RVD says WWE thought he signed with TNA

RVD says WWE thought he signed with TNA
Posted by Chris Kaufman on 01/26/2010 at 12:49 PM

Rob Van Dam says WWE was concerned he was going to sign with TNA last week that they blocked his account on WWE’s blog page. RVD regularly posts updates for his “RVD TV” webshow on WWE’s Universe page.

“The constant rumors that I am or have signed with one of the wrestling companies seems to be getting stronger still,” RVD said on robvandam.com. “Last week, WWE locked me out of my profile page at WWE Universe because they believed I had signed with TNA!”

RVD did not detail his current standing with WWE or TNA any further. He said in an interview last week that he he would return to WWE “if the conditions were right,” but he has no interest in working their schedule again. RVD did plug that he will be wrestling his “first domestic match in years” this weekend in Los Angeles at the WrestleReunion convention. RVD is booked for PWG’s Saturday night show in a three-way match against Chris Hero and Roderick Strong.

Also in his blog, RVD criticized the DVD cover art for the “Wrong Side of Town” movie where he’s in the lead role. The DVD features Batista on the cover instead of him.

“Uh… well, he WAS on set for 2 days. I’m not bitching that I got screwed here, but if I ever was in a position to bitch that I got screwed over, it’d have to feel a lot like this,” RVD said.

    Styles Slams WWE's 'Backstabbing

In an interview with The Sun, TNA World Heavyweight Champion AJ Styles blasts the backstabbing nature of rival promotion World Wrestling Entertainment.

The TNA star said he has no interest in going to WWE based on second-hand stories he's heard from wrestlers' experiences in the politically-motivated backstage environment.

"From all the horror stories I've heard in WWE, there's no reason why I would want to go anywhere else. Desmond (Wolfe) and I are going to work together to make this company the best for everybody. Where, in the other company, they will stab each other in the back to get to the next level," Styles said. "It's not about me. It's about us in TNA."

Styles said one year from now, TNA needs to be live and touring "week-to-week" outside the Impact Zone in Orlando. His main reason for wanting to venture outside of Orlando is so he can better gauge the effectiveness of his persona.

"Definitely live. Live every Monday night or Thursday night. I don't care. Just as long as the fans know when it's coming on. And that they don't know what to expect," Styles told The Sun. "That's the biggest thing because with the spoilers, they go on (the Internet) and figure out whatever, but I want to be live going from state-to-state and not just in the Impact Zone."

Styles added: "It's hard to gauge who you are as a character in the Impact Zone because you have the same fans coming in who don't necessarily want to enjoy the show, but be part of the show, and it's hard to gauge how you're doing as an entertainer."

Styles also reassured fans upset about TNA parting ways with its trademark six-sided ring.

"Ring change is kind of upsetting at first, but then once you get in that ring, it brings the memories back - 'Oh, there's so much more you can do.' But, for us, it absolutely does not make a difference to me. That's why it was so bizarre to me at first why they would change it," Styles said. "I heard that maybe the reason was to be taken more seriously as a company. I can understand that. I don't care what it is that gets us to the next level as long as we get there."

Styles and Desmond Wolfe also discuss Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair and Eric Bischoff joining TNA, as well as what fans can expect on the company's current tour of the UK. To download the 21-minute interview, head on over to http://www.thesun.co.uk/

Kofi Kingston def. United States Champion The Miz in a Non-Title Match
Carlito vs. Kelly Kelly ended in a No Contest
    Gail Kim def. Alicia Fox
WWE Champion Sheamus def. John Cena by Disqualification

COLUMBUS, Ohio - After his co-star on USA Network’s Psych, James Roday, was rushed to the hospital for an emergency appendectomy, actor Dule Hill was forced to act as Raw’s sole guest host. No worries, though, since Hill more than held his own with a little guidance from John Cena, who just so happens to guest star on Psych’s season premiere this Wednesday at 10/9 CT.

WWE Champion Sheamus def. John Cena by Disqualification (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Beware of snake! That’s always sage advice when Randy Orton is slithering around the ring. During the much-anticipated clash between WWE Champion Sheamus and John Cena, The Viper nonetheless made his presence felt.

The Celtic Warrior and an intense Cena battered one another with fierce blows, until Sheamus heaved his opponent over the ropes. As Cena lie outside the ring in pain, The Viper struck. He slithered into the ring, snuck up on Sheamus and dropped his Royal Rumble opponent with a wicked RKO, causing a disqualification. As Orton savored the moment, he also nearly wrecked Cena, who tried to re-enter the squared circle. Cena, however, exacted revenge on his longtime foe when he turned the tables and administered a crushing Attitude Adjustment.

William Shatner will act as special guest host of Raw next week
Set your DVRs to stunning – Star Trek’s William Shatner will be honored as Raw’s special guest host next week! The longtime Capt. James T. Kirk and current host of BIO’s Shatner’s Raw Nerve talk show will take control as special guest host and welcome Bret “Hit Man” Hart as he returns to Raw.

Gail Kim def. Alicia Fox (PHOTOS | WATCH)
And then there were two. After taking the legs out from under her opponent, Alicia Fox, in the Divas Championship Tournament, Gail Kim advanced and will now battle Maryse for the Golden Butterfly. Unfortunately for guest host Dule Hill, things didn’t work out nearly as well. After assuring Alicia prior to the match that his psychic powers allowed him to see her winning, Hill found himself on the receiving end of a bitter slap after the bout. Oh, yes she did!

Carlito vs. Kelly Kelly ended in a No Contest (PHOTOS | WATCH)
After a bit of mix up, compliments of special guest host Dule Hill, Carlito found himself preparing to face Kelly Kelly. Instead, Santino Marella insisted on taking her place, hoping to redeem himself after watching the Best of Raw 2009 DVD, in which he embarrasses himself … a lot.

As the Italian Stallion made it to the ring, though, Jack Swagger charged and proceeded to destroy him. You see, for the past two weeks, Swagger had issued an “All-American American” Challenge, daring anyone on the roster to toss him over the top rope. Well, first Santino obliged him in a shocking turn of events, then the Italian enlisted Mark Henry to do the same. This week, however, it was Santino who was left slack-jawed.

Kofi Kingston def. United States Champion The Miz in a Non-Title Match (PHOTOS | WATCH)
United States Champion The Miz should know by now, you mess with MVP, The Franchise Playa is honor bound to mess back. That’s precisely what went down when Miz battled Kofi Kingston in a non-title match after Kofi was personally selected by special guest host Dule Hill for the task. As the match drove on, Montel paid a visit, similar to the U.S. Champ’s interruption during MVP’s earlier match against Big Show. This time, it was Miz who dropped the bout to his opponent, Kofi.

Bret Hart to return to Raw next week; WWE Champion Sheamus against John Cena tonight (PHOTOS | WATCH)
They don’t come much more stubborn than Mr. McMahon. Not only did The Chairman betray Bret Hart three weeks prior, he’s also been refusing the Hall of Famer’s return to WWE. That didn’t sit well with various Superstars, including World Heavyweight Champion The Undertaker and Triple H. Now, add John Cena to the chorus. Cena confronted Mr. McMahon with some forceful language that seemed to break through. In fact, a furious Chairman stated that he would see Hart on Raw next week!

Oh, and to punish Cena, he also arranged a contest pitting him against WWE Champion Sheamus, although, frankly, Cena appeared to relish the idea of a rematch.

Maryse def. Eve (PHOTOS | WATCH)
If it were a beauty contest, ladies and gentlemen, it would be nearly impossible to pick a winner. Maryse and Eve, however, were competing in a much more ferocious affair: The right to advance in the Divas Championship Tournament. Despite Eve’s best efforts, it was the conceited Canadian who prevailed and now advances to the tourney finals, where she will face the winner of the match between Alicia Fox and Gail Kim.

Big Show def. MVP (PHOTOS | WATCH)
United States Champion The Miz grinned through hyper-whitened teeth as he watched his new buddy, Big Show, prevail over his rival MVP. Just as The Ballin’ Superstar prepared to tackle his redwood of an opponent, Miz hovered ringside just enough to distract the No. 1 contender to the United States Championship. The interruption proved enough to allow The World’s Largest Athlete to chokeslam MVP for the win.

Unified Tag Team Champions DX def. The Legacy (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Last week, Triple H showed Shawn Michaels the ropes – quite literally. In preparing for the Royal Rumble, The Game tossed his longtime friend and Unified Tag Team Title partner over the top rope, making it perfectly clear: It will be every man for himself this Sunday.

Despite any tensions, the DX duo know when to put aside personal issues and get down to business, which is precisely what happened when they faced off against The Legacy. Triple H & Michaels shut down any hope Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase may have had of gaining momentum heading into Sunday.

John Morrison & R-Truth def. Drew McIntyre & Chris Jericho
Cryme Tyme vs. Charlie Haas & Mike Knox (No Contest)
The Great Khali & Matt Hardy def. The Hart Dynasty

GREENVILLE, S.C. – With Royal Rumble just nine days away, Rey Mysterio decided to do the unthinkable – call out World Heavyweight Champion Undertaker. Although Mysterio escaped The Deadman’s wrath, he did not fair so well when The Animal came charging into the ring.

After calling out The Undertaker, Rey Mysterio was attacked by Batista (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Standing in the middle of the ring, Rey Mysterio called out his Royal Rumble opponent, World Heavyweight Champion Undertaker. After recalling winning a World Title four years ago, The Master of the 619 said The Deadman was the only thing standing between reliving his dream again.

Not phased by Mysterio’s confidence, The Phenom said Mysterio is only digging his own grave, and will “rest in peace” – just like the many other Superstars who have tried to make a name for themselves against The Deadman.

Then, as Undertaker made his way up the exit ramp, Mysterio shouted into the mic that he is not like the rest who have faced The Phenom. Next, from out of nowhere, Batista viciously assaulted Mysterio with a spinebuster and Batista Bomb, leaving him writing in pain. Finally, as The Deadman approached the ring to witness the carnage, The Animal disappeared into the crowd.

Finlay def. Batista by disqualification (PHOTOS | WATCH)
In the first match of the night, Finlay was the one who had the unpleasant experience of encountering the angry Animal. After failing to heed the ref’s call to break a hold outside of the ring, Batista was immediately disqualified. Then – full of pent-up frustration at not having an opportunity for the World Title – The Animal unloaded on The Fighting Irishman, leaving him in a decimated heap.

Afterward, Batista grabbed the mic to call out Royal Rumble participants Shawn Michaels, Triple H, and John Cena, all the while proceeding to stomp on Finlay. The Animal boldly declared he would win the Royal Rumble Match, and go on to defeat World Heavyweight Champion Undertaker at WrestleMania and break his 17-0 streak.

Unified Tag Team Champions DX vs. CM Punk & Luke Gallows announced (WATCH)
CM Punk declared that he and Luke Gallows will defeat Unified Tag Team Champions Shawn Michaels and Triple H next week on SmackDown, restoring dignity to the title. Punk also claimed he will become the first straightedge Superstar to win the Royal Rumble Match.

CM Punk welcomed a female member to the “Straightedge Society” (PHOTOS | WATCH)
For the past two weeks, male members of the WWE Universe have been inducted into the “Straightedge Society” by CM Punk. But on this night, Serena, a female member of the WWE Universe, welcomed straightedge into her life and accepted CM Punk as her savior. The latest “Straightedge Society” induction ceremony culminated in CM Punk shaving off Serena’s entire beautiful head of hair!

John Morrison & R-Truth def. Drew McIntyre & Chris Jericho (PHOTOS | WATCH)
A match originally orchestrated as a 2-on-1 Handicap Match – by order of Official SmackDown Consultant Vickie Guererro – was turned into a standard Tag Team Match by SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long. Before the bell, Long added R-Truth to the battle, which proved to be a beneficial addition for The Friday Night Delight. With a well-timed Scissors Kick, Truth dropped Chris Jericho and covered him for the pinfall. Next week, Morrison and McIntyre will meet in a No Disqualification title match on SmackDown.

Women's Champion Michelle McCool, Layla and Beth Phoenix attacked Mickie James (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Claiming that Mickie James is leaving SmackDown for good, Women’s Champion Michelle McCool and Layla hosted an in-ring going away party for Mickie James. As usual, the duo hurled insults, such as “Piggy James.” After exchanging words, the party was spoiled when a full-blown brawl broke out with Maria battling Layla, and Michelle battling Mickie.

Then, Beth Phoenix charged into the ring to join the fray. At first she hesitated as to which side she was going to choose, but then finally grabbed Maria and cleared her from the ring. Next, The Glamazon helped Layla hold Mickie, while Michelle smashed cake in her face and poured a bowl of punch over her head. Mickie was reduced to tears after the ugly assault. Mickie and Michelle will meet again at Royal Rumble. (Match preview)

Cryme Tyme vs. Charlie Haas & Mike Knox ended in a No Contest (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Before this tag team battle could really get going, Kane entered the arena to make a bold statement by tossing all four Superstars from the ring. Clearly, The Big Red Monster is ready for Royal Rumble.

The Great Khali & Matt Hardy def. The Hart Dynasty (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Despite the sexy, smart and powerful Natalya’s attempt at distracting The Great Khali outside of the ring, his partner, Matt Hardy, took care of business by wrapping up David Hart Smith in an inside cradle to get the win.

Eye witness comments on Orton/fan incident
Posted by Chris Kaufman on 01/21/2010 at 03:07 PM

Wickedlocal.com is reporting that, according to an eye witness, Randy Orton did not assault a 15 year old fan as both the fan and his mother have claimed.

Stephen Addonizio, who was sitting in his car during the incident, claims that Orton was approached by a dozen or so fans for autographs, but Orton refused the fans by simply walking past them. The 15 year old and his mother claim that Orton spat gum in the kid's face, however, according to Addonizio, "He [Orton] just kept walking past them to get into his car."

Randy Orton responds to recent assault charges
Posted by Chris Kaufman on 01/20/2010 at 05:27 PM

Randy Orton posted the following message on his website about the alleged incident that took place after the Boston show at Kowloon’s restaurant:

“Here’s what happened: I walked out of Kowloon’s Friday night around 12:30-1 a.m. with Santino and a police officer escort. As I was being rudely hounded for pictures and autos (I had a 6:40 a.m. flight through Minni to Lincoln, then a drive to Omaha, a match, a drive back to Omaha, then a charter to Minni, and a driver to Rochester for the next show the next day, btw), I was confronted by an older women who said: ‘Hey Randy, you spit on my handicapped son a few years ago at a show, what do you have to say about that?’ My replay...`So Sue me.’ Then I proceeded to my car, with Santino and the cop and drove back to our hotel by the Boston airport. I know I have been a bit of a hothead in the past, but I DID NOT spit gum and call names to any child. The women is claiming I called her son a `retard’ 3 times, and spit gum in his face. Come on people, even at my worst temperament, I would never call a handicapped child something awful like that. I’ll actually sign anything for any child with any disability. I heard just today from WWE attorneys that this women filed assault charges against me 4 days later? Hmmm, oh, and what about the dozens of cops at the restaurant that were there for crowd control since there were over 100 wrestling fans there? Not to mention the cop that escorted me to my freaking car. I’ll be happy when this is over. I guess if I’ve learned anything from this, it is not to ever challenge anyone to sue me.”

While details have yet to be disclosed, it has been confirmed that Alissa Flash is gone from TNA Wrestling.

Flash, whose real name is Melissa Anderson, had been with the company since January 2008 when she began working under a hood as Raisha Saeed, Awesome Kong's mouthpiece.

The Saeed character was written out last fall as Anderson began regularly appearing as Flash, where she had matches with the likes Sarita and Hamada.

She hadn't appeared on television since December and was not used at this week's slate of television tapings.

Word of Anderson's departure from the company first began circulating after a report on the Diva-Dirt.com website yesterday. She later confirmed said report via her Twitter account.

Her bio has since been removed from the TNA website.

Flair then brings out the 'next heavyweight champion' A.J. Styles. Styles comes to the ring in a suit and he is accompanied by a woman. Styles puts over the beautiful women in the ring and then the crowd chants 'You are married'. This causes Styles to laugh and there was an awkward pause. A.J. cuts a promo that utilized a style similar to his new mentor.

    * Kurt Angle comes to the ring with Hulk Hogan. Hogan says that he has changed his mind about Genesis being Angle's last title shot because he runs the show. Hogan announces that Kurt Angle versus A.J. Styles will happen tonight. Hogan says that it is 'damn real'.

    * Orlando Jordan defeats D'Angelo Dinero with a Flatliner.

    * It was announced that Ken Anderson will face Jeff Jarrett tonight.

    * Angelina Love defeated Madison Rayne after a bicycle kick. After the match, Love ripped Madison's shirt off and choked her with it. Velvet and Lacey come to the ring and they attack Love with the 'ugly stick'.

    * Hogan and Bischoff come out. They are tired of The Band running around and they want to see them wrestle. The Band come out and Waltman is smoking. Hogan says that since they don't have contracts, they don't have contracts, they don't work for TNA. Hogan has security escort them out of the building.

    * Nasty Boys defeated Kevin Nash and Eric Young when Saggs pinned Young after a pumphandle drop.

    * Mr. Anderson comes to the ring to cut a promo. He talks about his victory over Abyss at Genesis. Abyss is standing behind him and he attacks Anderson until Anderson is able to get out of the ring.

    * A.J. Styles defeated Kurt Angle with an ankle lock. This match was described as an 'Orlando Screw Job'. Earl Hebner was the referee for this match and he had them ring the bell. Styles, Flair, and Hebner left the ringside area. After the match, Hulk Hogan came out and Angle spat in his face. Angle went to the announce table and took Mike Tenay's chair and throw it into the stage.

Eric Bischoff comes out with blood on his forehead and states that Mick Foley is fired and then he leaves.

Awesome Kong verlaat TNA met onmiddelijke ingang

TNA Knockout Awesome Kong, who got into a physical altercation with TNA backstage announcer Bubba the Love Sponge at Monday's iMPACT! tapings, has given notice that she's leaving the company.

Kong's departure from the company appears to be effective immediately, and she said during the video cast that she informed TNA she won't be attending the upcoming UK tour.

It should be noted that many TNA wrestlers
and knockouts who have told management they are leaving have been persuaded into staying, but at this point Awesome Kong's relationship with TNA appears to be off.

    Kelly Kelly def. Jillian
    Shelton Benjamin def. Vance Archer
Kane def. Chris Jericho by Count-out

Each episode of “WWE Superstars,” brings you explosive matches from each of WWE’s three brands, and this week was no exception. Fans in attendance cheered along as Kelly Kelly shut up her competition, Shelton Benjamin achieved a first in WWE and Kane sent his opponent packing.

Kane def. Chris Jericho by Count-out (PHOTOS | WATCH)
The main event of “WWE Superstars” pitted the humongous Kane against the cagey Chris Jericho. Though fans might have expected The Big Red Monster to plow right through his smaller opponent, the first-ever Undisputed Champion showed the WWE Universe exactly why he claims to be the best in the world at what he does. Jericho put up a tremendous fight, attempting to fell his monstrous opponent through the relentless application of a vicious sleeper hold. It would take much more than that to take Kane out of commission however, as the nefarious Superstar soon found out. Running out of options, Jericho escaped from the ring, allowing himself to be counted out, giving The Big Red Monster the win.

Shelton Benjamin def. Vance Archer (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Since his debut, Vance Archer has made quite an impact on ECW, tearing through any competitor brave enough to step in the ring against him. One Superstar, however, has proven himself to be a difficult obstacle for the intense young ring warrior, and his name is Shelton Benjamin. Late in 2009 The Gold Standard proudly handed Archer his first loss via disqualification, and on the most recent “WWE Superstars,” Benjamin achieved another first as he rolled up his nemesis to become the first ring warrior to pin the ruthless athlete.

Kelly Kelly def. Jillian (PHOTOS | WATCH)
On a normal week, Jillian’s sense-shattering singing is confined to Raw, but this week the WWE Universe found itself covering its ears on Thursday night as the tone-deaf songstress opened “WWE Superstars” with her rendition of a Miley Cyrus song. Luckily for the fans in attendance, her performance was interrupted by the arrival of her opponent, Kelly Kelly. The blonde bombshell continued her campaign to save our eardrums by pinning Jillian and sending her packing.
