What you didn't see on RAW this week
Posted by Chris Kaufman on 04/06/2010 at 12:35 PM

After last night's RAW went off the air, guest host David Otunga came back to the ring while John Cena was still laid out. Otunga said Batista didn't have to wait until Extreme Rules to get his rematch against Cena, he could have it now.

Batista went for a quick pin but ends up tapping out to Cena's STF after only a minute into the match, which the crowd popped big for.

Cena then called Otunga back to the ring, hit him with the Attitude Adjustment and made him tap out to end the night.

    Sheamus def. Kofi Kingston
Eve def. Kelly Kelly, Alicia Fox, Gail Kim, Rosa Mendes, Jillian, Katie Lea and The Bella Twins in a Red Carpet "Dress to Impress" Battle Royal
Unified Tag Team Champions Big Show & The Miz def. WWE Champion John Cena & Batista by Count-out
    Ted DiBiase def. Christian
Randy Orton def. World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger in a Non-Title Match
Unified Tag Team Champions Big Show & The Miz def. WWE Champion John Cena & David Otunga

MOLINE, Ill. – When David “A-List” Otunga won an Eight-Man Battle Royal to earn the honor of special guest host, the NXT Rookie didn’t forget to bring his “A” games to Monday Night Raw.

Unified Tag Team Champions Big Show & The Miz def. WWE Champion John Cena & David Otunga; Batista invoked rematch at Extreme Rules (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Special guest host David Otunga didn’t just burn a bridge tonight, he incinerated it. Having teamed himself with WWE Champion John Cena in a title match against Unified Tag Team Champions Big Show & The Miz, the NXT Rookie turned his back on The Champ. The brazen betrayal allowed Batista to enter the fray and attack Cena mercilessly.

Following a Batista Bomb, The Animal told Cena he was invoking his rematch clause for the WWE Championship at Extreme Rules in a Last Man Standing Match!

David Hasselhoff acts as special guest host next week
The multi-talented David Hasselhoff brings his success as a singer, actor and producer to Monday Night Raw next week when he takes over as special guest host. When it comes to “The Hoff,” there’s no telling what might happen, so tune to catch it all live!

Randy Orton def. World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger in a Non-Title Match (PHOTOS | WATCH)
World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger came up snake eyes – again. For two weeks straight, “The All-American American” has succumbed to the coiled strike of The Viper. In a non-title contest, the newly-minted World Heavyweight Champion failed to capitalize on his momentum from Friday Night SmackDown, while Randy Orton continues to slither to victory.

2010 WWE Draft coming April 26 on a special 3-hour Raw (FULL STORY)
Tune in to Monday Night Raw at 8 p.m. ET on April 26 for a special 3-hour event to witness the unpredictable WWE Draft. Just one night after the Extreme Rules pay-per-view, every Superstar in the WWE Universe is subject to the Draft, which is certain to realign the dynamic of both Raw and SmackDown.

Ted DiBiase def. Christian (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Last week, it became apparent that all is not well in the House of DiBiase. After the Legends Lumberjack Match that he lost to Christian, Ted DiBiase rejected a helping hand from his father, “The Million Dollar Man.” This week, the younger DiBiase elected for a rematch, this time without his father or any WWE Legends in attendance. After berating his WWE Hall of Fame father, DiBiase went on to overcome the challenge of Captain Charisma - and show off his father's Million Dollar Championship, which he brought with him to the ring.

Unified Tag Team Champions Big Show & The Miz def. WWE Champion John Cena & Batista by Count-out ; David Otunga arranged Show-Miz vs. Cena & Otunga (PHOTOS)
For the sake of teamwork, John Cena & Batista appeared to try putting animosities behind them. Unfortunately, bad feelings from the last few months came crashing to the fore. In their title match against Unified Tag Team Champions Big Show & The Miz, the WWE Champion and The Animal simply weren’t content to let bygones be bygones. Instead, Batista left up the ramp, where his partner chased him down and began pummeling him, prompting the tag team bout to end in a Count-out.

The ending did not satisfy self-proclaimed “A-Lister” David Otunga. As a result, the special guest host arranged a new Unified Tag Team Match: Show-Miz vs. Cena & Otunga, himself!

Eve won Red Carpet “Dress to Impress” Battle Royal; Eve vs. Maryse for Divas Title next week (PHOTOS | WATCH)
The sexy, smart and powerful women of WWE really are multi-talented. Not only do they know how to fill out an evening gown, they’re not too shabby at wrestling in them either. A “Dress to Impress” Battle Royal pitted Kelly Kelly, Alicia Fox, Gail Kim, Rosa Mendes, Jillian, Katie Lea, The Bella Twins and Eve against one other with the winner earning a Divas Championship Match next week. When the sequins finally settled, it was the gorgeous Eve who emerged victorious and will face Maryse next week for the title.

Sheamus def. Kofi Kingston (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Sheamus continues to demonstrate his piping mad temper. After last week’s despicable clubbing of Triple H during his farewell address to friend Shawn Michaels, The Celtic Warrior once again wielded a steel pipe, this time using it to thrash Kofi Kingston – even when the Irishman had already prevailed in their match.

Afterward, Sheamus called out Triple H, the man who defeated him at WrestleMania. The Game, however, had learned his lesson. As Sheamus threatened to end his career, Triple H pulled out a sledgehammer and nailed The Celtic Warrior, which sent him scrambling from the ring.

Special guest host, NXT Rookie David Otunga, arranged World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger vs. Randy Orton and Unified Tag Team Champions Big Show & The Miz vs. WWE Champion John Cena & Batista (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Jack Swagger’s manners may be lacking, but his timing last week proved nearly flawless. “The All-American American” cashed in his Money in the Bank contract on SmackDown in the wake of the then-World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho suffering a Spear from Edge. After a mere nine seconds against Jericho, Swagger claimed his first World Heavyweight Title.

In his so-called “State of the World Heavyweight Championship Address,” Swagger took the opportunity to verbally jab WWE Champion John Cena, who responded by challenging the chest-beating braggart to a match. Not content flying under the radar, both Randy Orton and The Miz each demanded that they fight Swagger.

Instead, Raw’s special guest host, NXT Rookie David Otunga, silenced the raucous row. Otunga, who landed the prime hosting gig by winning an Eight-Man Battle Royal, arranged two matches for later in the evening: Swagger will take on Randy Orton and Unified Tag Team Champions Big Show & Miz will defend their titles against The Champ and his partner … Batista!

RESULTS FROM MONDAY'S IMPACT ON SPIKETV: NEW KNOCKOUTS CHAMPION, RVD VS. STORM, TEAM 3D vs. MCMG REMATCH AND MORE

    - Team Hogan and Team Flair started the broadcast by trash talking each other about their upcoming Lethal Lockdown match at the Pay-Per-View. Ric Flair revealed his team would consist of Team Captain Sting along with Desmond Wolfe and Beer Money. Team Flair attacked Team Hogan, leading to Jeff Hardy and Rob Van Dam making the save.

    - This led to Rob Van Dam vs. James Storm of Beer Money, with RVD getting the win with the split-legged moonsault. After the match, Storm smashed a beer bottle over RVD's head. Later, Jeff Hardy came out and went after Storm for what he did, but in turn, Robert Roode used the opening to attack Hardy and hit him with a spinebuster.

    - In a Global Title match, "The Freak" Rob Terry successfully defended against Homicide by beating him with a Powerslam. After the match, Homicide attacked the champion with a steel chair, but it only angered (and bloodied) Rob Terry as he chokeslammed Homicide to finish him off. Before "iMPACT!" went to break, Orlando Jordan came out to the stage and stared down Rob Terry while he poured some kind of cream on his chest.

    - In the huge Ladder match, Mr. Anderson pulled off the win against his rival Kurt Angle and gained control of the key for their cage match at the Lockdown Pay-Per-View event on April 18! Both superstars went to hell and back during the bout, using the ladder to batter each other!

    - Backstage, Hulk Hogan confronted Bubba The Love Sponge about joining The Band with Kevin Nash, Scott Hall and Sean Waltman. Later, "Black Machismo" Jay Lethal came into Hulk's office and told the Hulkster that he would always have his back in TNA.

    - Matt Morgan did an interview with Christy Hemme where Morgan told the world that he alone would hold and defend the TNA World Tag Team Championship, without a partner, after he recently put Hernandez out of action with an injury!

    - In a rematch between Team 3D and The Motor City Machine Guns, The Band interrupted the bout and attacked both teams! Then they spray painted Team 3D and the MCMGs! The Band (along with Bubba The Love Sponge) then had some words for Hulk Hogan, telling the Hulkster they were running the show now!

    - In an X Division Gauntlet, X Division Champion Douglas Williams defeated the members of Generation Me. However, after the match Shannon Moore hit the ring and challenged Williams for the X Title at Lockdown!

    - Team 3D challenged The Band to face them next Monday night!

    - In a rematch from last week, The Pope got his revenge by beating Desmond Wolfe. However, World Champion AJ Styles took his opportunity to attack his Lockdown challenger right after the bout ended. Abyss came out to help The Pope, but was attacked by Desmond Wolfe in the process!

    - The contents of the Knockouts Lockboxes were revealed, based on the match from earlier in the night. The contents were as follows:
Velvet Sky opened hers to reveal a contract for a shot at the Knockouts Title
Tara opened hers to reveal she had gotten her pet tarantula Poison back
Angelina Love opened hers to reveal she was the new Knockouts Champion
Daffney opened hers to reveal she had to strip down - but Lacey of The Beautiful People came out and hit her with the Ugly Stick! Lacey then took off her robe to reveal her bra and panties instead!

    - Back on the entrance ramp, Tara wasn't happy that Angelina Love got the Knockouts Title and the two started to brawl! Velvet Sky then announced she would face Angelina Love next week in a Leather and Lace match for the Knockouts Title as "iMPACT!" went off the air

WWE star takes a shot at David Otunga
Posted by Chris Kaufman on 04/02/2010 at 02:17 PM

WWE Magazine conducted a "Twitterview" with Dolph Ziggler this evening on the social networking site as he answered questions regarding Shawn Michaels' retirement, Wrestlemania, his hair, Simpsons, and much more.

When asked to give his pick to win NXT, he selected Heath Slater. It's worth noting that during his response, he referred to David Otunga with the following: "And the one guy is simply here because he dates some chick that's in magazines, he's not even in the Diva's league."

    Maria praat over haar toekomst

Former WWE Diva Maria comments on her future
Posted by Chris Kaufman on 04/01/2010 at 08:34 PM

In an interview with Alex Marvez, Maria Kanellis said WWE wanting more control over her projects led to her departure from the organization.

The former WWE Diva also noted her unhappiness with WWE for quickly posting news of her release on their website before she had time to tell her family she had been let go.

"People are saying it was about money or this and that," Kanellis told Marvez. "It wasn't. It had to do with my other passions and things I wanted to do alongside WWE. Unfortunately, it didn't work for them."

Though she has much on her plate at the moment, she is not ruling out joining TNA or even Ring of Honor down the road.

"I didn't want to leave when I did," Kanellis said. "Who knows where the road is going to lead me? Maybe a good cause will come up for me to go to TNA or even visit with Ring of Honor. I've always said some of the great talent is on the independent (circuit)."

Breaking News: Christopher Daniels Returns To ROH

Moments ago at the ROH PPV in Charlotte, North Carolina, Kenny King was in a match with Davey Richards. After the match, Kenny King refused to shake hands despite cheers from the crowd. Richards was interviewed after the match and put over ROH before saying how awesome he is and how he's going to beat Austin Aries or whoever he has to.

With that being said TNA's Christopher Daniels appeared complete with a Marilyn Manson entrance theme. Daniels then cut a promo and said he had a problem with what Davey just said. He told the people he wants to be the best in the world, but for 7 years he fought to keep the name Fallen Angel synonymous with Best in the World. He said after being held back he has returned to ROH to prove he is exactly that. He then challenged Davey Richards to a fight, and he doesn't care where or when. The crowd wants the match now. Daniels leaves.

Christopher Daniels returned to the company at the Bing Bang PPV as we noted earlier. According to sources, the deal was put together just days ago, and he has been announced for the next shows in Virginia and New York City.

There is no word at this time on his TNA status, but word is that several TNA personalities were surprised when he showed up on the show.

It was also an ROH PPV so it's likely TNA would not have allowed him to appear. We'll have more in his TNA status later today (Sunday).

Dolph Ziggler def. The Great Khali

    Kane def. NXT Rookies (Disqualification)

LAS VEGAS – Just five days after WrestleMania made history in Phoenix, SmackDown lit up Las Vegas like never before as Jack Swagger captured the World Heavyweight Championship, Cryme Tyme imploded, The Great Khali hung up his gigantic boots, CM Punk issued a hairy challenge, and Kane took on WWE NXT.

Jack Swagger def. World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Moments after an irate Edge blasted his WrestleMania opponent, Chris Jericho, with The Spear, Mr. Money in the Bank, Jack Swagger, emerged to leave the entire WWE Universe breathless. Without warning, “The All-American American” stormed onto the scene, nailing the unsuspecting Ultimate Opportunist from behind with his newly-acquired Money in the Bank briefcase. Frantically calling for an official, Swagger proceeded to cash in his championship opportunity, pinning Jericho for the World Title after the Gutwrench Powerbomb heard ’round the world. Swagger’s monumental triumph came just four days after he attempted to use his Money in the Bank position on Raw against John Cena, only to rescind the decision at the last second.

Later, after both Jericho and Edge interrupted Swagger’s first "State of the Championship Address," SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long made an earth-shattering announcement. Next week, the two decorated Superstars will battle in a No. 1 Contender’s Match for the right to face "The All-American American."

When chaos erupted seconds later, the new World Champion hit two more Gutwrench Powerbombs – one on “the best in the world at what he does” and one on The Rated-R Superstar. (PHOTOS | WATCH)

John Morrison & R-Truth def. Cryme Tyme (PHOTOS | WATCH)
John Morrison & R-Truth rebounded from their WrestleMania defeat against Show-Miz with a lightning-fast victory over Cryme Tyme when The Guru of Greatness pinned Shad with Starship Pain.

After the match, Shad completely silenced the lively Sin City crowd when he suddenly turned on his four-year tag team partner, JTG, with an absolutely brutal attack. With fury in his eyes, he later announced that there will be no more Cryme Tyme.

Dolph Ziggler def. The Great Khali (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Following Dolph Ziggler’s impressive victory over The Great Khali with the sleeper, The Punjabi Playboy stunned the WWE Universe by announcing his departure from WWE. As his brother, Ranjin Singh, explained, Khali has decided to go back to India to relax and spend time with family, so that he can one day return to WWE and once again become the World Champion.

CM Punk put his locks on the line (PHOTOS | WATCH)
After losing to Rey Mysterio at WrestleMania, The Straight Edge “savior” challenged The Master of the 619 to a rematch, pledging to put his precious hair on the line for another opportunity to “save” The Ultimate Underdog.

Kane def. NXT Rookies by disqualification (PHOTOS | WATCH)
A “bored” and “frustrated” Big Red Monster challenged the entire NXT roster to an 8-on-1 Elimination Handicap Match. However, after defeating two NXT Rookies, Kane was attacked by the combined force of the remaining up-and-comers.

Intercontinental Champion Drew McIntyre vs. Matt Hardy ended in a No Contest (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Five days after Matt Hardy prevented him from capturing the Money in the Bank at WrestleMania, Intercontinental Champion Drew McIntyre returned to Friday night with revenge on his mind. Before the bell could even sound, the “Chosen One” rammed Hardy into the steel ring post as he was entering the ring, finishing him off with the devastating Future Shock.

Beth Phoenix & Tiffany def. Women’s Champion Michelle McCool & Layla (PHOTOS | WATCH)
The Glamazon once again teamed with SmackDown’s newest Diva to defeat Team Lay-Cool. Once The Fabulous Firebird had knocked the Women’s Champion from the ring apron, she finished off Layla with a powerful Glam Slam.

With the epic WrestleMania XXVI just days earlier, the WWE Universe might expect its favorite ring warriors to be taking it easy, but that wasn’t the case on “WWE Superstars.” The action-packed Thursday night program saw multiple WrestleMania participants collide, with the fallout of that grand spectacle clearly in the forefront of their minds.

There’s no denying that the team of Caylen Croft & Trent Barreta have serious skills inside the ring, but the disrespect they showed The Hart Dynasty prior to their main event match had the WWE Universe begging for someone to shut up the arrogant twosome.

Their comeuppance came in the form of Tyson Kidd & David Hart Smith, who used their combined talents to hit Barreta with the devastating Hart Attack. Kidd quickly followed up by placing the already suffering Barreta into the Sharpshooter, forcing him to submit to the legendary maneuver and giving The Hart Dynasty a decisive win in the process.

One of the many surprises at WrestleMania was the exciting young Yoshi Tatsu persevering in the 26-Man Battle Royal and going on to win the hotly-contested match. On “WWE Superstars,” The Cardiac Kid looked to extend his streak of victories by taking on William Regal.

As The British Brawler’s NXT Rookie, Skip Sheffield, looked on from the ringside, the two competitors put on a clinic of submissions and reversals. Ultimately, however, it was the powerful, well-placed kicks of Tatsu that put Regal out for the count.

Kofi Kingston & MVP def. Carlito & Zack Ryder (PHOTOS | WATCH)
When Carlito & Zack Ryder came to “WWE Superstars” to compete against Kofi Kingston & MVP, they brought with them Carlito’s NXT Rookie, Michael Tarver. Perhaps upset about being ranked No. 7 in the first-ever Pros Poll, the aggressive Rookie started an altercation with MVP outside the ring that only ended when The Ballin’ Superstar laid out Tarver with a series of impressive blows.

Once the action made it back inside the ring, the WWE Universe was treated to an exciting tag team match that saw MVP lead the assault against Carlito & Ryder. But victory came with the arrival of Kofi Kingston, who landed a thunderous Trouble in Paradise on Carlito for the win.

    Neemt Batista een Pauze??

Former WWE Champion Batista has been telling people within WWE that he’s looking to take an extended break from WWE following WrestleMania.

Those within the company expect Batista to take his leave of absence following the Extreme Rules PPV later this month.

Batista is scheduled to begin filming for the upcoming WWE Studio’s film “Killing Karma” this spring and the general consensus within the locker room is that Batista will not wrestler while he is filming.

Is matt Hardy going to cross the line???

It looks like TNA stars Jeff Hardy and Shannon Moore are trying to get WWE superstar Matt Hardy to "cross the ilne" and jump ship from WWE to TNA after the two wrote "cryptic" messages on Twitter last night.

Shannon More wrote: "@MATTHARDBRAND time to jump ship brudda. Ship has set sail. Tell Ace you quit and be a Heavens Demon!!!"

Jeff Hardy then wrote the following: "Maybe my brother can join tha demons next time if he gets his shit together."

Rob Van Dam talked about how he's feeling in TNA so far with the following quote from a new blog on RobVanDam.com. Here's part of what RVD wrote:

"To counter any negative energy that may be out there, concerning TNA in any matter, let me just tell you that I am loving it there. The reasonable work schedule, the doable travel, the people in and behind the scenes, the growing situation, the excitement from the crowd, the unstoppable path to the top I’m on, love it all."
