A report by the LA Times suggests WWE is days away from announcing a network change for WWE Smackdown. Over the past decade Smackdown has been a mainstay on UPN and CW network before making the move to MyNetworkTV in 2008. LA Times sources say Smackdown is moving to NBC Universal's Syfy, the same network that carries WWE NXT. The move could usher in a new partnership between NBC's Dick Ebersol and the upcoming WWE network. Here is an excerpt from LATimes.com:
"Although terms were not disclosed, My Network TV was shelling out roughly $20 million a year for 'Smackdown.' Syfy's price tag is believed to be closer to $30 million a year.
Although 'Smackdown' is more than 10 years old, it still does very well with men, particularly the 18-34 demographic, and generally averages about 3.5 million viewers overall. 'Smackdown' will continue to air on Friday nights when it moves to Syfy later this year, most likely in either late September or early October."
WWE results from Liverpool: Cena vs. Sheamus Posted by Chris Kaufman on 04/11/2010 at 06:39 PM
Thanks to Khyle Deen for the results...
Match 1: Evan Bourne vs Chavo Guerrero - quick match, good opener to get the crowd going, Bourne won with a SSP
Match 2: Dos Caras vs Christian - nobody knew who DC was, crowd was chanting who are ya?, for most of the match, good offense by DC but Christian won with an Unprettier, i enjoyed that match
After the match, Sheamus laid out Christian with that kick to the face, cut a short promo saying that it was a preview of what he'll do to Cena later, slated Liverpool's football (soccer to you) team
Chris Masters came out and did a Masterlock Challenge - Hornswoggle came out and just knocked him around, boring but it was for the kids so...
Match 3: Triple threat for the WWE Diva's Title: Maryse vs Kelly vs Eve - Kelly & Eve double teamed mostly, they both hung out the ring for certain spots, Eve did some random move on Kelly, Maryse re-enters the ring as Eve pins, pushes Eve out the ring and pins Kelly for the win
Match 4: Legacy vs Randy Orton - Legacy out first, cut a brief promo warming up the crowd, Rhodes had protective headgear and said he needed it due to the Punt at WM26, Orton out, decent match roughly halfway through the show, Orton won, but still made Legacy look good (Orton didnt pose, i was a little annoyed)
Match 5: William Regal vs MVP, good match, not too short but it was a little match, Regal won
Match 6: WWE Unified Tag Team Championships: ShowMiz out first, cut a good promo, Miz building heat, slating Liverpool, saying him and Show were bigger than The Beatles, they were facing Mark Henry & Kofi Kingston, typical match you'd expect from the 4 of them, ShowMiz retained
Match 7: WWE Title: John Cena vs Sheamus - i thought this was the best of the night, Sheamus dominated, lots of near falls by Sheamus, Cena bounced back, but then Sheamus got more near falls, then Cena bounced back, usual moves for the win
- Ted DiBiase was busted open at last night's RAW live event in Ireland during a match with Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes. Ted ended up receiving several staples in his head to close the wound.
Eric Bischoff says he doesn't hate Daniels Posted by Mark Virginia on 04/11/2010 at 06:34 PM
On his Facebook, someone asked Eric Bischoff whether Daniels was released because he hated him, and Bischoff responded:
Actually Antuan, nothing is farther from the truth. I didnt know he was going to be released until I read it on my Facebook page. Hes a good talent and sure he will do well in ROH.
Since WWE is a PG rated show, blood is not allowed to appear at any match unless by accident.
Fans during the latest Superstars episode were unhappy about a delay in the latest episode of Superstars. This was due to blood on Chavo's head as the latter suffered a minor cut on his head in his match with Kofi.
The official delayed the match to take care of it and since those present were sounding their unhappiness, the announcers tried to make excuses as to why this was being done. Michael Cole stated that if Chavo's blood entered in his eyes, he could go blind.
This also happened to Edge recently during a SmackDown! taping.
It looks as if Ezekiel Jackson was injured at WWE's live event in Scotland. According to a fan report that was sent to us, he took an odd spill to the floor and was covered as soon as he got back in the ring. He was then helped to the back after the match by Billy Kidman (WWE agent) and others. It looked to be a knee injury. We hope to have more on this soon.
TNA star Kurt Angle will be taking some time off following his cage match with Ken Anderson at the upcoming Lockdown PPV on April 18th. Angle wrote on Twitter:
"I will be taking some time off for a month to heal up, pursue more movies and promote Anglefoods at foodiesfoodclub.com. I am NOT injured. At Lockdown I plan on kicking Anderson's *ss, then I'm gonna relax for a few weeks. Be back soon."

Edge vs. Chris Jericho ended in a Double Count-out (PHOTOS | WATCH) At WrestleMania, Edge battled Chris Jericho for the World Title. But on this night, both veterans were fighting for a chance to face newly-crowned World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger at Extreme Rules.
After a long, gritty battle it looked like The Ultimate Opportunist had Jericho where he wanted, as he stood poised to deliver a Spear. However, the former champion leaped over Edge to avoid the devastating maneuver. Afterward, Jericho dashed out of the ring. Edge wasnt far behind.
The fight continued outside the ring, spilling out into the WWE Universe. Undaunted by the refs 10-count which ended the bout both Superstars continued to slug it out. The battle finally came to an end back inside the ring, where The Rated-R Superstar finally decimated Jericho with a venomous Spear.

(Extreme Rules preview)
World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger def. John Morrison (Non-Title) (PHOTOS | WATCH) After being mocked by John Morrison for how he talks, the new World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger launched a vigorous offense. Things came to an end for The Friday Night Delight when the champion swept his legs from under him as he stood on the ring apron, sending him crashing hard to the arena floor. The "All-American-American" then pushed his defenseless body back into the ring and crushed him with a Gutwrench Powerbomb.
Shad Gaspard says this is my time (PHOTOS | WATCH) If there was any doubt whether Cryme Tyme is no more, big Shad Gaspard removed it with another vicious beating of his former partner, JTG. Shad advised the WWE Universe to take what you deserve and dont let people like JTG stand in your way.
Intercontinental Champion Drew McIntyre def. Matt Hardy (Non-Title) (PHOTOS | WATCH) For the second week in a row, Matt Hardy paid a painful price for tangling with the Intercontinental Champion, who still holds the distinction of having only one official loss. After smashing Hardy face-first into the exposed steel ring apron, McIntyre finished him off with a devastating Double Underhook DDT to the arena floor, leading to an easy pinfall.
The Hart Dynasty def. The Dudebusters (PHOTOS | WATCH) Just like they did last week on WWE Superstars, The Hart Dynasty picked up a win over Caylen Croft & Trent Barreta. It was big David Hart Smith who ended the bout when he made Barreta tap out to the Sharpshooter.
Dolph Ziggler put Josh Mathews to sleep (WATCH) Who says commentating in the WWE isnt a risky endeavor? After putting the massive Great Khali to sleep last week, Dolph Ziggler silenced an inquisitive Josh Mathews with the same debilitating sleeper hold.
Triple H missed another WWE live event on the European tour last night in Glasgow. At first it was thought he was missing from the tour due to Stephanie McMahon's pregnancy, but Dave Meltzer notes that Triple H is suffering from a neck injury which could also explain his absence. No further details are known at this point.
Former WWE Diva says she was held back Posted by Chris Kaufman on 04/09/2010 at 02:13 PM
Former WWE Maria Kanellis appeared on the "One Sided Ring" podcast this week and said she says WWE holds back their Divas by not giving the division enough exposure or the women a chance to let their personalities across. Here are some highlights of what she said about:
Being held back: "I wasn't allowed to do as much as I wanted to do. I had all these great, creative ideas and was constantly entering them into the WWE creative, but I couldn't use a lot of them," Maria said. "The Divas weren't given enough time, which I think is a horrible, horrible disadvantage that the girls have. I felt like I was held back - all the time.
"I wonder what would really happen if the Divas were given that much time," she said. "I don't know if it's that they think the Divas can't sell tickets, but I truly believe in the Divas division and always will. I think they are missing out on a lot of talent right there."
Being a backstage interviewer for MMA events on HDNet: "That's one reason I'm not sad [WWE] fired me. I got eight minutes of time on an MMA show to just talk to people and that was amazing," she said. "WWE never gave me eight minutes the entire time I was there."
Matt Hardy talks about the chance to "step up" Posted by Chris Kaufman on 04/09/2010 at 10:39 AM
ESPN has a new article up with wrestler quotes from the WWE-THQ Superstars Challenge that took place during Wrestlemania weekend in Phoenix. Matt Hardy said the following about his career:
"I actually have a couple of other ideas for myself in real life as well, but I'm not set on where I want to go just yet. There's going to be some time coming up where guys like The Undertaker and Triple H are going to need to take some time off, and there's going to be opportunities for guys like Matt Hardy and Christian to step up. I'm really motivated and ready to rededicate myself, especially after overcoming such severe injuries."
- Outsports.com has a new article up on Orlando Jordans bi-sexual angle, based on his real life, in TNA.
Regarding Orlando being the first open bi-sexual wrestler, he said, Theres a very small percent of people who empower society on a global basis. Maybe one percent. If everyone was a pioneer, itd make things a lot easier. But thats not the case. And theres a price that comes with being a pioneer, but I would not expect anything less because thats who I am.
What does Jordan look to accomplish with the controversial character in TNA? He said, I really hope this character helps troubled teens, be it [those struggling] because of their race or their sexuality. If this character makes life even just a little bit easier for someone else, then Ill be really happy.
TNA officials aired interest in Roderick Strong when his contract with Ring of Honor expired. However, TNA didn't issue a contract offer and he ended up re-signing with ROH.
On another note, Strong is WWE wrestler Evan 'Matt Sydal' Bourne's roommate in real-life.
Several top WWE superstars were not happy about Jim Ross being off the WrestleMania 26 announcing team. Ross even wrote in his blog that Vince McMahon didn't make any time for him during WrestleMania weekend, which is unfortunate considering how influential Ross has been over the years.
