By showing a DX "mockumentary" on the Titantron and bringing in two DX imposters, Miz & Morrison thoroughly disparaged their soon-to-be opponents in a live edition of The Dirt Sheet. Even the hosts themselves questioned if they crossed the line.
Can The Dirt Sheet hosts back up their words, or will WWE Champion Triple H & Shawn Michaels prove why they remain one of the greatest tag teams ever? (Raw preview) (WATCH "The Dirt Sheet")
Mark Henry, Chavo Guerrero & Bam Neely def. ECW Champion Matt Hardy, Finlay & Evan Bourne (PHOTOS) Despite facing each other just two days earlier at Cyber Sunday, ECW Champion Matt Hardy and Evan Bourne paired up, along with Finlay, for a six-man tag match. Their opponents included none other than Hardys nagging nemesis, Mark Henry, along with Chavo Guerrero & Bam Neely.
Toward the end of the bout, chaos ensued. Hornswoggle bit Mark Henry and leaped on top of WWE Hall of Famer Tony Atlas, sending him to the arena floor. Next, Finlay bashed Mark Henry over the head with his shillelagh. Guerrero capitalized on the mayhem by hitting Hardy with a Frog Splash from the top rope to get the win for his team.
Jack Swagger def. Tommy Dreamer (WATCH) (PHOTOS) "The All-American American" Jack Swagger chalked up another win in the Land of the Extreme. This week it was 19-year veteran and ECW Original Tommy Dreamer who was on the receiving end of Swaggers brutally effective gutwrench powerbomb.
ECW wrestler Mike Knox is coming to the Raw brand. Last night on Raw, WWE ran a video package on Knox. At the end of the video package, the Raw logo was displayed next to his name. They aired a video package last week as well, but the Raw logo was not displayed. Knox defeated Jamie Noble in a dark match prior to last night's show.
World Heavyweight Champion Batista & Shawn Michaels def. Chris Jericho & JBL Rey Mysterio def. Evan Bourne Mickie James, Kelly Kelly & Candice Michelle def. Layla, Katie Lea Burchill & Jillian The "GlamaHaas" vs. Intercontinental Champion Santino Marella ended in a no-contest CM Punk & Kofi Kingston def. World Tag Team Champions Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase to become the new champions
TUCSON, Ariz. A mere 24 hours after you, the WWE Universe, made your voice heard at Cyber Sunday, Raw stormed into the desert of Arizona with new World Heavyweight Champion Batista. Big events were set in motion for the celebration of Raws historic 800th episode the following week, including a Steel Cage Match for the World Heavyweight Title between champion Batista and Chris Jericho, and the first-ever confrontation between D-Generation X and The Miz & John Morrison. WATCH all of the action now in the Raw Quick Cut and check out WWE.com's exclusive ringside PHOTOS.
World Heavyweight Champion Batista & Shawn Michaels def. Chris Jericho & JBL (PHOTOS | WATCH) After Chris Jericho entered the ring for the nights main event, live footage was shown of JBL mercilessly beating Shawn Michaels in the locker room area. Afterward, the self-proclaimed wrestling god emerged, smugly walking out to meet his partner. Due to the cowardly attack on HBK, World Heavyweight Champion Batista was forced to fend off both JBL and Jericho for much of the match. But proving that you cant keep a good man down, Michaels emerged ready for action, giving his partner the help he needed to pin the Longhorn Loudmouth.
The Miz & John Morrison to face DX next week (PHOTOS) As part of the three-hour Raw celebrating the programs landmark 800th episode, The Miz & John Morrison will be taking on D-Generation X for the first time ever. Claiming they have surpassed Triple H & Shawn Michaels in their abilities and relevance, the self-proclaimed chick magnet and the Shaman of Sexy will host a special live edition of The Dirt Sheet on ECW this week to break it down further.
Rey Mysterio def. Evan Bourne (PHOTOS) For the first time ever, in a special Raw-ECW match-up, Evan Bourne challenged Rey Mysterio in a match characterized by both Superstars high-flying abilities. Though Air Bourne put up an effort as valiant as his ECW Championship Match against Matt Hardy the night before, it wasnt enough to get the win over the more experienced Mysterio. But the matchs victor was immediately confronted by Cyber Sunday fall-out, as Kane, bitter over his loss to the Ultimate Underdog, attacked Mysterio. Bourne didnt escape mistreatment either, as Mark Henry brutalized him, seemingly angered by the WWE Universe having chosen the high-flyer to face Hardy.
Mickie James, Kelly Kelly & Candice Michelle def. Layla, Katie Lea Burchill & Jillian (PHOTOS) Fresh off her win as Lara Croft in the Cyber Sunday Diva Halloween Costume Contest, Mickie James came to the ring, accompanied by Kelly Kelly & Candice Michelle for their match against the team of Layla, Katie Lea Burchill & Jillian. James continued her streak as her team dominated their opponents.
The GlamaHaas vs. Intercontinental Champion Santino Marella ended in a no-contest when Rowdy Roddy Piper, Goldust & Honky Tonk Man attacked Marella. (PHOTOS | WATCH) Before either competitor came to the ring on Monday night, Jerry The King Lawler and Michael Cole were joined at the announce table by WWE Legends Rowdy Roddy Piper, Goldust & Honky Tonk Man, all three of whom were involved in Honky Tonks defeat of Intercontinental Champion Santino Marella at Cyber Sunday. As the trio of former Intercontinental Champions looked on, Charlie Haas emerged taking a page from Goldusts book, playing with gender roles, and impersonating Marellas girlfriend Beth Phoenix as The GlamaHaas. With the three WWE Legends angered by the Italian Superstars disrespect, they all became involved and Honky Tonk Man laid out the Intercontinental Champion with a well-placed guitar to the head.
CM Punk & Kofi Kingston def. World Tag Team Champions Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase to become the new champions. (PHOTOS | WATCH) Though the WWE Universe didnt vote for CM Punk & Kofi Kingston to compete for the World Tag Team Titles at Cyber Sunday, they had an opportunity to seize gold the night after on Raw as they took on champions Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase. Even with assistance from Manu, however, Rhodes & DiBiase could not stand up to the assault of their opponents, as Punk & Kingston took revenge on the priceless competitors. The former World Heavyweight Champion pinned DiBiase, making himself and the Jamaican Superstar the new World Tag Team Champions.
Adamle announced Chris Jerichos rematch against Batista in a Steel Cage Match and slapped Randy Orton after being insulted by him. (PHOTOS | WATCH) Former World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho came to the ring, furious at his Cyber Sunday loss to Batista, and blamed his losing the match on not only The Animal and special guest referee Stone Cold Steve Austin, but also Shawn Michaels, Mike Adamle and especially the WWE Universe. After Jericho invoked his rematch clause for a match against World Heavyweight Champion Batista the following week on the celebration of Raws 800 episodes, General Manager Mike Adamle emerged to grant the jilted former champion his request, making the contest a Steel Cage Match.
As Jericho stormed out, another bitter Superstar confronted Adamle, the convalescing Randy Orton. The night before, Adamle had sent the Legend Killer to the ring to act as an emergency referee, an action that resulted in Orton receiving a Stone Cold Stunner. He also blamed Adamle for his misfortune and went on to demand that Shane and Stephanie McMahon fire the GM, or else he will walk. Orton stepped over boundaries when he insulted Adamles family, however, causing the furious family man to strike the Legend Killer.
Candice Michelle is well aware of her negative Internet critics since her return and has decided to use it as a way to motivate herself into getting better. She was really upset with all the negative criticism online regarding her return and ring performance. She is said to be an extremely hard worker with a great worth ethic.
Live notes from WWE Cyber Sunday PPV Posted by Randy Gordon on 10/27/2008 at 12:47 AM
Thanks to Jake Altersitz for sending in this live report:
Not too much happened off camera, but here goes.
They let the fans in the arena around 4pm. People were pretty upset about that. Some had been waiting in line since 10am. And it's still pretty warm in Phoenix, it was in the mid 80s-low 90s. We got in and we started with the other male ring announcer (not Chimmell) welcoming us to the show. The place filled to about 85% capacity, the half of the upper deck above the cameras was tarped off. They ran a video package prior to the US Title match showing the WWE's popularity around the world. Both presidential candidates were in the video. McCain got booed and Obama got a huge pop. Kinda funny considering McCain is "from" Arizona. After the predictable US Title match Lillian sang the National Anthem. She has a phenomenal singing voice.
The fans weren't as hot or as into it as I expected. Usually Phoenix crowds are pretty good. Most of the crowd was pretty shocked the Cryme Tyme-M&M match was picked. Most people expected the Tag Title match.
The crowd was dead during the divas competition.
Evan Bourne was over huge with the crowd.
People were really into the last 2 matches, I didn't see many people in their seats.
After the show Batista celebrated his title victory with Austin. They drank a whole case of beer. Austin gave a cheers so hard he knocked a beer out of Batista's hand. Batista posed with the belt for a bit, then walked up the ramp.
Then Lillian thanked everyone for attending, said "We love you Phoenix, good night!" And that was the end.
My friends and I ran into Todd Grisham in the parking garage. He's really nice guy.
Biggest Pop: Stone Cold Jeff Hardy Triple H Evan Bourne Rey Mysterio
Biggest Heat: Vickie Guerrero The Miz Jericho (although it was split down the middle).
Lance Storm had lunch with Adam "Edge" Copeland on Friday, and said he expects him back on WWE television relatively soon. I assume that means Copeland was in Calgary at the end of last week since that is the location of Storm's Wrestling School. Storm also stated on Wrestling Observer Radio Sunday night that Copeland is sporting a beard these days and with his hat looked like a "taller, skinner version of Evan Tanner."
Scott Steiner returning to TNA this week? Posted by Randy Gordon on 10/27/2008 at 04:03 PM
Bill Behrens is reporting that Scott Steiner is in Orlando, FL today at the TNA TV tapings. Hell most likely be back this week or on next week's show (taped tomorrow night).
The Wrestling Observer is reporting that the divorce between Kurt and Karen Angle is now final.
The Pittsburgh-Post Gazette issued a divorce notice in their paper last week, and Karen appeared on The Bubba The Love Sponge show and spoke out about the divorce being final. She claimed all issues between her and Kurt have been settled.
Although Karen's profile and photos still appear on TNA's website, it should be noted that the company has no plans to bring her back.
Mick Foley talks more about Vince McMahon Posted by Aaron Rift on 10/26/2008 at 05:27 PM
In an interview with Mike Mooneyham of Charleston.net, TNA Superstar Mick Foley said he not enjoy his final months in World Wrestling Entertainment due to Vince McMahon constantly screaming at him through his headset during SmackDown broadcasts. "It would be tough to overstate how much I disliked my last 3 1/2 months with WWE," Foley said. "It was a month before I got the first dose of Vince's unique medicine. I spoke to him the next day about it and told him I couldn't remember the last time I had been belittled and treated so disrespectfully. I accepted his apology and accepted that it was just part of a bad night he was having. But within a few weeks I realized that it would be part of the job and that I had to make a decision as to whether I found that acceptable." He also added, "In the end I told Vince that's not why I slept in my car and slept on a cot in the Red Roof Inn even while I was WWE champion. There's got to be a moral to every story, and I don't think you save money and sacrifice to do something you really don't want to do when you're 43."
Special Delivery Jones, one of the steadiest performers ever to appear in a WWE ring, passed away on Oct. 26 in his native Antigua, West Indies; he was 63.
At last night's Cyber Sunday pay-per-view, Mickie James won the Divas Halloween costume contest after being voted the winner by the fans. James dressed up as Lara Croft from the Tomb Raider video game series. James won the contest last year as well, dressing up as a Native American, so she's won two years in a row. And quite like last year, Mickie James is currently on the back burner in the storylines in favor of other heavily pushed WWE Divas. Since losing the WWE Women's Championship at SummerSlam, which coincided with the return of Candice Michelle, James has done little of note and is frequently left off of Raw. Considering that James' costume wasn't nearly as revealing or sexy as several of the other Divas such as Candice Michelle, Kelly Kelly, Maria, or Michelle McCool, and that she's won it two years in a row, this should be a good indication that James is the most popular female on the WWE roster. As if that isn't enough, James won despite being the last Diva of sixteen Divas to display her costume, and she only had approximately 30 minutes to sway viewers as the Undertaker vs. Big Show match was sandwiched in between the two segments. Some of the other Divas such as Candice Michelle and Michelle McCool were shown early during the broadcast and had a huge head start on her as a result. Despite their huge head start - and huge pushes on television - they still could not defeat the often-left-off-of-Raw Mickie James.
Kevin Nash says that when he sat down with Vince McMahon to discuss potential storylines in WWE if he were to make a return, McMahon wanted him to finish his career as Diesel with dyed hair.
"Vince wanted me to do the Diesel thing," Nash told Tim Baines of the Winnipeg Sun. "And I was OK with that, basically to start and end my career as Diesel. When we sat down and talked, Vince got to the point where he wanted me to color my hair dark. I went to my hair lady and she said with my hair, that's all I'd be doing is dying my hair."
Nash repeats the story about his wife convincing him to stick in TNA, but also adds more details on the original clique, Shawn Michaels and Triple H, growing up and growing apart.
"I sat down with my wife and she said: 'Shawn and Hunter are up there. But Hunter's married with kids. And Shawn's not going to be there much longer. You don't know any of those guys,'" Nash said. "It was a difficult decision because it is WWE, but I know I made the right decision."
Nash adds that he's lost 20 pounds to help relieve pressure on his aching knees. He says he doesn't take pain medicine either, as he saw what happened to previous wrestlers who became dependent on drugs.
"I don't take pain medicine. I think about painkillers," he said. "Some of the guys (who have died) were taking painkillers and muscle relaxers. Some of those painkillers were so strong, they might as well have been doing heroin."
The "Suicide" character has officially been put on hold due to Frankie Kazarian having surgery to repair his triceps and having to miss action for the next few months. TNA was originally going to debut the character either with a run-in at Bound For Glory or at the TV tapings following the event. The thought at the time when Kazarian went out was for someone else to play the character while he was away and limit his role, although it would appear they have dropped all plans entirely right now in no longer airing vignettes on iMPACT!.

The Great Khalis Kiss Cam (WATCH) (PHOTOS) Ever since The Great Khali starting kissing women in the ring, letters have been pouring in to his camp. Associate Ranjin Singh read a few of them out loud before the Punjabi Playboy planted a kiss on the lips of a lucky member of the WWE Universe.
The Brian Kendrick def. Super Crazy (PHOTOS) Similar to his experience last week on SmackDown, poor Super Crazy felt the power of Ezekiel Jackson. After The Brian Kendrick defeated Super Crazy with The Kendrick maneuver, his brutally powerful associate chokeslammed Super Crazy to the canvas using just one hand.
There are rumblings in TNA that the company may be eliminating a handful of talent in the coming weeks. We haven't heard any names in particular, but those wrestlers that request to be let go are more likely now to be granted his or her wish. Just recently, Johnny Devine requested his release, and it was granted.
TNA is looking to cut costs, and due to recent contract renewals of some higher paid talent, the company is now more open to the idea of cutting free some talent that TNA hasn't invested alot into. There is also talk backstage that wrestlers who havent't been receiving pushes or a lot of television time trying to get involved in the Young vs. Old angle.
Many of the wrestlers believe they need to be apart of this angle since they are likely to fall through the cracks, ala what happened to many workers in WCW when the New World Order angle dominated the direction of the promotion.
