Before Eric Young was chosen as the new member of The Band, there was talk of bringing Scott Steiner back to join the group or putting Sting in the group. There is still a chance that Sting will become involved with Hall and Nash.

Christian def. Dolph Ziggler (PHOTOS | WATCH) The brash Dolph Ziggler has spent months trying to make a name for himself at the expense of many talented Superstars. Tonight, however, his opponent wasnt the type of competitor he could use as a stepping stone. Riding the momentum of his amazing match against Edge from Mondays commercial-free Raw, the always electrifying Christian entered the ring slightly sore, but extremely focused on his opponent. In his home country of Canada, Captain Charisma had thousands of very vocal Peeps behind him, giving him the energy to avoid Zigglers dreaded sleeper hold and Zig Zag and engage the Killswitch for the win.
Cody Rhodes def. Chris Masters (PHOTOS | WATCH) After falling to Dolph Ziggler on last Thursdays WWE Superstars, the impressive Chris Masters was looking to pick up a win this week. Unfortunately, Cody Rhodes was standing in his way. Although The Masterpiece had a major strength and size advantage over his opponent, the second-generation Superstar had the benefit of a life spent around the ring. This uncanny experience allowed Rhodes to slip out of a potentially devastating Master Lock and nail Cross Rhodes to seal the victory.
Goldust def. William Regal (PHOTOS | WATCH) Two of WWEs most talented and experienced veterans faced off on WWE Superstars when the bizarre Goldust locked up with the 2008 King of the Ring William Regal. Although each Superstar has spent years in the ring, their styles are wildly different. While Master Regal attempted to use his brutal kicks and mat skills to take The Bizarre One down, Goldust got the win thanks to his unpredictable offensive maneuvers.
Vladimir Kozlov def. Santino Marella (PHOTOS | WATCH) Santino Marella may have been putting off the inevitable when he grabbed the microphone before his match with Vladimir Kozlov. After spewing some of his favorite lines from Rocky IV in an attempt to befriend the big man, the Italian Superstar gave Kozlov an ultimatum either they walk out of the ring as tag team partners or Santino would have to unleash his fearsome offense on the Russian giant. Instead of answering Marellas question, The Soviet Cyborg assaulted him with headbutts and then brutally slammed him to the mat. That must be how they say no thanks in Moscow.
Wade Barrett def. Darren Young Justin Gabriel def. Heath Slater

He said the difference between he and the other NXT Rookies is that he has respect for the WWE Pros.
Im not going to come up here and holler and cry. I just want to say thank you. NXT is over for me, Young said. This is not the last time you will see Darren Young, you can believe that.
The Pros Poll results were as follows: 1. Wade Barrett 2. David A-List Otunga 3. Heath Slater 4. Justin Gabriel 5. Darren Young
The final four NXT Rookies move on to Week 14 of the competition and one will be eliminated next week. Return to WWE.com tomorrow for the results of the latest WWE Universe poll and vote for which of the final four is the No. 1 NXT Rookie.
Skip Sheffield spoke out about the Pros Poll (WATCH) Eliminated as a result of last weeks Pros Poll, NXT Rookie Skip Sheffield told the WWE Universe why he thought he was sent packing. The Cornfed Meathead was convinced the WWE Pros were intimidated by his size, physique and intensity, and they took out the biggest, baddest threat, just like in the game of Survivor.
Justin Gabriel def. Heath Slater (PHOTOS | WATCH) After coming off losses the previous week, NXT Rookies Justin Gabriel and Heath Slater faced off in singles action, hoping to make one last impression on the WWE Pros before the Pros Poll. With his WWE Pro, Matt Hardy, at ringside cheering him on, Gabriel hit a perfectly-timed 450 Splash on The One-Man Rock Band for the win in the highly-competitive, offense-heavy match. After the match, the NXT Rookies and WWE Pros Hardy and Christian shook hands in a sign of good sportsmanship. Gabriels record was upped to 6-3, while Slaters dropped to 5-5.
Eliminated NXT Rookies spoke out (PHOTOS) NXT Rookies Michael Tarver and Daniel Bryan came before the WWE Universe to speak their minds one week after they were eliminated by WWE Management.
Tarver questioned the identity of WWE Management, calling them easily-intimidated pencil pushers and said he was trying to get noticed by being revolutionary when he refused to participate in competitions. (WATCH)
Daniel Bryan defiantly defended his time on WWE NXT, stating he was a self-made man who wasnt invented by the WWE machine. (WATCH)
WWE needs to pick guys who are the best people for this job and the best person for this job is me, Bryan said.
The former independent star called out the WWE Pros and said they know just how good he is. He also called out WWE NXT announcer Michael Cole, who had been berating Daniel Bryan all season. A very confident Daniel Bryan called Cole a parrot with Vince McMahon in his ear telling him what to say then approached the announce table with an intense determination. Daniel Bryan unabashedly attacked Cole with a slap across the face, referred to him as a poor mans replacement for J.R., then knocked Cole to the ground and began stomping him until WWE Officials and host Matt Striker pulled Daniel Bryan off of Cole.
Wade Barrett def. Darren Young (PHOTOS | WATCH) With his encouraging WWE Pro, Chris Jericho, at ringside, Wade Barrett dominated fellow NXT Rookie, Darren Young. The British bareknuckle brawler heeded Jerichos advice and defeated Young with his devastating finisher, while The South Beach Party Boy received no support from his WWE Pro, CM Punk, who watched the match from the stage. Barretts record increased to 7-4, while Youngs dropped to the same 7-4.
The WWE Pros discussed the NXT Rookies (PHOTOS | WATCH) Before casting their critical Pros Poll votes, the WWE Pros discussed the NXT Rookies. The WWE Pros told the WWE Universe what it takes to be WWEs next breakout Superstar who will earn a future championship match on a WWE pay-per-view.

More on the budget cutbacks Posted by Mark Virginia on 05/18/2010 at 09:30 PM
- According to the Wrestling Globe Newsletter, part of TNA's budget cutback plans involves releasing wrestlers that have big money contracts, and then offering them work again on a pay-per-appearance basis for less money. This is what TNA did with Daniels.
Edge def. Christian The Undertaker def. Edge by Count-out Mark Henry vs. Batista ended in a No Contest Ted DiBiase def. Yoshi Tatsu Bret Hart def. United States Champion The Miz Maryse, Women's Champion Layla & Michelle McCool def. The Bella Twins & Divas Champion Eve Randy Orton def. Jack Swagger by Disqualification Evan Bourne & Gail Kim def. Zack Ryder & Alicia Fox WWE Champion John Cena def. Sheamus by Disqualification
TORONTO With just six days before Over the Limit, special guest host Buzz Aldrin, one of the famed astronauts aboard the first manned mission to the moon, blasted the WWE Universe into orbit on a commercial-free Raw.
WWE Champion John Cena def. Sheamus by Disqualification (PHOTOS | WATCH) There may have been only six days left until his title match at Over the Limit, but WWE Champion John Cena was willing to risk injury in a fight against Sheamus. The Champ needed to set the Irishman right, so that he wouldnt interfere in his title match against Batista. With heightened animosity over the past several months, tempers between Cena and The Celtic Warrior were set to boil.
While the two brawny brawlers went at each other like a pair of tractor trailers playing chicken, The Animal interrupted the ultimate collision when he popped up. He locked his Over the Limit opponent in a brutal submission hold and demanded that he say, I quit. When Raw went off the air, Cena was still locked in The Animals clutches but had still refused to utter those two words. But will he be able to summon that resolve in six days at Over the Limit?
Jon Lovitz to serve as Raws special guest host next week Just 24 hours after Over the Limit, actor and comedian Jon Lovitz will try to restore order in the aftermath when he serves as special guest host next week. Be sure to tune in when Lovitz, a Saturday Night Live alum, brings his unique comedy to Monday Night.
Evan Bourne & Gail Kim def. Zack Ryder & Alicia Fox (PHOTOS | WATCH) Special guest host Buzz Aldrin, an astronaut aboard the first manned mission to the moon, offered his thanks to the Canadian audience and their country for all the help theyve given the U.S. space program throughout the years. Long Island Loudmouth Zack Ryder wasnt convinced. When Ryder questioned the veracity of the moon landing, Aldrin quickly placed him in a match with Alicia Fox against Evan Bourne & Canadian native Gail Kim.
With the Air Canada Centre cheering him on, Air Bourne & Kim had little difficulty knocking Ryder & Fox back down to earth. After their victory, Bourne and Kim were joined in celebration by Aldrin.
Randy Orton def. Jack Swagger by Disqualification (PHOTOS | WATCH) After spooning out his poison to Edge earlier in the evening, it was time for Randy Orton to take his medicine. In their Pick Your Poison Match, The Ultimate Opportunist chose World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger to battle The Viper just six days before Over the Limit. Having defeated Orton at Extreme Rules, Swagger appeared to be a particularly shrewd choice. The Viper, however, showed why there are never any good choices when it comes to him. His Over the Limit opponent Edge interfered in the match, prompting a disqualification, before Orton struck The All-American American with an RKO. The Rated-R Superstar then hammered WWE's Apex Predator with a Spear.
Maryse, Womens Champion Layla & Michelle McCool def. The Bella Twins & Divas Champion Eve (PHOTOS | WATCH) When Divas Champion Eve retaliated against Maryse in the womens locker room earlier in the night, beating her tormentor for an unprovoked attack two weeks earlier, it was questionable whether or not the conceited Canadian would compete. When the time came, though, Maryse stood alongside Womens Champion Layla & Michelle McCool as the three faced off against Eve & The Bella Twins. Perhaps energized by competing in her native country, Maryse rallied and pinned Nikki Bella to capture the win for her team.
Bret Hart def. United States Champion The Miz (PHOTOS | WATCH) During the no disqualification, no count-out bout for the United States Title, it seemed as if half of Canada had charged the ring. Before beloved Canadian Bret Hart battled The Miz, the U.S. Champion employed enforcers William Regal and Vladimir Kozlov to watch the ring. To combat the duo, Unified Tag Team Champions The Hart Dynasty fought them off. During the melee, Chris Jericho and Miz entered the ring and surrounded The Hit Man. The Hart family, however, had the back of one of their own.
When Miz attempted to lock the Sharpshooter onto Hart, The Hart Dynasty leveled the loudmouth, allowing The Hit Man to lock in his signature maneuver himself for the win and championship gold.
Ted DiBiase (accompanied by Virgil) def. Yoshi Tatsu (PHOTOS | WATCH) After a fruitless search to find a suitable Virgil, Ted DiBiase instead acquired the original. The one-and-only Virgil, man-servant to DiBiases father, The Million Dollar Man, accompanied DiBiase to the ring before his match against Yoshi Tatsu. After defeating the Japanese sensation, The Fortunate Son summoned Virgil into the ring and explained that if his Over the Limit opponent, R-Truth, wouldnt be his man-servant, hed buy the original Virgil, who will now be in DiBiases corner on Sunday.
Mark Henry vs. Batista ended in a No Contest (PHOTOS | WATCH) When Batista forced Mark Henry to tap out last week, he proved hes got what it takes to compete with WWE Champion John Cena in an I Quit Match at Over the Limit. Sadly for Henry, The Animal decided to submit more proof. As The Worlds Strongest Man approached the ring for their bout, Batista ambushed him from behind with a 2 x 4 before the opening bell. Even when he was down, the No. 1 contender to the WWE Title continued pummeling the powerhouse. Message sent.
Special guest host Buzz Aldrin: new Raw GM announced next week (PHOTOS | WATCH) After Vickie Guerrero tried to grovel her way back into the Raw General Manager position, she was rebuffed by special guest host Buzz Aldrin. The famed astronaut informed her that not only is her reign over, but next week, a new Raw GM will be announced.
Edge def. Christian; The Undertaker def. Edge (PHOTOS | WATCH) In the run-up to their match at Over the Limit, Edge and Randy Orton engaged in a Pick Your Poison Match, in which your opponent gets to choose your competition. In the case of Edge, The Viper ripped a page from his past and apparently chose Christian. Rather than let old alliances distract him, The Rated-R Superstar defeated his former partner with a Spear. All done then, right? Not so fast.
Orton emerged again to inform his rival that his competition would actually be The Undertaker! While The Ultimate Opportunist purposefully lost by count-out, Captain Charisma wrangled him back inside the ring, where The Deadman greeted him with a chokeslam.
Chris Jericho confronted Bret Hart (PHOTOS) Last week, United States Champion The Miz lost to The Hart Dynastys Tyson Kidd and was forced to choose a member of the Hart family he must face in a U.S. Championship Match. His choice? Bret Hart.
Kicking off the broadcast, Hart explained to his countrymen why he would not be competing. Just when it seemed he would remain firm in his decision, fellow Canadian Chris Jericho appeared to confront him. Mizs partner berated the WWE Hall of Famer, finally goading him into accepting the title bout with no disqualifications and no count-outs.

Here are some interview highlights of what "The Uncommon" Cody Rhodes told Slam! Wrestling. about:
Being a Second Generation Star: "It can be incredibly easy or incredibly difficult. I didn't want to be my dad. I don't want to be Dusty Rhodes Jr. I want to be Cody Rhodes."
Being Drafted To SmackDown!: "RAW was more of a variety show. Smackdown is more of a wrestling-based show. That's my area. It gives me a chance to showcase myself. I feel I'll do really well between the ropes. I think things are going to be changing for me along with the brand change. As a fan, I like to see the talent evolve and I need to evolve. I really wasn't a character on RAW. It was 'here we have our second- and third-generation superstars.' Now, fans will have the opportunity to see who Cody Rhodes is."
Legacy: "The point was to introduce us, as The Legacy, the same as when Randy Orton and Batista were brought in with Evolution. I don't think it'd be totally bizarre if three, five or seven years down the road from now, you saw a Wrestlemania match with me and on the other side, Ted DiBiase."

After a collision between Beth and Michelle left both Divas reeling, Layla capitalized and covered Beth to become the new Womens Champion.

But when Swagger attempted to attack The Worlds Largest Athlete, he was ousted from the ring. Next, Big Show went on the war path, obliterating all of Swaggers precious possessions. Kofi Kingston def. Christian in an Intercontinental Championship Tournament Finals Match; Drew McIntyre reinstated as Intercontinental Champion (PHOTOS | WATCH) In a highly competitive match featuring multiple near pinfalls, Kofi Kingston emerged victorious over Christian with Trouble in Paradise to claim the vacated Intercontinental Title.
Or so he thought.
Moments after basking in the glory, former champion Drew McIntyre entered the ring and hand-delivered a letter to SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long. After reading the contents of the letter, the GM requested Kofi return the coveted title to him. After much hesitation, Kofi reluctantly complied with the GM, who then handed over the title to McIntyre. The former champion appeared to become the new champion.
After the match, SmackDown announcer Matt Striker clarified the situation by revealing the author of the letter was none other than Mr. McMahon himself. Striker read the letter, in which The Chairman overruled Longs decision to fire and strip McIntyre of the title last week. Mr. McMahon firmly declared that McIntyre be officially reinstated to the active roster and stated that he remains the reigning Intercontinental Champion. (WATCH)
Later in the night, Long asserted the power he did wield by informing McIntyre that he would face The Worlds Largest Athlete next week on SmackDown!
