record improved to 2-3 with his victory over Long Island Iced Z. (WATCH: The WWE Pros discuss "Showtime" Percy Watson)

The NXT Rookies grabbed the Open Mic (PHOTOS)
The final seven NXT Rookies had one minute each to say whatever was on their minds, aside from why they shouldn’t be eliminated. Each NXT Rookie sounded off one more time before the WWE Pros cast their votes in the NXT Poll. Who left a lasting impression before tonight’s elimination?

TNA iMPACT! Results (7/22) – Dixie, Dreamer & ECW!
By Ryan Clark on Thursday, July 22nd, 2010 at 11:07 PM EST

-We get a recap of Abyss going crazy, and the wild brawl that ended Impact last week.

    Extreme Innovation

-We see Dixie arriving at the Impact zone. She’ll explain what’s been going on later tonight.

-Video package is played. Pretty cool actually, I liked the effects. Pyro goes off, and Tenay and Taz run down the card. Kurt Angle faces Hernandez, Samoa Joe faces Jeff Hardy, and Dixie Carter will explain her actions. We’re kicking things off with a title match though. GET READY TO FLY!!!

Match 1: AJ Styles (w/ Kazarian) vs Rob Terry – TNA Global Championship

Styles and Kaz seem to be on the same page. We get a recap of Styles pinning Terry at Victory Road in that tag team match. Alright, so what exactly are the rules to the Global Championship? I feel like they’ve changed 5 times by now.

Styles hits Terry in the gut but it looks like it hurt AJ more than Terry. Kick by Styles to Terry’s leg and Styles is celebrating like he just won the belt. Clubbing blow by Terry to the back of AJ. Shoulder block in the corner by Terry. Terry throws AJ across the ring. Styles gets the boots up in the corner. Terry catches Styles off a springboard with a military press. AJ counters a chokeslam with a right hand and hits an enzuigiri. AJ gets distracted and turns around into a huge spin kick. Terry goes for the cover but Kaz distracts the ref. Terry takes out Kaz, and that allows AJ to roll up Terry for a two count. Terry goes for a suplex, but Kaz trips the leg and AJ falls on him for the pin. 1…2…3!!

Winner: AJ Styles (The match wasn’t anything special, mainly because it was so short, although that could have worked to their advantage. Either way, Styles holding gold is always a good thing, even if I have no idea what qualifies him to hold the belt)

-Taz says he had no clue about Dixie inviting the former ECW guys. Tonight, Dixie will give an explanation.

-Madison Rayne and Sarita are in the back talking. Madison makes fun of Velvet, and Velvet and Lacey are standing right behind her. Velvet says if she’s got something to say, say it to her face. Madison says she’s not afraid to say anything. Everything in the world is right tonight, because she’s being handed back her Knockout’s title. Madison says she has a match to get ready for tonight.

-Video package for the Sacrifice DVD is shown.

-Dixie is in the back arguing with some guys, including Al Snow and D’Lo. Dixie said Al punched a ref. Someone closes the door.

Match 2: Taylor Wilde and TNA Knockout’s Champion Angelina Love vs Madison Rayne and Sarita

Earl Hebner has a mic. He says that the Board of Directors has instructed him that they have no proof that the person who attacker her was a member of the Beautiful People, so she must surrender the belt. Angelina hits Madison with a right, and here we go.

Massive brawl between these four starts things off. Angelina gets thrown into Sarita. Double suplex to Madison. Clothesline by Angelina to Madison. Sarita gets the tag, but runs into a kick. Spear by Angelina. Tag to Taylor. Modified STO by Sarita. Clothesline by Taylor. Holy shit, Taylor just got dumped on her head on a back suplex. That looked sick. Tag to Angelina and Madison. Angelina with clotheslines. Front slam connects. Sarita breaks up the pin, and Sarita and Taylor Wilde start brawling to the outside. Madison goes for a move, but Angelina counters into the Lights Out.

Winner : Angelina Love and Taylor Wilde (I liked the aggression shown between these four woman, and I’m getting pretty interested in the whole Taylor/Sarita rivalry. This was a pretty average match though)

The mystery biker shows up again. She comes up to ringside. Lacey and Velvet are on the entrance ramp. Sarita and Madison attack Angelina and Taylor. The mystery woman joins in on the action too. They start to leave. Madison tells Lacey to come with them, and she doesn’t know what to do. She leaves with Madison, and Velvet looks pissed. Angelina and Velvet make eye contact.

-Tenay hypes up Angle vs Hernandez, which is up next.

-Dreamer, Raven, Rhino, Stevie and Foley are walking in the back.

Match 3: Kurt Angle (#8) vs Hernandez (#7)

Tie up to start, and Hernandez pushes Angle into the corner. Angle takes down Hernandez and locks in the front headlock. Hernandez drives Angle into the corner. European uppercuts by Kurt. Angle elevates Hernandez to the apron. Slingshot shoulderblock by the big man. Right hands by Kurt, but he runs right into a brick wall. Hernandez with a delayed over the shoulder backbreaker. Pin but only two. Right hands by Kurt. Clothesline in the corner connects. Hernandez lifts himself to the top. Angle follows him up but gets pushes down. Angle runs back up and gets the belly to belly suplex off the top. Pin but only two. Angle ducks a shot and hits a german. And another. Trifecta, but he’s not done. Fourth one will finish it. Pin but Hernandez kicks out at two. Angle Slam countered. Inverted sitout side powerslam connects. Border Toss coming up, but Angle slides down the back and hits the Angle Slam. 1…2…2.96546!!! Angle goes to the top. Moonsault misses. Huge shoulder block connects. Delayed vertical suplex by Hernandez countered by Angle into the Ankle Lock. He grapevines the leg.

Winner : Kurt Angle (Good match between these two. Angle’s been pulling out all the stops with his opponents so far, and this was no different)

Angle celebrates his win, but here comes Kevin Nash. Angle shakes hands with Nash as he walks back up the ramp. Taz reminds us about the Main Event Mafia. Nash says he’s seen Jarrett in the back and would like to talk to him. We’re heading to commercial.

And here comes Double J. Nash says he’s had a week to think about what went down, and something didn’t feel right. Jarrett is amazing and really good at what he does, he almost had Nash convinced that it was Sting’s fault. He’s known Sting for 20 years. Sting used to let him stay with him because Nash was broke and Sting was making big money. Nash isn’t sure if it was Sting’s fault or Jarrett’s. Nash can deal with it, but there’s a group of young guys who look up to Jeff and they are the victims. Jarrett says he has no idea what he’s talking about. He’s not buying it, and he’s sure these people aren’t buying. It was Kev that screwed Hulk and Eric when he did what he did to get Hall and Waltman jobs. He used his deceit to screw this company. Jeff knows him though, and these people know him. Nash says he’s come to his conclusion, he gets it and can live with it. Those three young daughters of Jeff’s though, when they grow up and they get it, and they realize that their father is nothing but a selfish prick, juggle that in your sleep. Nash walks off.

-Dixie is in the back standing around. Angle shows up, and Dixie congratulates him. Kurt asks what’s going on. Dixie says he needs to have faith in her and she knows what she’s doing. Angle says he trusts her.

-Coming up next. Samoa Joe faces Jeff Hardy.

    Match 4: Samoa Joe(#4) vs Jeff Hardy(#2)

This one’s got a ten minute time limit. Jeff rolls to the outside and high fives the fans. Eric Bischoff is joining commentary via telephone. Hardy finally gets back into the ring. Kick to the leg by Joe. Jabs in the corner follow. Joe throws Hardy to the outside. Hardy’s face gets slammed on the apron. Hardy with kicks to fight back, and he throws Joe headfirst into the steps. Back in the ring now as Hardy’s still on the attack. Hardy mounts Joe in the corner and hits him with the rights. Snapmare by Hardy, and he locks in a sleeper. Joe counters out with a jawbreaker. Snapmare by Joe, chop to the back, kick to the chest and the vintage knee drop follows. Hardy with the right hands. Hardy floats over Joe in the corner, but gets hit with a superkick. Elbows by Joe. Back elbow by Joe, and he follows with the SSC Enzuigiri. Pin but only two. Hardy’s fighting back, but he runs right into a powerslam. Pin but only two. Jabs by Joe. Hardy counters an irish whip with a sitout slam. Clotheslines and forearms follow. Spin kick, and the Hardyac Arrest connect. Pin but only two. Sleeperslam by Hardy. Pin but only two. Chop by Joe. Elbow in the corner by Hardy. Springboard gets caught with a reverse atomic drop. Kick and the senton follow. Pin but Hardy barely kicks out in time. Joe hits a powerbomb. Hardy kicks out at two and Joe transitions into a STF. Joe changes it into a crossface. It doesn’t even look like Joe’s applying pressure now. Hardy manages to get into the ropes. Joe flexes to the crowd. Both guys trade shots now. Samoan Drop countered into a Twist of Fate attempt, but Joe counters that into the Coquina Clutch. Hardy rams Joe into the corner. Whisper in the Wind connects. 30 seconds are left in this one. Both guys are trading shots now. 10 seconds. It’s over.

Winner: Time Limit Draw (Good stuff here. They didn’t give away too much and a rivalry between these two is something I could definitely get behind)

Joe is pissed. Hardy takes off his shirt and goes straight after Joe. The ref pulls Hardy off.

-Jarrett and Dixie are in the back. Dixie says everyone was disappointed last week. Dixie needs everyone to stop thinking that this isn’t a good thing. Jarrett says he’s got it.

-Up next. Mr. Anderson faces Matt Morgan.

Match 5: Matt Morgan vs Mr. Anderson(#3)

Anderson asks if there are any assholes in the building. Anderson presents us with the head asshole in charge….MRRRRRRRRRRR ANDERSON!!!

Anderson goes for a roll up, but Morgan kicks out quick. Another roll up and another quick kick out. Headlock by Anderson. Morgan pushes Anderson into the corner and goes on the attack. Elbows in the corner by Morgan. Taz lets out a “vintage”. Clothesline in the corner and a sidewalk slam follows. Pin but only two. Anderson fights back with the rights. Knee by Morgan to the gut. Anderson ducks a clothesline but gets caught on the crossbody attempt. Fallaway slam connects. Pin but only two. Morgan’s now taunting Anderson. Short arm clothesline by Morgan. And another. Anderson counters a discuss clothesline with the Mic Check. Pin and it’s over.

Winner : Mr. Anderson (This was alright, though I question Anderson winning after hitting one move)

Anderson turns around and Morgan clocks him with the mic. He then drops it on Anderson and poses on top of him.

Match 6: Beer Money vs TNA World Tag Team Champions The Motor City Machine Guns – Street Fight – Match 2 in Best of 5 Series

Oh hells yeah, I’ve been dying for this. The Guns haul to the ring. Sabin flies over the top and takes out Storm. The Guns are pissed. Storm throws Sabin into the ramp. Roode and Storm go for a double suplex off the ramp on Shelley, but Sabin pulls Storm off. Sabin goes to the top of the ramp, hyping up something. Shelley puts Roode in a camel clutch and Sabin hauls up the ramp and hits Roode with a hesitation dropkick. Shelley with a double foot stomp off the ramp. Pin but only two. Roode with a knee to the gut of Shelley. Shelley ducks a chair shot and hits a diving knee off the apron. Storm’s got the trash can and throws it into the ring. Sabin jumps off Shelley’s back, taking Storm off the apron with a dropkick. Sabin with a suicide dive to Roode, but Roode got the chair up. Roode hits Shelley in the leg with the chair. There’s a chair set up in the corner. Beer Money go to whip Shelley into it, but Shelley avoids it. Reverse STO to Roode into the chair. Backcracker by Storm to Shelley. Pin but only two. Sabin with a springboard dropkick, knocking the chair into Roode’s face. Pin but only two. Shelley goes for a plancha on Storm, but Storm avoids it. Cradle Shock countered as Storm spits the beer in Sabin’s eyes. Spinebuster connects. Pin but only two. Shelley comes back in with a kendo stick. He takes out Storm with it. Jawbreaker to Roode and he hits him with it. Roode takes out the ref with a clothesline. Trash can shot to Roode. Baseball slide to Roode misses and SSabin hits the ref on the outside by accident. Storm and Roode set up Shelley on the top. They want a double superplex, but Sabin runs in and knocks Storm to the outside. MADE IN DETROIT MOTHAFUCKAHH!!! Pin but there’s no ref. Storm nails Shelley with the beer bottle. Superkick to Sabin! Storm revives the ref as Roode pins Shelley for the win.

Winner : Beer Money (Not as good as last weeks and it was a lot shorter, but this was still very good)

Team 3D are in the back (Ray has a LAX shirt on). Devon asks where was Ray at the end of the show last week. He wants to know if Ray has their back. Ray asks why would he want to have their back? What do they have left to prove. They’ve done more than they’ve ever had.

-Christy Hemme is in the back with RVD. Christy asks him how it felt last week to be with ECW. Rob says it was awesome. It was like being home. He’s so proud of that part of his career. To have that here as he’s world champion, he’s very happy. He says he’s very excited to hear what Dixie’s news is, but he doesn’t know. He’s hoping it’s got something to do with what he’s thinking. He doesn’t know what Dixie’s gonna say and he doesn’t want to miss out on it. He’s got the belt, and Abyss wants it. He has to have eyes in the back of his head.

-Tenay and Taz hype up the Dixie announcement. Tenay says she owes us information. Taz doesn’t agree with that, saying she invited them to her house. Tenay says she has a bond with the audience and we can’t leave the situation open ended. We get a video package highlighting the ECW guys for the last few weeks.

-Dixie is on her way to the ring as she’ll make her announcement after this commercial break.

-And here she comes. She thanks everyone. She’s always said TNA has the best fans in the world. As TNA president, this will be a company about the fans, and her favorite part of her job is meeting everyone personally, thanking everyone and getting to see what they want in TNA. She’s learned a lot through the years, but there’s been one common theme, and that’s the fans love for extreme, hardcore wrestling. So at this time, welcome five gentlemen who made hardcore an art form, and let’s welcome them properly to the Impact Zone.

And here we go. Tommy Dreamer, Rhino, Stevie Richards, Raven and Mick Foley make their way to the ring. Dixie says she wanted them to come here tonight to tell the fans what they mean to the industry. Mick Foley says this is the first time Dixie has delivered a promo. Dixie says this is her being real. What Hulk Hogan meant to the 80′s, these guys meant to ECW in the 90′s. It’s really not about being hardcore, it’s about honor, dedication, respect. Not doing it for paychecks, doing it for the love of the fans. They always gave them what they asked for and more. Dixie has a history with four of them up here. They’re what have helped TNA thrive till today. Foley says it should be them thanking her. Foley appreciates her giving them the chance to make a last impression. No ones last moment should them having their head hung low. If there’s one person who knows something about personal closure, it’s Tommy Dreamer. Foley hands him the mic. Dreamer says he’s watched TNA since the beginning. He’s watched a small company grow. And his friends would tell him to quit his job and come over there. He was scared to though. He saw so many similarities between TNA and ECW. ECW was a place where men unkown became legends. Where legends in the wrestling business came to ECW to reinvent their career. Long before Samoa Joe was dumping people on their heads and choking people out, there was Taz. Ric Flair did for Jay Lethal is what Terry Funk did for him and Mick Foley. Before the Beautiful People was Francine and Beullah. He got to feel TNA at Slammiversary. He got to see a bunch of men and woman do what they do for the people. He thanks Dixie for bringing back the passion. At ECW One Night Stand in 05, he had his closure. But then they brought it back. And he got to witness his friends get fired, destroyed, for what? Until it bothered him so much he had to quit his own job, but he couldn’t stomach watching something like that so much. Foley showed him all the similarities, and they put the plan together, and there was only one person that could make it happen, and that was Dixie. This isn’t an ECW invasion or them taking over, this is about men and woman who lost their jobs and lives were effected about it. This is about the fans that chant it, for his friends that lived it, that their legacy is not destroyed. For one night, give them one night to show them the world what they had and their legacy can live forever. He begs of her. Do you guys want one night? The crowd’s going nuts. Dixie says you can’t come out here and get emotional like that. She asks the fans if they want to do this. They agree. She has one stipulation. They plan it all. It has to be real and what they want. Nothing that has to do with TNA. Loud Sabu chant. Tommy Dreamer – “Impact Zone, we’re going extreme”. Dreamer hugs Dixie as we close out. AWESOME WAY TO END THE SHOW.

The Miz talks about when he'll cash in MITB

The Miz talks about when he'll cash in MITB
Posted by Roscoe De Soto on 07/24/2010 at 05:09 PM

IGN.com has an interview up with The Miz and here are some highlights...

On getting started in wrestling: The Ballard Brothers actually trained me. They taught me how to lock up and how to run the ropes. They taught me all the basics. Other people who were around were Frankie Kazarian. Samoa Joe was down there. Cena had just left when I got there. Right before I came. I don't think anyone else that's in the WWE was there. Mike Knox was in IZW and I wrestled him a couple times while on the independents. Those are the main guys, more or less. Everyone else quits. And trust me, I've seen a lot of people come in and a lot of people quit.

On working with Bryan Danielson on NXT: I loved it. When they said that Bryan Danielson was going to be my "rookie" I thought it was a genius move. It really was. I mean, think about it. I'm the guy who everyone looks down at and says "this guy can't wrestle. We can't stand him." And they look at him like a god. They look at him and call him the best technical wrestler in the world. Now I didn't know Danielson at the time he came in so the way I looked at it was like this: I was like "screw these people who say he's the best. He's never been in the WWE." He's travelled all over the world but the WWE is a different entity. It's nothing like anything he's ever experienced.

On the differences between him and Danielson: People just think I went from reality TV right to the WWE. They think that the WWE sought me out because I was on a reality TV show and they just scooped me up because I liked wrestling. That wasn't the case. I paid my way to get into a school $2,500 by the way. I had to pay out of my own pocket to learn how to wrestle while I was still a star on MTV and doing their shows. And I didn't mind paying because it was one of those things where I knew this was what I wanted to do. So for three years I was on the independents. Sorry it didn't take me ten. My bad. It took me three because I had something that the WWE was looking for. Now does Bryan Danielson have "it?" To be completely honest with you, I think he did a tremendous job while he was on NXT. As far as developing a persona. People are still chanting his name to this day.

Do I think he got the short end of the stick on the whole Nexus thing? Of course. But the fact is he is no longer here so you live and you learn. But as far as Danielson is concerned, he won me over. He changed my mind about him. I thought he was just going to be a guy who couldn't talk. And then I saw a couple of his matches on the independents and I wasn't really blown away. I think it's because everyone kept telling me "he's the best in the world." I think he was so hyped up by all his indie friends that - you know when everyone tells you that a movie is the best and "oh, man. You've gotta see this movie"? You know when you see clips from a movie and it all looks great and then you go see the whole thing and you come out and you say "Well, it was good but...it wasn't as great as everyone said it was." That was Danielson to me. But then I also thought that towards the end he proved himself.

On cashing in his MITB title shot: Cena, And here's why. Because I had six months where I ripped him to shred in my promos. Just months and months of ripping him and ripping him. Right up until the Pay Per View match where he just killed me. And let's face it. I wasn't ready for Cena. We all knew I wasn't ready for Cena. But now? Right now? I think I'm getting there. I'm just at the point where I really think I could take him.

    Update Brett Dibiase

    - Brett DiBiase appeared at the FCW show earlier this week as the one-night General Manager role. DiBiase is no longer using crutches and is walking with a slight limp. It's believed DiBiase will be out of action for a few more months. DiBiase is now doing a gimmick similar to his brother Ted, where he has the DiBiase family trust fund.

MVP & Chris Masters def. Trent Barreta & Caylen Croft
    Chavo Guerrero def. JTG
    Primo def. Yoshi Tatsu
Unified Tag Team Champions The Hart Dynasty def. The Usos

Don’t know where to catch “WWE Superstars”? Find WGN America in your area. Can't see “WWE Superstars” on WGN America in your area? Stay with WWE.com for full results, photos and video clips of all the action.

Unified Tag Team Champions The Hart Dynasty def. The Usos (PHOTOS | WATCH)
In a rematch from Money in the Bank, the Unified Tag Team Champions locked up with the impressive young duo known as The Usos. Bitter about their defeat on Sunday, Jimmy & Jey were determined to be The Hart Dynasty in their place tonight, but taking out David Hart Smith & Tyson Kidd is easier said than done. After a brutal contest that saw involvement from Tamina and Natalya, the Harts were able to connect with the Hart Attack to defeat their rivals once again.

Primo def. Yoshi Tatsu (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Yoshi Tatsu and Primo have had their share of contests on “WWE Superstars” and tonight’s battle between the two young Superstars was as hard-fought and exciting as ever. Attacking the Puerto Rican Superstar with a variety of devastating kicks, Tatsu was able to control much of the action and seemed close to victory on multiple occasions. But The Cardiac Kid’s high-risk offense got the better of him in the end when Primo managed to reverse an attempted top rope maneuver into a brutal Backstabber for the 1-2-3.

Chavo Guerrero def. JTG (PHOTOS | WATCH)
After suffering a surprising loss to Chavo Guerrero on last Thursday’s edition of “WWE Superstars,” JTG was planning on evening up the score tonight. Unfortunately for the Brooklyn Superstar, things did not go his way. Although JTG aggressively attacked his opponent, he wasn’t able to outsmart the crafty veteran. After nailing a big Frog Splash, the self-proclaimed “Mexican Warrior” picked up yet another win.

MVP & Chris Masters def. Trent Barreta & Caylen Croft (PHOTOS | WATCH)
With his NXT Rookie Percy Watson looking on from ringside, the talented MVP put on a clinic on how to succeed in WWE. Teaming with Chris Masters for the first time, the champagne popping Superstar helped silence the explosive offense of The Dudebusters before nailing the Play of the Day for the win. The eccentric Watson was thrilled with his Pro’s victory, but maybe that’s just the way he always behaves.

Former ECW star turns down TNA
Posted by Corbin Nordhoff on 07/24/2010 at 02:49 PM

Lance Storm posted the following on stormwrestling.com:

I was hoping to write a bigger article about the TNA: ECW Themed PPV, because I am getting bombarded with questions, but I've got a very busy schedule for the next week, so I'll just address this here and now.

I was asked if I would be interested in taking part in the TNA: One Last Stand PPV. I think it was big of them to extend me the offer, considering my general opinion of the TNA product, and want to I thank them for that, but I will not be taking part.

I feel it would be hypocritical of me to work the show, considering my out outspoken views of the TNA product. I have a great deal of respect for the boys who will be working the show as well as the great workers on the TNA roster, but I have no desire to be a part of the TNA creative process. As for ECW, One Night Stand in 2005 was my farewell and am content in letting sleeping dogs lie.

WWE main eventer expects Danielson back

Randy Orton (@RealRKOrton) responded to a Twitter follower question regarding the firing of Bryan Danielson:

“I understand why it happened,” Orton wrote. “But he deserves to be there. I’m sure he’ll be back. Very talented in my opinion.”

Heat between Vince McMahon and Shawn Michaels?

Heat between Vince McMahon and Shawn Michaels?

It seems there might be some tension right now between WWE Chairman Vince McMahon and former WWE superstar Shawn Michaels. According to Dave Meltzer, McMahon recently made the call to have the announcers no longer mention Michaels on air and for there to be no footage of him shown on WWE television. Reports are circulating that the reasoning behind this was that Michaels was very unhappy about the Bryan Danielson situation. It's also believed that McMahon is upset that HBK decided to call time on his wrestling career, as McMahon felt there was still more years left in the tank. Michaels is said to be very distanced from having any involvement with wrestling at this point.

Henry injured during RAW match with Barrett?

Henry injured during RAW match with Barrett?

It's reported that WWE star Mark Henry was injured on RAW this past Monday night. The injury came when Wade Barrett awkwardly dropped Henry on his back at the end of their bout on Raw. For those who may have missed it, Barrett almost fell over when he had Henry on his shoulders to give him his finisher, and when he dropped him to the mat, Henry landed hard on his shoulder and back. It is unknown at this time how serious the injury to Henry is, but it is serious enough that he had to miss the following night's NXT taping.
