TNAâs Bound for Glory PPV in anticipation for the new âTNA Impact:

game outside of WWE associated with a major wrestling promotion since
WCW shutdown in 2001. The game will be released for Playstation 3, Xbox
360, Wii, and Playstation 2 all in May.
TNA stars Samoa Joe
and AJ Styles have spent a good amount of time with Midway producers,
fine tuning all of the details in the game. Here is what has been
confirmed for the game:
- The Impact video game will feature 20
TNA performers that are all customizable within the game. Top names on
the game include Kurt Angle, Samoa Joe, Sting, Christian Cage, Jeff

included into the game that is said to be similar to WWE video games.

on decisions that they take during the storyline. Gamers will be able
to choose the look of their character as well as their managers who
will specialize in different fighting styles.
- Mini games

By Greg Adkins

GRAND RAPIDS, MI. - In the Van Andel Arena near the banks of the Grand River, Santino Marella continued to wade deeper and deeper into troubled waters. The Italian Stallion once again leveled an acerbic assessment of Stone Cold Steve Austins acting in the action movie The Condemned, which was recently released on DVD.
The former Intercontinental Champion even crooned a bitter tune
penned especially for the former WWE Champion, to the harmony of Amy
Winehouses Rehab:
Try to make me watch The Condemned, I say No, No, No. Its a sad fact, Stone Cold cant act. He should Go, Go, Go.
Its a mystery why the obstinate Marella keeps poking his fingers
inside the Texas Rattlesnakes cage and flipping him the bird. But as
anybody whos ever possessed the poor sense to antagonize Austin knows,
its only a matter of time before the rattlesnake draws blood.
And who could blame him for biting back? Here is a list of Marellas greatest hits regarding the six-time WWE Champion:
[Stone Cold Steve Austin], when it comes to your acting, the fact of the matter is, we are all condemned.
Dont worry, Stone Cold, Im sure there is a job for you
somewhere in some dinner theatre, or you can play Mr. Belding if Saved
by the Bell ever does a movie. But just leave the acting to
professionals.
If Stone Cold has something hed like to tell me, he can come
here and tell me himself. In fact, he can tell me on the street, in the
grocery store or he can come here to Raw, and he can tell me himself.
Santino, Santino, Santino. Marellas inflammatory words will no doubt result in a painful finale for the Italian.
In other developments on Raw:
Glamazon Era interrupted
Beth Phoenix made her Raw debut as the newly-crowned Womens Champion after she captured the title from Candice
Michelle at No Mercy. After promising to usher in the Era of the
Glamazon at No Mercy, Phoenixs plans to steamroll over all opponents
hit a speed bump. The Glamazon teamed up with Melina and Jillian Hall to tackle Mickie James, Maria
and the former Womens Champion, Candice. Once the bell sounded,
Candice proved that while she may have lost her title, she hasnt lost
her pride. As Phoenix had her powerful hands full with Mickie James
outside the ring, the Candy-coated Diva pinned Hall for the victory.
In a Snit
After last weeks jealousy-fueled cheap shot by Santino Marella, Val Venis
could not wait to shut the Italians pizza-pie hole. But rather than
face Venis in the ring, Marella arranged for the former adult-film star
to face off against Snitsky,
a Superstar whos been lurking around the Raw locker room for weeks,
itching to get his meaty paws on an opponent, any opponent. The
colossus channeled his considerable rage at the X-rated Superstar,
punishing Venis for having the audacity to defend himself. The money
shot came when Snitsky pump-handled slammed Venis and covered for the
three-count.
Kill or be Kilt
The Highlanders are so eager for an opportunity at the World Tag
Team Championships, the cousins McAllister were looking for a short
cut. But Paul London & Brian Kendrick
were determined to head Rory and Robbie off at the pass. The
high-flyers faced off against the Highlanders in a bout to determine
which team would move one step closer to a title match with reigning
Champions Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch. The Highlanders, who had mercilessly attacked London & Kendrick two weeks earlier, overpowered the smaller duo for the win.
Game Over
Triple H
is no ordinary man. Hes more like a machine, fueled by pride,
determination and gallons of rebellion. But even a machine has limits.
After competing in three WWE Championship matches the night before at No Mercybeating Randy Orton and Umaga
before falling victim to Orton in the third and final boutThe Game was
forced to face off against both Umaga and Orton in a Handicap Match.
Arranged by a vengeful Mr. McMahon, the combined forces of a Legend
Killer and a Samoan Bulldozer
proved too much for the Game and his injured ribs to overcome. Even
after Orton left the ring, Umaga stayed behind to further punish a
beaten down Triple H. The Samoan Bulldozers relentless attack ensured
that bad blood will continue to flow between he and the Game.
Hardy Takes Off
Two of the brightest Superstars in all of WWE faced off when Intercontinental Champion Jeff Hardy and Mr. Kennedy
battled in a non-title match. Hardy managed to eke out a victory over
Kennedy during a brief moment of overconfidence by the Green Bay, Wis.
native in a physical, hotly-contested war. Perhaps the Rainbow-haired
Warrior moved himself up the ladder of contention for the WWE
Championship.

DAYTON, Ohio Motorcycle enthusiast Chuck Palumbo is usually the one building a masterpiece in his garage; on Friday Night SmackDown, however, The Masterpiece took apart the powerful Californian.
Moments after Palumbo stayed undefeated with an impressive Full Throttle win over Ace Steele, Chris Masters came from out of nowhere and blindsided Chuck. The extra-powerful Masterpiece then applied his dreaded Master Lock, a hold that has only ever been broken once. Palumbo tried to fight his way out of Masters strong grip, but just like 99.9 percent of Masters other victims, he eventually found himself down and out on the mat, thanks to The Masterpieces punishing full nelson. Once the damage was done, Masters repeatedly yelled, you shouldnt have messed with me Chuck, because thats what happens!
It was the first time since his arrival on SmackDown that Palumbo has found himself in this position, and theres no telling what will happen if and when these two powerhouses from southern California next hook up inside the ring. Watch The Masterpiece attack Palumbo
Down-home debut
After weeks of introductions to our fans, Jesse & Festus finally made their long-awaited SmackDown in-ring debut in Dayton. Just as Jesse promised, Festus was all business inside the squared circle; the seemingly placid and harmless country boy went from bumpkin to wrecking ball once the bell rang, finishing off the team Mike Tolar & Chad Collyer by nailing Collyer with an impressive looking drop-slam. Once the bell rang again, though, Festus returned to his seemingly hypnotic state as Jesse praised his efforts. Watch Jesse & Festus victorious debut
A Noble roll
Jamie Noble also continued his winning ways, defeating Jimmy Wang Yang in an exciting cruiserweight battle. Both men battled back and forth, but Noble was able to catch the high-flying redneck in his signature gutbuster for the pinfall. Noble is now 2-for-2 since Acting SmackDown General Manager Vickie Guerrero made Hornswoggle abdicate the Cruiserweight Championship two weeks ago, and his latest victory may put him in the drivers seat on the road to crowning a new champion.
Big Red Beatdown
Kane was also on the winning track this week, dominating the self-proclaimed Future Hall of Famer Kenny Dykstra. Even the presence of his girlfriend, Victoria, outside the ring couldnt help poor Dykstra, whose recent hard luck continued when he succumbed to a vicious chokeslam.
Moments after the match ended, our fans saw Vickie Guerrero make a blockbuster tag team match for next week, pitting MVP & Matt Hardy against Kane & Undertaker. See what Undertaker & Kane had to say in a WWE Mobile on AT&T Exclusive
Long road to recovery
Our fans finally heard some good news on the condition of General Manager Theodore Long this week. While talking to the mystery woman who attacked Torrie Wilson last week, Acting GM Vickie Guerrero revealed that Long is finally out of his coma. However, hes still in no condition to return to work, so Vickie will remain in charge of SmackDown for the foreseeable future. Surely, however, Vickie joins our fans and everyone in WWE in sending their best wishes to Long for a quick and full recovery.
David vs. Goliath
Just 48 hours before he faces Finlay at No Mercy, Rey Mysterio faced the biggest challenge of his career literally by taking on The Great Khali in SmackDowns main event. The overmatched Mysterio who gave up 21 inches and over 250 pounds to the Punjabi giant gave it his all against Khali, and looked to be in the drivers seat until Finlay interfered, causing a disqualification. Finlay & Khalis 2-on-1 attack was cut short however, as the giants No Mercy opponent, Batista, ran to the ring to help Mysterio. The Animal said earlier in the night that he couldnt wait for the Punjabi Prison Match, and may have helped himself gain the upper hand by nailing Khali with a chair. Read the full story
The Captain makes it happen
Matt Hardy & MVP may not be able to get along too well, but theyve been impressive as WWE Tag Team Champions. The two continued bickering after MVP cheated to defeat Matt in a push-up contest, but somehow, SmackDowns Odd Couple held it together to once again retain the gold by defeating Deuce & Domino. Of course, it wasnt without a signature shortcut from MVP, whose low blow on Domino allowed Hardy to nail the Twist of Fate for the win. Next week, these two will have to step up their game even more, as when MVP tried to get Hardy vs. Undertaker made, he instead got his team a match next week against The Phenom and his brother, Kane. NoDQ.com > WWE > Huge update on HBK's future with WWE Posted by Bobby Spade on 10/02/2007 at 02:58 PM
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Shawn Michaels has been telling Triple H that he is on the fence about returning and really doesn't know how much wrestling he wants to do. He said his family is his top priority, his knees are in bad shape, and is devoting more of his time to religion, which is his passion right now.
Triple H has been trying to convince Michaels to return to television, even though he isn't ready to wrestle, due to a lack of depth on the roster. HBK hasn't opted for it.
It appears a key issue in the possible return of Shawn Michaels to WWE will be if he can secure a reduced travel schedule.
Cena injured on Monday Night Raw Written: October 2, 2007CLEVELAND No matter how serious the injury, one way or another Ill be ready to compete on Sunday. John Cena in the locker room after Raw
During his match with Mr. Kennedy Monday night at Raw, WWE Champion John Cena was injured. As Randy Orton attacked Cena after the match, Jim Ross commented on The Champ's condition.
"It looked like Cena was injured earlier - his shoulder against Mr. Kennedy," Ross said on the air.
If Cena was hurt, the injury was undoubtedly worsened by Ortons brutal attack, which included two RKOs and an assault with steel ring steps.
The extent of The Champs injury is unknown. As a precaution, Cena headed to Birmingham, Ala., Monday night to be evaluated by Dr. James Andrews.
Stay with WWE.com for further updates on Cenas condition as they become available.

NoDQ.com > WWE > Breaking: John Cena with possible serious injury Posted by Bobby Spade on 10/02/2007 at 12:54 AM
The following is from PWInsider.com:
Details are still sketchy but the word coming from backstage at the Raw taping is that WWE champion John Cena is believed to have suffered a torn right pectoral muscle during his main event match against Ken Kennedy. He is tentatively scheduled to undergo a MRI tomorrow to examine the severity of the injury. I don't have to tell anyone reading this what a major blow this would be to the entire company if Cena needs to be out for any extended period of time.
The injury appeared to happen during a botched hiptoss on Kennedy that ended awkwardly with Kennedy landing atop Cena. Cena then nailed an armdrag. The two ended up in the corner, which led to a clean break. Cena backed up to the opposite corner and was obviously favoring his arm immediately. Cena gutted through the match and post-bout angle with Randy Orton, where he was laid out following a RKO on the announcer's table.
Cena is scheduled to main event the No Mercy PPV this Sunday in Chicago, Illinois against Orton in a Last Man Standing Man.

Results: No Mercy for Phoenix By Greg Adkins October 1, 2007CLEVELAND Womens Champion Candice Michelle continues to ruffle the feathers of rival Beth Phoenix. When it was announced that the two Divas will once again face off for the title at No Mercy, the Glamazon came to the ring to educate our fans.
Being a Glamazon means Im just as beautiful as I am dangerous, Phoenix told the audience.
As if to prove it, she bullied announcer Lilian Garcia into the ring where Garcia pronounced her the new Womens Champion even before the title match had taken place. Garcia, who has a new album coming out next Tuesday, was understandably reluctant.
That reticence didnt go over quite so well with the Glamazon, who questioned how effective Garcia would be promoting her new album with a crushed throat.
Just as Phoenix constricted her python grip around Garcias delicate neck, Candice Michelle stormed the ring and ripped the Glamazon away. The Candy-coated Diva then delivered a severe clothesline that sent Phoenix out of the ring. The incident left little doubt that the fur will continue to fly between these two, especially this Sunday at No Mercy.
In other developments on Raw:
Taking Flight
Intercontinental Champion Jeff Hardy and tag partners Paul London & Brian Kendrick were pitted against Shelton Benjamin and World Tag Team Champions Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch. As expected, the team of Hardy and London & Kendrick took to the skies early, flying outside of the ring and swooping onto their opponents like pterodactyls.
To end the match, Hardy dropped a Swanton Bomb on Cade and pinned him for the three-count.
Rhodes Redux
Cody Rhodes seems determined to earn the respect of extreme machine Hardcore Holly. For the second Monday night in a row, the son of a son of a plumber challenged the six-time Hardcore Champion. And for the second Monday night in a row, Rhodes showed heaps of heart, only to be defeated by the veteran.
Naked Ambition
After overcoming her humiliating shower scene with Hornswoggle, Melina came out this week to battle fellow Diva Mickie James. The two former Womens Champions each dodged several near-pins when it seemed that Melina was finally set to score the victory. Just before she could, however, the lusty leprechaun popped up from under the ring and distracted Melina long enough to hand Mickie James the victory. The infuriated Diva chased the little guy under the ring only to be humiliated once again when he emerged clutching her form-fitting outfit and leaving her naked under the squared circle. (WATCH)
Hammer Time

RK-Oh no he didnt!
In their first ever matchup, WWE Champion John Cena entered the ring to battle the athleticism and arrogance of Mr. Kennedy. The loudmouth from Green Bay, Wisc., showed hes got the chops to back up his boasts, but Cena eventually felt the need to shut his opponents pie hole once and for all with a STFU. But if Cena was looking ahead to Sundays No Mercy match, Randy Orton was determined to blur his vision. Story... | WATCH

Results: All things big and small By Lennie DiFino September 28, 2007INDIANAPOLIS The half-man, half-amazing, one-half of the WWE Tag Team Champions, MVP, celebrated his one-year anniversary as a SmackDown Superstar (check out MVPs one year tribute page) by throwing a party in his VIP Lounge. Matt Hardy visited his co-champion and the United States Champion bearing several gifts a music video commemorating the Ballin Superstars less-than-greatest ring moments; an insulting toast over a bottle of Cristal; and the gift of competition, in the formidable form of Kane. A shocked MVP entered the match with his own game plan, and when Kane looked for the chokeslam to seal the victory, the Franchise Playa kicked the Big Red Monster in the family bling, resulting in a life-saving disqualification. Watch Matt Hardy help MVP celebrate his anniversary
JBL jibes, Rey retaliates, Finlay flattens After being attacked verbally by JBL and physically by Finlay last week, Rey Mysterio entered Conseco Fieldhouse intent on setting the record straight with SmackDowns color commentator. During another face-to-face interview in the ring, an irate JBL began to bully and push Mysterio. This time, though, Rey pushed back, delivering the 619 to the man whom he forced into retirement more than a year ago. Finlay suddenly entered the ring and unleashed an attack of his own, clobbering Mysterio in the skull with his shillelagh. For two consecutive weeks, the Irishmans vicious, calculated actions left Mysterio laid out in the ring. WWE.com Exclusive: Watch Rey inside the ring moments after Finlays assault
Punjabi Prison talk Hopefully, Rey Mysterio will have fully recovered when SmackDown rolls into Dayton, Ohio next week, as it was revealed last Friday that hell face The Great Khali in ring action. During an interview with the Punjabi goliath, translator Ranjin Singh brought up the contest as more of a warning for the World Heavyweight Champion, Batista, whom Khali will meet inside a Punjabi Prison Match at No Mercy. On Khalis behalf, Singh noted that Rey Mysterio could conceivably run away next week. You, Batista, on the other hand, have no such option inside the Punjabi Prison . Inside the Punjabi Prison, The Great Khali will show no fear. The Great Khali will have no remorse. The Great Khali will have no mercy.
Earlier in the evening, the World Heavyweight Champion admitted to SmackDown announcers Michael Cole and JBL that he had no real strategy going into the Punjabi Prison Match. But he welcomed the insurmountable challenge that awaited him. As he pointed out, Its dangerous locking me in a cage. Its dangerous backing me into a corner . When you back me into a corner, I lash out. And when I lash out, people get hurt. If he wants this World Heavyweight Title back, hell have to pry it out of my dead hands.
Revving it up Last Friday, Chuck Palumbo continued whats shaping up to be an impressive winning streak with another decisive victory over Kenny Dykstra. Palumbo has been on a tear since rejoining SmackDown, and his Full Throttle offense has kept Dykstra on the down side of their encounters. Will the competitive hunger of the young lion Palumbo ride on past Dykstra, or can the self-proclaimed future Hall of Famer find a way to break through eventually?
Cruiser-what?! Jamie Noble ended his own recent streak of embarrassments when he defeated Shannon Moore on SmackDown. But there was much bigger Cruiserweight news afoot Friday night, coming from the office of Vickie Guerrero, who Mr. McMahon appointed as SmackDowns Acting General Manager earlier that evening. Shouldering the responsibilities of Theodore Long who remains in a coma in an Atlanta medical facility, following the massive heart attack he suffered at his wedding a week earlier Vickie voiced deep concerns for Hornswoggles wellbeing, pointing out that being Mr. McMahons illegitimate son and Cruiserweight Champion of the World made him too large a target. Therefore, she ordered the poor leprechaun champion to abdicate the Cruiserweight Title. How will Mr. McMahons lillegitimate son fare without his gold? Watch the video
Torrie terrorized SmackDowns Torrie Wilson endured a trying Friday night In her own right. First, she was unable to find a way to match Victorias viciousness in the squared circle, losing their one-on-one match. Moments later, a mystery woman appeared in the ring and absolutely brutalized the SmackDown Diva. Who is this mystery woman, and why did she attack Torrie? Watch the mystery woman attack...
Deadman rises, Henry falls After being out of action more than four months at the powerful hands of Mark Henry, Undertaker made a triumphant return to Friday Night SmackDown. Though he had already defeated Henry at Unforgiven only six days earlier, The Phenom gained further retribution against the self-proclaimed Silverback for costing him the World Heavyweight Championship last May. The Deadman systematically decimated the Worlds Strongest Man in a physically brutal confrontation, sending a message to all of SmackDowns Superstars: Undertaker is back, and better than ever.
World Championship Wrestling
World Wrestling Federation/Entertainment
In plaats daarvan zette Long Helms in een champion vs. champion match tegen United States Champion Chris Benoit.

Trivia
Determined as Tommy Dreamer was heading into the next stage of the Elimination Chase this past week on ECW, the ECW Original revealed his source of additional much more meaningful motivation: His new bandana.
But according to Dreamer, theres much more to his newly donned headwear than decorative cloth.
Last week, an inspirational little boy gave me a bandana to wear and I wore it to the ring, said the ECW Original, referring to the Fatal Four Way Match on Sept. 18. This week, I called him up, asked him for another bandana and he gave me a red one. Hes fighting for something greater in this world: His life.
According to Dreamer, he met this incredible young man just weeks ago at a WWE event. Suffering from a brain tumor, the boy wears a bandana to hide his scars. As a shout out to him and others struggling with physical ailments, the ECW Original will don a bandana to the ring. (Read more in Dreamers brand-new column)
Dreamers ill-stricken supporter has reinforced the Superstars desire to prevail and reminded the ECW Original of just how privileged he is to compete and to have his health. If this less fortunate, yet brave member of the WWE Fan Nation can endure, then so can the 36-year-old Dreamer.
Maybe Ive got a little luck on my side after all, said the moved Original. Ive suffered a lot of losses on ECW on Sci Fi, and there have been a few moments where I havent been so sure I could survive. But I still have plenty of fight left in me.
Enduring the first two rounds of the Elimination Chase to No Mercy, Dreamer is more anxious and hungry than ever to earn an opportunity to become ECW Champion one more time. In the days of the original ECW, he captured the ECW Title in his careers shining moment then lost the gold in the same night. Dreamer has reached the top and wants to be at that spot once again.
This is the second chance in my life; this is all I want, he explained. ECW was and is my life, and now I want the new generation to see what else Ive got. I want to be able to shine one more time an exclamation point to my career.
And he certainly can achieve that goal. With No Mercy a mere week away, Dreamer could become the man who will meet the Straightedge Superstar for the gold live on pay-per-view. Hes survived even shined in both a Fatal Four Way and a Triple Threat Match involving ECWs most athletic competitors. All that remains is a one-on-one confrontation on ECW on Sci Fi with the cunning Elijah Burke, who Dreamer believes has earned tainted victories these past few weeks.
Elijah is an opportunist, he explained. I hit Stevie with a frog splash last week [in the first Elimination Chase match], and this week, I dropped Thorn with the DDT. Burke got the pin both times because hes an opportunist. But, opportunity doesnt always strike.
Though opportunity may not strike for the Experience this week, Dreamer certainly will and strike hard. Even without his symbolic bandana tightly wrapped around his scarred head, the ECW Original is a tireless warrior whose own heart pumps the lifeblood of the Land of the Extreme. Now, with the hopeful eyes of one very special fan watching Dreamer in action this coming Tuesday, the ECW Original may very well be indestructible.
Will Dreamer become the No. 1 contender for the ECW Championship? Will he earn his ticket to a title opportunity this week on ECW on Sci Fi? Tune in this Tuesday at 10/9 CT to find out.

There are several major news items to report from Thursdays iMPACT! broadcast on SpikeTV:
- During a backstage interview, the Voodoo Kin Mafia promised their fun and games were over in TNA and went on to insult the fans. The VKM also promised that Roxxi Laveaux would be a force in the TNA womens division. ECW Champion CM Punk and actress Milla Jovovich have a couple of things
in common: Both have legions of fans and know something about kicking
ass. To the Straightedge Superstars surprise, he found out he had even
more in common with the Resident Evil: Extinction star when he had an
opportunity to talk to her for this weeks Superstar to Superstar:
CM Punk: Your new film Resident Evil: Extinction was released last
Friday, Sept. 21. How is this film different from the other Resident
Evil films? What can the fans expect?
Milla Jovovich: Well, I have to say I was a little skeptical about
doing a third Resident Evil because I wasnt totally happy with the
second one. So, I was like, OK, where can we really take this? But
once I read the script, I was so impressed because I felt like this
movie is just a whole new feeling. It really stands on its own. Youve
got this incredible landscape, which was so cool, and it felt so
different because theres a whole generation of young people that dont
know the other movies. We also have amazing set pieces, like Las Vegas
half-buried in the sand and evil corporations, like laboratories, that
are kept underground, [and] these incredible computer generated maps.
You know, the set has just changed so drastically. We have amazing
special effects and also some really great moments between characters
and some great relationships. My character, Alice, gets cloned by the
evil corporation, and that was really interesting as well just to be
able to play my character in all of these different ways. I just think
there are some really great elements to it [the movie] that just make
it really fresh and new.
Punk: You mentioned that you had to play clones of yourself. Was
each one played differently than how you normally played Alice? Was
that a big challenge?
Jovovich: It was interesting. I felt like there were total
differences, like each clone had to have a little bit different of a
personality from the last one because each person is definitely
different. And what makes the original Alice so special is that she is
who she is because of her experiences. The other clones dont have the
experiences yet, so, of course, they end up getting killed over time
which is kind of scary for me to have to reenact my own death a few
times. Its really .
Punk: Yeah, its got to be weird.
Jovovich: The whole experience makes for a very creepy, surreal movie.
Just looking at all of the global issues going on right now to see
this computer generated world, where you see things like Las Vegas half
buried in the sand is just really chilling. Its also really
interesting that we even had a lot of our set pieces built in the sand
in Mexico. Its really cool because as actors you dont really get to
see the special effects. But this time, we actually got to see Las
Vegas buried in the sand. So we had the Eiffel Tower, the Venetian
Hotel, and a bunch of real, recognizable landmarks.
Punk: So, it made it easier then instead of having to pretend and work in front of a green screen?
Jovovich: You know, working in front of a green screen is always
really challenging because you definitely have to stretch your
imagination, and its always a bit disconcerting to be able to act in
front of or next to nothing. So, anything that you can do to react or
make it more organic and natural is very helpful.
Punk: Im sure. And from what Ive seen on TV and in the previews
is that there are some pretty intense action scenes with you beating
people up, throwing knives and all kinds of stuff. Out of all of the
scenes that you did, which one was your favorite to film?
Jovovich: Probably filming my clone sequences because I had to
revisit some of our old sets. My clones were going through this test
grid, and the evil corporations rebuilt a couple of scenarios that
weve seen in the first movie, and she has to go through these things
over and over again. So, its like having one of those bad, reoccurring
dreams over and over again. You really get this frustration watching
the movie because you feel really bad for her. Shes literally waking
up in the same scenario again and again. She was really persecuted by
these people and it makes it for a really interesting character.
Punk: Cool. Well, in this movie you kick a lot of ass and you look great doing it.
Jovovich: Thank you. [Laughs]
Punk: Youve been in action movies before, and I think you are a
great actress. Youre always gorgeous and muscular and always ready to
beat people up. How do you prepare physically for this character or any
other character?
Jovovich: I love to do a lot of training. In this particular film,
we did three months of training to learn the fight sequences and also
to do weapons training with the knives that Im using in the film. Its
always one of my favorite reasons to do action films because Ive
always been a Sci-Fi junkie, and always loved martial arts ever since I
was a kid. My dad and I used to have Kung Fu Sundays and watch all of
the old Chinese cinemas. So, Ive always been a big martial arts fan.
For me, to be able to train with real professionals and with some of
the best in the business is always really interesting and challenging,
and also a great honor. So, I really love it. I think because the women
that I play in these action movies are so strong and disciplined, I
think its important for me to try and emulate that in my own personal
life. I try really hard to work really long days to discipline myself
to just try to get in their mindframe because if their mindframe is
good, they must have trained 10 times harder. And we have 10 to 12-hour
workdays, and the days just fly by because you are always learning
something so interesting and new, like flying through the air, doing
backflips or whatever. Its really incredible.
Punk: It sounds like we have the same schedule. I cant get enough of it myself.
Jovovich: [Laughs]
Punk: Now, you say that youre a Sci Fi junkie. I wrestle on ECW, Tuesday nights on Sci Fi.
Jovovich: I know! You have a lot of fans here in Los Angeles.
Punk: Thats awesome. Youve been acting since you were 11,
[youre] a well-known supermodel, an actress, a singer, [and] a
musician. You are all of these things. To me, its awesome that there
are strong female role models out there that can do all of this stuff.
I think its super sexy that you can do all of these things, and you
are fantastic at all it. Out of all of those things, which do you enjoy
doing more?
Jovovich: Ive always been really organic with the things that I
do and in my career. I love to act for sure because my mother was an
actress in Russia. She was a big actress in the 70s, and was a big
star there. I always knew that Id follow in her footsteps since I was
a little girl. I think that everything else is just a branch off of the
same tree. As a model, I was acting then because when youre 11 years
old and youre modeling for these fashion magazines, youre really
acting just like a grown up. For me, it was kind of the same
difference. With music, I mean, Ive never been the perfect singer in
any way, shape or form, but Ive been more of a character or a
personality. I love writing. So for me, music was always about
performing onstage. It was always like writing in a diary for me when I
would write songs. I think that being an actress is what spawned
everything that I do because its really just entertaining and
performing. And being creative is what I love. I have a lot of
friends that are musicians and theyll come over, [and] well make
dinner and drink a few glasses of wine or have some beers, play some
guitars and jam! And that turns into, Hey, thats really good, lets
finish that song! Then we end up having about six or seven different
songs and just perform. [Laughs] So, its always just kind of natural
how it happens.
Punk: I used to be in a band before I wrestled.
Jovovich: Yeah? Thats awesome. Its always a relaxed, good time,
and I dont do music professionally anymore really. I did a few
professional shows this year, overseas, one over in Russia and one in
Paris. Its always very casual because I feel like for me, music is
just so natural. If I start promoting it, getting too involved in the
reviews and the this and the that, it gets depressing. It gets to be
real business, and I dont want it to be like business for myself in
that sense. Music has always been something that I do for myself. I
actually release demos on my Web site: www.millaj.com,
where I let people download my songs for free. Its fun, and I get a
lot of support from my fans, and I dont need to go through the hell of
promoting records.
Punk: Youve seen that I have a lot of tattoos. Some might
consider my tattoos good luck charms, even though I dont believe in
luck at all. Do you have any tattoos, or good luck charms for that
matter?
Jovovich: Well, I pray. I am definitely a spiritual person. Im
Eastern European I was born in the Ukraine. If you go to the Ukraine,
and see my home city Kiev, its actually a city of churches. Its a
very beautiful, spiritual place, so Ive always felt very close to God
in so many ways. Ive always felt a real magic in life. Even in the
fantastic movies that Ive been in, its always been an extension from
the magic that Ive felt in my everyday life. As long as I can keep
that childlike essence in myself, I think that I can have luck in that
sense because it makes me look at life in a more fun way so its not so
serious all the time. Just to enjoy each moment as it comes and to try
not to sweat the small stuff too much and to see the big picture and
appreciate the little things in life too, which are much more magical
than the big things could ever be.
Punk: Yeah, its definitely the small stuff thats important. Im
a huge music fan, and everywhere I go, I bring my iPod. The Resident
Evil movies, in my opinion, have always had a huge soundtrack and the
soundtrack has always been a big part of the movies. This year, Ive
noticed that you have the band, Throwdown, on the sound track. Its a
friend of mines band; they are a great straightedge, hardcore band. I
want to know what you listen to currently. Whats on your iPod?
Jovovich: Ive been listening to a lot of old music recently.
Everything from the 50s, like crooning, doo wop and also some 70s
music. Ive been playing a lot of America. Strange Magic is something
thats been playing on repeat.
Punk: Thats so interesting
Jovovich: [Laughs] Im also really into Olivia Newton-John. I play
so much stuff, and I have a lot of great friends that send me demos,
too. I also have friends on MySpace that have great songs that you
cant really buy. I like to listen to a lot of my friends music as
well. I have a pretty eclectic musical selection. But lately, Ive been
on a 70s kick.
Punk: Thats cool. So, whats in your future? Youve said that
youre pregnant, and I wish you the best of luck with that. I hope that
you have a very healthy baby. But whats in the future for you?
Jovovich: Well, actually Im leaving in just a few hours to go to
Germany to do a small part in my friends movie and hes actually the
godfather of my baby. Its going to be a lot of fun because I get to
play myself, which is neat. Then, Im going to have the baby, and next
year, I am in a film called Winter Queen that I am going to do in St.
Petersburg. I was supposed to do the movie this year, but because of
the pregnancy, I didnt finish it. Its based on a Russian, Victorian
thriller. It should be a lot of fun because its a period piece, which
is a nice change for me from the action stuff.
Punk: Thats very cool. Thank you so much for the interview. I
have just one more question for you since I am a huge fan. Could you
just say, Big Bada Boom for me?
Jovovich: Big Bada Boom! [Laughs]
Punk: I dont want you to hate me because I asked you to say that but I had to.
Jovovich: Are you kidding me? Thank you! I havent said that in
ages. Thank you so much for taking the time out to interview me and
good luck with everything!
Punk: Remember, luck is for losers. [Laughs] Alright, Milla. Thank you so much for your time.
