WWE showed a Wrestlemania recall on RAW this week of Bill Goldberg pinning Brock Lesnar in 2004 as a way to plug Steve Austins guest host gig but the company has actually been talking about Goldberg and trying to get some kind of relationship going with him.
They realize he wont come back and wrestle but theyre thinking of some kind of Legends deal to use his likeness in video games and such. Goldberg could also be possible for next years Hall of Fame in Atlanta since theyre running low on main eventers to induct.
NXT rating drops down to ECW levels Posted by Chris Kaufman on 03/10/2010 at 08:47 PM
Any ratings advantage the new WWE NXT series had over the weekly ECW telecast is gone. Viewership for Tuesday's episode dropped significantly from last week.
After holding steady from week one to week two, NXT eroded viewers for its third airing, falling to a viewership average of just 1.298 million, according to Mediaweek. That amounts to a viewership decline of 25% from last week's 1.73 million total.
Among adults 18-49, the drop was even more staggering. The show fell from a 0.6 to a 0.4, a decrease of 33%.
PWInsider.com is reporting the cable broadcast rating at a 1.0, down from the 1.24 for week two.
Essentially, that means NXT is now right where ECW was when WWE and SyFy decided an overhaul was needed.

The second generation wrestler has been looking to get back into wrestling lately and has been working as a chiropractor since retiring from the industry several years ago.
Maria talks about her future - joining TNA? Posted by Chris Kaufman on 03/09/2010 at 08:55 PM
Former WWE Diva Maria Kanellis was interviewed by Eric Cohen of About.com this week to promote her role on the upcoming "Celebrity Apprentice" NBC show and reveals that Donald Trump himself invited her to participate. "I actually met Donald Trump when he came to the show to do some work with Vince McMahon. He asked me if I wanted to do it and I said that I would love to and it all started from there."
Maria was also asked whether she'd be open to joining TNA, or if she's fully moved on from the wrestling business. "I'm not sure yet to be honest," she said. "I probably had seven different phone calls from companies across the country asking me to come here or go there. I haven't decided. It's such an exciting adventure to be on. It's like I've been born again or something. I'm really trying to figure out what's best for me, what's best for my future, and then go from there."

"Am I mad at WWE? No, I am not. I get it. I understand. They gave me my start and I am thankful. I will however miss the Divas. They will forever be a part of my story. Mickie giving wrestling her heart, soul and a real teacher in the ring. Michelle with her dedication to the divas division is making it grow. Nattie with all the history and excitement. Layla giving it fire, humor, and is a great friend. Kelly the girl that is the beauty that has that same desire as me to prove herself in the ring. Eve is a fighter and can choke you out! (Eve I can't wait to come train with you now that I have some time on my hands.) Beth, the foundation, sweet, strong, and a great listener. These girls and all the Divas are my inspiration. I admire them. I will keep watching you succeed. Thank you Ladies. Will I be back? I don't know. Life throws so much at you. Maybe this chapter is over and maybe we will revisit it later. Only the universe knows. Celebrity Apprentice! Hmmmmm You will have to wait and see how I did. But, I can say that WWE helped me meet Mr. Trump. Make a Wish Foundation was the charity I worked for. I love that Foundation. Giving wishes to kids! Wow! So important. The Make a Wish kids are the best motivation I could ever have to work my butt off on Celebrity Apprentice."

R-Truth & David Otunga def. The Miz & Daniel Bryan Heath Slater def. Carlito Justin Gabriel def. Wade Barrett
SEATTLE In just the third week of competition on WWE NXT, several Rookies earned monumental victories. Despite some occasional clashes with their Pros, each proved why he could be the next Superstar to join the Raw roster.
Justin Gabriel def. Wade Barrett (PHOTOS | WATCH) Justin Gabriel wowed the WWE Universe for the second week in a row, earning an impressive victory over fellow Rookie, Wade Barrett, on WWE NXT. Under the guidance of his Pro, Matt Hardy, Gabriel capitalized on his tag team win over Skip Sheffield last week and continued his forward momentum, pinning Barrett after hitting the 450 Splash. (WATCH: Hardy preps Gabriel for his match) Gabriel ups his perfect record to 2-0, surely making the NXT Pros take notice. But after the victory, Barretts Pro, World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho, entered the ring and hit Gabriel with a Codebreaker and locked him into the Walls of Jericho, preying on the Rookies back, which Barrett targeted throughout their match. (WATCH: Meet Rookie Justin Gabriel)
Heath Slater def. Carlito (PHOTOS | WATCH) Heath Slater sent an important message to Carlito Tuesday night, a week after the Superstar spit apple in the Rookies face on WWE NXT: He is not backing down. With his Pro, Christian, at ringside, Slater defeated Carlito just minutes after the apple-spitting Pro said he should be happy he humiliated him like that and should be begging him to do it again. Carlitos Rookie, Michael Tarver, could only watch in shock as Carlito was rolled up by the one-man rock band Slater. With this victory, Slater earns the impressive distinction of becoming the first Rookie to defeat a Pro in singles action on WWE NXT.
R-Truth & David Otunga def. The Miz & Daniel Bryan (PHOTOS | WATCH) After an explosive, post-match brawl on last weeks WWE NXT, R-Truth & his Rookie, David Otunga, put their differences aside to earn a tag team win over The Miz & Daniel Bryan, another Pro & Rookie duo who arent exactly the best of friends either. The Miz threatened Bryan with his career before the match, saying hell be sure hes thrown off the show if hes pinned. But it was the United States and Unified Tag Team Champion The Miz who was pinned by Otunga, who upped his record to 2-1.
With his teams loss, Bryan has yet to win a match on WWE NXT, but this home state defeat is one Washington native Bryan solely blames on his Pro. During the match, The Miz began to fight with Bryan, distracting the referee, allowing R-Truth to capitalize with a kick to The Miz, allowing Otunga to pin him for the win. (WATCH: Bryan confronts The Miz post-loss) Plus, The Miz may not have been on his A-game after the previous nights Raw when R-Truth and his WrestleMania tag team partner, John Morrison, intentionally disqualified themselves in their match against Show-Miz after sending the Cleveland Screamer over the top rope and punishing The Worlds Largest Athlete.
CM Punk encourages Darren Young (WATCH) On Tuesdays WWE NXT, CM Punk and his Straight Edge Society associates persuaded Rookie Darren Young to become a part of their group. The Pro pointed out that Youngs win last week came with the Societys support, and that he should be more open to new ideas, because with a little help and guidance, Straight Edge can make anyone a winner. (WATCH: Meet Rookie Darren Young)
- According to PWInsider.com, Scott Steiner was backstage at tonight's TNA Impact in Orlando. Steiner was released from TNA a few weeks back. No word yet if they are bringing him back or not.
Eve, Kelly Kelly & Gail Kim def. Divas Champion Maryse, Alicia Fox & Katie Lea
Unified Tag Team Champions Big Show & The Miz vs. John Morrison & R-Truth ended in a No Contest
Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase def. Randy Orton in a 2-on-1 Handicap Match
Evan Bourne def. William Regal in a Money in the Bank Qualifying Match
Mr. McMahon def. John Cena in a No Disqualification Handicap Gauntlet Match
PORTLAND, Ore. Master illusionist Criss Angel may have acted as special guest host of Monday Night Raw, but it was Mr. McMahon who employed trickery and a host of hired hands to punish John Cena on The Road to WrestleMania.
Mr. McMahon def. John Cena in a No Disqualification Handicap Gauntlet Match It took deception, dishonesty and, oh, about five or so Superstars, but Mr. McMahon finally managed to beat John Cena. The Chairman, hoping to prove a point to his WrestleMania rival Bret Hart, had arranged a match between himself and Cena. Perhaps realizing the odds stacked against him, Mr. McMahon changed the rules of engagement, setting up a Gauntlet-Style bout.
Cenas first hurdle was Vladimir Kozlov followed by Intercontinental Champion Drew McIntyre, Jack Swagger and a conflicted Mark Henry. When none of these Superstars managed to wear down Cena enough, The Chairman stipulated that the bout was now a No Disqualification Match. After failing to enlist The Worlds Strongest Man to nail Cena with the ring bell, WWE Champion Batista entered the fray and laid out Henry. Before The Chairman could clock Cena with the bell, though, Kofi Kingston ran out for the save. Batista seemed prepared as he attacked Kingston and even battled Cena at that point.
With Cena incapacitated, his WrestleMania foe took advantage and Batista Bombed the exhausted Superstar in the ring. Mr. McMahon then quickly pinned him for the win.
Stone Cold Steve Austin to act as Raws special guest host next week Quick, somebody hide the beer! Stone Cold Steve Austin returns to Raw next week as special guest host. Not only will The Texas Rattlesnake preside over the contract signing between Mr. McMahon and Bret Hart, hes even announced that next Monday will be WrestleMania Rewind night, featuring rematches from years past including John Cena vs. Big Show (WrestleMania XX), Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho (WrestleMania XIX) and Triple H vs. Randy Orton (25th Anniversary of WrestleMania).
Evan Bourne def. William Regal in a Money in the Bank Qualifying Match The line-up for the Money in the Bank Ladder Match is all set. With the inclusion of Evan Bourne, the eight-man field in the WrestleMania showdown has been established. Air Bourne managed to secure the final eighth position by bombarding William Regal as the Englishmans NXT Rookie Skip Sheffield looked on with his patented aerial assault and now joins Kane, MVP, Christian, Dolph Ziggler, Shelton Benjamin, Jack Swagger and Matt Hardy to vie for the coveted Money in the Bank briefcase.
Sheamus challenged Triple H to a WrestleMania Match The tension between Triple H and Sheamus all started when The Game effectively ended The Celtic Warriors reign as WWE Champion inside of Satans Structure. Fitting since a clash between the two should be hell on earth for each man. After suffering a devastating attack by Sheamus last week, Triple H declared that his nemesis would lose his first match ever at WrestleMania to him! Before the tension became overwhelming, the two collided both inside and outside of the ring.
Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase def. Randy Orton Randy Orton couldnt wait. As his opponents in a 2-on-1 Handicap Match, Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase, made their way to the ring, their ringleader-turned-rival attacked, leaving the duo dazed before the bout even started. The ambush proved reminiscent of the punishment The Viper dished out to his protégés the week prior.
The Viper, however, would need more than a surprise strike to defeat the two. DiBiase managed to pin the former mentor for an especially satisfying victory. Afterward, Rhodes joined in the fun, also pummeling the impaired Orton with glee.
Unified Tag Team Champions Big Show & The Miz vs. John Morrison & R-Truth ended in a No Contest Having earned their status as No. 1 contenders to the Unified Tag Team Championships, John Morrison & R-Truth dropped by Raw to battle current champions Big Show & The Miz. The match got underway after one of The Mizs typically bombastic rants. In response, his former tag team partner Morrison and R-Truth double-teamed The Cleveland Screamer and sent him over the top rope. The SmackDown duo then punished The Worlds Largest Athlete before heading up the entrance ramp after having put Show-Miz squarely in their place.
Eve, Kelly Kelly & Gail Kim def. Divas Champion Maryse, Alicia Fox & Katie Lea A week after the Diva Pajama Pillow Fight Match, the winner of that feather-filled fracas, Eve, managed to make it two in a row when she forced Divas Champion Maryse to tap out. This week, the gorgeous grappler teamed with Kelly Kelly & Gail Kim to tackle the challenge of the conceited Canadian, who hooked up with Alicia Fox and Raw's newest Diva, Katie Lea.
Shawn Michaels confronted The Undertaker In a rare Raw appearance, The Undertaker took the mic to address the WWE Universe about his upcoming WrestleMania rematch with Shawn Michaels. The Deadman vowed that, despite HBKs protestations, he will prevail and bury his opponents storied career once and for all.
For his part, HBK begged to differ. Mr. WrestleMania confronted his tormentor, insisting that The Undertakers 17-0 streak will end and that his rival knows deep inside his being that he will be defeated. HBK even proposed a new match stipulation, to which The Deadman readily agreed: The only way either Superstar can win will be by pinfall or submission.
