World Wrestling Federation/Entertainment

Tijdens 2001-2003 was het "Never Gonna Stop (The Red, Red Kroovy)" door Rob Zombie en daarvoor gebruikte hij twee originele WWF gemaakte liedjes die "You Think You Know Me" en "On the Edge" heetten. Sinds "You Think You Know Me" is al zijn thema muziek begonnen met die zin.

Persoonlijk leven
Most Likely to win the WWF World Heavyweight Championship."
NoDQ.com > TNA > Update on Goldberg possibly going to TNA Posted by Bobby Spade on 07/17/2007 at 11:40 AM
Although the two sides never came close to reaching a deal, the odds of Bill Goldberg
joining TNA dropped greatly this past week as Spike cancelled his show
Bullrun. That pretty much ends his affiliation with the network.
Whatever talks they had regarding Goldberg coming in always had the
idea of Spike footing some of the salary like they did with Sting.

CM Punk notched a win in his final contest
before destiny calls him to his title match at The Great American Bash. Punk has
been rolling toward his showdown with ECW World Champion John Morrison, making
Elijah Burke his latest victim. Following a three-count, Punk stood victorious
while Burke lay in his own frustrations frustrations that return only a week
after breaking his losing streak against Balls Mahoney. (WATCH)
Punks
Bash opponent drew plenty of attention, as always, when he held a press
conference he deemed would change ECW forever. The ECW World Champion said
goodbye to Johnny Nitro. Now that he has reached the top, he will answer only
to his birth name: John Morrison. He took measures to make sure Punk remembers
his name, bringing a microphone to the Straightedge Superstars skull. (WATCH)

In other ECW on Sci Fi action, Kevin Thorn took
a bite out of ECW Original Tommy Dreamer. Dreamer was coming off a tough loss to
Morrison in an Extreme Rules Match just one week earlier. Thorn continues to
have success as a bat flying solo.
Big Daddy V had a big performance in
his first ECW on Sci Fi match (no pun intended). After Matt Striker proudly
introduced his massive pupil, Big Daddy V made a meal out of his opponent. The
Miz also had an eventful night of his own, when Extreme Exposé treated him to a
private dance.
What will happen when Punk gets another chance at the ECW
World Title on Sunday? Will Elijah Burke get back on track? Dont miss your
chance to find out. Watch The Great American Bash on Sunday at 8/7 CT on

Hardy makes The Bash family night with victory
By Corey Clayton
July 16, 2007CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas Jeff Hardy is no stranger to the Intercontinental Championship.
And after successfully fending off challenges from Santino Marella,
William Regal and Shelton Benjamin, hell have the chance to regain the
title for a fourth time at The Great American Bash.
Hardys win in a Four Way Elimination Match secured the No. 1
contendership for the Intercontinental Title. Hell have the chance to
take it from the man that ended his last Intercontinental reign, the
Samoan Bulldozer, Umaga.
After Santino Marella was eliminated by William Regal and Regal was
pinned by Benjamin, Hardy countered a sunset flip attempt with a bridge
pin to catch the Worlds Greatest Tag Team member by surprise and
gained the three-count. Watch the video...
Itll make The Great American Bash a family affair, as both Jeff
and Matt Hardy will be targeting singles gold. Matt will be facing
United States Champion Montel Vontavious Porter at Sundays event in
San Jose, Calif.
WWE Champion John Cena faced off with his Great American Bash
challenger, Bobby Lashley. During an interview conducted by Jonathan
Coachman, Lashley became frustrated and charged up the ramp toward
Coachman, who had stripped him of the ECW World Title on Draft night.
Watch the video...
But Cena challenged Lashley to keep his cool and stay focused on
beating The Champ, or else hed go home from The Bash empty-handed.
After turning toward the locker room, the Dominator charged toward
Cena, then scuffled with The Champ only to be broken apart by WWE
officials. Read more...
Another Bash pairing that threatened to throw down early was The
American Dream Dusty Rhodes and Randy Orton. Rhodes was at ringside
for his son Codys Raw debut, accepting Ortons challenge.
Cody almost scored a surprising upset victory over the former World
Heavyweight Champion with a missile dropkick, but Orton recovered to
kick out of the pin attempt. Orton then countered the youngest Rhodes
with a backbreaker, and took down the rookie with an RKO to score the
pinfall. Watch the video ...
After the match, Orton attempted to kick Cody in the head in a
similar manner that he had done to Shawn Michaels and Rob Van Dam,
putting their careers on the shelf. But Dusty Rhodes stepped in just in
time to stop Ortons charge. The two stared each other down as their
Texas Bull Rope Match looms in just six days. Read more...
Raw started off in royal fashion as Triple Hs entrance music
blared through the American Bank Center. The crowd roared in
anticipation, but it wasnt the The Game that came to ringside. It was
Raws regal couple, King Booker and Queen Sharmell.
Booker issued a proclamation that he alone was to be called King in
WWE. He even issued threats to Triple H, whos known as the King of
Kings.
Booker called Triple Hs moniker blasphemy.
Theres only one king in WWE. Theres only one king on Monday Night
Raw your foolish reign as King of Kings is over, Booker said.
But then Booker took issue with Raw commentator and WWE Hall of
Famer, Jerry The King Lawler. Booker asked Lawler to discontinue use
of his long-time title.
Lawler, at first, refused. Ive been a king for over 30 years, and I
dont see why theres not any reason we cant co-exist as kings, he
said. Booker replied, There can be only one king. And its not Triple
H, and its not you.
Lawler conceded as a sign of respect, and told Booker he would not
use the title anymore when referring to himself. But then Booker asked
the ring veteran to kiss his ring as a sign of the changing of the
guard.
Lawler refused, and Booker attacked the regal legend. Lawler
responded with haymakers as WWE officials swarmed in to break up the
melee. The flustered Booker left ringside threatening Lawler as the
crowd chanted Jer-ry! Jer-ry! Watch the video...
In other action, Melina defeated Mickie James with her guillotine
leg drop. With Womens Champion Candice Michelle watching from ringside
and Beth Phoenix giving the paparazzi princess some outside assistance,
Melinas win served as notice that her sights are firmly set on
regaining Michelles title at The Bash.
Sandman and Carlito attempted to settle their budding rivalry, but
their match was interrupted by William Regal, who was seeking to exact
some revenge on Sandman for the Singapore cane blow he suffered a week
earlier.
Also, while being eliminated first in the Intercontinental Four Way
Elimination Match, Santino Marella found comfort in the locker room in
the arms of WWE Diva, Maria, who offered to spend the night with the
Milan Miracle.
Mr. Kennedy settled the score with Mexican luchador Super Crazy,
earning a victory with a top-rope suplex. Super Crazy had fooled
Kennedy weeks earlier into thinking hed lie down for a Beat The
Clock Match loss to the Green Bay, Wisc., grappler, only to turn the
tables on Kennedy to cost him a WWE Title opportunity.
Finally, Raws deranged giant, Snitsky, steamrolled past Val Venis
for a rather easy victory. He pinned the sexy Superstar with a
pumphandle slam, then gave Venis another slam post-match for good
measure.

Victory Road live on Pay-Per-View kicked off with the 10 Man Ultimate X
Match to determine the new number one contender to the X Division
Championship. The bout started off with The Fallen Angel Christopher
Daniels and Black Machismo Jay Lethal. Next in was Puma, followed by
Homicide, Sonjay Dutt and Petey Williams. Puma was first eliminated
after Williams hit him with the Canadian Destroyer! Shark Boy was out
next Williams was eliminated soonafter. Next out was the returning
Primetime Elix Skipper, who tossed out Shark Boy and Sonjay Dutt. Kaz
was out next, followed by the final entrant Senshi. Now, everyone
went for the X over the ring as the Ultimate X began. Then, in one of
the greatest moves in TNA Wrestling history, Kaz hit a diamond cutter
on Daniels as he was hanging upside down from above the ring! Kaz and
Skipper then climbed high above the ring, crossing the steel girders
and meeting in the middle, but both stars fell to the ring as they went
for the red X. In the end, it was Christopher Daniels claiming the red
X to win the bout! As he came down, Senshi and Skipper were there to
meet him and the three former Triple X members celebrated the win!
Up next, Team 3D was in the back and talked about tonights main
event bout. Brother Ray claimed he would become the new TNA World
Heavyweight Champion, which Brother Devon took exception too.
Samoa Joe was then interviewed, who guaranteed he would win the
main event tonight. The Voodoo Kin Mafia followed with an interview,
claiming they had a surprise for Christy Hemme.
In the next bout, it was Basham & Damaja (with Christy Hemme
and Lance Hoyt) vs. The Voodoo Kin Mafia. BG James welcomed the fans to
the PPV and introduced the newest member of the Voodoo Kin Mafia, the
Voodoo Queen Roxxi Laveaux. After her introduction, the match began.
Lance Hoyt and Christy got involved, allowing Basham and Damaja to get
the upper hand. Lance Hoyt slid in a steel chair and when Kip James
picked it up, he kicked him in the face. However, Kip was able to kick
out of the pin, which allowed BG James to use the steel chair on
Damaja! Kip then rolled onto Damaja to get the win! Following the bout,
Christy attempted to slap Kip James, but Roxxi came in to deliver a
face slam to the TNA Knockout.
Up next, it was The War Machine Rhino against Cowboy James
Storm. Before the bout, referee Rudy Charles ejected Ms. Jackie from
the ringside area. It was an all-out brawl, as the bout spilled
throughout the audience as Rhino pummeled Storm. However, Storm took
control after he got Rhino back in the ring and sent him off the apron
into the guardrail. Storm went for several pin attempts, but Rhino
fought him off. Rhino made a comeback and hit Storm with a superplex,
but was unable to get the pin. Storm went for a clothesline, but ended
up hitting referee Charles. Rhino went for the GORE, but Storm nailed
him with his beer bottle for the win! After the bout, Storm used a rope
to tie a bloodied Rhino to the ring ropes. Ms. Jackie returned from the
back with a beer keg - and they sprayed the beer into the War Machines
mouth as added insult. It took all the referees to pull Storm off of
Rhino.
Up next, Jerry Lynn and Mr. Backlund were interviewed regarding their bout against Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley.
Kevin Nash led Sabin and Shelley to the ring, followed by the
entrances for Lynn and Backlund. Nash had Backlunds book, the one
stolen by Sabin and Shelley. Backlund started off the bout and got the
best of Sabin, but when Lynn tagged in the Motor City Machineguns
gained the upper hand. Sabin and Shelley double-teamed Lynn repeatedly,
which brought in Backlund to clean house. As the referee forced out
Backlund, Nash came in to deliver a boot to Lynn. Sabin and Shelley
then hit twin dropkicks on Lynn to get the pin and the win!
Up next, Jeremy Borash was backstage with Kurt Angle, who was
looking for backup in the main event bout tonight. Angle found Black
Machismo, but he wouldnt help Angle. In turn, Angle attacked the
former X Champion.
Up next, it was the mixed tag team match.
Robert Roode and Ms. Brooks made their way out first, followed by
Eric Young and Gail Kim. Young and Roode started the bout, with EY
getting the advantage early. Ms. Brooks tried to come in, but she was
met by Gail Kim. Later, Roode and Brooks double-teamed Young on the
outside, crotching him on the ring post. Roode took over on his former
employee, allowing Brooks to enter the bout to slap and humiliated
Young. However, Young turned it around and tagged in Gail Kim, who
cleaned house on Roode and Brooks! Young and Gail hit a double dropkick
on Roode, sending him out of the ring as Gail got the pin on Brooks for
the win! After the bout, Roode verbally abused Brooks, but EY came in
and pulled down Roodes trunks to embarrass him!
In the back, Kurt Angle tried to get The Guru Sonjay Dutt to join
him as his backup, but Dutt refused and asked Angle to instead donate
to his charity. In turn, Angle smashed Dutt with his tambourine and
pummeled him!
Up next, it was The Wildcat Chris Harris against The Instant
Classic Christian Cage. Harris took the early advantage, hitting Cage
with a standing suplex. The bout spilled to the outside, where Harris
hit a backdrop on Cage on the entrance ramp. Back in the ring, Cage
took control and hit Harris with an elbow from the top followed by an
abdominal stretch. Cage started to slap his opponent, which enraged
Harris. The Wildcat turned the bout around and hit Cage with a flying
clothesline. Cage fought back and tried to use his feet on the ropes to
get the pin, but Harris kicked out. Harris tried for a superplex from
the top, but Cage countered it with a faceplant on his nemesis. Cage
went for his Unprettier finisher, but Harris reversed it and nailed it
on the Instant Classic! Cage kicked out, but Harris hit him with a
spear! Cage turned it back around and finally hit his finisher, but
Harris kicked out. Later, Cage nailed Harris with a top rope frog
splash, but Harris kicked out again! Harris went for his Catatonic
finisher, but out came Dustin Rhodes who nailed Harris in the back,
allowing The Instant Classic to get the win!
Up next, its Sting and Abyss vs. AJ Styles and Tomko! Styles
started the bout against Abyss, but he was unable to even put a dent in
the monster. Tomko then traded fists with Abyss before Sting tagged in.
Sting nailed Stinger Splashes on both Tomko and Styles and then tagged
in Abyss who cleaned house. Later in the bout, with Sting and Tomko
battling on the outside, Abyss hit the Shock Treatment on Styles but
with his back turned Tomko ran back in and nailed Abyss. Sting put the
Scorpion Deathlock on Tomko, but referee Andre Thomas didnt see Tomko
tapping out. Abyss finally nailed Tomko with the Black Hole Slam to get
the win! After the bout, manager James Mitchell appeared on the
entrance ramp and told Sting and Abyss to enjoy the win while they
could because the doomsday clock is ticking!
In the main event of the night, it was Samoa Joe and Kurt Angle
teaming up against Team 3D. Surprisingly, Joe and Angle worked well
early on, while it was Brother Ray and Brother Devon arguing
throughout, costing each other pinfall opportunities. During the bout,
the Steiner Brothers made their return, as Scott Steiner nailed Team 3D
with a steel pipe. Kurt Angle hit the Angle Slam on Brother Ray, but
this time Joe stole the win from the Olympic gold medalist! Samoa Joe
is now the holder of the TNA X Division and TNA World Tag Team Title!

NEW ORLEANS Whether or not Batista truly knows what he is doing
by accepting The
Great Khalis open challenge, their match at The Great American Bash is now official.
The Animal couldnt wait to put the ink on the paper when he sat across from the
giant for a contract signing. When he wrote his name, he made a statement: he is
certain and he is confident, despite Khali's impressive resume and massive
size.
The Great Khali didnt come to the table with the same enthusiasm as his
pay-per-view opponent. Translator Ranjin Singh called Batista an animal who
belongs in a cage rather than in the ring with a competitor like Khali,
seemingly stalling the inevitable signing. After some thunderous words from The
Great Khali himself, he signed and formally closed his open challenge.
Batista offered a handshake when the two Superstars rose from their seats,
but when The Great Khali refused it, The Animal slapped him across the face.
Batista may not be quite as tall as his opponent, but he is big enough to strike
fear in the giant, who fled the ring. Displaying his power, The Great Khali tore
the stairs away from ringside and threw them into the squared circle, only to
have them returned via airmail along with every chair and a table.
Edge did some
redecorating of his own when he held a Mardi Gras celebration at New Orleans
Arena. Dancing on a float in the middle of his parade, the World Heavyweight
Champion made his way to the ring, surrounded by costumed party attendants.
Unfortunately for the Rated-R Superstar, Kane was waiting behind one of those
masks to give Edge a preview of things to come at The Great American Bash. The
Big Red Machine sent Edge home from his party early, capping off a night of
stalking the World Heavyweight Champion in the locker room area for two hours.
SmackDown kicked off with a
hard-fought match between Matt Hardy and Chris Masters that could have
gone to either Superstar. Hardy found his way to a victory, however, with a
Twist of Fate as his opponent at The Great American Bash, Montel Vontavious Porter looked on. When
the bell sounded, MVP
came to ringside and exchanged taunts, distracting Hardy and setting him up for
Masters to apply the dreaded Master Lock from behind. MVP had his fun with the
trapped Superstar, hitting him with elbows and the Playmaker and taking the
mental advantage just nine days before they face.
Mark Henry had
his way with a Superstar, as well. The Worlds Strongest Man was initially
slated to take on Deuce, but the greaser pulled a fast one
and convinced Eugene
to take on his opponent in exchange for a ride in their hot rod. Eugene quickly
regretted the deal when he saw Henry pound toward the ring. Deuce, Domino and Cherry laughed as they
watched Eugene submit, ending a quick contest.
Jimmy Wang
Yang also regretted stepping into the ring when he faced Finlay. The Irish brawler gave the
redneck Superstar a taste of the Celtic Cross, leading to his victory, but that
was only the beginning. Hornswoggle fired out from under
the ring and donated his body to be used as a weapon as Finlay drove the
leprechaun into Yangs stomach.
In other SmackDown action, the Major Brothers picked up an upset victory
against Chavo
Guerrero & Jamie Noble when Brett Major pinned
Chavo after a dropkick off the turnbuckle. Chuck Palumbo also earned his second
win on SmackDown in quick, convincing fashion.
The Divas were in battle, as well. Victoria and Torrie Wilson faced to settle
their differences after last weeks brawl during a photo shoot. The match took
the beauties out of the ring as the two pounded each other, but Torrie took
control and hit Victoria with two boots to the chest, leaving the former
two-time Womens Champion to be counted out.
Watch Friday Night SmackDown at 8/7 CT on The CW Network to see what develops
just two days before The Great American Bash.

WAGA-TV in Atlanta has just reported that federal investigators have seized all medical records of Dr. Phil Astin and patients Larry Pfolhl (Lex Luger), Marcus Bagwell, Mark Jindrak, Bob Howard (Bob Holly), Chris Benoit, Nancy Benoit, Mike Durham (Johnny Grunge) and Oscar Gutierrez (Rey Mysterio).
The station also reported that M.J. and O.G., the two wrestlers involved in the indictment of overprescribing pain killers were, as speculated, Mark Jindrak and Gutierrez.
WWE SIGNS CONTROVERSIAL THIRD GENERATION STAR by Mike Johnson @ 11:59:00 AM on 7/10/2007
World Wrestling Entertainment has signed Teddy Hart to a developmental deal. Hart has already reported to Florida Championship Wrestling in Tampa, Florida.
The controversial but extremely charismatic and talented Hart was the talk of the Internet at various times in recent years for antics in Ring of Honor, TNA, Jersey All Pro Wrestling and MLW, among other promotions.
Hart, 27, is the grandson of Stu Hart and the son of wrestler BJ Annis and Georgia Hart. His cousins Nattie Neidhart and Harry Smith are also under WWE deals and in Florida, as is long-time friend and opponent TJ Wilson.
NORMAN, Okla. Jim Ross has often talked about restaurant quality butt-whippings while calling matches on Raw, and now our fans will get a chance to find out just what that means. On Wednesday, Ross opened the first ever J.R.s Family Bar-B-Q, located just 20 miles south of Oklahoma City.
I had a strong desire for a place of my own to come to and watch people have smiles on their faces, get a good meal and enjoy the fellowship and the camaraderie, said the restaurants proud owner.
J.R. cites his upbringing for initially getting him involved in food. If it werent for the neighborhood cookouts he attended when he was younger, the desire for his own establishment may never have taken root.
When we had company over for cookouts, it was a chance for families to get together, he said. My pals were there to play football with or shoot hoops or play baseball. The cookouts were more social occasions than anything else and the food was always great.
Despite traveling for the last 34 years in the wrestling business, Ross has yet to find a match for his mothers and grandmothers cooking. He will share the wealth with his customers as much of the menu is made up of Ross family recipes.
Were not playing baseball or football or shooting hoops anymore, but the same feeling is here, he said, determined to ensure a homey feeling at J.R.s.
While seekers of a friendly environment are sure to be impressed with the hospitality, our fans will also be satisfied with the décor.
Some of the biggest stars in the business donated their attire. Triple Hs boots, Ric Flairs boots, Shawn Michaelss outfit from WrestleMania, an outfit from Undertaker, boots Stone Cold Steve Austin wore in three WrestleManias, Mick Foleys last official Socko and Kanes last mask, to scratch the surface.
Also on display are pieces that make up one of the most impressive John Wayne collections of memorabilia in the country, as well as a room dedicated to Mickey Mantle.
A lot of the decoration is also pictures that Ive had the privilege of being involved in over the years, he added, stating the photos and WWE pieces span four decades. And theres a real beautiful display of my induction into the WWE Hall of Fame in the entryway.
J.R. was surprised at how supportive Superstars were, stretching from classic Legends like Dusty Rhodes to Superstars still building their legacy like Edge. When he asked for donations, he expected only autographed photos. When he finished collecting, Ross had a gathering of items that he never thought people would give up.
I cant thank all those guys enough. Their images are here in a respectful fashion, like they deserve.
Not only do the walls accommodate our fans, but the heart of J.R.s Family Bar-B-Q beats the same way WWEs does.
It is much like the infrastructure of WWE in that its a team effort, he explained. Success is always a team effort.
Ross hopes for his restaurant to grow someday, but he insists on sticking to a formula for quality.
Its like WWE, which has a great track record of building Superstars. You focus on one Superstar and you cultivate that Superstars image. Superstars have to deliver the goods as well, or it doesnt work. Were going to develop one star restaurant, the original J.R.s in Norman, with the goal in mind that if we are successful, we are going to build others.
J.R.s Family Bar-B-Q seats 130 people. The kitchen can handle smoking 100 slabs of ribs at once, courtesy of a giant smoker and hickory wood. Ross describes it as Old school barbecue. Going beyond the traditional, the menu also features things like barbecued pizza, quesadillas and soft tacos. There are also healthy choices, which many barbecue restaurants dont provide.
The birth of J.R.s Family Bar-B-Q can be traced back to J.R.s Cookbook. Virtually all of the menus recipes come either from the publication or from Rosss family.
We didnt want to settle for average and we wouldnt settle for average. Everything had to taste homemade and authentic. So I was involved in every phase of [the restaurants formation] except for the stages of physical construction. I was very much hands-on involved with the recipes. When your image and your name are on it, I just refuse to settle for average.
J.R. even came up with most of the wording for the menus, which features sports-related items like Superstar Salads, Hall of Fame Ribs, Body Slammin Sandwiches, Tag Team Partner side orders and Finishing Maneuver desserts. He also contributed writing for the official site at http://www.jrsbarbq.com/.
Weve been having the equivalent of football two-a-days, he said about the preparation. Weve been cooking and serving. Its like doing scrimmages. And now its game day. At 11 this morning we kicked off, and its real and the season has begun.
J.R.s Family Bar-B-Q also provides catering. It is open seven days a week between 11 a.m. and 10 p.m. For more information, call (405) 360-4BBQ.
Its real exciting for me. Ive eaten at barbecue places all over the world and I just knew what I thought tasted good.
Customers can also visit the restaurants Web site to order J.R.s famous sauces, jerky and other products.
Its really a great place. We think our food is going to be outstanding and our staff is friendly. Like we say here, a smile and a thank you goes a long way.
A little more than one year ago Beth Phoenix stepped into the ring for her first singles match on Monday Night Raw. The outcome wasnt at all what she or anyone else could have predicted a broken jaw from a concrete-fisted shot to the face from Victoria.
The injury placed Beth on the shelf for the remainder of 2006, and half of 2007. Her return to the ring on Monday when she filled in for an injured Melina was almost as big of a surprise as the ending of her first match. Laying low and staying out of sight, out of mind while on injured reserve worked flawlessly upon her surprise return.
My return was definitely strategic; it was definitely time to get back in the ring, Beth said. I went through a lot to come back. It took two titanium plates and nine screws to fix my jaw, and thats all Ive thought about since it happened. Before my match, the only thought I had went back to last year; how I was laid up in the hospital, how my jaw was broken in three places and misaligned so I couldnt even talk.
The pain pulsating from her mangled jaw and the surgery it took to fix it was nothing compared to the pain of watching other Raw Divas compete on national television while etching their mark in the fabrics of WWE history. The backlog of disdain that built up for the Divas healthy enough to compete (as well as chew food or talk) instilled in Beth a necessity to prove that the injury she suffered wasnt a case of glass jaw. Instead, it was a freak accident that only postponed the inevitable.
From the time I was able to exercise again, I worked on honing my craft and ultimately becoming more dangerous, she said. All the time on the shelf only made me angrier and more focused at reaching the top of WWE.
However, who does her anger target? The Womens Championship only fits around one waist, which makes her coalition with former Womens Champion Melina extremely peculiar.
The other Divas are intimidated by me as they should be, she scoffed. Im here to make an impact. Making friends is not on my agenda. Dont get me wrong, all the Divas have to share space and have to be professional, but whoever is in my way will be plowed over if they dont move.
But that didnt answer the question regarding her alliance with one of WWEs most notorious gold-driven Divas.
Look, its simple: Im here to do whats best for me and my career to make it to the top, she snapped. Its time for me to make up for all the time I lost when I was hurt; as I said, taking out my anger on any person who gets in my way of getting to the top.
Now that Beth has returned to Raw and has apparently chosen to align herself with Melina, she may want to worry less about re-injuring her jaw and worry more about the new enemies she forged her first night back. bron:wwe.com
The murmurs in the Raw locker room started almost immediately after the Superstars and millions of fans worldwide heard the familiar gravelly voice and saw the all-too familiar sight: Triple H holding his trusty sledgehammer like a holy scepter.
The vignette was the second video of Triple H that the Raw Superstars and our fans had seen during the show last week, but it clearly had the most impact. The first video showed The Game shortly after he suffered a torn quadriceps at New Years Revolution this past January, having surgery and talking about his long recovery ahead. But in the second video, the 10-time World Champion did what he does best capture attention as he declared, In case you have forgotten, I am The Game! And Im back! (WATCH)
The Superstars clearly hadnt forgotten Triple H in the nearly six months since his injury. Eyes widened, and jaws dropped. Questions such as What does this mean? and When is he coming back? raced around the locker room. King Booker forgot his British accent as he muttered to Queen Sharmell, Tell me, I didnt just see that?
Even the smirk on Randy Orton's face faded. When WWE.com asked the Legend Killer for his thoughts on his hated rival and former Evolution teammates return, he brushed aside our reporters recorder and said, No comment.
Orton brushed shoulders with Carlito, who was leaning up against the wall and munching an apple. He rolled his eyes and sucked his teeth as he watched Orton storm away. The Caribbean Superstar had watched the video like everyone else and was less than impressed.
I dont see what the big deal is, Carlito spat. I dont feel hes [Triple H] done much around here. He doesnt add anything to Raw. Were better off without him.
Perhaps Carlito was just trying to play it cool, but he and all of WWE have been put on notice. The Game is coming back, and it looks like hes ready start kicking a**. The list of Superstars who have fallen to Triple H is a whos who of legends in sports-entertainment. From The Rock to Hulk Hogan to Mick Foley to Stone Cold Steve Austin and everyone else in between, The Game has made a legendary career out of taking on and beating the best.
As a gladiator who thrives on competing when the lights are brightest and the crowds are at their loudest, it had to have nearly killed Triple H to miss WrestleMania 23 and the 80,000-plus fans at Ford Field in Detroit. He had to have been stir-crazy watching the competition heat up on Raw week after week as he sat at home and rehabbed his injury.
But soon, as Triple Hs entrance song says, it will be Time to Play The Game, again on Raw, and some Superstars cant wait for his return.
To me, it's like having the flag bearer, the standard by which all things are measured [come back], said Sandman, a Raw newcomer who has never been on the same brand as Triple H. To me, Im looking forward to his return because it can only mean things are gonna heat up around here.
Triple Hs imminent return has also brought out the fan in some Superstars who happen to be former rivals.
Triple H was the first guy I ever won the Intercontinental Championship from, and that was an honor in itself, said Jeff Hardy. Its always great to see that guy hes so entertaining and creates such positive energy between him and our fans. I would love to see him. It would be great if he came back before the end of the summer. Im anticipating it like everyone else.
Besides when, another question our fans and Superstars must be pondering is what will Triple H want when he returns. Who will he target? He has said he wants to win an 11th World Championship. However, he also had to be fuming when Randy Orton and Edge took credit for putting him on the sidelines when they were partners as Rated-RKO. In addition, could The Game seek new legends or legends-in-the-making to conquer, Superstars he hasnt faced yet, like Bobby Lashley and Mr. Kennedy?
Only Triple H holds the answers to these questions. For now, Raw Superstars and the rest of WWE had best be on top of their game.
Watch the Triple H video from this past week's Raw.
ECW World Champion Johnny Nitro def. Tommy Dreamer (Extreme Rules, non-title)
Nitro and Punk continue to roll toward The Bash
By Corey Clayton
July 10, 2007
NEW ORLEANS Seeing extreme icon Tommy Dreamer drag a garbage can to ringside had to momentarily give ECW World Champion Johnny Nitro second thoughts accepting this Extreme Rules Match for ECW on Sci Fi.
But with no rules, no disqualifications, and no help from referees, the Hollywood, Calif., Superstar used the occasion to prove his extreme mettle to his critics that questioned his hardcore credentials.
After weathering an early storm of blows from a steel crutch from Dreamer, Nitro rebounded to deliver a corkscrew moonsault from the ringside barrier. Then, after Dreamer recovered and pelted the champion with trash can blows, Nitro was able to reverse Dreamers momentum and send him crashing into a steel chair.
The champion quickly rolled up the ECW Original and used some leverage from the bottom rope perfectly legal in Extreme Rules Matches to gain the pinfall.
Meanwhile, his ECW World Title opponent at The Great American Bash, CM Punk, had his hands full with Stevie Richards. Richards had the Straightedge Superstar on edge throughout their match up, making Punk escape from a dangerous leg lock that had him near submission.
But with Nitro watching from a locker room monitor, Punk rallied past Richards, scoring the pinfall with his patented GTS. With less than two weeks until The Great American Bash, the rivalry between the champion and Punk continues to get hotter.
The evening on Sci Fi started off in a fitting way for New Orleans, a city known for the macabre and occult. Your teacher, Matt Striker, invited out his strange rival, Boogeyman, for a lecture. Keeping his school desk between him and The Bottomless Pit dweller, Striker tried to reason with Boogeyman and educate him about the importance his favorite snack, worms, have on the ecosystem.
But after seeing his lessons falling on deaf ears and the macabre monster stalking him closer, Striker introduced his new pupil, the intimidating Big Daddy V. Striker struck Boogeyman in the back to get his attention, then Big Daddy V attacked the worm-eater. The monster slammed Boogeyman into the teachers desk and then threw him through a chalkboard to the floor.
Also making his long-awaited ECW debut was The Miz, who defeated the Italian spitfire Nunzio. The former reality TV star, drafted to ECW weeks earlier, had Extreme Exposes attention before the match, and got Nunzios attention early on in their contest. Miz caught the Full-Blooded Italian in his swinging neckbreaker, called the Mizard of Oz, to gain his first-ever ECW win.
Elijah Burke also snapped his recent slump, scoring a victory over Balls Mahoney. After trading blows early in the match with the Chair Swinging Freak, Burke was able to dodge Mahoneys leg drop from the top rope, then deliver the Elijah Express to the stunned New Jersey native to score the pin.
