Goldberg open to one final match at WM 27 Posted by Chris Kaufman on 04/08/2010 at 03:42 PM
In an interview with ESPN.com to promote his new show "Garage Mahal" on the DIY cable network, former WWE & WCW Champion Bill Goldberg says he's open to wrestling one final match at next year's WrestleMania from Atlanta, Georgia.
"It's not something that I'm seeking out to do at 43 years old. But you know, WrestleMania is next year in Atlanta. Hulk Hogan and I put 43,000 people in the Georgia Dome with three days notice. I've got a fairly big following in Atlanta," Goldberg said. "Is it out of the realm of possibility? I'd say no."
Goldberg recently began working with WWE again on a new deal for WWE to use his likeness for merchandise (toys, appearing in WWE video games, etc.) and says he'd put himself back in the spotlight so his young son can see him in action.
"The doors are kind of open to negotiation as far as a merchandising deal. If it leads to something else? It's a wonderful day," Goldberg said."If not, I'm totally content with the way I went out. To be able to get merchandise out there not only satiates the fans but hopefully there have been a lot of people wondering where my merchandise is. The reason why I want to do this is my boy; just trying to be a good father."

Whether WWE will still go forward with that idea remains to be seen.

Batista went for a quick pin but ends up tapping out to Cena's STF after only a minute into the match, which the crowd popped big for.
Cena then called Otunga back to the ring, hit him with the Attitude Adjustment and made him tap out to end the night.

Unified Tag Team Champions Big Show & The Miz def. WWE Champion John Cena & Batista by Count-out ; David Otunga arranged Show-Miz vs. Cena & Otunga (PHOTOS) For the sake of teamwork, John Cena & Batista appeared to try putting animosities behind them. Unfortunately, bad feelings from the last few months came crashing to the fore. In their title match against Unified Tag Team Champions Big Show & The Miz, the WWE Champion and The Animal simply werent content to let bygones be bygones. Instead, Batista left up the ramp, where his partner chased him down and began pummeling him, prompting the tag team bout to end in a Count-out.

Afterward, Sheamus called out Triple H, the man who defeated him at WrestleMania. The Game, however, had learned his lesson. As Sheamus threatened to end his career, Triple H pulled out a sledgehammer and nailed The Celtic Warrior, which sent him scrambling from the ring.
Special guest host, NXT Rookie David Otunga, arranged World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger vs. Randy Orton and Unified Tag Team Champions Big Show & The Miz vs. WWE Champion John Cena & Batista (PHOTOS | WATCH) Jack Swaggers manners may be lacking, but his timing last week proved nearly flawless. The All-American American cashed in his Money in the Bank contract on SmackDown in the wake of the then-World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho suffering a Spear from Edge. After a mere nine seconds against Jericho, Swagger claimed his first World Heavyweight Title.
In his so-called State of the World Heavyweight Championship Address, Swagger took the opportunity to verbally jab WWE Champion John Cena, who responded by challenging the chest-beating braggart to a match. Not content flying under the radar, both Randy Orton and The Miz each demanded that they fight Swagger.
Instead, Raws special guest host, NXT Rookie David Otunga, silenced the raucous row. Otunga, who landed the prime hosting gig by winning an Eight-Man Battle Royal, arranged two matches for later in the evening: Swagger will take on Randy Orton and Unified Tag Team Champions Big Show & Miz will defend their titles against The Champ and his partner Batista!

Former WWE Diva Maria comments on her future Posted by Chris Kaufman on 04/01/2010 at 08:34 PM
In an interview with Alex Marvez, Maria Kanellis said WWE wanting more control over her projects led to her departure from the organization.
The former WWE Diva also noted her unhappiness with WWE for quickly posting news of her release on their website before she had time to tell her family she had been let go.
"People are saying it was about money or this and that," Kanellis told Marvez. "It wasn't. It had to do with my other passions and things I wanted to do alongside WWE. Unfortunately, it didn't work for them."
Though she has much on her plate at the moment, she is not ruling out joining TNA or even Ring of Honor down the road.
"I didn't want to leave when I did," Kanellis said. "Who knows where the road is going to lead me? Maybe a good cause will come up for me to go to TNA or even visit with Ring of Honor. I've always said some of the great talent is on the independent (circuit)."
